Incredible art and atmosphere, pretty fun gameplay too!
Nice game! Love the graphics!
Interesting card battle mechanics. I thought this was an interesting game with a lot of great art and sounds. I would have liked more information on the order that the cards were played in, If I had to guess off of playing several rounds it felt like there was a preset order based on the card, so generally they went in an advantageous order, but I was never sure. Swapping around equipment on a mech to determine what cards are available is an awesome design choice for deck-building and I liked that you had several different builds possible. Overall a very well done, great game!
Man, what a fun little piece. I loved the art, the sound design, the gameplay and etc. It's incredible that you guys made ir in such short amount of time. Congrats, the game looks like something i would buy, so, please, continue the game!
@devon-chan There should be a super simple one as far as just getting you geared up enough to continue. Maybe it bugged out? Do you not get the part install instructions or does the start button never show up?
Really love the aesthetics, I can tell a lot of love went into the sprites! Figuring out how to combo the cards together is also fun, and having to discard down two cards after each draw makes for a unique feeling card game.
Really georgeous game! I love the cards, and the interface, animations for the cards getting played and even the upgrades! Really appretiate that thje x2 sheild happens _after_ the +5 shield :D (or maybe was i just lucky?)
I did find that it was bit challenging to know what the new items in the garage would do: Screen Shot 2023-10-03 at 3.03.58 pm.png
Seemed like only _after_ i added the item could i figure out what the new associated cards would do.
great work! Loved it :D
@fireslash I tried again and it is working now!!
I really like how elegantly this game is designed - you can see and counter a strategy just by looking at the cards available! The art is also amazing, and the music is really nostalgic. While each round does automatically resolve, I'd like to see when each card would be played when hovered over. Some cards are more obvious than others when it comes to turn order (Retaliation comes after the attacks, but what about healing?)
wow, I really liked this, found myself playing it for a while. Great menus, hover over context info, visual feedback/sounds on attack/defense sequences, cool battle log. overall really polished, excellent work!
Wow--this was absolutely wonderful to play. The concept was really interesting--the graphics and gameplay were really polished, and the game itself was quite fun. Good job!
Played this a whole bunch, only thing I would change is a speed up for the battle animations. Other than that a superb game!
I really enjoyed this game. The art is fantastic and I thought that the card battling mechanics were fun. I felt that the battles sometimes seemed a bit too long, especially when the enemy has shield or healing cards.
I also discovered a pretty major bug. If you click on your discarded cards after the round starts, they will be reactivated. This allows you to use all 5 cards every round.
Excellent across the board. I didn't manage to beat what I suspected was the final fight, but after more then an hour I had other things to do! Good luck!
the art is SO PRETTY
i was just going to comment that it reminded me a bit of va11ha11a and then i clicked on ur profile and was like "...oh!!"
Bro this is a masterpiece
Wow! The art is great and I really like being able to see what is coming and then its up to you to play around it. Really impressive game, great job!
wow, very beautiful art. I like the way the characters are drawn
Wow, this is just a fantastic work, loved the art style and sound design fits perfectly.

Great game! Kinda slow while you wait for all the attack to play, would love some way to speed it up
wow this art and game mechanics are amazing, i just felt it a bit too slow waiting for the cards animations, but that didn't subtract anything from the game. Amazin work!
Visuals here are great! The art style is crisp and a joy to look at. I dig all the UI elements and their layout. I do wish the combat was a bit more exciting to watch. Other than the combat, there is a ton of little polish things in here that really make the game feel good. From the scrolling backgrounds and banners, to the visual touches on the dialog boxes, it really comes together as a great package. Only other real critique is the slow pace of the fights. Once I got the hang of how the phases were ordered and which cards would play, I wish I could speed up the fights a bit. Very fun mechanics, and I'm always happy to play another Haxe entry!
That game looks SO good, and sounds SO amazing. I need to play again and hope that the RNG doesn't hate me this time. xD
wtf this is killing it are you sure its a jam entry this is literaly steam playable
The art is incredible! I liked the game, but especially the visual! Thank you for your work!
Amazing art style! Reminds me of the game graphics on PC98. The gameplay is simple but requires some thinking. It also reminds me of the fun I had playing card games like Yu-Gi-Oh! My turn, draw!
nice game ,so good
Very impressive pixel art and game design! The card game mechanics are really well thought out, and the ability to earn and equip new cards as armor/weapons is such a smart idea. Would love to play more of this in a post-jam version!
Amazing graphics and plays like a finished game. Amazing job! π€©π€©
Absolutely gorgeous, really enjoyed the game. It felt nicely balanced and I liked how I wasn't completely locked to the class I chose in the beginning. Also the last boss took me a while to beat .
Can't believe this game was made in just 3 days! I got completely hooked. Awesome game, and gook job!
WTF this art ! <3 I love it ! Amazing graphics and gameplay !
Go test this game everyone
You absolutely have to improve your game! I want to see it in my steam library <3 Good job team <3
Geniuelny amazing game! I only started missing forfeit button and speed up function because I was playing so much!)
Hi from [the fediverse](https://c.im/@Spitko/111168660997964380)!
Amazing game all around! Reminds me a lot of the early game of [Slay the Spire](https://store.steampowered.com/app/646570/Slay_the_Spire/), but with cyberframes instead of slimes!
A few things that I think would've been really useful are:
- a surrender option for those fights you stand no chance of winning (maybe with it not rewarding a new frame piece if not enough turns have passed) - a few extra card animations, as while the current one with the card detaching and launching towards the enemy is beautiful, it gets a bit boring after a few fights - a fast forward option for animations, for the same reason as above (just like Fast Mode in Slay the Spire!)
Anyways, well done!
Fun game! My biggest gripe is that there are *too many fights*. For the mechanics given, after the 4th level, everything just felt representative.
Absolutely stunning art all around. Obviously the character look great, but I'm more impressed by the amount/quality of the UI design. Without that, especially in a card game, the game would have not come together as well without it. I understand you guys didn't make the audio, but I will commend you for your choice of audio since it ties so well to the art direction of the game. Gameplay wise, this shit is addicting, but I do wish I had more options in the beginning. I enjoy receiving new cards after every game, however I think giving the player some options for those first few fights would help the game/turns feel repetitive. Maybe having the player stick with the default deck for the first fight then after that giving them a gift of 5 parts, so they have more options for the next few fights. This would give so many more options to choose from. Overall, this game is an incredible achievement for a weekend jam, and an incredible simple, yet engaging gameplay loop. I highly encourage y'all to continue development, adding some more parts and enemies and putting this on Steam. It's that good.
This game is so good!!! Definitely my most played ld 54 game so far. Super impressed you all managed to make this in 3 days. I would love to see an expanded version!
Excellent game! Incredible art with a very unique system involving discarding cards from your hand rather than drawing new ones. Cool emergent combos which is very impressive for a jam game. Nice work!!
Example of a great work by true masters of game jams :) thanks!
Incredible! Excellent gameplay, great art and sense of style, great choice of music, etc. etc. etc.
Feels more like a complete game made for Steam rather than something done in 72 hours β just wow!
P.S. Extremely minor nitpick, but page title (as in "html title") for game says LD53.
this is one of the best looking jam games ive ever seen! :o
first boss: 2 gusto cards
me: three pistol cards and two cards that let me attack with my shield. it being the first round I don't have shield.
god I hate RNG
Holy crap this game was incredibly addictive, I could've played it for hours. Retaliation is incredibly OP haha!
