Unfortunately couldnt run your game. Download seems broken.

I tried launching it from Godot and it looked very nice, but I didn't have some C# thingy.

I hope I'll be able to play it some day!

Thanks for the heads up @sevansevan. Not sure what went wrong, I was just getting "file not found". I uploaded the same file again and it seems to be working now.

I wish I was able to offer HTML5, but Godot 4 doesn't support it with C# yet. :( This was mostly an experiment to try Godot for the first time, and I thought it was pretty decent otherwise. I might put another day into this game and post it on Itch when they eventually support web deployment.

@sarah-northway It's sadly an issue with .NET and WebGL 2.0, nothing the Godot devs can do about it but wait until it's fixed. That's one reason why the docs recommend sticking to 3.x for widest support in web exports (it uses WebGL 1.0), but it's a tall order to make someone just starting out learn 3.0 which will be obsolete in a while anyway... It's a dilemma for sure :(

the download version worked for me, that is a great little game, kinda stressful not going to lie got very anxious when the dice heat would rise and I had like 7 on the field lol

Hi Sarah,

Great game! Here is some feedback. There are 2 shades of red shortly before the dice explode. Sometimes its the darkes one where the dice is also jittering, and sometimes the sahde beforehand or even before that. Maybe the answer to that lies in the UI, but the screen is so full that there is no chance to see whats going on there ;) (But thats by design)

When does the game ends, I have 250+ points and 25+ Actions and lots of dice on the screen, there is no more room! xD

Hope you had fun with Godot and great game!

Great game! I had no trouble running the game like others have, although there was an odd glitch where the window took up more space on the screen than was available at 1920x1080 resolution. That was easy to fix by maximizing though.

Very fun game! Would've loved sound for all the madness going on on screen, but otherwise very good. Would love a win hard win condition but filling my screen with junk is just as good 😂

gwen-dekker 2023-10-02 20:24

No issues running the game. A few minutes in I understood completely how the game fit the theme lol

I think this was very clever! I liked the puzzley aspect of it, where I was trying to get dice of a certain type. Such as trying to get a 1, such that I could replace all the actions and hopefully get a reset heat action. There was a nice balance between randomness and decision making I think.

One thing which was not very clear to me was how exploding dice affected other dice. I know they heat up other dice, but was this based on proximity? Or just randomness?

All in all I really enjoyed playing. Good job! :D

Very impressive art and overall set-up for a jam, bravo!

The game was very fun at first with joyful choices. Then I hoped I could go on forever. After 100 turns I was like 'ok done let's lose". And I could never lose even while placing dices at random on stuff :-D

That didn't prevent me from liking the game concept and artn and that was fun to play.

I ran into the Godot 4 web export problem too, spent several hours downgrading my game to Godot 3 just for an HTML5 upload.

Anyway, I'm honestly a little confused by the game because I don't know how to read, but I do know that I like rolling and placing virtual dice.

Very interesting idea. As it is it was not very fun to me because it was pretty hard to lose and the actions don't offer much variety, but it's otherwise a really solid entry and there's the core of something good here. Gets 5 stars on innovation from me, it's probably one of the more creative ideas I've played so far. Also "reset all dice heat" really comes in clutch often!

Nice idea, using physics this way in a turn-based genre is a left field idea with a lot of potential. It took a little while to figure out what was happening but once it clicked it was fun. There's a bit of an issue with difficulty, I stopped playing at 700+ points but it felt like I could have pretty much gone infinite. There's no real reason to pick the actions that give +1 or +3 extra actions, so each turn you're pretty much just replacing an action and never getting more cluttered. All things considered a pretty solid entry, well done.

This is really great innovative idea! It felt like playing a board game if you could have that much dices :D I think it needs more constraints because I couldn't run out of dices, filled a lot of actions and new were coming so I couldn't fail.

shigor 2023-10-14 10:38

An interesting concept.

heuser 2023-10-18 14:55

Very creative Game, kudos to you for pulling it of.

martin-bousquet 2023-10-18 15:41

I really don't see the point in having janky physics, it's more annoying than anything else. Apart from that, it's a really solid entry, the game is fun even though a little simple. It could be the start of a real game! Nice job.
