Rift Escape by LittleBear 2023-10-02T19:24:43Z

Here's the direct link to the zip file from your github repo (in case other struggle to find it): https://github.com/IndieRonin/Space-Sumo/raw/main/Bin/rift_escape_windows_x86_64.zip

edit: can't post links here?

Packing by homeworld 2023-10-02T23:34:21Z

OH MY LORD

This was beyond amazing. I have no idea how you managed to pull this off in such a short time, but I was hooked from the first second and I think I peed myself a little more than once... That second to last day was so frustrating, but it made sense in context and I love how you leaned into the jank and just made it work. This entry floored me, wow.

There's a few things I noticed (some nitpicking):

-When he references that the boxes have been stacked as a prank, that line is played the day before the human-shaped stack is outside the entrance.

-The box dropped by the car could have been part of the boxes needed to be packed, or at least made non-interactive, I was struggling for a while trying to get it inside thinking the game was broken. It was nice of them to bring some coffee though, but I squealed a little when it suddenly drove away :o:

-There's no hint to get the box outside (between the dumpsters), this could have been made into a spooky sequence drawing the player outside. Maybe have the gate closed until that point, e.g. it's creepy that you have your back turned to the night outside and maybe "save" that until a few days in.

-The reveal of the creepy red eyed figure was startling, but it just stands there. Maybe have it disappear when the player looks away, then emerge somewhere else? Also, the voiceline next day doesn't really reflect the MESSED UP sight of seeing something like that.

-It would be nice if the tone of the voice changes as time goes on, trembling more, sounding more tired/unhinged. I guess this was AI generated so that's maybe not a possibility without a voice actor?

-The random noises appear a bit too frequently and loses their effect after a while, they could be reduced by half or something and be just as effective.

All in all, a ridiculously good entry, I'm so happy I played it. Thank you!

I Do by Togis 2023-10-02T23:49:34Z

This was a really creative take on the theme, and well executed with a surprising amount of depth. There's just one problem though; *who in their right mind voluntarily does the seating arrangement at a wedding without a gun to their head????*. But seriously though, well done! :)

Batlone in the dark by ElRyoGrande 2023-10-03T22:58:57Z

Ooooh I love the concept of the echolocation, it was really clever to have it bounce around like that. I think you could take this even further and leave fading marks where the geometry is and give the bat much less vision, kind of like those LIDAR-ish games where you gradually build up an image of the environment by scanning. Well done, this was inspiring!

RAINBOW ROBOTS by Trifectuh 2023-10-02T19:59:08Z

Amazing entry! It was immediately obvious what the player has to do, you could even remove the text and it's still perfectly intuitive. I love that you have to plan out the space and kite enemies of different colors based on where the weapons lands, but a slight improvement (of an already really good game) would be to have the dropped weapons slowly gravitate towards the center to avoid them sticking to the edges too much (and under the hud), and then you'd have to dodge them to avoid accidentally swapping.

Ghastly Tower by CrispyPear 2023-10-03T23:23:51Z

This was a really fresh concept! It was a bit hard to get into, and I feel some of the difficulty is "unnecessary" (e.g. shooting down to jump, pieces along the wall can't be moved(?)). It would be neat with a way to rotate the pieces, like a charged shot or something, but all in all this is a great idea that's well executed.

Good Neighbours by ThePhennix 2023-10-04T21:58:44Z

I'm having the same issue as @farouchelark.

2023-10-04_23-57.png

No matter where I place him, or how I place the apartment, pressing Validate does nothing. Tried restarting the game several times, no errors in console :( it looks so fun!

Shootout! at High Noon by TheFoppian 2023-10-02T19:18:20Z

This was cute, I love the interactions with the gunslingers. When fighting Texas Red I was just met with a blank area, only the player and nothing else, so I couldn't progress :(

I like the idea of having to count your bullets (9) before reloading, some visual/audio feedback on when you're empty and when you're reloading would go a long way though.

Hole in the Well by DecadeDecaf 2023-10-02T18:39:49Z

Fantastic voice acting and audio mastering, and I love the concept of having to weigh what wishes to grant in order to keep you in "business". At some point exploding all those babies should have consequences, but I guess out of sight out of mind...

