I may not have fully grasped the entirety of this game, but I was captivated by its mysterious world, filled with awe for you as the puzzles slowly unraveled. Everything is amazing...

Hot damn, this game is confusing! I'm starting to get how things work, but I'm still stuck in stage 6 (I think it's 6). The one where there's a hole , a item pickup block and you start below, but can't do anything. I was trying to figure out whether I could move an item from a screen below upwards.
This game is pretty incredible, I think the highest level I got to was 25 before getting myself stuck. If you make a post-jam version with the option to reset individual levels (or with an undo of some kind), let me know, I would love to play more.
@endurion you might be missing a mechanic! That's alright though, game *is* confusing. If you do want to continue (6 is pretty early in the game), here is a clue: you can walk into the item slot at times/ placing the gem-like item has a special effect. Cheers!
@stevenjmiller WOAH!!! That's impressively far! And yes-that is already in the works, and more!
Really unique game! Love the music and the puzzle solving has a lot of discovery to it. I was also stuck on level 6 for the longest time. Eventually I realized you can enter rooms from different directions and so I came in from the top rather than the bottom. Nice job!
Damn, I'm pretty sure the intention was making it confusing, and you did it, congrats! It reminds me of those old arcade games where there were no instructions of any kind, ahh, good times. Don't get me wrong, it's amazing!
I don't know how but I made it to the level 16 until I got stuck, and I didn't really want to redo all that again, maybe it need an "undo" function or checkpoints
I'M SO MAD!! I made it all the way to level 26 (and I was close to beating it!) when I accidentally hit my key at the wrong time and not only did it send me back two levels, but it put me in an impossible situation :sob: damn my twitchy fingers...
But seriously, this game was awesome! I loved every second of it, I felt so smart while playing! The graphics are super cool too. I was also stuck on level 6 for a while, and I will admit, there was an element to it that seemed... random? Or just impossible for me to understand/predict. It made it just the tiniest bit frustrating, not being able to know exactly how far back I was being sent when I went in a hole. Really looking forward to the undo-level feature!
Boy, I really should have taken the time to add that feature haha ^^ It'll be in the game for sure! I'm working on more than *just* a feature update, though ;)
@dingbat Good job figuring that out!
@majomirez Yeah, "intentionally" confusing! I definitely don't want it to be an excuse for missing features though. But you get it, the fun comes from the journey!
@viktorthegreat so close!!! Sorry to hear that, there's definitely some QoL that was missing. As for level 6, (the bane of all players), I'm glad it got brought up! Will be approaching that mechanic a bit better in the future :)
The way this game lets you brute force your way through puzzles without even knowing how you did it, then delivers epiphany after epiphany *retroactively*, is actually exhilarating. I cheered, more than once, in real life. It's the same feeling I get when an equation finally clicks, halfway through a homework set. It's like a movie full of foreshadowing that you only understand on rewatch. I've never really played anything like it.
I got stuck on level 25ish twice. While I agree that replaying a level would be a nice QoL fix, it's also pretty rewarding to go through the early levels again with full knowledge of how they work, so I don't mind that you made me trek all the way back!
cool concept but very confusing. even after i figured out what the pieces do, it' still hard to understand what is happening, and i feel like a bit of explanation could go a long way without taking away the intrigue or mystery
I really enjoyed all the twists and turns with trying to discover what the mechanics actually were. as a rule discovery game and a sort of dungeon crawler it's great. I think I maybe softlocked myself on Level 18 by replacing the ladder with a yellow cross. (OH nevermind I forgot about the maroon orbs LOL I'm going to keep playing) But gosh I love it a lot, I loved how single puzzles would span multiple floors. Reminds me a lot of Void Stranger! Super amazing job
I love puzzle games and this was actually really good. Even though the mechanics definitely are confusing at first, when I realized how they work then I got into the groove quickly. I also love the graphics, and especially the music is fun to listen to. Looking forward to the checkpoint feature, because I got into impossible situations a few times. Otherwise I'm enjoying this game immensely. I'll update this comment when I finish it.
