nice level design, obviously you are experienced in balancing gameplay. really impressed with what you were able to accomplish.

nice level design, obviously you are experienced in balancing gameplay. really impressed with what you were able to accomplish.
Good mechanic that fits the theme well. Like the graphics. The music just sounded like someone plinking around on a piano aimlessly :D . But great game and I give it high ratings! Keep it up!
really unique take on the theme, something i haven't seen before in game design. thanks for making it!
Balanced gameplay and awesome graphics. Feels really polished! Good work guys
Awesome concept - great execution, graphics are perfect. i thought the music sounded a little too MIDI-ish for my taste. But you scored really high on the fun meter- especially when the cars pile up after you lose, it's very rewarding to sit and watch.
Nice sound effects. You do a good piratey voice! My favorite part of the game is being able to just give up on life and sail out to sea. Screen Shot 2017-12-05 at 8.02.25 AM.png
nice concept! I liked the idea of being the shopkeeper, not the adventurer, and having to deal with all that INVENTORY! haha. good one!
nearly being a member of the bald club myself, i enjoyed the theme, graphics, and gameplay. fun game and look forward to seeing what you do in the future.
Nice music and mood. I found it a little stressful and difficult, which i think is the point. Maybe instead of ending the game and restarting if you don't respond in time, the game could just lower your "friendship points" until you reach zero, so it's more forgiving. Great concept!
Thanks @kevin-mooney and @konomizure! This is my first LD entry, and my first PICO-8 game. Glad you enjoyed a minute of wall painting
Great graphics and theme! Good job guys
love the graphics, feel, and mood.
i was watching the development of this game on twitter! the shrinking wall is one of the best mechanics to go with the theme, because it can be used to kill enemies. would like to be able to shoot from ladders, and jump off ledges : ) !
what the? this game is awesome. creative idea and great execution. nice!
awesome concept for the theme. reminded me a bit of undercooked, in a good way. great work!
great concept, and great execution. Thanks!
such a great idea for a puzzle game. oddly satisfying!
@niarkou Thank you. Yes, looks like you are stuck. just press Z to reset the level.
@valden yeah, i realize the skill ramp isn't perfect. maybe i will rearrange some of the levels to provide a smoother increase in difficulty.
@rusty-bailey thanks for the feedback, and the bug report. that is super weird. i'll have to try it out myself and see what is going on with the level data. my guess is that it think the shadow-guy is active even though it isnt' showing him : )
Great game. really smooth ui execution, especially for pico-8!
suggestion: once all available squares are filled, it should go into fast-forward mode, since all there is to do is wait.
good graphics, style, and feel. awesome work!
great theme and graphics. really enjoyed the spoken word bits. game-feel could be improved a bit during the run-and-jump phase
Interesting and novel input mechanic, could be more fun on a touch screen. I liked the idea a lot! Good work.
I came for the goop and stayed for the puzzles. Really enjoyed the level where you use the rocks as shields. You should continue adding levels!
Love the style, music, and gameplay - nice work!
@matthew-rose press "x" to reset a level!! Thanks for bringing that to my attention, I have added it to the How to Play.
Digging the art style. And the platforming part keeps me on my toes. Feels a little like the floating log part of frogger mixed with space invaders. Could use a little more polish. And I wasn't exactly sure how the gameplay ties in with the "start with nothing" prompt.
Hey Cody! Love the concepts here. I echo what some other people are saying. The story element is really nice and elevates it above some more abstract puzzlers. Some ideas: Have waves come from many different angles. Having a queue of approaching waves would be nice, as well as a visual countdown timer.
nice work!
Graphics are great. That's awesome that you used Defold as well! Nice work : )
A fellow PICO-8 entry! Nice work, could use a little polish, but very solid for a jam.
Very nice, with a few improvements, it would make a very good mobile game.
@unept @cobear25 @bloodyaugust thanks for the feedback. I made it so the X to reset button only works when the Reset message appears (if you get roasted or break an egg.) That should help with accidental resets.
I agree the flashing is a bit extreme, but i wanted the chicken to have a heavy metal moment. I limited it to just 3 seconds, so hopefully that's short enough that no one will have problems.
@alanxoc3 @gal-afik @yeo-niki Thanks for the comments. I will consider adding more obstacles and levels in the future! @mmatt-ugh yeah something about that juxtaposition really works huh.
@ludipe yeah that's an interesting balance. I wanted to prioritize being careful more than being fast, just to give the game a certain feel. But a timed mode would be fun and definitely add another facet to the gameplay.
thanks @jspacek, you made my day!
Took me a minute to figure out the grabbing controls with my trackpad, but I got it. Great concept and really polished execution!
