LD38 — A Small World

Atomic Runner by Jason Lothamer 2017-04-24T13:04:46Z

The A button was meant for a gamepad, which isn't supported in html5 (at least not as godot does it). I have updated the game to change the message and did some other tweaks for html5. Later today I'll add some instructions. Thanks!!!

LD39 — Running out of Power

Shekateka by dietzribi 2017-08-01T19:59:31Z

Loved the plug-in mechanic! Got stuck on the first room with 3 zombies, though. Didn't seem like I could get through the door. (?) Could be just me. Still - awesome job!

SpaceBase LD39 by Jason Lothamer 2017-08-02T16:18:50Z

@Xarras - that's a good idea. The original idea was that the enemy's were warping in but I didn't have time to implement that. @vizitas - that too is a good idea. I wanted to implement a level or wave system, but also ran out of time for that. I think I'll update the game after the voting is done with these and other ideas! Thanks to everyone for trying my game! Feed back appreciated!

SpaceBase LD39 by Jason Lothamer 2017-08-17T09:41:16Z

Thanks, @Wizard.Exe! I have expanded the game to include some of the feedback I've received. I will re-publish with the improvements once voting is done. Thanks to everyone who has tried my game!!

Cavernous by Takki 2017-08-01T09:53:24Z

Graphics are good! Sound on beginning menu is good too! Could have used a better track during play. Also, I fell down a "shaft" and found that I could not get out. It's never a good experience to get stuck in a game. And there's no way to quit the game once you start playing it. Next time add a pause/quit feature. If it weren't for being able to get stuck like this, this is a pretty good game!

TrappedWithAI9000 by werlar 2017-08-01T10:07:54Z

This game sounds pretty neat. Could you generate a version playable in browser? Or a linux version perhaps?

Chase by Kuz 2017-08-01T10:05:21Z

This game is pretty well done! Impressive give the time constraints! My only complaint is that, for me anyway, the mouse should be inverted - or at least have the option.

Lost in Space by Hellblade 2017-08-01T18:38:20Z

I thought the movement was OK, but I had to stop thinking about controlling a ship and thinking more in terms of controlling a character in a top-down game. I would of liked a few more sounds affects for explosions to make them more visceral. But I really like the concept and this fit very well with the theme!

Spooky the Scared Ghost by democore 2017-08-01T15:52:12Z

Ah, now that I read other's comments I understand why the game zoomed in. I agree, it's probably an aspect of this game that should be dropped. But I love the cute ghost! And the way the intro is worked into the game is very nice as well! Great work!

LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Mallio Cart by Ava Skoog 2017-12-05T16:07:36Z

Wanted to like this! Such charm! But, alas, not being able to invert the mouse look really made it hard to play. Q/R seemed to do be switched, and once I got the shopping list up, I couldn't put it away. (User error? Seems like hitting the same key would dismiss it.)

Cute Cats Daily by impbox 2017-12-05T17:37:17Z

Man! Same concept as my game, but WAY BETTER! You implemented having to clean the litter and everything! Great job!!

You must have made some bug fixes, because I didn't notice anything wrong with the game. It's pretty much perfect!

grooOW! by ladybenko 2017-12-05T00:11:41Z

This is a GREAT game and you really nailed the theme! I'm impressed!! The only thing I'd add is more levels! And the floating circles don't seem to fit into the levels much. Perhaps more variety on enemies could help too. Still, really nice!

KITTEN SITTER by sadsmile 2017-12-08T18:22:27Z

The graphics are great, and the game play isn't bad. I had trouble feeding the cats, though, and so one of them died. So sad!!!

Castle Diorama by Abuki 2017-12-05T17:43:08Z

The graphics are nice, but . . . I didn't really enjoy it. It didn't feel "game" enough. Sorry!!

Inky Pinky Square by Psychedelia 2017-12-05T13:10:22Z

I think this is a very good game! I like the expressions on the squares! And how it adds more squares when you die, which make it really hard on some levels! I think that's the only issue with this game really - the difficulty curb can be a bit sharp. I like the bouncy music too - goes well with the art/design!

