Always love a shoot em up and this was no exception! I wasnt able to get any money so not super sure what was happening there. The hits not registering all the time does make it a bit annoying.

keyboard controls do not work at all if you've got a gamepad plugged in. The game lags everytime the ground mob shoots the multi directional bullets. Are you drawing all objects on a stage the entire time? And allowing them to shoot? Consider only activating a little bit beyond what the player can see. Its sortof unplayable with the constant lagfreeze spikes.
Great concept, if sadly rather short. The money worked for me and the hit detection seemed ok! It also looks very good graphically, I'd like to see an extended version post-LD!
nice try of a shooter, i like the Sounds most, but i have the same Problem as @malarpuppet and the button on ESC to move in main menu doesnt work. i will check it again! Hope for a edit. :dragon_face: :hearts:
A nice game, the graphics and sound effects are minimalistic, but the overall feeling is great. It's a shame about the bugs with money and hits not registering. But keep at it, next time you will work faster and you will have more time for ironing out the kinks like this. It's the time pressure and the fact that you actually do the LD that makes you better over time :)

@youpeoples you are exactly right. I didn't have a visibility check which made everything active at once, killing the performance and apparently making the game engine miss hits because of the lag. I've added that to the enemy objects and made new builds. It works much, much better. There's still that initial lag on the first firing of the "mob" enemies. (I call them spray enemies in the code. But mob works too.) I'd like to figure that out too, but I don't consider that game breaking and so won't release a fix for that during the jam. Nope, warts and all, this fixed version is what people will have to enjoy during the rest of the voting.
Anyway, thanks again! Hope to get around to all of your games soon too if you did a linux or web build.

I suppose I have the new build, I had lag when using triple shots, and still couldn't get many hits to register and most of times the money didn't register, only one time (which was when I was able to buy the upgrade). Other than that, feeling is good (though hard to control using keyboard) and concept is nice. Great job!
Quite fun. My problem is maybe the movement is too sensitive, fire rate too slow, or enemy ship/your bullets are too small so it can be hard to line up in the same axis to shoot enemies.
This game is a nice reminder that the ol' space shmups existed, I too was confused by the whole money thing. It seems if you have money but don't spend it, you lose the money?
