Great mood, with the lights and ghost. The platform type levels were kinda slow-paced, but looks good. Darkness was nicely implemented.
Nice work! I love the art style and the 2.5D perspective. I enjoying the thematic way the camera zooms in and restricts your view when Spooky's eyes are covered, but I'm not sure I'm a fan of it form a mechanical perspective as it just ends up being a bit frustrating. Nevertheless it's a nice game :)
Cute ghost and interesting tricks with the light! It's realy dark in that place, sometimes I jumped just at random)
Same opinion than Hammers about the eyes covered. Frustrating but very good idea, very meaningfull ! The ghost is also very cute :) The begining of the game is well introduced. Good game !
This is a really cute game. Maybe you could do some bar to know when your Spooky is calmed enough. I think it is a lovely idea!
I liked the cute ghost, the perspective and the messages that were on the levels. The introduction was very nice and it teaches the basics very well. I would liked if you changed the tileset or the background to have a clearer way to know were to go to.
I tried to play this on Chrome and the ghost couldn't jump very high. I tried too on Firefox but the delay on the inputs was too much. downloading it is the way to play this one.
Ah, now that I read other's comments I understand why the game zoomed in. I agree, it's probably an aspect of this game that should be dropped. But I love the cute ghost! And the way the intro is worked into the game is very nice as well! Great work!
The graphics are cute, but Spooky's low jump height made the game a little frustrating. If I could just reach the ledge I'm stuck under, the game would be great.
Whoa. I like this a lot visually! Not sure if I love the "trolling" messages in the dungeon or the extreme zoom in when not moving (solved by rapidly tapping back and forth), but this is fantastic, original work for 72 hours.
I love the art style but I only managed to get to the second level as I didn't managed the jump upwards after the "Down here?" text. I needed three attempts to get over the obstacle in the tutorial section. The fact that I can trap myself by doing a single wrong move also fells unfair. If I fail, please let me retry fast.
Played on Android by the way.
Though Spooky's fear mechanic was a bit unintuitive, it was a nice game with decent mechanics, if a bit procedural levels. Overall, good!
Love the art style! Very cute. The idea is really interesting, though I found myself struggling to complete the first "real" level. Still really enjoyed it.
Nice! This really puts a good spin on the theme, and it's very endearing :)
I think this is one of the most adorable ghosts in a video game I've ever seen! I basically just agree with everything everybody else has said! I enjoyed it, good job~!
I wanna thank you for playing our game, [Powered By Coal](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/39/powered-by-coal).
A platformer needs **good controls** and you nailed it. I hate playing a platformer with floaty controls and I'm glad you put the time into making them as good as they are.
**The art really good.** The only thing lacking is content, but it's understandable as the time given to us isn't that long. Next time try to focus on variations and implementing new features instead of making the game longer. In that way, you can still get the idea across and keep better retention of the players. It's easier said than done and you still did a great job with this.
**I like the implementation of the theme** built into this platformer.
Hope you two had a great time and good luck!

Spooky is very likable and animated enough to care for him. Enjoyed how easy it is to grasp the concept and the mechanics handled very well. I found the camera to be zoom-in/zoom-out to be a little disorienting especially for a platformer and I got lost quite easily with little direction on where to go next. Overall, controls are responsive, hints are not "in your way" which is always a plus for me, and the theme was handled in a unique way. :)
The animation and sound design are really cute! Music was nicely atmospheric, however I think there really should have been a different theme at the end when you reach the light to enhance Spooky's sense of relief - some very peaceful and calm music.
I liked the zoom effect at the beginning of each level, but the effect probably was a little bit too extreme and could have bit of a wider frame.
I love the art of this game! The ghost's appearance and sounds are actually really cute!
The overall gameplay I think is fine for a jam. Controls seem very usable, I generally didn't have too much trouble getting through the levels.
I agree with other commenters ( @simonhutchinson and @mgpxl ) that, although the zoom-in was cool at the beginning of the levels, it became a bit strong and too frequent... and started getting frustrating after a while. Hopefully it wouldn't be a big problem to change!
I also agree with @simonhutchinson about trolling players. I find if done tastefully and in a way that people will generally just... find funny, it can be fun all around. But if you do it in a way that even slightly punishes the player, it can make your game real unpalatable real fast. It wasn't too bad here, just something to consider for future. :-)
Also just so you know, I saw some weird graphical... weirdness in the last level. The platform I was standing on had no thickness. I also saw the outdoor skybox (?) between a gap in the wall:

Overall, I think you'd need to invest some time in bringing this beyond the jam stage, but the visuals, controls, and audio really help to give this game a unique feel... I like. Thanks for sharing! :-D
