Cool entry, the music was awesome! :)

loktor 2017-05-01 20:45

Wow you did a really great job with the music, catchy :)

I also really enjoyed the gameplay :) one thing that might have been good tho would be to allow for a bit more room for error, e.q. maybe that the world gets cracks as you go on? :)

Great overall result tho :)

Welcome to Jurassic Ludum Dare!

This was really fun, with some more polish I feel like this could be a really great mobile game... tap left on the screen to go left, and right to go right. I can see myselft getting addicted to this type of game.

I definitely agree, the music was A+ and really brought a nice arcade feel to the game.

I would have liked to be allowed to make a few mistakes as well, instead of the planet exploding on one asteroid.

Power-ups, or different things falling to the planet feel like a natural extension to add next.

Great game, has a lot of potential!

This is a fun little game. Cute effective graphics and a nice song choice even if it's not original content it's a good fit.

I enjoyed the frantic pace of it. The controls had to be very fast as they were, but I felt pretty awkward trying to do the small adjustments. I wonder whether a ramp-up or acceleration period that was extremely tiny but not quite zero would have helped with fine-tune positioning. It can be tough though to get the controls speedy enough for what this game requires but still have finesse.

It was a great choice that you were a bit generous with the defense hitbox, as this definitely made the trickiness of slight adjustment not feel so bad. Good call!

One other really tiny thing: I wish the restart was a keypress, since the gameplay is all keyboard and I restarted a lot it was a shame to have to move my hand over to the mouse and back each time.

So that's some feedback but nothing that hurt the enjoyment. Nice work!

Very fun game. Simple gamplay but really well implemented.

heathor 2017-05-02 19:18

Thanks for the feedback:) @pkenney The music is original (see link in description)

great soundtrack!

The small. but very significant, thing that the asteroids can crash into each other is a great way to make this very simple game many factors deeper. You just don't have to be fast, you have to aim as well! Great work!

Quite enjoyable - I have to say getting two asteroids to collide for the first time was a great feeling, the aiming mechanism hinted nicely that it would be possible. I think as the speed goes up the game becomes unplayable due to lack of control, and that would be something interesting to try to solve. But even so playing through it was a great experience.

This is maybe not a new concept but you made it cute and funny. The music is catchy and I like how it's smooth and easy to play, I spent a nice time playing! :)

blackrose 2017-05-07 12:54

The game its fun, the music its good and te art its cute. Its not a new concept but you kae it simple and entertaining. Good Job. I love the little dinosaur

zorg 2017-05-08 09:21

I liked it, especially that you can hit asteroids with reflected asteroids. But at one point in the game it looks like you arrive at a situation which is not manageable, i.e. two asteroids hitting the world simultaneously. With more development time it should be possible to set the time between impacts to a certain minimum level and spawn the asteroids accordingly so it's possible to reflect all asteroids.

paulhocker 2017-05-10 02:52

very fun game - music and graphics fit well with the theme - i would like to have some more finer control of the dinosaur, occasionally i would "overshoot" an asteroid, and then have to go back - also some more variation on "stuff" would be good

Very, very, very fun game! Fast, great music, nice pixel art, good-old catch the eggs type of game we all played in the 90ties :)

Well done!

Gotta love nice little simple entries like this. Definitely feels like an arcade-style game, and I enjoy any use of quick-restart menus when it comes to games of that style, so thanks for opting for that.

And like Zorg mentioned, if you change your mechanics to be less along the lines of having a 'point of no return' in the difficulty, you can work in other things if you have times, like upgrades and so forth, perhaps to maybe a larger shield or giving the planet itself more health or things to help defend it.

Otherwise, a great start to something, though, and very fun to play.

Great music, good idea, and fun graphics. Well done.

A great start to a fun game! A little slow to start. I would have liked power ups or upgrades, but maybe that will come in the future :)

slash-random 2017-05-19 07:37

Simple and funny. Sometimes the game kills you due to pure RNG with some bad asteroid placement, but hey, it's a jam game. I like the simple art of the game. Especially the player sprite is really cute.

Great little game. Good job!
