This was another really fun one! Thanks for the intense 3 days No-Whone xD

This was another really fun one! Thanks for the intense 3 days No-Whone xD
this is so insanely addicting!! i couldve played this for hours, almost disappointed that is has an ending :sob:
This is one of the coolest games I've played so far! I love the twist on something like Vampire Survivors in that you have to actually harvest the enemies by eating them instead of collecting some experience. Great job sticking to the theme and making an insanely juicy game!
This is a very very good game! Art, sound, and everything is amazing!
I found not being able to move while shooting to be a little annoying, but it does make the game more interesting.
This was pretty cool. I like how you built on the concept of those famous survivor games, but the harvesting enemy types makes the game stand out from them. It was also interesting how the player has to decide between shooting and moving, makes it very strategic to manage enemy mobs despite the simple setup. Also, the slime is awesome looking!
OH MY GOSH this is so good!!!!! Feels totally cohesive and finished, super addicting, really challenging at first especially but wow. No complaints here, only praise, fantastic job.
Lovely game! The animations of the slime and sound effects go great together. I like the eating mechanic too.
Although a few times I got a glitch were I was unable to shoot or move which was annoying.
Unbelievable completion! very interesting game. A little stiff when eating, The difficulty mainly comes from it
Great work, some subtle design decisions really help make this game work, like not being able to move while attacking or eating.
@rintheone Ayy thanks! Honestly I felt the same after I encountered the final boss- The end was bittersweet! Thanks for playing, and for the kind words!
@camden-obertop Haha thanks for playing it! no-whone really pulled through all the last-minute crunch (I couldn't do anything if not for his help Q~Q)
@medow Aye for sure! The stop-mechanic takes a little time to get used to, but that only makes the speed/attack speed upgrades so much more satisfying ^~^
@gawain-doell Haha thanks! Yeah, the stop-mechanic really makes it a bit of a resource management, and the upgrades capitalize on allowing for playstyle variation surprisingly well! no-whone really did an amazing job!
@emmy-kidman Eheheh~ Thanks for the kind words! xD
@turtleflyte Haha I think I encountered that too- the glitch overcame the game xD
@tyin Ayy thanks for playing! It is difficult in the beginning for sure- while the balance is pretty good, sometimes upgrade rng make eating difficult/dangerous to do xD
@nick-sandison Aye thanks for the kind words! The game design/code was all no-whone! Seriously that guy does amazing work, which allows me to do assets without worry haha ^~^
Great game! All the animations and effects (both audio and visual) were awesome, and I really liked all the sprites - especially the title screen! The gameplay was a lot of fun too - I loved the upgrade system, and the upgrades depending on the enemy types you ate were an excellent idea. And the boss fight at he end was a pleasant surprise! The game did become a bit easy once I got the Sharp Fangs+ and Harvest God+, as eating was pretty much instantaneous and usually healed me. Eating in general was actually more interesting to me without the Sharp Fangs upgrade, as it had a high risk-high reward element where you might get attacked while eating which I quite enjoyed. Speaking of which, while the feeding animation was super cool, it did make it a bit hard to see my surroundings while eating. Lastly, were the rabbits actually harmless? I kept expecting them to pull a Monty Python and kill me, but they never seemed to attack. All in all, excellent entry!
@frogman Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed playing it! I only realized this after beating it, but there was an option to toggle the glitch effect! And I was just as surprised as you when I saw the boss at the end- I wasn't sure we had enough time, but no-whone added a bunch of stuff at the last moment, the madlad! Also, that's a good idea for the bunnies, but I doubt we would have been able to add it sadly xD
@pazzi Glad to work with you man! Thank you to you too!
Extremely cute and fun game! Polished, fun and smooth. A bit annoying that you can't move while shooting, so you need to carefully time and adapt your actions.
Great submission!
Fantastic game. The graphics are really polished. I like the starting screen in which you can move camera. The mechanic of being attacked while harvesting is annoying, probably a shorter cooldown time would make the gameplay more enjoyable.
