LD54 — Limited Space

Cosmic Chaos by Jiri_One 2023-10-08T17:13:32Z

Very creative idea for a bullet-hell game, I love the upgrade system, it's a really interesting interpretation of the theme. The graphics and audio do remind me of those old shooter games on arcade machines, very nostalgic, although the shooting sound is kinda loud and annoying.

The control is a little bit weird to me, it took a while to get used to the movement and aiming, I died a few times before I could get the movement right and manage to land hits on enemies. It'd been nice if I could rotate the player alone without having to move forwards, because doing so makes it difficult to dodge incoming attacks.

But regardless, very impressive job for a Compo entry! Well done man!

Total Party Swipe by Sheepolution 2023-10-04T09:22:33Z

Very nice idea and well-done implementation, the fact that you guys animated all the characters is impressive, and pretty neat sound effect and banger music too.

My suggestion is that when a monster died, the next one doesn't take that tile immediately, but waits for the next turn. That'd give the player a little "break" to retreat their low HP units for example or have a little rest between each turn.

Overall, it's a good game.

LIGHTDANCER by xk_the_name 2023-10-07T14:43:10Z

What an incredible entry, I'm in awe! The controls and rolling mechanics are peak, very smooth and natural movement. The visual is perfect, from the lighting, animation, and the art itself. The burning sound is also good, but some piece of music would definitely add up to the atmosphere and mood even more. One thing I noticed is rolling diagonally is faster than horizontal and vertical, but it doesn't affect my experience too much however, just something too keep in mind.

Overall, you nailed every single thing of this game, extremely well done for a Compo submission!

BLOCKIES by Ayxs 2023-10-14T18:11:34Z

Man, back then when I was a kid and played Tetris, I was thinking how it would be played if it was in 3D, but now, this entry has brought that imagination to live! And it turned out to be quite hard and complicated than I though it would be. I really like the graphics and the UI, very simple yet elegant, and the calming music just makes the experience more enjoyable and relaxing. The leaderboard was a good addition too, really increased the replay value!

There're some nitpickings I found by playing through the game several times. The first being the mouse sensitivity for rotating the camera, I think it's a little fast compares to the vertical movement. Second, it would've been a lot nicer to be able to rotate the pieces in all 3 axes instead of just the Y. That would create a lot of placement possibilities and greatly enhance the overall enjoyment, you have no idea how many times I wished I could rotate a piece on the X or Z axis just to fit it in that particular spot! Lastly, it's kinda hard to know if there were any unfilled spots left because the outer pieces hid them. I would suggest decreasing the transparency of the surrounding pieces a little bit if there're unfilled spots inside them, that would definitely make the experience of placing pieces more satisfying and forgiving.

But in conclusion, I really love this entry and I, wholeheartedly, appreciate the creativity along with the effort you guys put into it. That was a really special experience I had, it did made me reminisce about those good 'ol carefree days as a kid, magnificent job on this one!

F.R.E.D by Mr_Field 2023-10-15T09:36:05Z

Man, this game deserves more recognitions than it is now. The pixel graphics is gorgeous! I mean really, each object is very detailed and crispy, absolutely love that. The ooze is so well designed, I love how it moves and navigates through the map, it can even press on pressure plates to open doors to reach the player, and the sound it makes is nice too, very suitable for the "oozing" appearance it has. And the fact that there are lots of possibilities to try in this game, from different ways to take down the ooze, or just the ways that objects interact with each other, they are incredibly cool and well implemented!

The thing that bothered me the most was the controls were a little off, it took me a while to get used to and I still dropped or used an item unintentionally, maybe rebinding the keys to be more reasonable and convenient is the first thing to consider. And I noticed that you were not being able to pick up an item because the currently selected slot was "taken", even though there were plenty of empty slots left in the inventory, instead you had to switch to an empty slot before picking an item up. To me that was a bit tedious and irritating sometimes, especially when you were in a danger situation and needed to pick up something fast. I think it would make the experience more worthy and enjoyable if you were allowed to pick up any items as long as there were available slots in your inventory. And I believe some kind of instruction or tutorial at the beginning would be a really good idea for this game, it can guide future players through the core mechanics and tells them what they can do in the game, instead of letting them figure it all out themselves.

But other than that, this game is basically a prime example of hidden gems, definitely one of my favorites so far! What an amazing job and I'm really impressed by the effort you guys put into this entry! Consider rating more games out there and leaving feedbacks, so this precious gem can get a higher chance to be discovered by others!

A Parking Story by Gao Ming 2023-10-05T16:52:11Z

You nailed the handling of the car man, smooth as a butter! The audio is great, especially the engine sound, and the simple but polished graphics too, I love those little band-aids whenever we hit something, they're adorable and really add up to the humor. Such an amazing entry!

LD54 A Space Station Odysee by Wisch 2023-10-04T07:49:29Z

I'd prefer a keyboard control over the mouse control, 'cause my finger gets a bit tired by clicking. Pretty good entry.

Hellevator by Snowdrama 2023-10-18T09:26:09Z

This game is really good, it was in the "danger" category before when I first bookmarked it, I have some free time this morning so I gave it a try. Glad to see that you guys have met the minimum rating requirement to be eligible for scoring, congratulation!

As for the game itself, the first impression was the audio, I really like the variety in gunshot and projectile sounds, they do make each attacks and weapons feel very unique and distinctive, and enhance the overall experience. The pixel art style was really nice, I like the color palette of choice, it portrayed the dark, demonic atmosphere and ambience of hell very well. Also I love the fact that you guys put a nice little twist there for the reload mechanic, you actually had to time it right to get the gun reloaded a little faster, it reminds me of the railgunner in Risk of Rain 2 which shares the same mechanic, super cool and creative!

But there's a few issues I came across during the playthrough, and I'd like to let you guys know for future improvements: - First is the interaction mechanic, I think some objects like the hearts should be picked up automatically when you collided with them. And sometimes when I swapped weapons near the blue chains, the previous gun got thrown outside of the walkable area, which basically made you lost that said gun since it was possible to reach. I think a simple collider on each interactable object should do the trick just fine. - Adding some sort of indicators or highlights to interactable objects when you came near them should be a great idea to consider, because they were hard to notice sometimes since the screen was covered in projectiles from enemies. - Guns can be reloaded even if they're currently full, even though it didn't affect the gameplay too much, but it's still a thing worth to note down. Also the time it saved for timing the reload right wasn't too much, for that I could have just hit reload and ignored the timing entirely. I suggest moving the blue section more to the middle of the bar, and maybe give some damage boost for the next shots, those should take the fun to another level in my opinion. - The overall balance seems a bit off, since the bosses were kinda underwhelming, and it was a bit repetitive as most waves had the same enemy patterns and boss. I think some adjustments like introducing different enemy types or making the boss stronger would greatly increase the playing enjoyment and make the progress of clearing waves more worthy and rewarding too.

Regardless, this is a very fun and engaging game, and a nice take on combining the theme with the bullet-hell aspect, definitely goes into my list of hidden gems of this Ludum Dare! Astonishing job on this entry guys, I'm impressed! But consider going out there and leaving helpful feedbacks to other games because your karma is rather low, so that your game has more chances to be discovered by others.

