Cool idea, initially i didnt get that full seats are needed to play. Nobody likes the party in my game xD

fredspipa 2023-10-02 23:49

This was a really creative take on the theme, and well executed with a surprising amount of depth. There's just one problem though; *who in their right mind voluntarily does the seating arrangement at a wedding without a gun to their head????*. But seriously though, well done! :)

psguedes 2023-10-03 00:14

I loved the idea, very creative. I liked the description of the people, even though my marriage was a disaster.

osh-studio 2023-10-03 11:37

Cool take on the the theme! It would have been nice to have some kind of indicator once a guest had already been assigned a seat, there were lots of names to look through. I decided to create a little drama, and boy inviting the ex of the groom and a women wearing a white dress did not bode well, -5 wedding for me haha. I loved the graphics, so clean and smooth, Fun submission!

denvil 2023-10-03 16:43

I would have liked to be able to mess with the wedding while different parts we going. Even though I knew what to do next by watching your twitch stream I still waited for a while before remembering / noticing to advance the wedding.

You really managed to add quite the character selection so plus for that. I had more fun with the second level trying it multiple times to get more "dramatic" wedding.

tricky-fat-cat 2023-10-03 16:52

Funny and clever idea, good execution. Really enjoyed playing it.

kanity 2023-10-04 00:57

Well, the wedding was a success! :) The game was nice and fun, and I took time reading about the guests and deciding who to invite and where to put them. And then it was cool to just see them chill and read about their impressions on the right! Overall I don't even have any critique to add, I think the idea is cool and it was executed well! :) Maybe the only nitpick - I think it should be "they bonded", not "bounded", that's all!

burchyn 2023-10-04 10:27

Thanks a lot for playing and your feedback everyone! @qaolin @fredspipa @psguedes @tricky-fat-cat

Glad you enjoyed the chaos lol @osh-studio @denvil

Yeah thanks for pointing it out @kanity . With dyslexia and no time for proof reading, we had a fair share of typos this jam.Might fix it later

kanity 2023-10-04 16:15

@burchyn sure, I found a few typos in my project as well after submitting! :) it's completely understandable ^^

neeko69 2023-10-04 18:03

Very fun game. Really fun to mess the wedding!

cradac 2023-10-04 19:09

Really fun game! My first idea was something similar as well, before pivoting to another concept. It's great to see it done so well :)

rongon 2023-10-06 10:19

Amazing entry - it really gives the vibe of a big American wedding. It's easy to understand, memory puzzle with limited space, so I always wonder is there a perfect solution. A lot of easter eggs, Vito having Mafia attribute (Corleone?), I like the humor. You did amazing job with all these combinations and things that I didn't expect, like someone wearing same dress as groom or bride, I didn't account for that initially. Fits the theme perfectly :D

amolker 2023-10-06 10:33

Love this concept! It was fun, especially on the second level. The only thing is that there may be too much information to process at the same time, it can be difficult.

2023-10-06 12:28

very fun game, creative play on the theme, clear gameplay. A bit too much details, but you don't expect everyone to spend 30 minutes making a table with all guests and getting perfect score. The premise of second level is hysterical.

One thing was unclear in first level - I thought the guests not sitting at tables would also come, so I placed them across the room and was surprised when only seated guests arrived

Overall great job!

mar-zockmeister 2023-10-06 14:07

Really cool game! During our brainstorming, we had a similar idea but in an office setting, where you have to distribute the colleagues to limited desk space. We chose then another idea but it is really cool to be able to play a similar game concept. And it is very polished in your case.

arivaneverdingen 2023-10-08 04:06

Seems really polished! creative application of the theme, I had fun!

pious 2023-10-08 04:06

What a wonderful take on the theme. My fiancee (Sofi, our artist) and I both participated in the LD jam this time and let me tell you how hilarious it was for me to just roll through all this and be like "What would I really do for our wedding?" Very well done and the optional level was funny as well (and definitely NOT what I would do for our actual wedding!). Very happy to see a Godot entry like this and it was really cool to see all the little systems in place. Please do like a dev log of sorts if you can! Fantastic entry!

amirrajan 2023-10-08 04:07

This is beautifully put together and a possibly a trigger for PTSD lol.

lexyvil 2023-10-08 07:15

Really unique game! I had +6 on my first try, +5 on my second. It's interesting to see the different outcomes based on who you pair people with (and which table). The fact you can't fit everyone really fits the theme too. Great entry!

