I like this, i think my 1 complaints is that the goblin items kinda cover the game play area and you need it open all the time.
Also what are the letters for? Just to delay you?

I like this, i think my 1 complaints is that the goblin items kinda cover the game play area and you need it open all the time.
Also what are the letters for? Just to delay you?
@wolfier Hey, thanks for playing!
You can use 1-5 keys to quickly select the items you need! Letters/enveloped have a chance to give you money, which makes the goblin 1 stage happier when given to him (allowing you to extend the gameplay!)
Hotkeys!
@wolfier Yes! Maybe I need to make it clearer that they exist?
Ya they aren't mentioned in the game, and i read right over them in the when i got to this page. i should actually spend time looking at things.
Very Cute! I loved the little "yays" and the fact you could mail your hat. I did feel like sometimes the "bonking" was more forgiving than I expected, but overall played well with adorable art and music! I did find a bug if you play again after submitting a high score the Goblin is already mad and there are two hats :/
Edit! Wow and a high score table! Neat!
@wolfier My bad, I've made it a little clearer now!
@nerdyherbivore I'm glad you enjoyed! It was suggested to me that the bonking was too hard (no delay) so I added a 2 second delay between when he can take a hit. I hope it isn't TOO easy now!
Just uploading a patch to fix a bug! When you retried after playing once already, your started with -600 score for some reason!
Really solid, loved the art style and the gameplay is fun! The controls are a bit awkward at the moment, that's the only complaint I have. Really great!
This was great! I love the art / style / general vibe and the gameplay is fun - it's a little hard on a trackpad but I'm excited to give it another go with a proper mouse.
@torculus It's easier by using 1-5 as shortcut keys! Maybe I should just be done with the clipboard idea, it's just clunky! But yes, thank you! <3
@eieio Wow I didn't consider that people could be using trackpads! I'm glad you still enjoyed it though!
Really good and polished game! It gets a little crammed with stuff and becomes hard to keep stuff from hitting the guy, and the menu of fake objects covers the playing area where the objects sit. (That's why hotkeys exist I guess, but you shouldn't have to depend on hotkeys.) But everything else is really good! With a few minor adjustments this game would be perfect.
AND high scores. Wow.
Loved the artstyle and concept. I couldn't figure out what to do with the letters once I opened them but all the other items matched the substitutes well.
I love this. Extremely cute and the sound effects are incredible.
Great art and fun, polished presentation! My one complaint is that it requires a good bit of memorization--you can't have the menu and the game open at once, and that means having to memorize which numbers correspond to which shapes. It would have been a far, far better experience for me if the item options were in a bar below the game screen rather than something I had to toggle intrusively open.
Still, a very professional-looking and amusing game! Great work!
@waysneighborgo2 I'm so glad you found the hotkeys! I added them after I didn't like how the clipboard took up so much of the screen. I really ought to have removed the clipboard entirely. Sorry! What adjustments would you make?
And yes, I was so proud to get a highscore board working. Thank you!
@mlists Thank you! Yeah the extra parcels weren't a good idea eh?
@agameortwo Thank yoooou! I foleyed most of them myself! <3
@breadstick Yeah sorry about that, at one point in development I had them in a bar at the bottom, but I felt like too much of the screen was taken up by the HUD, so I made it togglable. Maybe not the best idea in hindsight!
Thank you so, so much! <3
Really innovative gameplay concept that I haven't seen before :)
The small details (packages bouncing off the spring, bobbing head of the goblin, being able to remove the hat) add a lot of polish.
I wasn't totally sure what to do with the envelopes.
@poboy You're not the first to be unsure about the envelops. They have a chance to give you money and money gives goblin + 1 stage of happiness (which means 1 extra life basically!) I tried to put some instructions in the game too!
What an excellent and fun game! I seriously played for about 20 minutes, the loop was just so satisfying! The action was very frenetic, the music was perfect, I loved the little sound effect when you give the goblin a gift, and the details around opening mail and being able to ship his hat (and the clipboard in the tutorial). I think I found a broken strategy though... the bonks may be a bit too forgiving. :sweat_smile: Have a look at the screenshot below, and you'll see how I managed to get 25,000. 🤣 ld53-lol.png
@bloodyaugust Wow what a mess! Did you really play for 20mins? How on earth did you get such a high score, and also exactly 25000?! I'm glad you found it so fun a to play for so long! <3 The bonks were too hard (no cooldown period) so I added a 1 second cooldown. Yeah perhaps it's a little too forgiving now!
