Amazing work with the visuals, music, and gameplay. One of the best I've seen so far.

drums 2019-10-08 00:28

Very smooth and polished game, it was great! The music stopped playing after a bit, but other than that it felt good and even dying kind of felt satisfying.

optus23 2019-10-08 00:45

The Best game I played!

u-tsang-clan 2019-10-08 02:20

Really tough but pretty fun. The sensitivity was a little too low and which caused some issues. Namely my cursor would exit the screen before my character could get to the edge and it would cease all input. Otherwise quite fun and pretty nice looking.

$162477 2019-10-08 02:55

It seems there is a minor bug where if you get a score of zero it displays your previous score on the game over screen. Other than some mouse issues, the game is a lot of fun, the difficulty ramps up at a good pace and keeping track of the various shot patterns is fun. All in all pretty good!

aconfusedragon 2019-10-08 03:08

now THIS is FUN, super duper polished and the music is fantastic, i could play this game for a long time <3 amazing work!!!!!

shaolin-dave 2019-10-08 04:25

One of the few games I'm going to keep playing even after the jam.

On paper, the constantly changing fire style isn't something that I'd recommend. In practice, I'm surprised how well it created an evolving but still fair challenge.

Sounds are good, except the music cut out after a couple rounds. Graphics are the perfect amount of complexity.

EDIT: just wanted to say you should update your build. The app is named "Default Mac desktop Universal" and has the default icon.

neverix 2019-10-08 05:50

This has a simple gameplay polished into oblivion, and it worked! Awesome 5/5

neverix 2019-10-08 05:52

@torfi I think you need to rate others' games to get more ratings

shieldgenerator7 2019-10-08 06:16

by far the best game ive played so far in the jam

the music is upbeat and really adds to the action atmosphere of the game.

it's really to get into the zone and dodge all the enemy projectiles, especially since the color coding and sprite differences make it really easy to tell which particles are good and which are bad.

i really cool game i want to play on my phone when im bored

velvetlobster 2019-10-08 07:44

this is very complete, it has rhythm, intensity, difficulty ... even the feedback is very neat ... it seems a lot like an addicting mobile game

hydezeke 2019-10-08 07:48

This was so fun and addictive. Great polished look and feel. Good work ! !

d1gital-cuts 2019-10-08 08:38

This game has the addictiveness of a incremental clickers combined with the fun of top-down shooters. Would've played a lot more if it had keyboard controls, but that's a purely personal preference. Also, well done on the polish!

a333 2019-10-08 08:40

That's an awesome entry. Solid gameplay core and great visuals to accompany it, highly addictive and challenging. Gotta play some more!

pierre-feuille-studio 2019-10-08 14:36

I think everything has been said already. Great visuals & overall feel of the game. Certainly doesn't feel like it's been made in 72hrs. Great work!

jason-lothamer 2019-10-08 15:29

I have to admit I didn't get the game at first, but the sound and art kept me engaged long enough to finally get it. Very well adherance to the theme, I must say!

bearlikelion 2019-10-08 16:10

Perfect example of easy to learn difficult to master game design. I loved the mood/aesthetic. The homing enemies are really difficult, never made it past score 3.

designernap 2019-10-08 16:12

Lovely entry. One of the strongest I have played this Ludum Dare. Excellent work.

sam-dower 2019-10-08 16:13

Awesome game, well done

raitozan 2019-10-08 16:33

This is really great work ! awesome graphics and sound design, the gameplay mechanic is really simple but the way the difficulty curve is made with all the shoot pattern that you don't control makes it really interesting and difficult ! love it !

fenderbate 2019-10-08 16:51

Very well made game. Very well polished, simple gameplay, I really liked it. reminds my of old flash games

mr-tag 2019-10-08 16:54

holy moly, this game is POLISHED! i kept replaying it to get a better score, it is a LOT of fun, well done!

aayph 2019-10-08 17:02

Really neat game, made it to score 11. I like how the weapon not only get better but just different sometimes. The sound and the music are the perfect juice besides the already great simplistic look.

gwinnell 2019-10-08 18:31

Super cool style. Great, simple game mechanic. Well executed!

guardaro 2019-10-08 19:47

Super fun game! Very simple yet surprisingly challenging. The music started off fun, but got a bit annoying after a few playthroughs. I enjoyed the constantly updating enemies and projectile types. Good stuff!

autumn-schutt 2019-10-08 19:52

Very smooth and intuitive. It's a very simple but very fun game! I really like it!! If you made a phone app for it I would probably spend hours playing it.

wdebowicz 2019-10-08 21:44

The gameplay makes me stay and play, because I'm curious what is the next upgrade. Also music is super addictive and makes good mode. Well done!