Mortal Komba by kokirisandfriends 2017-12-05T13:14:32Z

tops!

LD44 — Your life is currency

Fehu by graebor 2019-05-02T00:09:56Z

This is art. Period! The atmosphere is great, the sound, soundtrack and style of art all mix so very well. I guess I only wish the puzzles had been a bit more involved, which I'm sure would have gotten there with more time. Great game!

Death Alley by DuzzOnDrums 2019-05-01T22:29:39Z

Love the art and humor! The style is awesome! Kinda wish something happened to me when I lost at the end though.

Timezone by joemanaco 2019-04-30T15:59:37Z

Great little game! It's hard. Maybe a bit too hard, but that's fine. My only small niggle would be the use a different key for jump than up. Maybe it's because I'm left handed, but movement with arrow keys felt fine, but jumping was more difficult. Like a said, a small issue.

BULLDOZERS! FROM OUTER SPACE by auxC 2019-05-02T22:13:39Z

Not sure what others are complaining about. I think this is really great! I liked the look and feel, and the mechanics are good for a jam game. All 5's in my book!

LD Force by Jason Lothamer 2019-04-30T23:47:49Z

Hey! Thanks everyone for playing and giving me feedback!

@youpeoples you are exactly right. I didn't have a visibility check which made everything active at once, killing the performance and apparently making the game engine miss hits because of the lag. I've added that to the enemy objects and made new builds. It works much, much better. There's still that initial lag on the first firing of the "mob" enemies. (I call them spray enemies in the code. But mob works too.) I'd like to figure that out too, but I don't consider that game breaking and so won't release a fix for that during the jam. Nope, warts and all, this fixed version is what people will have to enjoy during the rest of the voting.

Anyway, thanks again! Hope to get around to all of your games soon too if you did a linux or web build.

-Jason

GAIZAN : JUSTICE WAR by 3mpty 2019-05-01T00:04:56Z

This game is great! I really played it for a long time! How many levels did you make? Or is it randomized?? The announcer was funny too! I didn't understand it everytime, but it kinda reminded me of the old Duke Nukem. hehe

Rashness by Saering 2019-04-30T14:25:56Z

The first game I've played for LD44 and already the curve is blown! Nice job keeping the scope down! Just like everyone else I think the graphics, sound and execution is great! Knowing you did compo I can't really complain about too easy or too hard. I'd be proud of this one!

Guardian Sphere by Pixel-boy 2019-05-01T22:59:33Z

At first I thought this was too hard. But then figured out on subsequent plays that keeping your level up is the key. Very nice game, even in it's unfinished state! I had the same idea, though executed in an R Type side-scroll style, mostly because it's what I'm used to and easiest for one person to develop. Makes me think I should get a team for the next one! Great job!

Petulant Petrolheads by SeriouslyCrunchy 2019-05-01T15:43:20Z

Really like the hand drawn art! And the game got fun once I got the hang of it! Could use a cool mad-max-vibe soundtrack to help the mood. A nice site for finding that sort of track (and others) would be incompetech.com if anyone is interested.

utsvulten by ditto 2019-05-01T22:19:18Z

OMG. I'm going to have wonderful nightmares after this one :) I played till one of them died. Was that good? I don't know. Loved the surprises!! Geesh. This one really makes you think!

LD45 — Start with nothing

Soundmarine by Dustyroom 2019-10-09T23:47:26Z

"Judas Priest" That's what I said to myself when I played and the music started. Top marks for art, music, mood, and inovation. I could play more levels chillin' to the music with this flying submarine. Great job!

Flubby Farm by yazara 2019-10-08T15:47:39Z

Everything is so well done here! The design, art, sound, it's all good! I only wish I had more time to play!

VELOCE by torfi 2019-10-08T15:29:11Z

I have to admit I didn't get the game at first, but the sound and art kept me engaged long enough to finally get it. Very well adherance to the theme, I must say!