I got stuck on the few levels for longer than I'd like to admit but was eventually able to get hang of the different item mechanics and finish it up! Great work on the game!
@stevenjmiller @majomirez @viktorthegreat @orangeoceans @xry @carlos-murillo
For your enjoyment: I have uploaded a version with a checkpoint feature. This should also ease the pains of any future player. Thank you so much for the kind words! I was so uncertain about my entry, you were all very uplifting :)
@logan-core no way, we have a finisher!!! that's awesome!!!
I really enjoyed the music and the puzzles seem fast paced and interesting. Really enjoyed it! I did take a while to understand how it works (im not sure i do still). Really enojyed it though.
Nice entry, I like the mysterious, otherworldly music, the mechanics are a bit confusing but I got to understand it eventually, or did I?
Thanks for the quick update, I went back and finished it!
Amazing concept and execution, super mysterious, lots of fun, so compelling. Really interesting game with such a unique and rewarding experience. I also got stuck super early on but coming back to finish for sure!
This game is extremely confusing, in fact most of the ways to progress were super difficult to figure out. I don't think I'm going to be able to finish this one, but I can appreciate the effort of creating a more mysterious game where you're just trying to figure out how everything works. However, said discovery process was quite engaging. Good job on creating a compelling atmosphere!
Lovely puzzle game! Really cool to play a game where you're forced to learn the mechanics by playing, with no instructions. Very innovative and fun little game. Great job on the art assets and sound as well for a 48 compo. Got stuck on 24 for 10 minutes - had to give up in the end!
This game is awesome, even I don't know how I got past level 15. Mysterious and tantalizing!
Atmospheric game you got it, the game looks a bit like a prototype, the mechanics are not entirely clear, they could have added a little smoother movement across the tiles
@wad sorry, no, absolutely not! :)
Huge fan of this. Got just over halfway, will be coming back to complete. It's such a fun experience figuring out what everything does and how the spaces relate. Amused myself by smashing a hole all the way back to the first level, which also helped me grok the space a bit more. All of the theming is super clean and works perfectly. Great work!
I'm reminded of The Shadow Out of Time by H.P. Lovecraft. Nice puzzle game.
Haha I got _completely_ confused. I made it through like 4 level, but I didn't learn anything about how the rules work. Hopefully I remember to try this game again later, because I like puzzles like that. But maybe the levels could be designed in a way that the player must understand the rule to proceed (so there is little chance of you succeding by random key presses)?
Super cool job with this, for time reasons I have to stop for now, level 17. But the biggest accomplishment by far in my opinion is making an audience genuinely care when faced with challenge. I always say with game jams its particularly difficult because we have so many games to try and the buy in is 0$ so its easy to walk away. whenever I push a mechanic's difficulty I hear that people will stop at the first sign of failure. I want to come back to your intro again at one point, because it a fantastic example of letting a player explore and feel attached to the system. Great job!
@christian-zommerfelds Hahaha, good luck! I believe the game is fair with the clues it gives! You have to trust the design and make your own guesses ;)
@mz-eth Why, thanks!
Twisted my brain a lot but cool concept! The graphics remind me a lot of Brix and Axiom Verge! Well done!
Wonderful job with the sound and visuals. It took a while to understand how to play but it was fun once I figured it out. The area with the "coffee beans" got me pretty stuck but I'd definitely play this more if I had time.
Awesome puzzle game! This is a potential winner.
Some puzzles needs a clean start (vs start from clearing the previous floor) to be solved. I probably couldn’t have finished the unfixed version. Also, while the holes allows cool muti-floor puzzles, I would have liked something else when it’s just to make you fail the puzzle.
I would have liked to play fullscreen, I only got a window without decorations.
Would recommend a Linux build!
@sentmoraap genuinely interesting feedback, thank you very much!
the game is very interesting, I liked it, the idea is good, continue at the same pace and you will become more professional