Packing by homeworld 2023-10-06T16:10:49Z

What an impressive entry, the fact that you managed to put this many of things in such a short amount of time is mind-blowing. I love the retro, pixelated graphics and the ambient sound of the rain and thunder, they create a very eerie and spooky atmosphere. And the voice acting was a plus for the story-telling aspect. But one thing that kinda bothered me was the mouse sensitivity, I think it's a bit too high which makes the process of packing boxes difficult, as they keep falling if I pan the mouse a little fast.

Regardless, you did a wonderful job!

Tiny Island by ghpxi 2023-10-11T14:49:17Z

Man, this game was a lot of fun, really enjoyed it! I love the pixel arts, they was drawn on a small canvas but did look really distinctive and stand out. The sound effects are really satisfying too, and controls are simple to follow as well. But in the Jam version, I was mistaking the worker icon for the gold icon, which confused me why I couldn't play a card even if I had enough gold, I'd like to suggest some sort of indicators on the cards about which resources you have enough and which don't.

Adding range indicators on cards like the Mine and Pier would be a good thing to consider in my opinion, because I didn't quite understand meaning of the "neighbor" in the Mine Card, or "surrounding water" in the Pier Card, what counts as neighbor or surrounding? Are they referring to 4 tiles adjacent to them, or do they count diagonal tiles as well?

Overall, this is a really nice entry with a lot of polishing, very suitable with the current theme, you did a great job on this one! I would definitely check out the Post-jam version later on, cheers!

Terminal Noise by fusionnist 2023-10-04T08:17:34Z

Nice entry, I like the mysterious, otherworldly music, the mechanics are a bit confusing but I got to understand it eventually, or did I?

Donut Park Here! by Rongo Matane 2023-10-09T14:19:26Z

Man, this is a very fun game to play! I didn't know that parking and returning cars would be this chaos and exhilarating experience, really enjoyed it! The graphics and car models are really detailed and I love the fact that each car has different handling characteristics and speed, which is really a nice touch. The audio is great, from the engine sound, the ignition sound of each car, and even the honk are really cool and unique. The music also doesn't feel boring or repetitive while it's on loop, very well composed and arranged.

However, I did notice some bugs and issues. The first one is that when customers received and got into their cars, sometimes they were just frozen in place and not driving anywhere, which blocked the incoming traffic and made the level unable to complete. Second one is there was no boundary in the map, I tried walking off-screen and then came back, but then noticed I could not controlled my character anymore and he's just wandering around aimlessly. Or if I were in a car and drove off the map, then I pressed E to exit the car and my character got brought back to the starting point but the car wasn't, which resulted in missing that said car and hence the level was stuck. Although restart the level did fix those issues, but I didn't know if they might happen again on other levels.

But other than that, I really had an awesome experience playing this game! And you guys did manage to be able to complete and submit such a big entry on time is mind-blowing for me. Very impressive and astonishing job!

Flob the Bloing by Branquelo 2023-10-08T11:16:29Z

Very awesome platformer! The art style is really cute and squishy, I love it. The sound and music are really great too, really fitting with the squishiness look of Flob, although the music is a bit repetitive but it's tolerable. It took me a while to get used to the control inside the space (or liquid) blocks, but then it was fun and enjoyable once I got a hang of it.

My suggestions are add a little of coyote time for the player and look ahead time for the camera, because it's kinda hard to see what was going on ahead. And slow down the movement inside the liquid blocks a bit, that would make the controls more forgiving and easy to get used to.

Overall, very great and polished platformer guys! I had quite an amazing experience with it.

Bucket Buffet by Don Fouts 2023-10-10T14:25:59Z

Great concept, very well implemented too! The graphics is so nice, shout out to the designer, it actually made me feel really hungry by playing this before dinner lol! The audio is also great, I like the eating sound and the swooshing sound, they're pretty funny and really add up to the humor. But it'd be awesome if it had some piece of music that typically played in restaurants going on in the background, that would go really well with the ambient sound of customers it had there.

The controls are really simple and straightforward, but unfortunately my scroll wheel was broken so I couldn't rotate the food, but the drag and drop felt really nice and forgiving, so nicely done there. Although sometimes I grabbed a big food and it just collided with foods on the plate and knocked them to the floor, so I think the plate should be placed further away from the food source a bit to give some "room" between them, that would prevent the issue from happening.

But overall, this is a very interesting idea for a theme like this, really enjoyed the experience I had. Well done on this entry guys!

AnathemA by 3mpty 2023-10-09T13:22:16Z

Jezz, this game is so cool and addicting, the art style is insanely good, really set up the mood and overall atmosphere of a dark and perilous forest full of unknown monsters craving for your flesh and soul, definitely a solid 5-star for me! The audio is top notch also, that crawling sound of spiders really sends chills down my spine, and the gunshot sound is really crunchy and satisfying too.

I love the single-round reload mechanic for the guns, very well implemented, but it would be nice if some guns like the rifle and shotgun could be fired as soon as there's is at least 1 cartridge in the chamber, without waiting for all the cartridges to be loaded first in order to fire. Because it took a while to reload an empty rifle until it's full, in the meantime the enemies could have swarmed up and killed the player while they were waiting for the reload to finish. Giving the player an opportunity to shoot during reloading not only would it save them in some danger situations, but also made the reload more worthy and rewarding too.

Beside that, this is a really good entry, considering it being your first Godot game, I appreciated the effort you put into this little gem in such a short amount time of a Game Jam! Great job my man!

Compress(space) by Fahim Faysal 2023-10-07T16:19:18Z

Super cool and creative mechanic, I had a lot of fun playing the game! I thought it would be easy at first but it turns out to be really complicated and challenging later on. The simple graphics and post processing effects really brought the game to life. The sound is also great and suitable, it would have been nicer with a main theme music of some sort. Regardless, you did a great job on implementing this complex concept in such a small amount of time, gg!

Blade Jumper by DeadByDeath 2023-10-05T13:54:23Z

I won, but my poor Donnie is still nowhere to be found .

Anyway, I noticed there's some image glitches on the screen which sometimes appeared for a split second an then disappeared again. Sadly, as you mentioned, the power up thingies were broken and could not be used, I believe they would've made the gameplay a lot more fun. Lastly, I think you should make those melee enemies moving around or chasing after the player, that would make the combat more engaging, as of now I can just jump pass them and continue onwards to the finish.

But regardless, it was a really enjoyable experience, well done!

Inside the box by Animaster 2023-10-04T08:47:17Z

The graphics is really cute and crispy, the animation is flawless and smooth, the audio is sweet, and that opening cutscene really is a nice little touch. The game over screen is hilarious, I even remembered the text because I saw it too many times lol. Overall, this is the best entry I've came across so far, very well done guys!

Super Drillboy by jordantanner 2023-10-08T16:44:00Z

Pretty fun game, I love the easy control and turbo break mode! It was very thrilling and satisfying to drill through a bunch of blocks at fast speed. The graphics and audio are both nice and simple, especially the drilling sound. The auto checkpoint feature along the way is really well thought, it does open the chances for the player to continue before they have to restart over. And the leaderboard is a nice little touch too.

In conclusion, this is a nice entry with a well implemented idea, well done!