Very fun power ups and cute art as well! I particularly enjoyed the mix and match of different power ups. It adds a lot replayability to it! Made me wish there was more haha Not 100% sure how I personally feel about the movement. Especially without any attack or move speed upgrades, the attack animation lock in made the character feel a bit unresponsive. The character moving in steps also made the final boss's attacks a bit harder to dodge. But these might just be part of the planned challenges! Great work! Love it :D
Love it, addictive gameplay and interesting idea with one action at a time. But the screen shake is way too much.
Really good fun. At first it kind of annoyed me that you can't shoot whilst walking, but after I levelled up the move speed enough it became a non-issue. Art an animations were on point, loved how squishy and tacticle the slime felt. Thought the combat was really good, satisfying from the off, and only got better as the power ups were unlocked.
Really liked the synergy between the power-up that gives your shots a chance to be doubled, and the power-up that lets your bullets move through multiple monsters.
Beat it first time, although the giant red skeleton almost killed me a couple times!
Screenshot from 2023-01-10 18-37-42.png
Certainly one of the most fun entries I've played! I like how the roguelike "formula" combined with the theme. Smart to have the corpses time-out, so that harvesting them for XP is rolled into your risk evaluation when playing. Great stuff!
This was so fun to play!! Loved it
I really liked that all of the upgrades were unique. It made me go back and play it again to see the rest of them.
Really amazing game! The gameplay is great and really satisfying, I love the variety of upgrades, and the animations are so good. I love the effect when you level up :) One thing I think would be nice would be if there were some kind of texture for the terrain around you-- something about having a featureless solid-color background makes it feel strange to move around
Oh this is lovely. The music is an absolute bop, and the artwork is stellar. I recorded myself playing the game for extra feedback. Fantastic work!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1oEOT2vYg4
Could literally play this all day
@t90 Thanks m8! Yeah, the movement does take a little getting used to haha- Thanks for playing our game!
@rich-machines Ayy thanks for playing! Yes that seems to be the most common point that people point out, will definitely keep that in mind- thanks for the feedback!
@mr-sun Fair point, really appreciate the feedback! Thank you for playing our game! ^~^
@ghpxi That's totally understandable! While it is possible to toggle the effects when pausing the game, it was not obvious to me either until after I beat the game haha xD Thank you for playing!
@teddyreid You beat it on your first try! Yes the boss caught me off guard too- I didn't even know about it until my second playthrough I believe xD
@nick-saulnier Thank you! Having an enemy reanimate right before you harvest it can really throw a wrench into gameplay for the unsuspecting player xD
@blurdeblah Heheh, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks! ^~^
@tukisboolukis Ayy thank you! That was all no-whone's idea, I really liked it too!
@maymay Thank you! Aye that's a good idea! We'll definitely remember that for next time! ^~^
@100th-coin Heheh......heheheh... Ahh... So this is what it feels like to watch someone play your game..! Quick! @no-whone ! We gotta join the next available jam today!!!
Jokes aside, I really appreciate you taking the time to make a recording- it really puts into perspective various aspects of the game I overlooked in my own playthrough. It's been very insightful. Thank you! ^~^
@nick-hayashi Aye! Thank you for the kind words! ^~^
I enjoyed this. I like that the upgrades had a cost, and that cost was the corpses of your eaten enemies. The graphics look good, nice and cohesive. Sound works well for the game.
The biggest issue I had was that I didn't seem to have any upgrades that used all the evil bunnies I ate.
@xeke-death Haha thanks! The bunnies were pretty much last minute, and someone earlier mentioned the bunnies having some sort of surprise attack- which is an awesome idea xD
WWWWWW
VERY NICE GAME I COULDNT PUT IT DOWN VERY SATISFYING AND THE BOSS WAS VERY HARD SOOOO GGOOOOOOOD the enemies keep me moving freom one side to the other and when i thought im now unbeatable the RED SKELETON BOSS comes out of nowhere, sooo much fuuuunn wooooow
and the main menu is very cool nice effect kudos great jooob
@socksngames Haha thanks man, I'm glad you enjoyed playing our game! ^ㅅ^
Using enemies as a resource is a cool decision, even if it has not received some deeper development. And the game also became too easy when you pumped up the speed of eating and got a heal for eating - this is just the problem of rewards for levels you are increasing the numbers). Of course, it would be possible to reduce the number of levels or to balance them, but I think the pumping system in this form is still not very good. But in general, the visual style is cool, but it's not clear why there was a level at all in the beginning? For tutorial)? All right, heh). In general, it was cool to see a cool idea.
