Yeah, its the calculation I use for the fireball. I need to use something else.
The game is hard, I might dial it down a bit.

Pretty fun. Was it intended to be able to spam fireballs as quickly as you can click? I would love to see a cool down or hold to fire on both sides.

Agree with the rest. Some kind of cooldown would balance your game. Anyway great job!
Neat little game! The animations and sound effects make the experience feel polished. I was able to find two tips to help push further: - make sure your cursor is as far as your character as possible as the speed of the fireballs are based on the distance cursor to character - try to focus "out of sync" enemies as those are the ones catching you off guard when you're already dodging fireballs
The only issue I've noticed is that the movement input seem to get stuck sometimes, making my character go further than I intended.

I enjoyed playing. I liked shoot down the orcs. Would have liked to have been able to walk around the whole screen and maybe orcs can come from all directions. I read your profile an I'm impressed with how long you have being programming. Great job!
I really enjoyed the lack of cooldown on fireballs, and that both clicks would spawn them. As a button masher, I actually had the opposite opinion of others on the difficulty, I felt like I couldn't take damage! :laughing: Very satisfying to have that kind of power level.
This was a nice break from strategy games, I had fun time shooting bad guys and trying to avoid dying. The overall atmosphere works well as well.

It's a simple game, but a very enjoyable one. The gameplay is super smooth and it's well put together. I only wish there was a line indicating a border player can't cross, I feel like it would make me plan movement easier. Great job and congrats on making it!
A very cute game, I did feel like I was a little overwhelmed quite quickly, but the experience was very well rounded :)
Simple idea and simple mechanics, but it's fun and enjoyable though don't get me wrong.
But the difficulty is a little bit hard though, the orcs spawn way too fast and easily overwhelm the player, not too mention they shoot simultaneously, which makes it kinda hard to dodge all the fireball and once they hit you just die like immediately.
Another suggestion I'd like to give is to make the hold to shoot feature for the player, because my finger was a little tired because of spamming the mouse in a long period of time.

I have it now where you hold the button down and you get a fireball about every second. I slowed the spawn rate of the Orcs a bit. Slowed the fireball spawn rate for the Orcs as well.

that was really hard! i only got to 3 gems, and they just keep coming!
Quite nice game. I tried LD55 version so I haven't seen any boss appear at the end. Also I got tired clicking on a mouse button way too fast, maybe you need to change it? I like pixel graphics and summon animation. Good job!
@andrewbyte I made it so you could just hold the left mouse button down. I made the boundaries more visible. I put the boss fight in as well.

I don't know what the others are saying but I absolutely destroyed those orcs and beat it first try! The strategy was click as fast as possible while strafing up and down. In fact, I only stayed on the left side of the screen the whole time. Maybe to switch up the strategy, make orcs spawn from the sides of the map and move toward the center, forcing you to move around more or perhaps add some melee enemies that chase you down. But I know this was a game jam and there wasn't much time for such features, just some ideas. I did think the overall mood was too. Good work!

Hell yeah brother!!! Good job beating the game. If you get a chance the post version you just hold down the mouse to shoot the fireballs. There is also a boss level after completing the others.

Interesting game. I like the sprites and the art in general. I am a huge fan of bullets hell. Ours doesn't display the same way as your that why I absolutly wanted to test your game. Nice work !

This games makes fun and I see a lot of potential. A more powerfull spell to reduce the number of opponents would be nice.