Rolling Over It by DanyVk 2023-10-19T16:58:21Z

Man, this game is really hard, but also addicting at the same time. I like the general idea and mechanics, super creative and cool! And the sound effects are nice too, subtle but satisfying.

But I'd suggest a quick tutorial at the beginning to show off the core mechanics and teach players how to play the game. Because it did take me a while to figure out how to move the dice properly, and to understand what the numbers on the dice are represented for. But once I got a hang of it, it was really fun and engaging to be honest, good job!

I really like the transformation of the dice into a ball after the numbers ran out, it actually made the player plan the move first before executing or the ball would catch them off guard. But one thing that bothered me was the angular drag of the dice in its cube form, I think increasing it just a little bit would have been nice since it was able to "roll" down the slopes quite easily, and you have no idea how irritating I was when that happened, I just wished it would stop rolling and let me take control but it didn't and fell all the way down to the bottom of the level.

Overall, great entry with a really well implemented idea, definitely hits me in the innovation aspect! Though I'm not sure if it goes well with the current theme, but I highly appreciate the efforts and dedications you put into it, well done!

Super Low Memory Bot by LaserPanzerWal 2023-10-08T09:39:53Z

What an amazing puzzle game, really fun and challenging levels, especially ones with the boxes, they took me a while to finally solve them and complete and game. I love the GameBoy graphics with the simple color palette, very nostalgic to see in modern days. The audio is perfect and very fitting, the music was short and simple but it's not boring when playing in loop. But I find that particular level with a lot of speed boosting tiles was kinda overkill, it makes my eyes a little tired to look at a bunch of animations being played at once in a long period of time.

Overall, very well done on the level design and mechanics, and nice interpretation on the theme!

FROUST! by Kupnu4 2023-10-12T17:25:40Z

Really nice and polished entry, love it! The graphics and animations are so smooth and cute, and the smacking sound just makes it even funnier, never thought it would be so addicting just to push snowmen off an sinking iceberg but here I am. Though the controls were a bit tricky at first because of the slippery but once I got a hang of it, it's just incredibly fun and engaging! Unfortunately my potato phone wasn't able to handle it very well so I can't tell how it performs on mobile devices, but I believe it wouldn't be too bad judging on how well performed the web version was.

Overall, great entry with a very creative yet simple idea, suits the theme really well, this has to be scored high in some categories once the results are announced. Good job on this one guys!

Rising Tides by Pierre Baudoin 2023-10-17T17:52:47Z

First thing, congrats on passing the 20-rating requirement and being eligible for scoring! I remembered bookmarking this game a few days ago because I was busy at the time, and it was at 16 or 17 ratings, up until today I have some free time so I gave it a try.

The first impression was the audio, it really had the intense, unescapable feeling of the rising water, very cool and well arranged. The graphics was also notable, low-poly but wasn't bad looking, I really like that. As for the gameplay, I was a bit confused at first but the tutorial did guide me through and helped me understand the core mechanics, I really liked the dilemmas appeared over time and forced you to make choices that affected your progress in many different ways. Though I failed the first time because of running out of workers but I managed to complete it on the second try. It was a really interesting and enjoyable experience I have to say.

After that, I did replay a couple more times and noticed a few things: - The camera was a bit too far away and restricted in movement, which made it difficult sometimes to click or focus on a specific building on the island, or simply to build things on a right place. I think having more controls over the camera would be a huge improvement for the overall enjoyment, like moving it around with WASD, zooming with the scroll wheel, and panning around freely by holding down a mouse button and dragging. - Sometimes it's hard to assign workers to buildings because there was no indicator or something that let me know which building the mouse was pointing at. So I had to click a few times to find out the right "spot" that allowed me to assign workers. - The tooltip for buildings wasn't working correctly, as I was hovering over the build UI and it just said "Test tooltip". - The balance was a bit off, because I tried assigning all the workers to the ship and a couple of farms on the highland to maintain the food, and I just sat there waited until the game was completed. This made the factory and dam unnecessary to be honest.

But at the end of the day, this is a really nice entry with a creative interpretation on the theme, and the fact that it's your first Godot game makes it even more impressive. Try leaving more helpful feedbacks on other games out there so yours has a higher chance to be discovered by more people, because the result day is near, and I wish you guys good luck on it!

Mechanizyn by Lincolnsalles 2023-10-15T17:10:07Z

This has to be the shortest game I've played so far, but that doesn't mean it's a badly done game, it's a great game I have to say. I really like the graphics and your art style, especially the fly, it looks exactly like how I imagine the real fly would look like close-up, so nicely done there! Sadly, there's no other sound apart from the electric sounds of the wires, but they sound pretty good for me! The second level doesn't look as simple as it seems, I did die a few times before making it to the end, which really interests me in what mechanics and ideas you could come up with on future levels.

I didn't encounter any major issues during the playthrough, the controls were simple and straightforward. But after a couple times replaying the game, I noticed that the energy wouldn't be regenerating as long as I kept holding down the "fly" key. It was a small issue but I think having the energy begun regenerating as soon as the insect touched the ground would be more appropriate, because it informs the player that they need to land to regenerate the energy first before being able to fly again.

Overall, it's a really nice entry, and it's also the first entry I've came across that was built using Construct 3. It's short and simple but the effort definitely goes in the opposite, and I totally appreciate that, well done!

Function f by Notinatal 2023-10-09T17:42:19Z

Wow, I've never thought of turning math into a game could be a good idea, but it's actually really fun and enjoyable, super creative interpretation of the theme! The game feels very polished and well thought, and I didn't expect the music of a math game to be such a banger, absolutely loved it!

The UI is also very clear, simple yet really readable, and that scene transition effect is a nice little touch too. But as some others have mentioned, I too found that the slider was kinda hard to see in the disabled state, making it bigger or changing the disabled color could be a good solution to consider.

Overall, really educational and innovative game! To be honest, math's never been my greatest strength, but through this game I actually enjoyed and learnt something for myself, very impressive job on this entry!

Whiskers in the Dark by Diego Teran 2023-10-10T17:10:05Z

Holy cow, this is a great game, super cool atmosphere you guys created! I really like the graphics and art style, those dynamic lighting effects literally BLEW me away, absolutely top notch! The sound effects are also great, the cat's meows are so adorable and lovely. The last level was quite challenging but I managed to finish it eventually, and helped our precious baby reunite with his friends!

Although I like the wall jump mechanic but it was a little tricky to get around in my opinion. Especially when moving up 1-block stairs, I was going forwards and pressed jump, but the game detected that wall and hence made the cat jump towards the opposite direction, as if I was wanting to perform a wall jump. I suggest that you guys should add some kind of height limit when check for whether the player should perform a wall jump, or should only do that if the cat was not grounded. And one more thing is when the cat was hanging on the wall, holding the "S" or "Down arrow" key would make the cat slide down faster, this would make the controls more forgiving and flexible, I actually got caught a few times because I was trying to get off the wall by pressing jump or the movement keys.

Other than that, the game feels really polished and well designed, I appreciated the amount of effort you guys put into this entry, especially the dynamic lighting, in such a small time frame! Very astonishing job!