Crazy fun game. That damn red skeleton!
So many upgrades, so many different enemies! And did I mention that it's crazy fun?
Not to mention the _gnarliest_ eating effect I've ever experienced in a game lmao. Talk about _crunchy!_
@paulsams Ayy thanks for the review! I totally see what you mean! We kinda have a history (mostly no-whone) making games too difficult- so we made a conscious decision to make it easier, for better or for worse xD
@jeffsobel Haha thanks, I'm glad you had fun! Aye, that glitch effect is really fun to watch, though there is an option to turn it off for those who prefer it otherwise ^~^
WOOOW it felt really polished and at first I thought I am getting op because I got so many levels but it also was rather balanced. A lot of fun! I was genuinely mad at myself when I died the first time because I made a mistake and thought to myslef "okay just one more round". Great game!
What an amazing game, i wonder how little you guys slept to achieve this level of polish in just three days. Also reminds me of the great anime "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime" :D I havent played many other entries yet but I'm sure this will be one of my favourites this Jam.
Very good and fun little game! I enjoyed playing it
I love it so much. I would like more ways of being able to heal yourself to keep the run going longer, maybe sacrificing XP or something, but lord I love everything about this lol. Amazing stuff.
EDIT: I did have a bug where I couldn't move after Leveling Up so I just ended up dying. Don't know what caused it
Brilliant game! Kinda sad that it ends though ^^
@cody1712 Aye thanks for playing! Our last game was neigh unbeatable, so we decided to try to make it more balanced this time around xD
@metzkermeister I love that anime! I was a fan even before the anime was announced haha! Funnily enough, I was considering using "That time I got reincarnated as a slime" for something, but decided there was no time haha- and yes, sleep was not our friend xD
@leoteiknar Ayy thank you! Glad you liked it ^~^
@antoniothereis Yess! I did encounter that too! It seems to happen when there are many enemies spawning- thanks for pointing it out!
@kinggurke Thanks for the kind words! Aye the ending is bittersweet haha xD
Such a fun game, the formula works really well. Always a good feeling to keep getting stronger and take on more and more foes!
What is stomping btw? Never figured that one out though I did beat the game in the end.
Very cool game! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with next! The art, audio, and gamefeel all just felt just right. Seemed inspired by 20 min till dawn, which is great bc I love that game lol.
Nice job! Cute pixel art, I love the little slimy fella, the controls were smooth and well implemented and combat felt fair and balanced. I really liked the upgrades you get along the way too, they helped keep it interesting. An enjoyable little game!
@yaen Ayy thanks for playing 'till the end! The stomping ability doesn't proc every step, but has a chance to damage mobs standing next to you as you move around! ^~^
@ghastlymicrowave Thank you! It's an honor to be compared to such an awesome game heheh ^~^
@alex-de-la-cour Ayy thanks! I was surprised too just how good no-whone put everything together ehehe ^~^
Awesome game, guys! I even forgot that I'm playing jam game for a moment. In a good way, of course :D
@mad-rabbit Haha thank m8 xD
Some of the best visuals I have come across so far. Everything is really well put together, style wise. I love seeing a vampire survivor style game in jams :P This was a pretty complete and fleshed out experience, too! Well done!
@langotriel Thank you for playing, and for the kind words! ^~^
Wow, just wow, how did you make this in such a little amount of time!? I have zero complains about this game, the gameplay is great, the music and sounds slaps, the art is really cool, just congrats, 10/10
Easily the best one I've played so far this jam. Everything about it is solid. A standout entry!
@dacs Ehehe thank you for the kind words ^~^
@quinn Thank you, that's very encouraging to hear! ^~^
Very fun and felt very polished. Upgrading the upgrades was very fun and felt really rewarding. Skeletons reviving themselves and being able to harvest bunnies really added a nice touch. The only issue I had was a bug that didn't let me shoot or move which ended a few promising runs. Overall really well done for 3 days!
@machino Thanks for the review! Yes I feel you, I ran across that bug too when playing it myself- it seems to only happen near the end of the run too =___=
Delightful game! Y'all put a TON of great work into this and I had to force myself to stop playing so I could rate more submissions. Adding accessibility options (like removing screen shake/glitch) was such a nice touch and it shows you know what you're doing. And I almost forgot to call out the neat parallax effect on the main menu!
