LD54 — Limited Space

Disc Runner by rasblo 2023-10-09T14:51:06Z

I thoroughly enjoyed the gameplay, art, and music. It did take me a bit of time to grasp the controls and the distinction between using the left and right mouse buttons (which, I assume, are the same), but once I got the hang of it, the gameplay became quite clear. I appreciate the gradual increase in difficulty and the diverse range of enemy attacks. While I did find it frustrating to restart from the very first level each time I was defeated, I also acknowledge that it pushed me to improve my skills. Overall, well done!

I Do by Togis 2023-10-10T21:25:44Z

I find the theme of this game incredibly intriguing. I appreciate the distinct directions taken by the first two levels, and I believe there's ample potential for additional levels with various missions. It would be fantastic to introduce more surprising and random effects during interactions between participants. Currently, I'm mostly matching them based on their tags, and I think the gameplay could become even more engaging and complex with the introduction of unexpected incidents. I thoroughly enjoyed this game – well done!

The theme is really fun and I appreciate the diverse range of attacks available. I love how both the shoot'em up gameplay and the leveling-up stage tie into the concept of 'limited space.' I'm looking forward to receiving a final score at the end as it would be quite rewarding for me. However, I did encounter a bug with the HP bar. After leveling up my HP (e.g. to 11), it consistently reverted to a maximum of 7 whenever I got hit. Despite this issue, I must say, great job overall!

Comfort by Anper 2023-10-18T04:35:02Z

I absolutely love the game's theme and its innovative mechanics. The choice of music enhances the overall mood of gameplay. The design of the tutorial is simply brilliant; I love how seamlessly it's integrated into the game. However, I've encountered a few issues during gameplay. The comfort zone frequently stops following me when I jump or fall, and my health points seem to be stuck at 34, inadvertently making me immortal (allowing me to cheat lol). Aside from these issues, well done!

Behind The Darkness by Squeele 2023-10-18T04:46:15Z

I'm quite taken with the game's graphics and atmosphere. To be honest, I didn't manage to make it to the end, as I found myself going back and forth in the same location, especially when I reached a plain with no fences to indicate possible paths. I really hope that you can incorporate more visual clues in the scene to guide players in the right direction. Overall, great job!

Gear Mania by Curtis Pelissier 2023-10-20T18:18:24Z

I'm thrilled with the gameplay, the artwork, and the sound effects; the game is incredibly enjoyable. I'd definitely like to see more levels. However, I do have a couple of suggestions. After each battle ends, I wish there was more time to rearrange my inventory and pick up items. Sometimes, items go out of sight before I can grab them. Additionally, instead of just the name of the item, it would be better if we could see the UI to understand how much space each item would occupy more directly. Lastly, I believe players could engage more in space planning if we had the option to change the orientation of items. Overall, keep up the excellent work!

St. Valdez by IvanPavlov 2023-10-05T23:41:33Z

Love the sound design and the emotion the game brings. I'm literally freaked out when guard jumped in front of me and beat me up. It's a clever touch to include the punching bag in the scene as a subtle clue for our escape method. While I do wish there were more opportunities to explore within this room, it's still an interesting game overall!

Extinction Extraction by tetrapteryx 2023-10-10T21:43:51Z

The art is absolutely adorable, and I'm in love with it! The level design is also quite clever, and I had a great time solving the puzzles to save all the dinosaurs. However, it seemed in the level where three dinosaurs first appear, I was able to save them all without even moving the rock. I'm not sure if this was intentional to convey that we don't always need to use the stones to complete a level, but if it wasn't, you might consider redesigning this level. I'm eagerly looking forward to more levels and game mechanisms in the future. Keep up the fantastic work!

Mind the Gap by LelulaGames 2023-10-10T20:45:41Z

I truly appreciate the art style and the mood it creates in this game. The level design is clever, particularly those that involve navigating through rows of flower pads, which felt meditative. The perspective and direction control proved challenging to grasp initially, but they gradually made sense as I leveled up. It was quite surprising to pass the flower wheel just as I was about to give up, so I do hope there might be some form of hint or guidance for players who have been stuck at a level for a long period. Nevertheless, great job overall!

S. P. Ace Ltd by Cookie_CHR 2023-10-18T04:18:54Z

This puzzle is quite interesting, and I'm fond of the various mechanisms each token possesses. In future levels, you might consider experimenting with the shape of the map to introduce additional constraints for the player. I'm eagerly looking forward to experiencing more levels!

Packrat by NBumgardner 2023-10-20T18:42:27Z

I find the concept of the game very intriguing, and the art style is cute as well. I do hope that in the later stages of the game, there could be more constraints and unexpected challenges for the players. Currently, it's relatively easy to earn money for upgrades, and there are no penalties for missing customer orders. This leads me to randomly shovel items into bags and wait for matching orders, which diminishes the game's challenge as it progresses. Nevertheless, good job!

Indcosmus by milq 2023-10-09T15:26:19Z

I'm really impressed with the art, music, and level design. The diversity in enemy attacks adds an intriguing element to the game. However, I found the control for jumping with the X key somewhat unintuitive, as my instinct was to reach for the space bar whenever an enemy approached. It would be great if there were extra lives available, as it was quite frustrating to restart from the very beginning after just one hit. Overall, though, well done!

Grandma Won't Stop Buying! by WeirdBitGames 2023-10-09T15:34:29Z

What an adorable game! The theme is quite amusing, and I'm a fan of the art design. However, I did experience some frustration when I found myself trapped in a room surrounded by too many packages, unable to do anything but watch as the trucks destroyed them. It would be fantastic to have a 'dash' mechanism that allows for more agile navigation through the room. I'm also looking forward to seeing more levels and additional mechanics in the game for future development. Overall, good job!

Oort's Orbital Postal Service by QGDev 2023-10-10T21:01:32Z

I really love the movement that simulates an outer space environment, and the cute art style is a bonus. I got so into loading packages onto the truck that I didn't notice the top bar had stopped changing, and the extra ones disappeared. It might be helpful to add a notice for players to let them know when the truck is full and overloading is happening. Overall, great job!

Implant by fredial 2023-10-09T15:11:03Z

I adore the art and music; it's incredibly cute. However, I found the control design to be somewhat unintuitive. Given that WASD keys aren't currently assigned to any actions, perhaps players could use them for movement instead of relying on F and manual direction clicking. Furthermore, it would be helpful to have a button that allows players to either retract a mistaken move or restart the level, as currently, a wrong move forces a complete game restart. Overall, nice game!

Exploit the Tiles by cd7 2023-10-18T04:04:37Z

The game looks fantastic, and I genuinely appreciate the artwork and the intriguing game mechanics. However, during my initial playthrough, I encountered an issue where the map disappeared from the screen. It took me a while to figure out that the map moves in accordance with the position of my mouse. I hope there are some constraints on how far the map can move on the screen to make it more user-friendly. Additionally, I'd love to see more interactions between tiles based on how players arrange them. Nevertheless, overall, great job!