@weirdbitgames I "constructed" a little hut of packages that prevented my goblin from being touched! 🤣 I'll be honest though, I called it a day and called the endpoint for the highscore endpoint directly from the browser, my actual score was a little higher than that. 😜
@bloodyaugust hehe that's cheating! I'll put your score as the amount in the screenshot though, if that's okay?
You do you. :)
Awesome game! Really fun to play and the goblin is just cute!
I love games that can get this chaotic
I like this wooden ps controller
Captura de Tela 2023-05-02 às 10.50.02.png
@velvetlobster Thank you!
@xschaumix) He thinks you're cute too!
Fun and addictive gameplay, really cool to see a game jam game with a global high score board too. Very nice!
@matthewdrake Yeeeah! I like to try and add things you don't see too often in game jams. Last Ludum Dare my game had character customisations for example!
The game for me is a really nice arcade to play! I love how letters works when u put them under the button XD.
I thought this game was great and pretty unique. It was so hard to not hit the poor guy in the head. He hated me by the end of it :(
so hard, but this process is beatuful, thx for game!
@colle99 the spring physics isn't a bug.. it's a feature? Hehe
@cole-hutson nooo he still loves you! <3
@tvorojok I hear it's too easy and then I hear it's too hard. Which is it? Hehe!
Super fun game - once I figured out the hotkeys, I got into a pretty good rhythm
Glad to see another game with a leaderboard, I think it adds a lot (although I understand why most people don't do it lol)
I will say the click zones felt a bit small around some objects, and "catching" them rolling down the conveyor felt VERY difficult sometimes. The piggy banks also kept getting stuck on the conveyor - not sure if that's intentional
@bobbie Ah ha thank you, I'm glad you had fun! I didn't really intend for them to be grabbed while they're moving actually.. but noted, if I make a post-jam version, bigger hitboxes! And yeah, I think the clipboard needs to go and JUST have hotkeys. I only made the change to hotkeys at the last moment y'see! The piggy banks kept getting stuck? I can look into it, thanks for letting me know!
Really nice game! Took a while to fully figure out but I had fun.
@madelaine21 Thank you! Sorry about that, I put in tutorials and instructions, but I need to do better, sorry! <3
@weirdbitgames gave it another try with a mouse instead of a trackpad - can confirm that the game's a little easier that way lol (although honestly the trackpad challenge was pretty fun). Made it to #2 on your leaderboard but idk how the top person has so many points!
Anyway v fun game, I'd play a post-jam version if you made one.
@eieio Congrats! I think they exploited a bug with either the piggybanks or the controllers hitboxes. I think they created a barrier over the goblin so he was effectively invicible and then just kept the game running until they got bored? I hope it isn't too easy to replicate! Thank you so much for giving it a 2nd try too!
Pretty nice game, fun to play. A little bit difficult to undurstant at first but cool game anyway. Nice job :smile:
Games feels really fun. I think I might have broke it though as I found it hard to end the game as my time kept going up but I wasn't doing anything! But maybe I'm just that addicted to it!
Super fun! Loved the chaos of trying to get everything repackaged and sent out while new packages constantly rained down.
@flying-butter-studio I hear that it's too easy or too hard hehe. I guess getting the balance right is hard!
@lascif I'm glad you like it! The score goes up by 1 point per second naturually. How did you break it? What was happening?
@greenrose7 Yay I'm glad you enjoyed!!
@weirdbitgames gob.png My timer is infinitely going up 1 per second even afk.
@lascif Wow that IS impressive! Are you ONLY getting sent letters also too?
Had a lot of fun with this one, well done!
@omrilahav Thank you, and I'm glad you enjoyed! Did you make it onto the scoreboard?
@weirdbitgames I'm not sure what I did, but I opened all the parcels as quick as possible and gave it to the Goblin and then eventually it ran out of parcels and it's only letters being sent now? Not sure what I did to cause that to happen 😅
@weirdbitgames That IS so strange. I'll make a note of that! It might because the stage number has gone beyond 9 (each background colour indicates the stage you're on) and I forgot to give it what parcels it should be sending after level 9!