@parker-nalch Thank you, that means so much to hear! I'm glad you were addi- err... really enjoyed the game! ^~^
Super fun and really polished game. Enough variation in enemies and upgrades to keep the player interested, whilst having really great sprites and particle effects!
@renneberg Ayy, thank you! It was super fun to work on haha xD
@yaen By the way, just so you know, your game- "Let The Oink Out" is what introduced me to Ludum Dare, and I just so happened to see this jam and joined with my friend haha xD
It's been a fun game! I like it
@joker15277 Ayy thanks for playing haha ^~^
WOW this game is juicy as all hell. Those shaders are fantastic and the progression system is super fun. Also the music / SFX are fantastic.
Made it to the end. One of the most polished and fun entries I've played. Suuper great work!
@poboy haha thank you! The glitch idea was fun to work around- I’m glad you stuck it out ‘till the boss! xD
Very cute game, it's cool that even with a small number of enemies the game does not feel monotonous. Also art on point.
how the hell did you balance this so well in such a short period of time, insanely impressive, great work!
@nomersol thank you! Even I was surprised- no-whone did a really good job of creating variations of each mob xD
@copito Ayy thanks, I have no idea haha >w<
@pazzi Oh that's so awesome! Glad we got to inspire you <3
Wait wasn't let the oink out for GMTK jam?
Haha wow this a really _juicy_ game! The combination of the sfx and audio coming together feels really solid, along with the feed of constant powerups to make you more powerful as things get slightly more difficult, really well put together!
And the main character sprite is so cute! Good work! :D
@yaen Aye! That video was epic! It left me with goosebumps, as I watched you guys explain the reason and process that went into making it! xD
@profan Haha thank you! It's really no-whone who came up with the idea and feel of the game! It was super fun working on the sprites too ^~^
@pazzi Glad you enjoyed it. I loved the video too. Jonas is just really good at making these haha
I HATE THIS GAME!!! ITS TOO SHOOOORT!!!! I WANT MORE!!!! Im off to play vampire survivors again now... :((((
All seriousness, make it a bit longer, make it so that enemies dont spawn on top of you, spawn a bigger number of enemies, put a price on the game and ill buy it!!! This is easily my top 3 games of the jam no questions asked! DID I STUTTER!
Okay okay now again all serious... Ive finished the game 4 times, and ill do it once or twice more later today when im done going through multiple games.
Make the stomp radius and slime radius bigger, and add extra levels to those upgrades. My third try i gave it my all just killing enemies by stomping them with the death explosion+slime+movement speed max combo... But it really doesnt deal that much damage so i had to resort to shooting in the end. Its a great way to play and it is that uniqueness that it has over Vampire survivor for example. And also its super cute...
To put it simply i love this game and i hope you do some work on it so i can play more, wish the best to you both!
PS sorry for the rambling
This is amazing! The artwork and music are 10/10, and the gameplay feels really solid. Pretty much zero complaints here - except that I wish there was more of it!
I recorded my gameplay experience in this video, your game is at the **20:48** mark: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8TPsLkQIfYE
@kikiriki367 Haha thank you, this was fun to read! Thats a super interesting idea for a different playstyle! I’m gonna have to try that out myself! Given the time constraints this was all we could fit sadly Q-Q
@yaen Ooh it was GMTK! My bad- I got the names confused! I’m so glad we joined this one though xD
@alchemic Ooh, that never came across my mind, but I suppose mapping the harvest to right-click, or even spacebar would be more ergonomic- thanks for the review! It was fun watching your commentary ^~^
@pazzi well I hope you're having a greatly enjoyable ludum dare experience!
@yaen Aye, thank you! (>ㅅ<)b
This was so much fun to play, I had a blast and think I will spend far too much time playing this one.