Nüllptr by egordorichev 2019-10-08T15:41:39Z

Cool little game that just needs a bit of balance. I felt like the game threw too much at me too soon, and should ramp up the action more gradually.

[NSFW] Naked Escape by Hilvon 2019-10-08T20:47:08Z

I hear you on the theme. For some reason this jam always seems to have the toughest or worst themes. But on the other hand others seem to love them. *shrug* To each their own. I'm just thankful I have another reason to jam!

Falling by Dizzy Dalvin 2019-10-09T14:45:33Z

It's cool that you made a story with dialog and such! Good job!

You Gotta Be Kitten Me by Silas Reinagel 2019-10-08T20:38:44Z

I counted about 9 people involved in making this game! And it shows! It's very good! From the cute graphics, to the humor and the relatively large amount of game packed into a short jam game! Plus the sound track is awesome! I found that I could use a game pad for some things, but not all controls. And that's my only complaint. Well done!

Enter the Abyss by GuitarBro 2019-10-10T00:00:51Z

Theres soooooooo much to love about this! Full game please!!!! THe art, sound, the controls. We just need a bit of story and a whole lot of levels. Should be doable by end of the voting, no? :) Seriously, though, great job! And thank you so much for a linux build!!

Epoch by Cosmic Adventure Squad 2019-10-09T15:23:37Z

Great job with the big bang idea! I had the same one but didn't know what game play that would involve. I think everything's great about this game! I really enjoyed it!

Seedlings by Raed 2019-10-09T15:15:46Z

The game is cute and the controls aren't too bad once figured out. Not sure why the active game area is so limited, but that's not too big of a deal. The leaves seemed to not respond to the puffs of air for me, but maybe I was missing something. The biggest issue I had was, well, is there a win/loose condition to this? Maybe, but I didn't have the time to dedicate towards playing for longer than 10 minutes to find out. Maybe add some sort of element of progress to the game or a goal.

Terra Nil - Reclaim the Wasteland by vfqd 2019-10-08T20:22:31Z

I really enjoyed this game! Very well balanced! Everything is so well done! All 5's from me!

Spooktober Survival by LeBossMax2 2019-10-08T15:23:55Z

Took me a while to find a body, so I have to ask, what's the game design behind having a part of the game where the player can't do anything? Maybe work being a ghost as part of the game, like you can leave your body to pass through walls or something. And maybe instead of having to find a specific body you can take over any old enemy's body. And a game where you just survive as long as possible isn't too interesting. Maybe instead you have a count down and each time the count down is zero the player "wins" and a new wave begins with more and/or different enemies. Lastly, it was easy to get hung up on static items in the environment, so that should be addressed too.

Don't get me wrong, this is a good game for the short jam! I did enjoy it, but I wanted to provide feedback for ways to improve it. I think the art is good, the choice of music is appropriate, and I like that it's theme.

Keep Me Burning by NavrcL 2019-10-08T15:37:29Z

Very well done game except for balance. It felt like I was playing Hollow Knight. Maybe make the oil last longer or have more drops.

LD54 — Limited Space

Wellslide by Alfred Clark 2023-10-03T20:53:32Z

Could have used some instructions, but this game was quite fun just going for it! I liked the art and the funny sound the guy made when jumping. There's just one problem. That darn bird! A bb gun power up would be usefull :)

[in frame] by PizzArt64 2023-10-03T21:14:19Z

Despite a few issues, I really enjoyed this game! It's a great idea and for the most part very well executed!

I have to tell you having to use WASD keys and not being able to also use arrow keys hindered the experience. Left handers can use WASD, but it's uncomfortable and tires after a bit. And it's so easy in Godot to just support both at the same time.

I too got stuck in places and wished that I could jump or if it just let me step over things. Maybe the no-jump deal was part of it though.

LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

FRUIT-TYPE by voxel 2018-04-23T09:54:31Z

I really like this game! I'm impressed!