Great game! fun to play, intuitive, getting chaotic pretty fast, overall very good execution! I enjoyed it :)
@bmanstudio Yay, thank you! How did you score?
This game is so CUTE! I love it... The music, the art and most importantly the goblin are all so cute and adds onto the mood of the game! The little yays of the goblin is also so cute! And my wow, you added an online leaderboard? that's amazing, man... honestly, this was really fun to play like for real. I played for real, legit, fair and square, obviously there were no exploits involved in the process of getting my 19000+ score... could've gone for longer but my finger gets tired.. so yeah.. Flex.PNG here's uhh... I don't put it in the leaderboard so that people don't get discouraged :grin: and this one's a different exploit (I think) from the other guy.
Anyway, for the actual gameplay, it was great! It's unique, and I do agree that the clipboard does get in the way, but hotkeys did solve the problem. If you don't want hotkeys, maybe you can put it to the side where it doesn't disrupt the player's screen. Also, I feel that having to click to grab then click again to release was kinda unintuitive, perhaps make it so that I can just click and drag? Other than that... Amazing game, love it! Great Job!
@no-whone Wow such an amazing feedback (and thank you for the screenshot!)
So your 19k was legit? What bugs and exploits did you discover?
Edit: You only gave 2 gifts?!
I love the art style of this game :) Idea is funny and it fits to theme. I like sound effects of goblin postman :) Nice job
изображение_2023-05-02_220141605.png
This is the first game that get all fives from me omg. It's so fun and addictive and the only problem is that my browser doesn't like it when I smash my RMB so much. Im in love with graphic, sound design, humor, gosh, even that little spring that yeet away "gifts" is so much fun 10/10. Good job!
@weirdbitgames my 19k was using the exploit of course, my legit one got like 2000 or something since it got so chaotic... as for the exploit, if you don't mind getting your game ruined, then I can tell it to you I guess... basically I just opened at least 1 gift, and 1 money. The thing is, if you rapidly click your gift while the goblin is doing that yay thing and holding the gift above his head, you could infinitely gain points and gaining that item back again. Essentially just spamming the mouse on the goblin.
@no-whone I think I understand, I'll try and replicate and fix that, thank you for letting me know how you did it!
(Or I could leave it in but I believe that kind of fix is allowed?)
@makuck95 Thank you!! I really appreciate it!
@weirdbitgames Yup! Mild bug fixes are allowed as far as I know.
@kid04 Thank you so much, that is an amazing rating! <3 I'm glad you had so much fun!
Great art style! Really fun!
So humm, I think i kinda broke the game, it never stopped and parcels did not appear anymore.
Capture d’écran 2023-05-02 214355.png
Anyway, that was such a cute game ! The graphics are charming and the little "Yay!" the goblin make are really cute.
@obe-dot thank yoooou!
@reo-silmetal ah thank you for letting me know.. I'll look into fixing it!
I think I patched the "only letters" bug, let me know? @reo-silmetal
I think I've patched the "infinite yays" bug, maybe test it? @kid04
I also think I've patched the bug August used!
Should I remove the 16k and 19k scores? Then again who's to say if people scoring 6k or 7k did it legit or not? Hmm :S
Really solid, loved the art style and the gameplay is fun! :smile: What an excellent entry, I really enjoyed it!
@nivbeth Thank you! How well did you score?
I really love the art style, and the main Gob character is super cute! The physics were fun to play around with too!
Good game! I loved the art style, it reminds me a lot of Rhythm Heaven. 😆
What a fun game! I had an issue where anytime anything was held in front of the goblin it counted as a bonk on the head. But the graphics and design are wonderful. I want to get more into the physics of it, but with my error, I was losing too fast. Congrats!
@bokonon Yeah I thought so too! A couple people told me the spring physics were broken.. nope, they're working as intended hehe!
@stevie257 Ooo I'll look it up, thank you!
@hwaet Really? I've never found that, and I've tested it a few times too. I'll double-check it! Thank you!
@hwaet You are correct, drats I must've botched something when I was patching it! I've fixed it now I believe. Sorry about that!
Dang what an original concept. I love the idea. And once I got the hang of the different shapes it was really fun!