@caldane Hey, thank you for playing our game! I'm glad you had fun xD
Awesome game! I had a lot of fun with this. The visuals are all great and there are so many upgrades available, it's really impressive! The only thing I didn't really enjoy was the amount of particle effects and screen shake might've been too excessive. It'd be nice if you could turn down the intensity of it rather than turning it off all the way. (I'm pretty surprised to be saying that in a game jam, "too many cool particle effects" is not something you'd really expect to see with a 72 hour time limit XD)
@orhu Ooh that's an awesome idea! Thanks for the feedback! xD
Wow this is really fun! the upgrades are interesting and there are tons of them, the big big is hard but satisfying to fight.
Almost want more enemies to fight. Sounds and music are good.
Well Done!
Feels really polished already. The arrow projectiles are a bit hard to follow since they are quite small. Fun game to play!
Love the progression system and was having a lot of fun playing! Was kind of disappointed when I won, I kind of wish it could loop with enemies getting tougher and spawning faster so I could keep playing.
@phillip-scott Thanks! Ikr?! the boss at the end is pretty hard to fight imo too xD
@mysticaldev Thank you! I totally agree with you! It's no problem when it's just one-on-one, but near the end in all the chaos it's much harder to see them! =~=
@zach-hsu Ayy glad you played to the end! Me too! I would have liked to add some more enemies if we had a little more time haha ^~^
This game was quite fun! I'm impressed you got all of this working in just 72 hours! I think the greatest feature is that skeletons get back up if you do not harvest them in time. I also liked the variation in abilities and how they have different tiers once you unlock them. I thought the game was too easy at first, but then the final boss almost killed me. I could not imagine letting it respawn.
@lookleftstudio Holy moly, a respawning boss as a result of waiting too long, would be the biggest back-handed slap a survivor could experience....glorious heheh..... Thanks for playing 'till the end! ^~^
Wow, this was awesome! Very impressive for a jam game! This game is so juicy, with all those particle and shader effects, animations, sounds and funky music.
Even gameplay wise its top-notch! While most games just make you feel frustrated, this is one of those rare games where you, as a player, feel like an unstoppable machine, which is a good thing.
One of my favorites! Thanks for the game!
Very fun! Normally with ludum dare games, I play them once, and don't really feel a need to go back - nothing against any of them, just not a big gamer in general, but this was *very* addicting. Something about the primal human desire to see number go up. My one complaint is, I wish there was an upgrade that let you move and shoot at the same time, maybe at a reduced speed if you want to keep the current balance? Being forced to stop whenever you shot felt a little crummy, though you get powerful enough it's not a huge deal. Great job, really liked this one
Really nice take on the bullet heaven genre. The addition of the harvest theme through needing to manually harvest your enemies works really well and leads to some nice risk reward gameplay with trying to find a good time to collect them before they despawn (as well as an upgrade to lower the effect of that when the player would start getting annoyed at it also was great). Using the enemies as a secondary currency for other upgrades as well was a really nice concept that further complimented the harvesting gameplay. The visuals also felt extremely polished with the glitch effects and particles
@zub Thank you, I'm glad you liked our game! Our last game was unbeatable, so we decided to make one that is possible to beat haha xD
@sciman101 Woah, that's an awesome idea!? That would have been amazing! \(ㅁOㅁ)/
@ategon Ayy thank you! Honestly, no-whone deserves all the credit for the game-design, as he thought that up all on the spot haha! Also, "bullet heaven", I like that >~<
This game is ridiculously satisfying... Being a sound guy myself I appreciate the sound selection here and music. Good graphics effects.
@stone-pacifier Thank you for the kind words! I recently discovered Jummbox, and became obsessed with making little tunes haha! Its very encouraging to see people enjoy it xD
Wow! This game is amazing! I love the music! The art is fantastic. I'm jealous of your glitchy eating effects and awesome animations. But maybe I'm most jealous of your game balance, which feels so good! And new power-ups kept coming that continued to make things scale in a way that felt really good and satisfying. It is so rare to see it balanced so well in a jam game. This feels like a game that's been in balanced through months of iteration and play testing. Amazing work!!!
@the3rdhunter Wow thanks for the feedback! I'm really relieved to see that you thought the balance was suitable... I've been known to make previous games insanely difficult, so this time I guess I tried learning from my mistakes and made them really easy, which turned out to be the right difficulty! Thank you!
I liked the good selection of power ups.
Found the random healing to be pretty unreliable.
i had a lot of fun playing :) its a super nice and cute game, thanks for making it
Love this kind of games expecialy when the are well executed like this one! score 5/5 good job.