The King is Watching by Tvorojok 2023-10-05T12:52:48Z

Other people already said what I want to say, very polished and well-laid elements. I didn't expect the final boss to be so strong that can kill my dragons in about 5 seconds, maybe consider to balance out the strength of each enemies a little bit. But regardless, this is a very impressive game and I enjoyed every second of it.

Misplace by Bassilij 2023-10-08T07:10:13Z

The atmosphere is on point, very scary and well represented along with the retro graphics and the screaming sound. But I didn't understand what was going on and what I needed to do, I tried to read the instruction but I kept on dying before I could think of what to do next, which is kinda annoying. Maybe you guys should create an on-screen tutorial on how interact with things or make the instruction note more readable. And it would be nicer if the interactable objects have some kind of highlight on them, so they'd be distinct from other decorations in the room.

Overall, great horror entry, well done guys!

DoomsdayTruck by OldDog 2023-10-07T13:57:15Z

Very well executed idea, I had a lot of fun playing it! I love the low-poly graphics and the scene lighting and color palette, they're very pleasing to the eyes. The audio is also great including the engine sound, the shooting sound and the damage sound. And the jam theme was represented very clearly through the mechanics.

But as some others have mentioned, I too found the keyboard controls were a bit off, and it took me a while to get used to the driving of the truck. One more thing is when the UI got brought up like picking passengers for example, the game got paused but the audio didn't, which makes the sound keep playing while I was focusing on the UI.

But anyway, this game has a lot of potential for postjam updates and improvements. What an amazing entry, my man!

OneSocket by r8teful 2023-10-04T17:13:28Z

A bit confusing about what I need to do, I don't know, but it's an interesting little game.

Indcosmus by milq 2023-10-06T17:26:16Z

Nice platformer you got there, you did the player movement very well with mechanics like varied jump height, acceleration and deceleration, free fall speed, all of that made the movement feel very natural and forgiving. And the graphics and audio are pretty good, you even made animations for the player and enemies, which is impressive given the short time period for Compo entries!

As the downside, I didn't quite used to the key binding of the game, like the "X" key for jump and "G" for restart. And the player can be killed in 1 hit by any enemies, after that I have to play the entire level again, which makes the game quite hard to say the least. I think you should add some kind of checkpoints at certain parts of the level, that would encourage players to continue playing if they failed.

Overall, it's a great game. You did an amazing job!

Re: Charge by polyforma42 2023-10-08T10:18:16Z

Really astonishing atmosphere with the dimly street light and the zombies, nice job! The pixel art is crispy and polished, I like the fact that you got separate sprites for each direction the player's aiming at. The sound effects are nice too with the gunshot and hurt sounds, they really made the experience more enjoyable.

But there're little things that I bothers me. First is the difficulty curve, the game gets hard really quickly, roughly around 1 minute from the start, I didn't even get pass 50% of the battery before I died. Second, I found out that it's hard to deal damage to the zombies sometimes, maybe because of the hitbox is rather small or the bullets just failed to detect for collision against them.

But regardless, this is a very well done entry with a simple and fun gameplay, and don't forget the mood is peak. I liked it a lot!

Prickle by Kultuk 2023-10-05T09:52:40Z

Very good entry with cute hand-drawing graphics, adorable audio. unique gameplay and polished like an artisan's gem. You guys nailed every single aspect of it, super well done!

Gacha Fever by Falestress 2023-10-11T17:38:21Z

Jezz, this game is really polished and well implemented, really like the art style, it super cute and pretty! Though I was a little confuse at first on what I needed to do but it didn't take too long to get used to, and it was an amazing experience I had! The audio is really cool too, the chilling music, the shooting and spawning sounds, all were arranged and composed nicely.

I like the concept of the continuously shrinking area, really fit the limited space theme. But I think the black hole attacks of some enemies were a little bit overkill, because they could easily swarm up and take most of the space in the area, which made it difficult to avoid other enemies while having to keep an eye on the shrinking area and those black holes at the same time. My suggestion is that make them disappear after a while, reduce the using rate of said attack, or just reduce the circle radius a little bit, that would create more "breathing room" for the player and make the experience more forgiving and enjoyable.

In conclusion, this is an amazing entry for a short jam like this, hat off to those who worked on this and managed to pack a huge amount of content and polishing in such a small time period. I'm totally impressed!

LiGHTHOLDER by wolkp 2023-10-07T17:00:23Z

Oh my lord! The amount of polishing in this game is insane, and you even did all of this under 72 hours! I'm totally impressed. The graphics is very well done, you even got animations for everything. And the sound effect is just chef-kiss, they're so crunching and satisfying so hear, at first I think it's missing some music, but the sound alone makes that doesn't matter anymore. One thing that bothers me was the wood requirement for many of tasks such as buying upgrades and repairing the lighthouse, it was a little bit too much compares to stones and irons, which makes it seem unbalanced because I had lots of stones left before the game ends.

Overall, this is definitely one of my favorite entries on LD, super well done! Can't wait for the postjam version if you ever planning to do so, it just has so much potential.

Stellar Fracture by epic_zeta 2023-10-06T17:58:53Z

Great entry, I like the graphics and the animation, especially the shield effect and the trail of meteorites. The opening cutscene is cool, that explosion was very well done, really telling the story of the player. The audio is also great with the exploding sound and music. But I don't know why the player's health keep increasing pass the cap of 100, and the dragging control is a little bit off, I couldn't quite get them falling onto the target I aimed at. Overall, I appreciate the effort you put into this one, good job sir!

Limited Delivery by Ylaxus 2023-10-05T13:27:06Z

You made your custom engine and used it in a game jam? That's a straight 5 stars on innovation for me sir, you did an impressive job!

U-TRIP by QYQ 2023-10-07T17:31:14Z

Pretty nice entry! Good pixel graphics, that little robot protagonist looks very cute. The sound effects and music are good too, really fit with the outer-space environment. But some have really high volume compare to the rest tho, especially the death and laser beam sounds, they suddenly freaked me out most of the time, and lower the audio slider kinda helps but it also makes the music almost inaudible.

Overall, well done on the game guys, that was an enjoyable experience!

Laboratory of Doom by Constance 2023-10-03T18:06:45Z

@waded Sorry to hear that, but it's because of some bugs I missed out on the development process. I've posted a changelog about it just now, they're fixed and good to go.

@anper @verttixpertti @pierre-marie @cobaltjt @kairoseyoshi

Thank you all for those very valuable feedbacks! I noted down all of the issues and bugs you guys were facing, especially the one that can not open the Inventory was a game-breaking problem. So I got to work and managed to fix them as fast as I can, you can check the changelog above for more detail.

The newest version are live now, at least those bugs won't remain a problem for future players.

Again, thank you all for playing and rating my game!

@bucharlardy @shmi Thank you all for playing and rating my game!

@laserpanzerwal @alanushke

Thank you for the feedbacks! I found out that the Inventory could not be opened again once you closed it with the button on the UI. I've just uploaded a quick fix and it should be gone now, sorry for the inconvenience. I wasn't descriptive enough in the control section that you can close the Inventory by pressing F again instead of clicking the UI button.

Laboratory of Doom by Constance 2023-10-06T16:24:13Z

@epic-zeta Sorry to hear that, I've just changed the build template to default, you can check it out again to see if it's working for you.

