was a fun game. i would have liked the option to choose which item i threw out of the bag, and also to drop it straight on the ground under me. would have made for better management of items on the ground.

It is a fun game. I like the aspect of doing several dives to go deeper and deeper

pimeko 2024-04-15 21:08

Cute game, with cute graphics and cute music! Love the overall aesthetic and nice crafting mechanic :)

danga 2024-04-15 21:10

Cute game! I loved subnautica, and so this is a great interpretation of that kind of game. I agree having some more inventory management capabilities would have helped, it was also a bit hard to tell what some items in the crafting menu were (the ingredients, not the craftables).

Nice job!

Good game, as other people sayed before it was quiet difficult to manage our inventory but I've loved the gameplay loop and my overall experience was pleasant.

sirjupitron 2024-04-15 21:17

Hi! what a cool game! Loved everything, exploring the sea is amazing. Will keep playing.

supportlik 2024-04-15 21:22

I really liked this Game. Also the thanks for playing on the bottom. I liked the part, that you need to push ur air to the max to get progression a lot. It had something like "now u have to be brave!".

Also what JCMonkey said. Inventory needs improvement.

What a charming little game! The music didn't feel off-putting repeating which a nice success there. The inventory management was a bit of a hassle with throwing items all over the ground though. Otherwise, it felt really good to play!

This is a really sweet game, I enjoyed swimming around and upgrading my materials, very cozy and explorative.

frib 2024-04-16 17:15

Excellent game! Managed to reach the credits before upgrading all my gear, so I must've missed an area. I enjoyed playing through it :D

Thanks all who have played so far, and for all the feedback! I definitely had more inventory management mechanics on my todo list, but sadly ran out of time

@danga I just finished another playthrough of Subnautica a few weeks ago, so it was on my mind. Such a good game

Chill sound and gamplay! Cute graphics. Good work!

thomas-bringer 2024-04-16 21:00

Great game! I liked finding new upgrades allowing to go deeper and deeper. Gameplay and visuals were neat. Thanks for making this!

sevansevan 2024-04-16 21:25

Congratz for managing to give the joy of exploration feeling in a compo game :-)

icebell 2024-04-16 22:29

Such a cute little game, I really enjoyed exploring and gathering the different items!

kirass 2024-04-16 23:04

albatross 2024-04-17 00:04

This game is actually addicting

lightningst 2024-04-17 00:41

Overall an amazing game!!! I would definitely play a more fleshed out version of this some more!!

So many things done right! Great music, great world, great upgrades! And there is nothing quite like knowing I'm going to die because I was too slow to turn around, watching my screen go black as I run out of air thinking this is the end, then seeing everything come back to normal as I just barely made it to the surface in time! Such a joy to play :)

The game really introduces a FULL IMMERSION, like

maggardjosh 2024-04-17 15:36

Wow! Thanks for playing and all the extremely kind words everyone!

iroroi 2024-04-17 22:16

love subnautica, this game reminded me of dozens of best hours. 5/5

the-neon-shark 2024-04-17 22:18

LOVE this game. Excellent take on a crafting / underwater exploration game. Controls and mechanics are tight. The summoning portal feels like it could just be a "work bench for crafting" and the game would be identical. If there were maybe multiple portals or more opportunities to summon, that'd really lean you more in to the theme. That's my only critique though, I absolutely love what you've made here!

The progression works really well, and I like how open the world is. The end of the game was in a cute spot. The sound and music works really well too. So overall it is really nice. Well done!

pascal-fitzner 2024-04-18 17:21

I really like the swinging effect of the seeweed, contributes well to the atmosphere

sharploaded 2024-04-19 19:27

Absolutely love it! Took me a while to understand those dark areas were air pockets, was way harder before that :) I appreciate that you did not add anything dangerous I had to dodge. Sounds are good, music is great! Thank you, and great job!

jhax 2024-04-19 20:59

Nice pacing to the gradual build with the inventory. The swimming felt really good when you start getting your flippers upgraded! Very enjoyable and relaxing!

thomaszane 2024-04-20 09:41

Great game. I really enjoyed the feeling of diving into the deep ocean and not knowing what I'm gonna find.

i1dar 2024-04-24 13:00

I like the diver athmosphere!

constance 2024-04-24 13:55

Man, this game is just so addicting in its own way! I really loved the simple graphics and geometry, and the animations combined with the sound effects that the main character made are absolutely adorable, he's just so tiny and squishable lol.

Many things was done right in this game, from the engaging experience from exploring and gathering resources, to the suitable choice of music and sound effects. All that combined created a very pleasing and enjoyable gameplay for players, and super replay-able too!

The only thing I'd like to suggest is a better inventory management system, instead of throwing all the stuff on the ground it'd nice to have some kind of storage or item container at the base. That'd also prevent circle-shape items from rolling down the slopes and into the water. And improve the interaction mechanics to pick up multiple items at once, instead of having to spam E at the pile of clustered items until you get the one you want.

But regard to the limited time for Compo entries, I understand that those aforementioned mechanics can take a lot of effort and time to be done right. But I'd like to see how they'll turn out in a post-jam version of this little gem, if you decided to take it further of course.

Anyway, this is one hell of a Compo submission I have to say, I had such a fun and relaxing experience playing it! Excellent job!

daivyishere 2024-04-27 09:18

Such a chill and fun game to play, really amazing experience :)

very-dark-lord 2024-05-10 18:43

This has so many similarities to a game I made for Ludum Dare 50, Don't Drink and Dive: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/dont-drink-and-dive - e.g. the upgrades (only that in DDaD you have to find them rather than craft), the exploratory "get deeper and deeper over time", the plant and fish types, and I guess our landscape generation is also pretty similar. :) One difference though is that your game's vibe is much more relaxed. :D Very cool, great job!