@the3rdhunter Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the game! I was surprised by the balance as well haha xD
@chybby thanks for the feedback! The proc rate for the healing! Got it xD
@feliza Thank you! I love cute things, and I'm glad you do too haha ^~^
@senso Ayy that means a lot to us! Thanks for the encouraging words!!
@no-whone To this day, I don't think anyone beat that game except me...? Did I even beat it? I don't remember lol xD
omg i have a lot of fun playing this game! good job!
THIS GAME IS THE GREATEST. I LOVE IT. I LOVE THAT I CAN BUY STUFF WITH DEAD MONSTER BODIES. I only wished that it would've lasted longer so I would've had enough time to summon the Great Rabbit God. Well, maybe next time.
Most complete game so far, grrreat job. Pretty tight gameplay
@seviaru haha thank you! Glad you had fun xD
Wow, super polished gameplay for a jam game! It started out easy but ramped up all of a sudden, but I definitely feel like i had plenty of time to ramp up. Would have appreciated a way to get smoother movement, but everything including, sound, animations, gameplay, performance, seemed really well done!
@minjutin very very interesting, that's pretty creative!
@blockybear Thank you haha ^~^
@nikolaj I'm glad you liked it! Aye, when I played the completed jam game for the first time, the end really caught me off guard! The movement does require some getting used to as well ^~^
Wow, that's a very compelling game.
I was overwhelmed by skeletons on my first run, but figured out what cards are good and got pretty overpowered on my second run fairly quickly and had a lot of fun.
At some point I was expecting a boss or an enemy that I just wouldn't be able to kill by design. So the big red guy was expected. Good game design!
I really liked the sound, animations and responsiveness of controls. Game actually feels polished, it even has a tutorial section. Impressive, very nice!
@nicekot Thanks for the review! Aye, No-Whone did a great job with the balancing of the game's mechanics xD
@minjutin @frogman Thanks for the awesome idea! I'm probably not gonna work on it anymore, but here's a lil fan-art as thanks haha ^~^
buni.PNG
That's an awesome entry!!! loved the mechanic and the risk-reward aspect of eating the corpses. Really fun to play, very responsive and the gamefeel is very good! Awesome work!
would appreciate if you could play my entry as well, would love your input!
@pedro-d-almeida Ayy thanks for playing- and for the review! Sure I'll play your game xD
@pazzi THE RABBIT GOD is absolutely the greatest! Now my soul can rest in peace
@minjutin He is Bob, and he wants you to leave his friends alone xD
Great game, really nice difficulty curve! I love that you have to attack yourself not like Vampire Survivors etc
Sometimes some shadows spawned that didn't move, but I seemingly could attack and collided with. Bug or feature?
@skosnowich Aye that was a bug! We actually posted a fixed version on itch.io (the link is in the description above)
@skosnowich Haha, it was actually a bug, but when I watched some people's gameplay of it, they seemed to like seeing that they were able to kill these "invisible" enemies... So I didn't actually fix them but they were actually supposed to be ranged skeletons.
Damn an entire roguelike game in one game jam. Super impressive I can barely manage to make one at all.
This is incredibly polished, you could tell me this was a game I could buy on Steam and I'd believe you! I think we've found another contender for the jam! This is really good! I'm not sure I enjoy having to loot every corpse (and having to remain still and vulnerable while I do it). The glitch effects are really cool too!
@no-whone What!? That's so cool! Why didn't you tell me!?!?
@rargrave Ayy thanks! We destroyed our sleep schedule xD
@tweekstudios Thank you for playing, and for the feedback! Aye it is pretty brutal especially in the earlier stages without the max eating upgrade! xD
Probably the most fun I've had this game jam with a game. Amazing polish. Very nice gameplay. Movement without the upgrades seems chunky but gets better in the end. Really good.
@rjerez192 I'm glad you had fun playing, thanks for the encouraging feedback! ^~^
Slime survivor! intense yet easy game ! I was caught off guard literally when slime was attacked while harvesting, I thought slime were invincible. But since levelling up is quick in this game, I could fasten harvesting process making it safer and easier to survive. I wish the level up were quicker but it's okay.