Also I noticed Uncle Bob loves alcohol but "Alcohol" happens to show in red font instead of green, if that was unintended.

recher 2023-10-08 09:52

Very original idea, with full of nice details and tricks.

Spoiler alert: Uncle Bob is definitely not a good guest. Either unhappy because too far from the bar, or drunk and bothering everyone.

It's a nice idea to have the list of guests presented in a guest book.

It would have been even more fun if the resulting logs were presented in the form of a wedding guestbook. You could have texts like : "I love your wedding, I was happy to talk about Space with Eloise. (signed : Filip)". At the end, Uncle Bob vomits on the wedding book. Lol !

My best score was +18. I could have played some more if there was a random mode, with randomly generated guests.

The distorded wedding theme is hilarious. I gave 5 stars on Audio just for that !

doridie 2023-10-08 10:27

Very cool idea and very well executed! I was very glad about the 2nd level. After I played the first level, I immediately had the urge to plan the whole thing again as bad as possible. I have also accomplished that much more successfully :D

konfekt 2023-10-08 23:33

Such a fun premise, I thought way too hard about where to place everyone and have vowed never to take this job on in my life lol. The only thing I found a bit difficult was the amount of information presented once everyone is seated and you see how your actions affect them. maybe splitting things up into points you can win/lose for fights breaking out etc. could add to the replay value to optimize those stats (or create absolute disaster).

crylica 2023-10-09 07:17

The concept is hilarious! It's difficult to remember everyone's stats to figure out their optimal placement and the correlations of what certain things do isn't very clear. I think the UI could've been improved to help with communicating more information to the player. I didn't realise at the start that only seated guests matter, I had put all the guests on the floor haha.

fabula-rasa 2023-10-09 17:35

Very fun to play! The concept is simple and plays very well. The game is simple but engaging! I planned 4 weddings and all went swimmingly

I loved the fact that you could invite some mafia to your wedding. The humor overall is great. And the graphics are tidy and do their job well. The limbless "pawns" along with the social feedback bring 'Rimwold' to mind.

It would be cool if there would be a randomized pool of guests - more fun to replay. But I know that this could create "unwinnable" scenarios and would be much harder to balance and create in jam time.

My smashing success (and lack there-off ). A cool and unique jam entry!

I killed it! Now since wedding is over, we're back to the organ grinding

javasaurus 2023-10-09 18:20

This game is an absolute blast! It takes a unique spin on the theme and executes it brilliantly. The attention to detail and humor throughout the game is fantastic.

The concept of seating guests at a wedding is both fun and challenging. While it might seem like a simple task, the game adds depth with the different personalities and preferences of the guests. You'll find yourself carefully planning who to invite and where to seat them, all while trying to avoid wedding disasters.

I can honestly say, getting married IRL was easier :D

joror 2023-10-09 20:33

Fun puzzler! Very unique idea, and neat visuals. Had a marginally nice wedding!

Combining this is a bit hard on the memory, perhaps some hints when people are combined would add some give 'intermediate' rewards?