RUN SHIP RUN! by Cloistered 2023-10-05T03:35:17Z

I'm not sure if I understand what's going on here. None of the hotkeys seem to do anything, nor clicking anything. Is something broken maybe, or am I missing something?

Rough Housing by AGK 2023-10-04T23:59:17Z

I was stuck playing this for the better part of an hour. It's so much fun, despite RNG playing a huge part in whether you succeed or not. If I get a couple of schools and manage to chain a few parks together, I often win with 4-5 rounds left, but other times I'm 20% of the score by the last round with nothing I could have done to win.

I can't overstate how much I enjoyed this game, it reminds me of ISLANDERS which is a game I sunk a ton of hours into. "Limited space: the genre" 10/10 jam entry.

Just... Make It Yourself! by real_flamingicecubegames 2023-10-03T23:15:31Z

I only got 6750, some bad luck with RNG and just me being clumsy. This was a really cool concept, and well executed; the voice acting took it to the next level. I think the tutorial was fine, especially as it also served as "world building" and had humor. If there's one addition I'd appreciate it's a "suicide" button as I often built too soon and doomed the level, but I still had to finish building it and spawn and wait/fall down to try again.

Rusty Barrel by KenForest 2023-10-05T22:48:52Z

What the hell, this is like a 100x more polished and fleshed out version of the crappy little game I came up with. It's mindblowing how you managed to create all these meshes and animations and mechanics in the spawn of 72 hours, it looks FANTASTIC. Absolutely the most impressive Ludum entry I've seen in a while, wow! O:

Grandma Won't Stop Buying! by WeirdBitGames 2023-10-03T12:15:54Z

This is an accurate simulator of grandma online shopping, I was completely immersed. Those plastic drapes look neat, don't need to be washed, and this plushy toy says my granddaughters name when you pull the string. Now where did I put my credit card?

Trashy Space Dice by Sarah Northway 2023-10-02T02:53:06Z

@sarah-northway It's sadly an issue with .NET and WebGL 2.0, nothing the Godot devs can do about it but wait until it's fixed. That's one reason why the docs recommend sticking to 3.x for widest support in web exports (it uses WebGL 1.0), but it's a tall order to make someone just starting out learn 3.0 which will be obsolete in a while anyway... It's a dilemma for sure :(

KeyBound by AgrMayank 2023-10-02T19:52:41Z

What a GORGEOUS entry, I love the concept and the presentation. Some "dangers" were hard to notice, maybe some color language would be in order here, but all in all this game is an amazing feat in such short time!

Ruins Runner by Ackbad 2023-10-02T18:27:48Z

It seems like you have uploaded the source code (including the git repo) and not a build of the game.

Shelf Shift by Spajus 2023-10-02T19:45:49Z

@spajus I believe that disqualifies you from the COMPO category, but not from the JAM category. Anyway this was a really cool concept and the best take on the theme I've seen so far, also the execution/presentation is spot on. Fantastic!

Karl's Labyrinth by xbolinger3 2023-10-02T19:04:26Z

After reading the comments and realizing there is a way to control the camera, I was able to play. It took about 8-10 minutes of walking/backtracking before I encountered my first enemy, then I made my way towards the red light only to be one-shot by the minotaur after failing to parry (?). I tried again, struggling to find any enemies to grind before taking on the boss(?), and then I died to him again. A roguelike with this ruleset and visual style could definitely be fun but it was such a pain to get back to where I was that I didn't get to explore the mechanics properly. Three things that could make the experience of exploring the maze much better: 1. document camera control and allow for higher angle (you're constantly adjusting the camera angle to be able to click the tiles). Alternatively, have clicks register through the walls. 2. Ability to walk in several moves (you can already select target tile) 3. Auto-stop movement on spotting enemy.

All in all it's an impressive and promising entry, just sad that the juicy parts are kept out of reach by the controls/interface.

Under Trykk by Fredspipa 2023-10-02T22:03:01Z

@crispypear thank you so much for that suggestion! I managed to add a small crosshair dot in the knick of time, with 3 minutes to spare :D I can't believe I didn't think of that...

I removed the embed also, it's a server side issue that also affects most (all?) Unity games and I was hoping the team here would fix it before the deadline and left it up just in case.

Regarding the imploding, that's when you crash too hard into the cave walls. Red warning lights will show when you're about to hit something. It can help to slow down and don't go full throttle.