2019-10-09 00:22

Very nice, simple, no extra fluff, and smooth learning curve. Kudos for the music loop, which is surprisingly tolerable on very long playtime!

zhorky 2019-10-09 07:57

One of the best i played so far. Even though im too bad to play this game. My best is rank 4.

antoined73 2019-10-09 11:35

Amazing game, simple but super addictive ! Made it to the 12th level ! I also love how you managed to blend the game with your itch.io background ! Music, UI and graphics are really polished ! How do managed to make this sort of grow / shrink effect on the borders of the game ? I am curious to know !

technsmile 2019-10-09 12:26

The concept is simple but efficient for the player's experience. It's clever to change the shot system at every level, that forces the player to adapt his position in the space to kill the enemies. That creates diversity in the gameplay. Maybe add some more vFX to the enemies or colors more different

whomakeworse 2019-10-09 13:14

Amazing game, the design is so cool. I forced myself to stop playing, otherwise I would become addict to it.

lomna 2019-10-09 13:41

This game is very well polished. Simple yet addictive.

torfi 2019-10-09 15:26

@antoined73 Thanks! 12 is a good score! That effect is a combination of the Stylizer Unity plugin and post-processing bloom.

cybersoftuk 2019-10-09 16:27

awesome game, really fun to play, i really like the effect around the edges of the screen where the enemies pierce through, it gets pretty intense as soon as you get the 4-way. seems very polished too, well done!

antoined73 2019-10-09 16:41

@torfi Oh I see ! Thanks for answering ! I'm following you on itch.io, your games are all stunning (graphically at least, I didn't played the others yet).

drazhaar 2019-10-09 17:12

Elegant gamedesign very well balanced, which makes me want to keep tryingin 'over and over. Well done people :)

lucien-catonnet 2019-10-09 18:59

Woah nice game, simple yet oddly addictive mechanic, I found myself dodging things without thinking, the music helps a lot. It's a really interesting thing that by having your "dot" only shoot in specific directions you find yourself needing to move around completely differently! I only wish there'd be more lives or some way to start at a certain level, because restarting from level 1 gets boring when you get used to the higher levels. Congratulations!

pablotitan 2019-10-09 19:48

Excellent controls! I liked the effect of metaballs when near the edge or some object and it has a really interesting texture :D

smileyface 2019-10-09 23:25

I loved everything about this game except maybe the inconsistent sensitivity of the mouse which killed me a lot. Regardless so far one of the most polished and fun games I've played this jam.

squid109 2019-10-09 23:40

Honestly im in love with how challenging this game is, I enjoy the aesthetics of the game. I hope you keep this up to make games like this to the same quality and standard cause it is so fun.

caio-rmota 2019-10-10 03:03

Art style is really inspiring, I don't think I ever saw this type of pattern being used in a such good way. The music is exciting as hell, couldn't stop playing - except that I'm not as good as your game requires... but it's fine, I'm kinda tired right now so that's probably making my reflexes less accurate!

Using the notebook touchpad was really satisfying, would love to play this on mobile.

patricio 2019-10-10 08:57

A really great game as a whole. Love the plasma-like effect around objects and in the map´s bounds :D

navrcl 2019-10-10 10:59

One of my favourites! Perfect visuals, gameplay and sounds. It's hard but very addictive. Really very well made and one of the best I've played so far. Great job!

brokenmirrormedia 2019-10-10 17:46

visual style is really nice, music works really well, I just wish that there was some kind of lives or checkpoint system since progression can feel a bit tedious to get back to where you were before. Overall really neat!

guilb 2019-10-10 18:47

Very addictive and challenging, awesome progression, and really like how you always feels like it is an easy game, but suddenly get hit

saintheiser 2019-10-10 19:55

Fun game! My best is 12 At some point upgrades repeats and I lost my interest =( Game needs more various weapons. I love the point of the game where I got mines - this is a WOW moment. This is very cool point give to player different weapon each time, maybe random weapon? Love the visuals too - cool CRT effect and how player 'glue' with walls whet it bounds it. But music is too repetative for me. Anyway this is a good solid game!

sarajs 2019-10-11 14:08

This was ace! very addictive!

kebo 2019-10-11 14:20

awesome music, art and particles

anstabo 2019-10-11 17:22

Very nice post process shader, helps with the mood and lisibility, well done! One thing I would've liked, is a warning where ennemies will pop-out. I never died because of this but it made me paranoid ^^.

tofuman 2019-10-12 04:29

I find the randomed attack pattern a bit too punishing... maybe when changing phase, give the player a bit hit about "what is about to come" will be better. Cubito Mayhem will be a great example.

strange-nebula 2019-10-12 16:56

This game is super addictive, great job though :)

ferdi 2019-10-12 17:29

WOW I couldn't stop playing. I really love your shaders. Great entry ! congrats

martynas 2019-10-12 18:48

Addicting!

chivatateo 2019-10-13 14:39

Great game!

If in the future shot will be created with beats (and music changes with levels for example) it would be very very nice rhythm game. Enemies must get this rhythm too, looks like they are deaf or just dont like this music :)

mharring 2019-10-14 02:24

Nice! I really like the style, feels very retro. The gameplay is really simple yet engaging. My only complaint is that you only have one hit before restarting - it would be nice to have one "shield" that would absorb one hit and recharge, to be a little more forgiving on a single mistake every so often. That said though, great job!

pranjalbisht 2019-10-17 08:00

Wow, this was hard as nails. I couldn't get past 8, I'm not very good at it xD Very interesting use of the shaders!

rebtf 2019-10-17 23:04

Very strong aesthetic with the graphics, effects and music.

I found it frustrating at first when "upgrading" your weapon would make it worse but it was much more interesting when I thought about it from the perspective of each upgrade being a different level that you have to try to beat.

I will admit I eventually stopped because I found it quite frustrating but I did get 12 which I'm quite happy with . I also really like the level based scoring instead of kills or green things collected.

tweedle 2019-10-23 22:26

nice work! this was fun and i liked the way you upgraded, nice level of difficulty and replayability also