Nice lil game!

rickylee 2023-10-09 21:14

I love it \o/ I wanted best score possible so I made a cheaty spreadsheet xD level 2 was very satisfying to play after putting a lot of time getting the green bar to fill up in level 1.

my scores, top level 1, bottom level 2 haha

tetrapteryx 2023-10-10 19:01

Trashing the wedding was the most fun part! Great concept. I'd love to see where you might take this if you were to add more levels.

mnemosynevl 2023-10-10 19:06

WOW! What a solid experience. I completely zoned out and spend a lot of time playing your game! Great job!

the-enigma 2023-10-10 21:11

This was fun. Graphics reminded me of prison architect. The situations were funny, and we enjoyed the chats down the side. Good job!

pipima 2023-10-10 21:25

I find the theme of this game incredibly intriguing. I appreciate the distinct directions taken by the first two levels, and I believe there's ample potential for additional levels with various missions. It would be fantastic to introduce more surprising and random effects during interactions between participants. Currently, I'm mostly matching them based on their tags, and I think the gameplay could become even more engaging and complex with the introduction of unexpected incidents. I thoroughly enjoyed this game – well done!

chybby 2023-10-11 08:53

Ok the second level was a stroke of genius, had way too much fun planning that wedding. I could see this working pretty well with a couple more tables. I was a bit confused by the labels put on people when they were seated, made me think there wasn't anywhere I could put people that was considered close to the dance floor for example.

gobigredfan 2023-10-11 23:58

Very nice! Our team's entry might well be a "bad ending" to your game haha.

lone-wolf 2023-10-12 06:13

This is a really well-rounded and polished game. The only really issue I can think of is that it got repetitive screenshotting my last arrangement so I could build on a decent starting set of people instead of having to rethink every seating arrangement every round.

I love the contrast of level 2, especially since that's what I seem to be a natural at :smiling_imp: 2023-10-11_23-02.png 2023-10-11_23-07.png

raineshadow 2023-10-12 12:32

Very fun game trying to get the highest and lowest score! Great job and loved the music.

erlioniel 2023-10-12 18:20

Do I like it? Yes, I Do!

oter 2023-10-12 21:38

Sound didn't work for me (no idea why, probably something on my end if no one else has had issues), so I just hummed some wedding music to myself  A fun idea for a game, though I did get bogged down in min maxing with all those details you provide for each guest.

catulus-zesmar 2023-10-12 21:43

Lol my the weddings were a mess! Took me a few seconds to understand I had to seat people from the list.

hexstart 2023-10-12 22:57

Felt a bit overwhelmed by the number of guests at the beginning. Maybe the game could start with a pre-wedding party with a smaller number of guests? It got easier after a while though.

Really enjoyed the switch in level 2, it's clever to make you do the opposite after you already somewhat learned the game. I also did better at making a mess of a wedding, not sure if that's through in-game experience or just simply a greater appeal 😅

flaterectomy 2023-10-15 10:09

Sweet, I got the mafia guy arrested! What a fun take, sorting through guests for matching (or opposing) characteristics was a fun bit of investigating.

I appreciate the clear stylized graphics, nice color palette, and vibing music choices. Nice entry!

winie 2023-10-15 13:00

I found that I was better at breaking weddings than organising good weddings.

bredera 2023-10-15 15:56

What a charming little experience this was!

Going through and organizing where everyone needs to sit in order for the wedding to be held was fun. First I did try to match them as best I could. Resulting in a decent wedding. After that run all gloves were off and I ruined at least 3-4 weddings

Awesome entry

tucan 2023-10-15 22:54

Haha! I just realized after some times playing that I'm a terrible wedding organizer (So many weddings ruined!), my highest score was -6! This is an interesting take on the theme! I like how at the very end you see the simulation of the different people interacting and their reactions. Music was good and added to the game mood! The first time playing I think I hit a bug, tried returning a name back to the clipboard and accidentally dropped in on top of the picture and then I could not move any name anymore and had to reload the page. Screenshot_2023-10-15_16-39-40.png Other than that little bug I think this was great entry! Good job!

keely-brown 2023-10-16 00:57

The game used the theme well and in a creative way. Some of the traits felt like they could have used tooltips. I really liked that the wedding got simulated at the end and showed you why certain things did or didn't give you points.

itsboats 2023-10-20 09:02

the use of theme here is very clever and overall execution is great too! my first playthrough i thought i was was mostly just trying to match green to green, but i after playing it became clear their proximity to the other stuff like dance floor, cake, etc was a factor as well. i think its awesome you can still get points for the guests bonding over their shared hate over topics too hehehe