Hydro Rise by fatEmperor 2023-10-08T16:23:16Z

Wow, the first Unreal Engine entry I came across! The graphics is very beautiful, I like the chromatic aberration effect and color changing when the player is submerged, combined with the bubble sound, they really capture the underwater feeling and atmosphere. Although the idea was simple, but the continuous rising of water really made it feel tense and thrilling.

The download size is kinda large for a jam game, I suggest trying to optimize it to reduce the size next time. And the levels are a little repetitive, something like doors to open of obstacles to avoid would be nice to see.

But overall, great solo entry with Unreal! You did a good job!

Minefield Rehearsal by yifengqing 2023-10-04T07:11:57Z

Nice concept you got there, very different, and I like the hand-drawing graphics. But it took me a while to figure out how an active skill would be activated, it'd be nice to include that in the rules as well.

Lab Job! (Play In-Browser) by Smitner 2023-10-08T13:08:23Z

Man, the setting of the crime scene was really good! I really like those little additions to the original sokoban mechanics like dissolving bodies with acid, diluting the acid with water (I don't know what exactly they are, but they do look like water for me), or putting stuff on the pallets first before loading them on the truck. The pixel art is really good and detailed, I like the little fluid animation of the acid, very cool. The audio is nice too, from the fizzing sound to the truck's engine, really made the game more enjoyable.

But I noticed one thing that when I packed all the stuff and the truck started leaving, then I accidentally pressed "R" and the whole level restarted, and that was the last level too. I suggest that you should add a condition check to prevent pressing "R" once the truck starts leaving.

But other than that little thing, I had a wonderful experience playing it! You did an amazing job!

FELL OUT by daveranan 2023-10-06T14:29:53Z

Wow, this blew my mind, what an amazing entry! I like almost everything about this game, from the calming music, the funny dialogue, the simple graphics and smooth animation. But I noticed there're some places that prevent the player from walking into, like some sort of colliders, so I have go around the island to get to the other side, kinda annoying. But you guys have done so much things in such a small amount of time, very impressive. Can't wait for the full game!

Trash.exe by Natano 2023-10-15T06:53:06Z

Maybe I'm kinda late to the party but anyway, really nice idea you guys got there. I like the recreation of Windows out of pixel art and the animation of the enemy programs, very distinctive and intriguing! The audio is also great, the fact that each program has its own boss music is a nice touch, it really highlights their characteristics.

The fights did seem to be inspired from Undertale, which is really good don't get me wrong but the controls was a bit confusing to get used to at first, especially when the delete button showed up and I didn't know what to do next because the attack button wasn't working as I kept pressing it, until I realized I had to get really close to the boss for it to work. And you might have been killed along the way because you didn't have time to react to incoming attacks, it would've made the experience more enjoyable if you were allowed to attack at anytime as long as the delete button showed up, without having to get real close to the boss.

And one more thing is when the player died, the "Uninstall failed" message showed up and after they pressed "OK", the fight would restart automatically instead of kicking the player out and they had to do the restart manually. This could be a tedious process on higher difficulty because you might have failed a lot of times, and for each time you had to manually start the fight again, which took a decent amount of time and greatly reduced the replay value as well as the overall enjoyment.

But with that said, this is a really cool entry with a nice take on the theme! Might need some polishing and balancing to make it more approachable for future players, but at the end of the day, I had quite an amazing experience playing it, congrats on your first game guys!

Celestial Retaliation by Digol 2023-10-07T14:28:44Z

Great entry guys! The pixel art is really cool and detailed, I really adore the menu screen, it looks so cool and majestic! The menu music is also good, very relaxing. But I think the movement speed of the player's ship is kinda slow compares to the enemies, which makes it difficult to land hits on enemies and dodge incoming bullet. And it'd be nice if you guys made the player's ship auto shoot instead, because my finger was tired from keep pressing the mouse in order to shoot bullets in a long period of time.

Other than that, you guys did a good job on the first entry of Ludum Dare! Cheers!

Borderline by Tzeo 2023-10-05T13:07:18Z

The music is good, fitting with the detective vibe, I think the game has underlying potential once it finished, game-making is not an easy task for everyone after all, I acknowledged the effort you put into it.

LD55 — Summoning

Deep by MaggardJosh 2024-04-24T13:55:14Z

Man, this game is just so addicting in its own way! I really loved the simple graphics and geometry, and the animations combined with the sound effects that the main character made are absolutely adorable, he's just so tiny and squishable lol.

Many things was done right in this game, from the engaging experience from exploring and gathering resources, to the suitable choice of music and sound effects. All that combined created a very pleasing and enjoyable gameplay for players, and super replay-able too!

The only thing I'd like to suggest is a better inventory management system, instead of throwing all the stuff on the ground it'd nice to have some kind of storage or item container at the base. That'd also prevent circle-shape items from rolling down the slopes and into the water. And improve the interaction mechanics to pick up multiple items at once, instead of having to spam E at the pile of clustered items until you get the one you want.

But regard to the limited time for Compo entries, I understand that those aforementioned mechanics can take a lot of effort and time to be done right. But I'd like to see how they'll turn out in a post-jam version of this little gem, if you decided to take it further of course.

Anyway, this is one hell of a Compo submission I have to say, I had such a fun and relaxing experience playing it! Excellent job!

Sophia's Spirit Journey by ryusui 2024-04-23T10:14:50Z

Loved the idea of switching between characters and taking advantages of their abilities on certain part of the level. And the 3D graphics was really well made, I'm impressed that you were being able to model all these characters and objects in such a such time frame.

The level design and overall gameplay was pretty good, but just like you mentioned, the collapsing platforms was a bit off since the character can still stand on them after they fell off. And I think the enemies were moving a little too fast which makes some areas difficult to get pass. And some transition gates were too close to a dead source like lava or spikes, I think lengthen the safe area around those gates a bit would be a thing to consider, because I died quite a number of times just because I didn't have time to react after a "sudden danger" after a zone transition.

But there're some other things I want to point out. First being the lack of some kinds of tutorial to guide the player through the controls and core mechanics of the game, as I find myself struggled on some parts of the level because I couldn't figure out the controls needed, like falling through those blue platforms at the beginning of the game.

As for the second, I think the dead animation was taking a bit too much time, like 3-4 seconds or so. At first, it was no big deal, but it might become annoying on some hard parts of the level because the player might die a lot, which costs their patience and reduces replay-ability.

Anyway, this is a very neat submission nonetheless, I genuinely appreciate the effort you put into this, great job!

Fiend-Zone by gord10ahmet 2024-04-30T13:16:36Z

Nice little entry you got there! The graphics is simple but doesn't look out of place and the animations really made everything look more lively, the sound effects are good too, but I think some creepy or moody music would have boosted the overall atmosphere and experience a bit more.

I played both versions of the game, it was nice to see that some of the crucial issues had been fixed, definitely enhanced the gameplay a lot. But there're some minor issues I'd like to point out in the post-jam version, such as some black lines or gaps can be seen sometimes between the tiles, especially when the player was being attacked, of course they affected nothing to the gameplay, but very noticeable regardless. And the player was drawn behind the walls, which looked kinda weird standing close to the upper walls as your head was clipped behind them.

