OH MY LORD
This was beyond amazing. I have no idea how you managed to pull this off in such a short time, but I was hooked from the first second and I think I peed myself a little more than once... That second to last day was so frustrating, but it made sense in context and I love how you leaned into the jank and just made it work. This entry floored me, wow.
There's a few things I noticed (some nitpicking):
-When he references that the boxes have been stacked as a prank, that line is played the day before the human-shaped stack is outside the entrance.
-The box dropped by the car could have been part of the boxes needed to be packed, or at least made non-interactive, I was struggling for a while trying to get it inside thinking the game was broken. It was nice of them to bring some coffee though, but I squealed a little when it suddenly drove away :o:
-There's no hint to get the box outside (between the dumpsters), this could have been made into a spooky sequence drawing the player outside. Maybe have the gate closed until that point, e.g. it's creepy that you have your back turned to the night outside and maybe "save" that until a few days in.
-The reveal of the creepy red eyed figure was startling, but it just stands there. Maybe have it disappear when the player looks away, then emerge somewhere else? Also, the voiceline next day doesn't really reflect the MESSED UP sight of seeing something like that.
-It would be nice if the tone of the voice changes as time goes on, trembling more, sounding more tired/unhinged. I guess this was AI generated so that's maybe not a possibility without a voice actor?
-The random noises appear a bit too frequently and loses their effect after a while, they could be reduced by half or something and be just as effective.
All in all, a ridiculously good entry, I'm so happy I played it. Thank you!

@fredspipa Thanks for playing and great feedback, absolutely agree with the nitpicks. Great to hear you got spooked by some of the events :)
A really well made spooky game--I'm amazed by just how much is here, given how short the jam went for!
My one and only gripe is that the box handling is a little slow, making the packing puzzles a bit of a test of patience--but overall, a really well-done and unsettling little game!

Such a complete game! Big pixel texture and the soft outline works really well. Immersive sound effects gives a really nice mood. The first coffee is a nice touch. By the way, when I played the third level, I stacked two boxes together and the box below just went to void. Classic physics error, maybe adding a respawn mechanism?
At first I didn't understand what to do or where to go, but then you can figure it out. Good puzzle, well done! Graphic style is pleasant, not alienating. The game is kind of meditative, but sometimes scary)

Packing is a neat and spooky game that creates an amazing atmosphere. You feel immersed in the role of a warehouse worker who has to load boxes into a truck, like a Tetris puzzle. The game is surprisingly relaxing and enjoyable, despite the horror elements. The graphics are stylish and retro, reminiscent of the old PlayStation games. The game also has a good amount of content for a jam project.
Great work overall!
Hi there, went through and can say that the atmosphere you've created with this art & sound is pretty catching! Additional like for a pixelated flashlight texture, which makes the picture even cooler
Nice work, guys!

This is a unique game and the mood / atmosphere is quite spoopy and self-aware. The drudgery of the box stacking, story telling, and horror elements, are very clever pairings. The retro-esque graphics, especially the lighting effects, are amazing and really set the mood. You could tell the mechanics were properly designed and considered.
I found the character movement a bit too "floaty", and I would have preferred a stronger climax to the story. For example, watching the character becoming unhinged / frightened would have deepened the experience. The spooky entity kind of just stands around, and while it's haunting, the character doesn't really respond with the aspect of terror I would expect seeing something that spooky!
Fighting the physics engine was perhaps a blessing for this game, because it kept your attention and focus at the right level to be properly spooked, but perhaps there is some more balance to be had there.
Overall this was a wonderful game, especially for a jam, and I very much appreciated the sound design, graphics, story, atmosphere, and voice acting.

