coolest game i played until know polished fun and feels good once you win a round, dope!
5 star entry. Really good. Bits of feedback- detect whether the player is using WASD or arrow keys, since I thought I had to move my hand to the arrow keys to play. Also, couldn't figure out the rule for when I jumped on my broom. Was it when I approached the edge, and if so, why did I hop off after a few seconds? Movement felt sluggish without it. The visuals were great, loved the atmospheric tree rustling and music and all. Good job!
Pretty fun concept, this needs to be developed further.

Very cool game!! The fourth battle took me a looong time to finish but overall it was a nice experience!
This has to be my favorite game so far. As a Paper Mario fan, you have no idea how happy this makes me.
The game, character design and animations are beautiful.
The battle system is actually really fun and engaging, I like the combination of turn-based + bullet hell + shmup + DDR. You're mixing and matching a lot of mechanics at once but it all works together really well.
The sound design is really good also. And I really liked the battle theme, it's well composed and catchy. I do think it would sound even more amazing if you got your hands on better sounding samples, even a decent soundfont would do.
I would encourage you to turn this into a full game, or at leash a post jam version.

Cool game, that's a cute little character you got here, very good graphics, new powerful attacks are fun. it's kinda weird that you can fly even though you have nowhere to, but I didn't complete the game, so I don't know. I think the game lacks enemy variety, but overall it's a really good entry
This is the most interested ive been in someone else's game from this ludum dare so far, obviously the game lacks variety but it is an extremely enjoyable concept id love to see taken further
Edit: something id love to see is more spell variety and ability, I got through 6 levels of the game using only the highest level damage spell I had unlocked, it be nice to see different attacks (maybe with different damage types) with varying speeds, timers, projectiles, and damage. also an upgrade system for each spell would be cool

Absolutely amazing game - absolutely should win atleast one category. amazing art, incredibly fun, great use of the theme, and quite innovative. this game is incredibly fun to play, and although its got major balancing issues (enemy health!!) its still the best game I've played in the jam.
Absolutely amazing! Paper mario + touhou project. Love it! To bad my rhythm is trash, so I can't get those perfect attacks constantly, but its incredible that this was made in 72 h. :thumbsup:

Nice. Interesting take on final fantasy, ddr, touhou. Graphics were nice and fit together. For bullet hell parts (dodge) maybe make characters smaller to give more freedom to move. Other thing was key bindings. If you could use space to select actions you would have both hands in better place. First I chose attack spell with enter and had to move my hand quickly to arrow keys to execute it. then using two hands it was little bit easier but for better hand position I would have preferred to make selections with space.
@denvil You can use WASD instead of the arrows to cast the attacks!
Loved it, so many different styles combined together and they fit. Very impressive work, amazing art and sound design. Wish it was longer haha
very fun and intertaining system, i see a lot of potential. + being able to fly from island to island a really cute detail, i like it
Graphics are really nice looking. The battle system in itself is actually pretty fun, but the enemies get ridiculously bullet-spongy and it stops being fun because of that (the battles are still really easy, they are just WAY too long). Really wanted to finish the game, but dropped it after seeing the 5th fight- which is a shame because the core concept and presentation are great! still impressive stuff for a game jam, and I believe it could definitely be developed further into something cool

I couldn't get any HTML5 games to work properly on my computer for some reason. This game was so laggy that it was unplayable.
Now I got to another computer to try it and it worked perfectly and I'm sad I couldn't review it when there was still time to do it. I recommend to make a downloadable build too next time if possible.
I played couple of runs through some levels before stopping. Got attack 3.
Anyways, I liked the mechanics where you gather firepower and then get to play with it. It was satisfying to get 4 better attack kitties in same phase. Graphics were also very nice :). The game would have benefitted from different kinds of attacks, maybe one kittie would freeze the enemy and another do massive damage on frozen enemy etc. so you could combo through the tougher enemies.
Was there possibility to win or was the game endless?

@tomssuli thank you! the game was endless. First time doing RPG so I had a hard time putting everything together in time haha!
@narudgi I think the jam rules said somewhere that you can do conversion to different platform after the actual 72 hours... But I don't seem to find that rule at the moment.
