This is the most interested ive been in someone else's game from this ludum dare so far, obviously the game lacks variety but it is an extremely enjoyable concept id love to see taken further

Edit: something id love to see is more spell variety and ability, I got through 6 levels of the game using only the highest level damage spell I had unlocked, it be nice to see different attacks (maybe with different damage types) with varying speeds, timers, projectiles, and damage. also an upgrade system for each spell would be cool

it's a really cute little game I wish the parrots controls were a little more natural making it just the captain you have to worry about but I love the idea and execution of this game, the ludum dare site did something strange with the screen so I couldnt fully see the timer, also the music didn't start until about 20 seconds in but otherwise I had funnn

I enjoyed this so much!!! I really hope you come back to work on it after the jam because I would love to see this with some more time put into it something where I could sink a few hours maybe? anyways I loved the art and sound design and cant wait to see what you do next!

I love this concept and it feels great! very simple but not in a bad way, the art style is great too! I don't really have any constructive criticisms because I don't really have any critiques! some more content could be fun, maybe pickups or several main characters to choose from? (although I love the mushroom)

This game is super cuteeeee! because the sprites are just colored differently sometimes I lose it in the chaos if only for a moment, also the tongue attack could have a bit of a larger hitbox, but I really enjoyed this, it feels like a little minigame in a good way I enjoy how short it is (maybe im just bad :sweat_smile:) I hope to see what yall make in the future

@pete-thorne thank you so much! in answer to how we come up with the zaniness, we started with a cute little idea about @thementalsheep's dog and my art started getting a bit darker and darker as we went along and we just went along with it enjoying the contrast

About the platforms they're on our list of things to hopefully fix after the rating period has ended it just came down to time and we worked right up until the buzzer.

@alex-de-la-cour Thanks so much, I've done a bunch of still pixel art but this is the first time I tried my hand at making animations and I'm really happy with how it turned out, @thementalsheep did tear up when I showed her my animation of her dog dying the first time :sweat_smile:

Its a good use of the theme and fun to play, the map borders got a little buggy on me and I fell out once or twice tho :l, otherwise I enjoyed it!

I love the concept, the art was cute too especially the background! It'd be nice to have a win/lose state like an "end of the night" (if there is one and i didnt get to it sorry but i just sat around and let the heavy metal play while letting people in for like 5 minutess)

the game has a good vibe, like if I had a nightmare about a video game I had when I was little, it might be nice to have some more general upgrades or a variety of pickups, but otherwise good game

I love the graphics and its one of the few ive played so far this year that feel polished. Maybe im just bad at this genre of game but even on easy I struggle a bit, if you wanted to make it a bit easier maybe each part you pick up could then become a "health" and the next agent to attack you will steal it back and try to run offscreen. anyways y'all did a great job on this!

Great game! its also like the perfect length for what the content is, I don't really have any criticisms beyond that the web version seems to be broken, maybe some more intricate visuals or bad endings when you fail to hit the button? but those definitely aren't needed, I had fun; hope to see what you make next!

THIS IS SO GOOD, the animation and controls are super clean, and its a great use of the theme. My favorite thing about this is the little star animation in the windows it looks so good, I'm excited to see what you make next!

I love the concept so much but i wish it wasn't so frustrating, the jumping feels a tad bit unnatural and I see what other people say about the FOV, it might help the player feel exactly where they are on each piece, the other thing I felt could change is that beginning audio queue- it felt like it was taunting me after the 40th time!! otherwise it was really good

just as addictive as vampire survivors itself, I got sucked into it for longer than I meant too. I wish the starting laser was easier to aim or maybe letting the player choose which weapon to start with. otherwise great game!