I couldn't find the 6th box on day 3 and I feel like that means I missed getting further into the game where it seemed like some spooky elements would present themselves. The physics-based carrying is pretty nice but could use a bit of tuning to make it snappier and less frustrating to use. Very impressive entry overall!
Neat! I like the mood you established and the graphics felt very retro in a good way. I struggled a bit with the controls on the html version as it seemed like there was a constant input going. My character would slowly spin even if I kept the mouse in one spot. This made it pretty tricky to try and load the truck at the same time. Otherwise, great game and a very solid entry!
Really awesome concept

Thanks for playing everyone
@euix Yes the character movement is heavy and dreary a bit like the mood. Maybe another aspect could've been that you get slower and harder to move throughout the story. But I agree it's floaty. The spoopying does not get enough feedback from the character other than the daily messages, definitely could be more responsive. Thanks for playing and the feedback.
@walaber Day 3 boxes are all in the main room, maybe the one you missed was on the red table. Regardless, thanks for playing & very true unity physics based stuff is finicky.
@erlioniel Thanks for playing, glad you liked it.
@raptorspank The HTML version is much more convenient, but seems a bit abandoned by Unity. Sucks you had an input issue, precise mouse controls do make the game a bit easier. Thanks for playing.
I had a blast playing this game! đ The graphics were so captivating đŽđ, and I had such a fun time spending some time on it! đšī¸đžđ

I made it to day 5 but I can't find the 5th box and it is too dark to see anything. That, plus the freezing whenever a new sound effect is loaded, are my two main gripes with this game. The rest is amazing :D very nice atmosphere, felt that dread while trying to load the boxes. But that turned to frustration when all the lights went out so I stopped playing as I couldn't see a way to progress.
Amazing game, still! Great job!
@raptorspank if you fullscreen the game, it should clear up the rotating camera issue. I also have that, also for my own web games, and I have never found a solution other than telling people to go fullscreen :D

That was fantastic! Sadly had a bug on day 9 which left me with a missing box. It might have been around somewhere, but I didn't realise I could open doors until I started again so I could see the end :P
Really amazing atmosphere, voice acting fits the game nicely, the puzzles were just complicated enough to be satisfying without being frustrating (apart from day 9, I ended up squishing the boxes in until the game let me finish haha). Really love this PS1 style aesthetic too <3
Think it was day 5? The ~thing~ on that level... got me both times đ

@frib Didn't mention F works for a poopy flashlight, on Day 5 one box is on top of the truck, that one's hard to see. Thanks for playing, good thing you felt some dread
@tommo120 Unlucky, thanks for playing all the way to day 9 and then again to end . I think it's part of the jank that you can squish em in and it counts.

The game is amazing to play! Well fit into the theme of limited space with great visuals, and the controls are smooth and responsive!
Cool game! Loved the aesthetics, atmosphere & voicelines.
Very well made, the narration ,the game based on physics remind me a lot of simulator game based on physics. I like the retro graphics i'm just stuck at the day 4, i have put all the box in the left side of the truck but than don't work..You made an amazing work this can be a full game, with a driving phase ^^ ..packk.jpg

So cool to play a very similar idea to the game we made for LD54, but in a completely different mood and setting, great work!

@robowarrior1982 Aah that's my mistake you're supposed to keep the left side clear, I added note to the tasks later, but I think serialization issues removed it. You're supposed to not touch the red area with any box. Thanks for playing, sorry
OHHHHH @merdeboi i have totally understand the inverse !!!!!!!! I seen the colored rectangle and in most game this is the place to put the thing ^^ (maybe the red color was a clue hummm ?).

Honestly so well executed! Graphic-wise and voice-over-wise! The gameplay works well also! Congrats all around!
Really what can I say? This game is absolutely gorgeous (even though I spent a lot of time on day 6, this box on the top of the ceiling was like a nightmare). This game, given the time limitations that we have for the jam, is almost a complete game. Very nice graphics (I like the retro feeling) and very well designed sound effects, they add to the whole spooky, and at some places, horror experience! Wish you the best!

Jam games that have a voice over always have a soft place in my heart. You never appreciate those as much when playing "regular" games but when someone puts them in a jam game - oh boy do they matter.
Even though scary games are totally not my thing, I think this game managed to create very immersive experience. Well done!

