Welcome!
This was fun! I kept trying to build up a big shield, but I could never get by the lasers at the end until I tried just flying up as fast as possible. It was satisfying to finally get the "You won" message. (Though right after that, I lost due to running out of oxygen!)
Interesting thought
Love the creative way the shield was an asset and a liability! I was a bit confused about the big asteroids; I guess they are harmless? Nice interpretation of the theme!
This one is a really neat and fun take on the theme. Most people have an unmoving "limited space" but yours is actually moving. Very cool, good job guys!
This screams pick-up-and play, with the controls already figured out. Nice work.
Very good game, Make my Binzhou spin, Love comes from America
Pretty nice entry! Good pixel graphics, that little robot protagonist looks very cute. The sound effects and music are good too, really fit with the outer-space environment. But some have really high volume compare to the rest tho, especially the death and laser beam sounds, they suddenly freaked me out most of the time, and lower the audio slider kinda helps but it also makes the music almost inaudible.
Overall, well done on the game guys, that was an enjoyable experience!
Moody and nice game! I like the simple but nice graphics!
An interesting game, but it ends pretty quickly
UWU!
Cool concept, well done!
I really enjoyed the idea, it was easy to understand and overall a nice experience ! In the beginning, i sometimes though some background elements were projectiles because of the same color palette but i got used to it quickly. I lost once because of a ray that was outside of my screen i believe.
I managed to win first time 0 deaths, then tried again and couldn't get past the lasers, no idea how I did it before aha
Despite the very simple graphics, I really liked the idea and the atmosphere, the music really is a spacey vangelis type theme, pleasant. Unfortunately, the difficulty increased too much at the beginning, making it almost impossible to pass, so I gave up. Asteroids disappearing when I touch them doesn't make sense either, I think. But overall it was a great idea
Thanks for your ratings and feedback!!!
Try to use key 'SPACE',maybe it will be easier. And Use your shield against meteorites. The ufo will GAMEOVER directly if it hits a meteorite. I've got plenty of cylinders for you in the early stages, so that you can move on to the second stage without pressure and try to get more cylinders, and you'll find that the meteorite is very easy! @lincolnsalles
Hehe! : ))) **Great game, guys!**
This was super cute!!! And actually... this is a *very* solid core loop!!! I enjoyed that there are several things happening at once... the gravity pull you activate makes you careful since if you are not big enough you may "lose weight" but otherwise, the items that grow you are your target. **I very much enjoyed the *space feeling*! :)))**
I liked the progression with the lazers who make it harder and the fact that you are not harshly punished even if they hit you (only you grow smaller).
Ultimately, I won the game. It's a great and sweet entry!!! Although.. a *very* short one! Sweet tune too!
**Here are a few tips/ideas**:
**1)** I didn't understand it was a *shield* until I read the description (one UX note: many people don't read text, especially if its one big paragraph. You can try putting headings (to catch attention of the most important stuff)
But just a few... when these grow people again don't read. Also **bolds** help when a longer sentences : ))
**2)** You *could* look into some kind of procedural/pseudo random generation / also to generate more stuff when progressing through the level (you could even make it infinite and track a score). My game uses something like this and creates the illusion of A LOT of content!
**3)** Some randomization (e.g. on the initial player position) would make every run different :P / this Can achieve higher replayability :P
**4)** It would be awesome if the game is a bit longer, even if no pseudo-generation , but I guess that's up to time you had for it : )))
**I have no major complaints with the entry itself, liked it quite a lot :))) GJ!**
PS: have you played Osmos? The game reminded me of it with the growing and "eating" mechanic ^^
@aweskybear That's good idea!!!
We encountered some troubles during the development process, which caused the level design to be very hasty. We are very sorry.
You're right!Maybe we should make background decorations darker.
In LD54,we cannot spend some time to make some randomization, and in my opinion, I prefer a non-random level, beacause it has higher controllability, and it may be possible to create richer and more progressive levels in less time when produced in a GameJam.
But in our free time, we do consider developing towards randomness, although we may not necessarily implement it.
Thank you for your opinions and suggestions, which let us know a lot of shortcomings, and we also hope to have the opportunity to improve it!!!Thanks again,AweSkyBear!!!
@qyq Glad I could give helpful tips : ))
One clarification though - you Can have reproducible randomness via PRNG helpers - e.g. provide a seed, generate random numbers (e.g. positions) which are always the same; tune them a bit and voila - you got an infinite level which always starts the same ;)
Just a hint :p
Cool idea! You got a solid base, it could become great with more mechanics!
Cool game, took me a few tries, Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for everyone!!!