Anyway, this is a very interesting entry to play, I liked that some of your summons can be hostile to yourself too. Amazing job, man!

Tao by leorean 2024-04-25T08:56:28Z

One of the few PICO-8 entries out there, but definitely one of the best! This game reminded me of _sinclairstrange's_ __Tiny Temple__ from the previous Ludum Dare, both simple and engaging entries. I loved the your art style and the choices of sound effects, they do give me the vibe of video games from the late 90s, very retro-esque and nostalgic.

But the thing that really stands out here is the level design, you really thought of the use of different summoning powers at different parts of the level. Like when the player hadn't acquired a specific power they could only take a certain way to a specific exit, but when the power was acquired, the player could use that said power to open up other ways that leaded to other exits, which were previously unreachable. That alone really nailed the gameplay and replay-ability for me, because it encouraged the player to return to previous areas and explore new ways.

Some levels actually required me to spend some time thinking of the solution in order to get pass, but when I did it was very rewarding and satisfying! I think the only thing I'd like to point out is the player kept playing the walking animation while both movement buttons were being pressed, but that's just a minor issue and didn't affect the overall gameplay.

Overall, this is a very great entry, a lot of things were done perfectly, I do wish you good scores when the day comes, because you and your effort deserve to be recognized. Well done!

Hell's Kitchen by Zanar 2024-04-22T18:02:37Z

Interesting idea you guys got there, I really like the outline art style, it's simple but doesn't look too bland, and the main character has sprites in all 4 directions is very nice too. And the sound he made while dancing is absolutely hilarious, love that!

But there're some issues and bugs I encountered though and I have too point them out here. The first being the controls at the main menu were wrong, the Q and E buttons was swapped with the A and D, which really bothers me cause I keep pressing the wrong ones during invocations.

Second, I think the difficulty of the game is a little bit too hard, the customers gave no hints of which type of demons they might want for their situations, and the time required to deliver is too short, by the time I finished memorizing the dance sequence the customer was already gone. I think you should make something like a thinking bubble shows which demon the customer wants, and lengthen the wait time a little bit, it'd give the player a moment to "breathe" and make the gameplay more enjoyable.

Third, sometimes I pressed Q to begin the invocation process before accepting the customer's request and then the player just stuck at the sigil for a brief moment. And after the game over screen showed up, I hit "Retry" and interacted with the book, suddenly the game backed to the main menu as soon as I quitted reading, which was kinda annoying because I needed to manually start a new game for the problem to go away.

But beside all those issues the game itself is actually pretty fun to play, it just need a little polishing and bugfixes. After all, consider the short time frame of a game jam, you guys did a great job on this one, congrats!

-Phonebook of Dragon-ヤクザ電話帳 by AegisFate 2024-04-20T17:30:08Z

The art says it all here, I'm absolutely in awe that you guys made such complicated and high quality arts in such a short amount of time. The music is also very fitting for the retro aesthetic of Japanese in the late 90s to early 2000s. Very well done!

The only issue I found, as some people might have pointed out, is that the game window isn't fitting onto the page on some browsers. And when I went to full-screen mode, there's still a part of the WebGL's bottom bar shown within the screen, as if the aspect ratio doesn't really match the common 16:9 monitors.

But other than that, this is indeed a banger of a jam submission, great job y'all!

The Summoner Stone -- LD 55 by Beebster Games 2024-04-17T14:04:20Z

Simple idea and simple mechanics, but it's fun and enjoyable though don't get me wrong.

But the difficulty is a little bit hard though, the orcs spawn way too fast and easily overwhelm the player, not too mention they shoot simultaneously, which makes it kinda hard to dodge all the fireball and once they hit you just die like immediately.

Another suggestion I'd like to give is to make the hold to shoot feature for the player, because my finger was a little tired because of spamming the mouse in a long period of time.

Anyway, congrats on the submission, sir!

Ghostslayer by ThatFirey 2024-04-18T06:51:21Z

What a cute game with great graphics and diverse variety of sounds! It does give me a retro kinda vibe of some shooter games from the early 2000s. I had a really enjoyable and fun experience playing it!

But there're some issues I'd like to point out. First, it took me a while to get used to the controls and upgrade mechanics. They're a bit confusing because I didn't know how to select an upgrade at first, until I figured out that I needed to press the buttons in a correct order, and then had to click on the upgrade to finally select it, but it took me a couple retry attempts though. I think some sort of tutorial would've helped a lot on teaching the player how the mechanics work. And it would be nice if the game was paused whenever the book is opened, I couldn't have count how many times I died just because I was busy on figuring out what buttons to press and the enemies just did and onslaught with their hell out bullets and projectiles.

Second, the pause feature was off, I couldn't un-pause the game after I paused it, no matter what buttons I tried to press, so to get around that I had to manually reload the page and start over. I'd suggest making the feature toggleable, by pressing the ESC key to switch between Pause and Un-pause states.

Third, the game window was cut off a little bit at the bottom so I couldn't see the health bar and upgrade. To get around this I had to go to full-screen mode by pressing F11 on the browser.

But overall, solid entry you guys got here and I appreciate the effort put into this, well done y'all!

Necrogirl by Constance 2024-04-20T13:50:33Z

@ismael-rodriguez Woahh, thanks for the really long and informative feedback, my guy! I agreed with those suggestions you made there, because right now the units and enemies have really basic stats, lack of some defensive stats like defense, resistant to specific type of damage, etc... But because of the lack of time and the natural of game jam, we have to cut off some mechanics planned early on to make it easy for the debugging and playtesting process.

After this jam, we have planned to develop this game further and maybe make it into a Steam-scaled game, so we've noted all your suggestions! We already have some ideas in mind right now like an upgrade system, a wave system, bosses, buffs and de-buffs, status effect, etc... and we're excited to see how they'll turn out in the future. Again, thank you so much for a very dedicated feedback.

@rendow Thanks for the feedback man, I'm glad that you're enjoying this little game of ours! We've decided to develop this game further and maybe make it into Steam, so seeing your comment fortifies that decision even more! We already have some interesting ideas in mind right now, so let us wait and see how they'll turn out in the future. And thanks for recommending that video of Chris Zukowski! I'll definitely look into that later when I have time.

Luna's Ritual by cmakota 2024-04-25T16:11:47Z

This is such a lovely platformer! I really adored the pixel art style and color palette you chose there, looked very forest-ish with a little bit of mystic and magical touches. And the calm music was icing on the cake, together they added up to the overall mood and atmosphere, encouraged the player to keep playing and be immersed in the beauty of the environment.

The gameplay was enjoyable and the controls was forgiving, though a little bit of coyote time before jumping off platforms would be nice, because it gives the player a bit "extra" steps and reaction time while they're being chased by enemies.

But I think the balancing was a little bit off at the beginning, as enemies spawned way too fast that they easily overwhelmed the player in number. And the fact that enemies' projectiles flew through terrain made it difficult to avoid when the player hadn't got many upgrades yet. However, the final boss was really well thought out, he had many attack patterns and movement behaviors, which made the fight more intense and really set off the feeling of a mighty final boss. The only thing I'd like to suggest is some anticipation frames for his laser attack, something like he was charging up for a second before firing, it would give the player some time to react and dodge, as it was his strongest attack anyway. To be honest, I was hit by that twice and it nearly wiped out my health bar, but luckily he managed to beat him eventually, and having about 1/10 of health left lol.