Very cool game! I found the box packing to be more tedious than fun, the physics made it slow and frustrating. The atmosphere was really though, I was on edge a waiting for something to jump out. I also think it would have been good to have time queue that I had to look around more to find boxes, I spent a lot of time on day four looking around only in the warehouse for the last box and was starting to think it was bugged

@nash It's an AI voice (elevenlabs.io), the audio category is opted out due to all the sounds being from HL2 or freesound  Thanks for playing, glad you were immersed.
@deadbydeath Thanks for the kind words, meant to climb on top of the truck for day 6 to get it yep.
@braeden The boxes do slide in a tedious manner that's unfortunate. Day 4 should have some red arrows showing you towards the box, but seems like many people miss them  Thanks for playing and taking your time looking for the box.
Great game. Unfortunately I wasnt able to finish it, I think something went wrong with resetting the truck on day six. The boxes from day five were still in the truck and the boxes for day 6 couldnt fit into the truck. On my first attempt I just left the warehouse to explore until I suddenly died, supposedly by whatever creature was growling though I didnt see anything. It is sometimes more funny than scary how the shadow in the upstairs office just never leaves when you dont go there, watching you like a supervisor, even when closely inspecting with the flashlight on. On day five I coincidently went outside first to look for the box and thus was able to just walk up to and even through the shadow at the window.

@laserpanzerwal Thanks for the heads up indeed had an issue, should be fixed now.
A bit sad because I could not find all boxes in day 4 (I seem to be blind, your game is not the first this happens to me) At first I tried the game on the web (both full screen and not full screen) and the mouse sensibility was completely broken making the game unplayable. So I downloaded the game just to be sure. Sensibility was fine, but performances were horrible ! I don't really know why you little game is so demanding, but I had to activate my whole setup just to play with correct performances (and my computer was burning :sob: ). BUT ANYWAY, I finally got to play. The game is very well made. Voice acting does a lot in setting up an atmosphere, and I felt the texts where well written. One thing I would have improve is the highlight of the boxes. I would have made it depth tested, So it's easier to see when the box I'm holding is in front of or behind something (especially in a dark setup like this)
Anyway, amazing job !
What an impressive entry, the fact that you managed to put this many of things in such a short amount of time is mind-blowing. I love the retro, pixelated graphics and the ambient sound of the rain and thunder, they create a very eerie and spooky atmosphere. And the voice acting was a plus for the story-telling aspect. But one thing that kinda bothered me was the mouse sensitivity, I think it's a bit too high which makes the process of packing boxes difficult, as they keep falling if I pan the mouse a little fast.
Regardless, you did a wonderful job!
Really awesome! Cool sound and atmosphere. I fell in love with these details when I went outside that I heard different rain sound. Amazing work witch environment and input: it's not so easy as it seems

Not bad in general. I like art style and an atmosphere. Some minor notes, btw. I had some freezes during the game, but overall performance is quite good. And mouse sensitivity is frustrated me a bit. I have been dropping boxes all the time because player rotates too fast and boxes just fell out my grip. Anyway it's a nice try!

The atmosphere of this game was amazing. Ditto for graphics and audio which really set the mood. I also liked the narration between the days. The list of tasks and controls in the lower right corner really helped teach how to play the game. A couple of small things that I would change is to decrease mouse sensitivity and increase the brightness since the default setting makes it hard to see anything.
This is really really good! very impressive especially for the amount of time t was in
The most striking aspect for me was the fact that there's full voice acting. this is the first game in the jam that I have seen doing that. The sound work in general is just incredible
The visuals and the atmosphere are top notch too, I really like all the little spooky happenings. the pixelated look is also done very well, super good stuff
The writing is solid too. Pretty funny at times!
I like how the theme is used, the puzzles are pretty compelling, tho they can be a bit complicated at times. Sadly I started losing patience after day 6 because I was taking too long with them, but that's on me. I am sure that there's a lot of cool stuff in the next days based on what I played so far. It would have been
You guys did and absolutely terrific job on this!!
