Lol I found the idea pretty funny. Nice job!

obittner 2023-05-02 20:14

Hey, well done. I found the delivery mechanic a bit repetitive after day four (I guess thats how you feel as a delivery boy) but kept playing to see the end. Well executed!

connor-magson 2023-05-02 20:38

Lovely art, really cute well written story, pizza, what's not to love. Really well done, I loved playing this!! Now I'm craving an elven style pizza...

patrick-abernathy 2023-05-02 21:31

This was fun. I really liked the art style. It was kind of relaxing tbh.

Had a blast with this, would love to see more of this!

mateu 2023-05-03 19:13

This was really great honestly. The story was a lot of fun, and the gameplay did a pretty good job to pace it out. You had some really good humor there, and everything was very well put together. I only have one question... Did I get friendzoned at the end?

iminsoftware 2023-05-03 19:18

Great game! It was very charming and the made me laugh several times - good job!

archaeognathus 2023-05-03 20:19

I am usually the last person to fall for romance stuff and have to admit I found the description a bit cheesy (he he, pizza joke) at first, but wow am I happy I tried it anyway! Yes, the delivery itself is a bit repetetive, but the pizza names are funny and creative. As I see it this was anyway just the price for progressing the story, which was extremely cute. Like I said before, I usually don't really enjoy romantic stuff, but that ending almost had me cry! Together with the beautiful art and music the atmosphere was very nice and made my day. 10/10, keep it up! <3 PS: almost broke my heart when I had to bin three wrong pizzas in a row in front of her eyes

This is a really fun and charming game. The story was lovely and had me hooked until the end. The gameplay was relaxing as well.

Just wanted to thank everyone for their feedback, it's all really appreciated and I'm glad you took the time to play the game and comment.

I like that people found it relaxing! As the jam went on and I needed to cut things out, I scrapped the timers and just let the player play at their own pace which I think works better anyway. I'm happy to hear so many positive comments about the story too, I've never done anything like this before so it's amazing to see that people are enjoying it.

@obittner . I wanted to have some other mechanics involving spells to mix things up a bit (Speed up, fireball to get through fences/bushes) but I didn't have time. I also wanted to add some dialogue when you delivered pizzas to give a bit of a reward in and I'm really sad I didn't have time for that.

@mateu No friendzoning here! Though I'm happy for you to interpret it however you like. I debated the last line, "I would have settled for pizza pals", for a while but I wanted to come across as "Of course I'll adventure with you, but I would have been happy even if we're just making pizzas, as long as we're together". Sounds like it didn't quite get there which is a shame but that's game jams for you!

@archaeognathus Wow this is incredible feedback, it really, really means a lot, thank so much and I'm so happy you liked it as much. I'm actually the same in regards to romantic stories but this just kinda unfolded naturally as I made progress and I'm glad it worked out how it did.

thomas-ferrer 2023-05-04 18:52

Pizza delivery felt like a really obvious delivery mechanic, though I think you made it unique enough to fit!

tddawson 2023-05-04 19:04

Great work! I really like the sprite work. The vibe and mood was great with your art and the music you chose. The delivery itself was repetitive like others mentioned, but sounds like you have some ideas to spice it up. A few hitboxes seemed off, too, making it a little hard to squeeze by people for instance. But the trade-off of a few polish items like that for having a completed experience in a weekend is well worth it, imo.

mrs-wheelsx 2023-05-04 19:44

OMG I LOVED it! I am glad that the timers were scrapped. Love the pizza names!!! You have really set this up to be an opening chapter RPG. I would personally prefer it to be a turn based RPG to keep the chill. But it's your world, I just play in it :P I want so much to go adventuring with this lovely couple! Got me right in the feels <3

Goosebumps! Loved the art and the story, especially the characters, and the music you found really suits the game. Would love to see this pair show up again - amazing job with all of it!

enra 2023-05-05 14:24

Wow, a lovely game with a lovely story. You did a great work here!

kartof 2023-05-05 16:27

Nice art, chill music and fluid movement, the game has a nice charm to it!

mnemosynevl 2023-05-05 17:32

Pleasant music, meditative gameplay. Great game!

denka 2023-05-06 00:35

This is a very beautiful and adorable game. It was fun to play! I would love to see more like it 😀

jhax 2023-05-06 11:50

Really heartwarming story, graphics are lovely as well, nice job!

syudzius 2023-05-07 19:45

Good entry, loved the game :) Cute story, art and music are very nice too

yumykon 2023-05-08 03:34

This game is extremely cute and lovely! I loved it from beginning to end, the music is simply beautiful and gave a lot of life and emotion to the atmosphere, the art is pretty and has soft colors that enhance the game theme, the characters and their narratives are charismatic, even though they don't have any facial expressions in their sprites, I was able to feel them and develop empathy for them. One of the games that I was most involved in the narrative while playing, congratulations on the excellent work and amazing game! („• ᴗ •„)

arktas 2023-05-10 20:13

Graphics is good and music keep player in the mood. Basic but perfect fit to the theme ! Only hitbox form seem to be a bit hard to understood and insvisible walls block the player some time. I like the UI system for dialog and compass !

dan-allison 2023-05-18 17:57

Just wanted to reply to everyone again to say thank you all for playing, rating, leaving feedback, even just looking at the page. I know it's only a jam game but it really means a lot to me to have other people playing something I made so I can't thank you all enough.

@tddawson @arktas Yeah I agree about the hitboxes, I had issues with the sprite sorting and had to decide whether to have weird looking sprites or oddly behaving hitboxes at the last minute. Decided to get the sprites working and hoping nobody would notice the hitboxes but obviously wasn't going to happen!

@mrs-wheelsx Thank you so much for such lovely feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed it so much! The last time I did Ludum Dare, I made a turn base tactics game and I'm kicking myself for not linking the two games together now. Could have had my own Ludum Dare universe!

@yumykon That's incredibly nice of you to say, really. One of the optional challenges I gave myself was to make portraits because I wanted to get some kind of emotion off and I don't have a lot of experience making those kind of sprites so I was sad to not find the time for it but I'm really glad to hear it didn't stop you enjoying the game.

zimny11 2023-05-18 18:44

Really cute! Nice art style and I love pizza names. Great job with the game!

honey-pony 2023-05-18 23:55

This game is super, super sweet -- and I love it for that. The dialogs between the characters just had me smiling wider and wider, until of course the last one I just had the biggest smile on my face. It was just an absolutely joyous thing to play through.

The dialog is of course the main driving force of the game in that sense but I enjoyed the pizza delivery gameplay as well. I did not get bored of it at all -- I can see why it could be considered repetitive, but this was not a problem for me. After all, it is made extremely clear that we only have to do exactly 5 days of pizza delivery, and this just isn't enough for me to get bored.

There is of course also parallels to other repetitive, working-a-job games like farming games, and I think the art style in particular is reminiscent of Stardew Valley. The art (plus the music) is actually one of the reasons I find the delivery gameplay quite relaxing -- it's kind of like walking through town in Stardew Valley, it's just a nice space to move through.

One thing I do think would be cool: having to physically go to the blacksmith shop yourself to get the gift. I was glad that there was a separate dialog for that, but I think it would be even better if the player had to actually go there manually; I think it would make the story more immersive. That's a bit of a nitpick, of course.

Overall, this was great. I had a fantastic time playing through this. Great job!

trassh 2023-05-19 18:38

Imma be honest it was lacking a bit in terms of gameplay and visuals, but the story this game tells is so good it kept me in! It's getting a high rating from me!