But regardless, this is a very solid and well executed entry, I'd like to see a post-jam version of this at some time if you guys decided to take it further, because I think it has a lot of potentials and possibilities for a full-scaled game. Astonishing job, y'all!

LD57 — Depths

Align The Sea by CursedEmbassy 2025-04-09T17:07:06Z

I liked the cover art and intro cutscene. The core mechanics is clear but it would be nice to have a tutorial or just an on-screen instruction to show how things work. Also, the mix between 2 different art styles was a bit inconsistent in my opinion. But overall, anyone's good at certain things in life, so keep up the good work!

The Chromatic Window by egawag 2025-04-11T11:55:43Z

This is not a game, it's a movie, or more precisely, it's an interactive playback of one's memories. I can't believe I just sat there for half an hour listening to 3 random strangers talking about their life, their struggles, their "memories". As a fellow game developer who self-taught himself over the year, trying to get better everyday, I relate so much about this.

I liked how you guys interpreted the theme as the depth of emotional, the depth of one's memories. It really adds the uniqueness and difference. At first I was surprised about the size of the download, but then I realized you guys put all your previous jam entries into it to make a "credits" to stroll through each of them as you talked about how it was done. That is very clever and cool in my opinion.

But overall, this entry might not be the best in most people's eyes, but for those who enjoy listening to deep stories being narrated thoroughly, like me, it's just good y'know, in its own way. Well done to all 3 of you!

Spider Cave Offensive by Cardboard Box 2025-04-11T15:04:04Z

One of the few PICO-8 entries out there, and I love PICO-8 games, as they remind me of the bygone era of 8-bit visual. The art style is very good, especially the spider animation, the way you animate its legs was really clever, it was not so overly complex but still captured the spider-like movement, super cool!

I was a bit confuse with the controls at first but eventually got used to it, and thanks to gods that I could hold the arrow keys to keep mining forwards, lol. But there's one thing that bothered me was the mining sound, it felt nice at the beginning but then it became slightly annoying because it got repeated so many times. I think if you toned down its volume or just played it less frequently, it would definitely improve the overall experience on extended play.

But other than that nit-picking thing of mine, this is a really great entry, I bet it already wins the heart of those PICO-8 suckers out there, well done!

Through the Brush by JDeeDubs 2025-04-08T16:15:34Z

First off, this is a really cool entry you guys got there, so congrats!

After playing it, I would say the character controls are a bit sudden and snappy, it took me a moment to get used to how it behaves. But I really liked the paper-like flipping when he changes directions, it suits the art style well. Also he will stuck into trees or obstacles if I make him jump into them, but this might be a minor collider issue so it wouldn't affect much.

About the layer switching mechanic, I think this is the first time I've seen a game using this to blend between 2D and 3D looks, so the innovation and creative is off-the-chart for me!

Lastly, the zoom out feature was nice but it made the framerate drop substantially, even with a decently fast internet connection like myself still suffered the stuttering during transitions. So I think on lower-end devices or users with slow internet connection, it would cause freezing or even crashing.

But overall, this is a solid entry from your team and I appreciate the effort as well as time y'all poured into this, well done!

A Final Deed by 0X_VOID_X0 2025-04-11T16:43:54Z

I loved the visual, and the way you interpreted the theme as emotional/mental depths was really clever. The music is also great, it's not getting boring or annoying on extended play, but rather calm and peaceful in some way, so nicely done there.

The core mechanic is really innovative too, different elements were corporate appropriately, not making it too repetitive but also keeping the player engaged. And the leaderboard is just a finishing touch to it, really adds up to the replay-ability.

One thing I noticed is the text concluding player's results after each session was a bit hard to see because it was blue color on top of a blue background during level transitions. But that is just a minor issue so it wouldn't affect much.

Overall, this is a rock solid entry! And as others have said it does in fact retain special for anyone playing it, amazing job!

Hooky Fish by DurkaGames 2025-04-16T06:06:17Z

@xwilq @aviolin @gquibao @fliegen @rinevard @gold-daniel

Thank you guys so much for these valuable feedback! They mean a lot to us in improving this awesome little game!

We've noted all of them down and we have to agree that some aspects still feel a bit off. But we are working on the polishing, bug fix, and quality of life patches right now, so stay tuned for that!

Into The Abyss by Constance 2025-04-09T06:28:33Z

Thank you all for the feedback!

@prepe Haha! Good to hear that our trick of hiding chests behind decorations and environmental objects works well! It's easy to miss them if you not paying attention, but it does add up to the excitement when you manage to discover them yourself. And about those bugs you mentioned, I've noted them in the "Known Issues" section above, and I agreed that the jumping logic is still a little to be desired, and the health potions are a bit glitchy sometimes when you collect them. But I will address all of them in the next hotfix patch of the game, so stay tuned!

@bigwhiteshogun We're glad you pleased with the visuals! We poured more efforts into graphics this time compares to previous LDs, so it feels really nice to see our you guys appreciate them, just like we do. About the moon-like gravity you mentioned, we are aware that the jumping logic is still a bit off, mostly because it's our first time doing the movement logic for platformers, so it definitely needs more tweaking. But anyway, congrats for beating our game!

@transkuja Thank you! It is indeed a challenging game, but I think you'd get a hang of it pretty quick. You might feel stuck when digging horizontally because the character needs a 2-tile gap to walk through, but I admit that the digging range for diagonal tiles is a bit short, making it hard in certain situations. We'll adjust it more and perhaps adding a visual indicator to show which tile you are currently digging, we think it'd improve the overall experience.

@ranzor Thanks for playing our game! Glad you enjoyed it.

@dzugaru Thank you for the kind words! The map is done completely by hand for now, but we are planning on generating it procedurally in the future, possibly in the post-jam version because it requires a lot of time on implementation, but we believe that it'd worth efforts.

@jackofcups Thank you! We wish you luck on collecting all of them chests! A little hint is: "Pay attention on your surrounding, they might be hidden somewhere."

@letabouret We're glad you liked it! It's our first time doing tilemaps for a platformer game so it might look off in some aspects, but we'll improve them in the future.

@wheelsx Thank you! Yeah the jumping logic does get glitchy sometimes, but we might put some kind of easter eggs over the mountains there, we think they would act as rewards for some curious players.

Thanks for playing our game! Your feedback was very important for us in improving this game even further. We are acknowledged those issues you guys mentioned, especially the floaty-ish effect of the player's movement, or the strange behaviour of the health potions where you got push around randomly on collect.

Because of that, we were working hard recently to fully addressed those issue. And now, I'm happy to announce that the __latest patch__ is now __LIVE__ on itch.io! This patch resolves most of the aforementioned issues, plus a little polishing works to make the game feels nicer and improve the overall experience.

We were planned on doing more like adding easter eggs, a pause menu, and much more. But that was against the main rules of the jam so we'll leaving those awesome features for a __post-jam__ version after the rating period ends. So be sure to stay tuned for that as well!