@bloodbane Ayy thanks! Yes! Leveling is the lifeblood! It feels more intense especially if you don't have the max eating speed - eating could mean death xD
Thanks for adding an end. Otherwise I'd have played that forever. The quick upgrade pacing is ooo much fun and this is such a good execution of a proven concept. Superb in all areas! Having an upgrade that allows you to move while shooting <3
This game was excellent! Incredibly fun and visually appealing. The upgrades were well chosen. The need to choose between harvesting or shooting / moving felt like a great risk / reward. Kudos!
Great one mate! 5/5
resim_2023-01-21_040353446.png
This is a very fun little roguelite shooter! The polish and juice is off the charts. Every effect is very well done, from the animated arrows over dead enemies, to the level-up wings, to the fantastic harvesting. I found the stop-and-shoot jarring at first, but I actually kind of enjoy it now as an early game limitation. Would be cool to get an upgrade later that lets you shoot on the move.
The harvesting mechanic is cool and definitely adds some good challenge and tension to a fight, since you're rarely sure if it's safe to stop and harvest for a bit. I really like that the enemy bodies fade out over time, so your harvesting window is pretty limited and you need to prioritize which ones are safe to harvest and (presumably) which ones will give you the most soul/xp. Many of the upgrades synergize well, and it's fun to try a different type of spec on your next run. Excellent work on making a really fun, complete, satisfying game!
score56.PNG
Great game! I was quickly overwhelmed by enemies but I enjoyed the progression a lot. It was difficult to run from the enemies, so I mostly upgraded the movement speed. The effects were well done.
Ayy thanks @kr0k ! Thanks for the generous compliment ^~^
@mharring Thank you! Aye, especially if you get slightly worse rng, the slow harvesting speed is a real run killer xD
@hayricakir nice! I wish we had a global scoreboard- with so many people playing, it would have been fun to see Q~Q
@chompdev Thank you! Aye all credits for the juice/fx/gamedesign go to (no-whone)- he's insane! Also that shooting on the move upgrade would have been cool/useful for a hidden/bunny-boss if we had an extra day or two for the jam xDxD
Pretty fun, a upgrade concept a bit overdone, lacs some minor polish but fun overall. I don't particularly like you not being able to move while you shoot, but I guess it's a gameplay choice.
What a phenomenal entry! Incredible amount of polish for a complete experience that was fun to play. I liked the little things like how the skeletons would come back to life, and the screenshake really added to the polish (I think it may be a bit strong, but tweaking can come later). The amount of different upgrades was pretty impressive too! The art and music made for a great atmosphere. I managed to make it to level 20. Keep on making games
best vampire like i've seen in a while
Fun game! I could easily spent too long playing this.
Cool game, I love thee pixel art and the effects. I felt like I could reach sufficient damage pretty quickly tho' and then the only issue was to absorbe the corps with the enemies around. I also felt like the healing (both on hit and on absorption) didn't work but maybe they were just really low. Anyway this was fun to play congratulation :) game.PNG
@frozenfire92 Thank you! I must now return the favour to Pazzi for making the incredible music and art to create that atmosphere! We sure will continue making games!
@simeon-radivoev @dimesto52 @919113 Thanks for your guys' feedback! Much appreciated!
@dekajoo Thanks! The healing was quite rare yes, and they don't really have any feedback when you get healed other than your health bar increasing slightly... So yeah, it definitely may seem like it does nothing  Anyway thanks for playing!
Wow this is so well made, loving everything. Cannot find any major problems and/or obvious suggestions where to improve.
I would say this is steam-ready game, if you added some roguelite persistent upgrades from total playtime achievements. For example: * killing `x` archers - 5% change to ignore projectile damage. * eating `y` rabbits - you start with first speed upgrade.
Ok, fine, maybe you should also add leaderboard scores and bigger variety of bosses :joy:
@bloodycoin that makes it sound way more fun- thanks for playing! XD
Congrats on first place in the fun category!
Thank you so much! This was an awesome learning experience!
I'll definitely steal your scoreboard idea if I get the chance next time xD
Hey, congrats on the #1 in fun! I beat the game on second try after I put some points on the faster eating. This really was a fun game. Well done :)
@m2tias Ayy thank you! I appreciate you attempting it again even after the event finished haha ^~^
