After unity loading screen gray screen shows up and there is no game.

freso 2018-04-24 06:36

It works fine in Firefox and Chrome here. Unfortunately it seems not to work in Edge or Explorer. @ludum1118

weine 2018-04-24 16:29

Works fine in Firefox and Chrome also on Linux.

Solid! It was definitely tough as a single player to keep track of what was going on both sides--but that's the point. The jump physics were a little sensitive to land on the platforms easily but that was the only frustration.

jequed 2018-04-24 22:20

When the theme was announced, I didn't expect them to be combined this way, but it was a pleasant surprise. Playing single player was a bit of a challenge, and I think the friction on the platformer part was a bit too inconsistent and slippery. Ended up with a high score of 547.

siuler-lm 2018-04-25 13:34

Interesting combination. Maybe the left side is too hard and requires too much precision to don't fall, so cannot pay attention to the right side (I love old-fashioned ship shooters :D). Nevertheless, it's a good idea that one of getting a new life by picking a half of a heart in each side.

Here's an idea that would improve the experience: To speed down the side where the action is less important in a concrete moment. So, the player can focus in the most important one, in the meantime the player is also controlling the less important one slowed ;)

benskca 2018-04-25 15:06

A really cool idea to literally combine two genres into one! I think the platforming on the left side might be a little bit too floaty, you have to be very precise not to fall down constantly, but other than that I enjoyed it.

freso 2018-04-25 15:06

@Siuler-LM : good idea for a powerup. It is quite hard in single player indeed. Having a friend handle the 🐁 is easier and quite fun. :)

thecze 2018-04-25 15:25

Pretty hard for my brain to keep track of both sides. Really liked the idea of the heart where you have to collect the halves in the different games.

drikdrok 2018-04-25 15:29

Solid game. The platformer on the left hand was way too hard to control though, more gravity needed as i found myself flying for miles

I like the idea of playing two games at once a lot, and all in all I enjoyed the game :)

gennon 2018-04-25 15:34

This was hard! What can you say, my multitasking skillz are really bad! ;) The concept is really cool! And the idea to pick up powerups on the other side is really smart! I had some issues with my Towerguy spawning below the visible screen a few times. Thanks for making this! :)

gen-liu 2018-04-25 15:39

Didn't expect the combination in this way. Power up other game is a great idea.

mathijsvissers 2018-04-25 16:31

Really challenging! I like the idea of the extra life through collection both halves of the heart.

danes1111 2018-04-25 16:36

Oh, that was hard.

hpmnk 2018-04-26 00:05

Ugh quite hard x) All these "dual-games" are always mind-blowing Interesting game, but would need simpler mechanics on both sides to be really enjoyable. Platformer side is a bit rigid too ^^ The music is nice !

benhumphries 2018-04-26 00:06

I really liked how both sides, the astronaut and the spaceship could collect powerups/hearts to help each other. I played the game by myself and found it fun, but the astronaut's movement could definitely use some improvement -- it felt very slippery to me (but I understand, I've tried and failed to make good 2d character controllers in Unity). Great job!

manbeardgames 2018-04-26 01:20

Interesting trying to do this solo without a someone else controlling the other side. I will say that the shippy side got a tad bit easier to manage once I discovered I could just hold down the fire button without really any danger. Then i could just focus on the platforming side.

Collecting the hearts from both sides was a nice touch, along with the power ups collected from each side being for the other side.

Overall it is a good concept and enjoyed playing. Good work.

abhijeet-dani 2018-04-26 04:02

Interesting gameplay! I really felt this game combined two incompatible genres! Was really difficult to coordinate between the two screens. But then i figured i could just keep shooting. The platformer is too fluid imo and needs to be a bit more constrained in movement. Overall its a fun concept. Loved the idea of collecting hafl a heart on each side to gain a life! Great work! :)

alxander 2018-04-26 14:48

Very nice game guys, I like it alot! [high.png](///raw/102/21/z/14269.png) I like the fact that you can combine halves to make a life. The music is nice and the game fits the theme very well.

n00b 2018-04-26 18:10

I think this game works really well as a co-op experience. I didn't do to well trying to play it by myself but it was a fun challenge.

freso 2018-04-26 19:52

We did plan on doing two different difficulty modes. An easier one for single-player, but alas, time ran out and stuff had to be cut. One thing you can do, is make the most of your death with Shippy. Clear all those baddies with your shield, but be quick so it doesn't run out while shielding them to death!

the-noffs 2018-04-27 00:27

I tried to play solo and whew! That's tough stuff. Too much for my monkeybrain. I liked what I saw though: a very clear interpretation of the theme, what looks like a fun 2-player mechanic (it looks like you can share/give powerups to each other? nice! I liked the split heart powerup idea too), and clear gfx and nice audio. Well made! I'll see if I can coax the cat into playing with me.

eonarheim 2018-04-28 13:52

I like the idea, our game had a similar take on the theme! It was a little difficult to play solo. I also echo the neat heart powerup mechanic-very cool idea. It'd be interesting to explore more mechanics that tie the two halves together, which definitely something that we were thinking of doing in our game post-jam.

samusoidal 2018-04-28 18:58

That's extremely hard single player! It was a good concept but needed some polishing, in my opinion.