Last words, I hope you enjoy the newest patch, and also, have a good day, or night, depends on where you are! Cheers!

@platonenko Thanks for playing our game! Glad that you enjoyed it.

@skosnowich Thank you! At first the gameplay tab in the settings was empty, but when we added the depth meter we realized that why not adding an option to switch between different unit systems? As that would be helpful because there are jammers all over the globe, so we wanted everyone to be able to enjoy the game to the fullest! And for the inner corner tiles don't line up, that is because this was our first time doing tilemaps for a platformer, so there was some mistakes during the map design, but don't worry, they will be fix in the __post-jam__ version.

@byebye Thank you! I admit that health potions are a little rare sometimes, but the traps don't deal a lot of damage either, so you might not need them that many of them. But that is an important thing for us to keep in mind as well, as there will be more things that can harm the player in the future than just traps, so your feedback is noted!

@olenikimid We are happy that you liked the game! We are indeed have a lot of cool stuff planned for the __post-jam__ version, like procedural generations, enemies, upgrades, etc. So only time will tell how this little game turns out in the future! But for now, we are proud of what it already is.

@wouter52 Thank you for the detailed feedback! The crates are supposed to be breakable by the player by swinging his pickaxe at them, and they do have a chance to drop health potions too! I assume they are missing visual indicators or perhaps an instruction when you first see them. But regardless we really appreciate your honest feedback!

Into The Abyss by Constance 2025-04-14T15:42:43Z

@binaryprinciple Hey thanks for the feedback, glad that you enjoyed our little game! And to answer your question, no, the map was done by hands for now because we didn't have enough time to make it procedurally generated. But we in fact planned to have a procedural map generator in the future, so that each time you play there'd be a whole different place to explore. That'd be a lot of fun!

Echo-Of-Fallens by caffeinetrip 2025-04-10T15:16:54Z

Outstanding visual style and atmosphere, amazing job! The eerie music and sound effects really add up to the dark, unease, and creepy feeling. I loved how there was no main menu or anything, just a single title scene to tell the overall context, which reminds me of games like Limbo or Inside.

I tried to go around the map after taking all 3 scrolls, expected it to have anything more to collect or just to see if it would end, by it seemed to be endless, and it took me a while to get back to the first room because I was at a coordinate of like 50-60-ish haha!

There's nothing to say bad about this game, even if it does I think it would be that the game doesn't support WASD movement input. But regardless, this is a solid entry for the mood category, hope to see it got a decent placement, as it already takes 1st place in my own result!

. by protzz 2025-04-09T16:01:25Z

This is a really really solid entry, and it was made by only 1 person, within 48 hours? You've blown my mind, man, congrats!

I liked the concept of this, although I barely know how to play cards irl, but you made the core mechanics so easy to understand, even with me, so kudos for that! You said this merely a prototype showcasing how the original idea in you head would have looked like, but there are a lot of stuff in this already, so I can't wait to check out the final version in the future!

The only issue I noticed is just some typos and formatting problems in some of the texts on the UI, but overall, this is definitely a top contender for the trophies this time, astounding job!

LD59 — Signal

Zigna Down by tukisboolukis 2026-04-25T08:51:25Z

Cool game! I really like the arts and color palette, the green-ish tone fits well with the alien, while the dark blue-ish suits the abandoned atmosphere at Earth, well done!

Signal Epsilon by automatonvx 2026-04-26T09:10:08Z

Cool game with a moody atmosphere! I like the overall eerie setting with the low-poly graphics and chill music. One thing that annoys me the most was the mouse cursor didn't lock and confined within the game window, making it difficult to turn the camera around. Regardless, nice work on this solo entry of yours!

Sound Signals by pres2300 2026-04-23T03:30:59Z

I don't know what to say, it's, unique? I liked the overall concept and gameplay, and having hear all 4 sounds at the end was nice. But I think the levels were kind of empty, which made them rather bland and exhaustive when I'm looking for the portal. Adding simple trees, bushes, or decorations would definitely make them better for navigations in my opinion.

Regardless, cool little game! It's just a bit short, and totally didn't expect spooky twists on the 2nd and 3rd levels either haha.

Router Wilds by Brainoid 2026-04-21T16:31:33Z

Great game with minimalistic graphics, what blown me away the most is the amount of polishing work you guys have done, super well done! This is by far the best-suited game for the theme of Signal in my opinion.

The main mechanics took me a bit to get used to, but it was really fun when I got the hang of it. Also, I loved the Outer Wilds spin you guys did with the game name lol.

Deep Conversation by Paulsams 2026-04-26T07:34:04Z

Cool idea and execution! Even though I'm not so sure what I should be doing to progress, but figuring things out myself feels really fun.

You guys were able to pull this massive idea of communication through sounds and stuff within 3 days of the jam is very ambitious, astounding job!

rescue signal by OldDog 2026-04-25T08:05:51Z

Cool game! I like the progression system and the feedback of the mining mechanic, also the sound design was spot on with the block-breaking sound effects, it really added up onto the overall enjoy-ability.

The only thing I wish was a faster progression for the player., also I did find a bug where you could continue playing after the oxygen ran out, I was able to get a few more extra ores before backing to the upgrade area lol.

Seeking The Signal by Jesse Martin 2026-04-25T07:31:30Z

Such a moody point-and-click game, I like the overall atmosphere and lonely feel.

However, the main mechanics are hard to understand, I've got myself a gas can and a water bottle and was stuck like 10 minutes trying to find the next clue, until I moved the cursor over the main road and finally being able to go to the main road and met a stranger.

I think having more hints or some types of dialogues would be nice to guide the player in the right directions. But regardless, this is still a unique entry and a good use of the theme, well done!

Stray Flare by The Spinning Sofa 2026-04-26T08:26:31Z

Excellent game! I like the twist on regular 2D platformer by making it 3D so you can move in every direction instead of just left and right. The low-poly/hand-drawn graphics and audio design were very nice too, give me the feeling of games like Don't Starve and Outer Wilds. Also, the ending was surprising and caught me off-guard!

The only thing bothers me was the compass, I think it should rotate the middle arrow instead of the outer ring, took me a few minutes to figuring out the navigations. But other than that, this is a very solid entry for just 3 days, you guys cooked!

Video Signal Lost by Xaklor 2026-04-26T08:43:23Z

Fun little game! I couldn't progress much at first until I found a good weapon, so it might have some RNG with the level generation. Speaking of which, I love the randomly generated system of the dungeon layout, it really added the depth when retrying. Though the sonar detection mechanic could have some improvements as I'm still confused of how it actually work. Overall, nice work for a first jam guys!

Joe's Alien Assault by aruseus 2026-04-25T08:26:47Z

Interesting little game, and the fact it was code in C without a game engine is really impressive on it own! The only thing that bothered me the most was the shooting sound was really loud and a bit annoying. But other than that, you did an amazing job completing this in time of the jam!

Cell Clicker by Floonace 2026-04-26T06:46:10Z

I also encountered similar issue as others, the small cell appeared on screen for a few seconds and the game was fine, I was able to move around and stuff. But as soon as the cell disappeared, the game froze and didn't receive any inputs. I also tried to mute my machine but sadly to no avails.