@unitoftime Awesome I'm glad! I'm sorry it maybe wasn't as straight-forward as I intended!
The game's controls are very smooth and responsive, making it even more comfortable to play. I had a great time playing this game and can't wait to play it again.
@georgy Thank you so much for such a lovely review!
The game is awesome ! I love the concept, unwraping stuff is so satisfying and the mood is really catchy ! Really good job, was really fun to play
@pacha I'm so glad you had fun, I really am!
This is a really fun game! :D I like the complexity for multiple item types, and keeping the goblin safe in the meantime. It was pretty hard at first but I got used to it. I love the cute graphics and the music is very fitting as well. Good job, this is a very good entry! :)
@remus I'm really happy you had a great time! Yeah sorry if it was a little too tricky!
I love the "goblin stealing packages" concept! Controls and easy and the game is fun. Love the little "yay!" whenever you open a package. Good job!
@michael-harris "Yay" I'm so glad you and a lot of other people really dig the concept!
Great aesthetic plus excellent sound design and music. Cool interpretation of the theme as well. Nicely done.
This goblin is a little mastermind of evil xD, and I like it made me feel a bit like the Grinch. It is very original, and I'm curious to know how you came up with the idea!
It's kind of hard to give some useful feedback because the game is pretty solid, I can say that post jam you could make some levels similar to the tutorial where you "have to" deliver a certain number of specific parcels?
@iacopo ah okay that makes sense, more objective based. I wanted the jam version to be more open since I was probably only going to have 1 level. Thank you for the useful feedback!
I felt so bad for making him sad, that I was happy to steal peoples stuff! Great Game!
Great game and a good take on the theme, the art style and sounds are amazing! The game was a lot more fun once I got the hang of using the number keys; the menu was a little annoying to use as I kept picking up things that were behind it. Also, if there's an unwrapped present behind the menu, anything you select immediately goes into it. Overall, the game was really fun and I hope you keep working on it!
@josephgallear Yeah sorry about the clipboard menu, I decided to go with number keys but ran out of time to be able to remove the clipboard feature! I'm glad you enjoyed it though!
Really coool and fun game!!
that was really fun to play, even if i got crammed under packages so fast!! art looks nice, i love the many sounds and animations, great work on the polishing!
@debotheaux Thank you!
@amarokczukay I'm just glad I completed a game! Thank you so much for the kind comments <3
Such a cute game, the visuals are lovely and the sounds are adorable :smile:
Took me a little while to get used to the controls as I kept on trying to click and drag on the parcels rather than clicking once to pick up and once to put down, but once I got over that it felt very satisfying! Having the quick access to the replacement "gifts" is a nice way to increase the skill ceiling by rewarding the player for memorizing which is which.
I had a lot of fun playing, great job!
@benskca Thank you!! I'm glad you got the hang of it! If I make a post-jam version, should I consider click-dragging instead? Is that more natural? Again thank you for your kind comments!
@weirdbitgames I'm not sure, since you're also using RMB to open the parcels I'm not sure how it would feel if you had to be holding LMB at the same time but it might be worth a try if you like - I don't think there's anything wrong with clicking twice for what it's worth, it was probably that I'd just made a game where you click and drag physics objects that confused my brain more than anything :smile:
Really like the concept, nice graphics and sounds. The one thing - is a little bit not supper comfortable input. Like it seems to be locked wile the gob recieves the gift. And it hard to hit the letters sometimes. But overall - it's absolely cute, good job.
@benskca Yeah I did want to have velocity for the objects so you could throw them but that feature was on the backburner for this version of the game. It might make more sense to click-drag for that!
@amolker So that was added to prevent you being able to infinitely give Goblin the same gift over and over again. I can look into making it feel less clunky. I just patched it quickly to prevent more cheating! I actually forgot to come back to it to smooth it out! Thanks for reminding me!
@josephgallear @amolker @pacha how did you manage to score so high?! if there's a bug or an exploit I've missed let me know! Or are you all just that amazing at this game? <3
@weirdbitgames I just tried to unpack the packages as soon as possible, and then immediately insert the correct replacement. After that, he sent parcels to the spring, and the "gifts" simply fell on the goblin and usually did not accumulate to the end.
Exploits - perhaps at the end the unopened gifts formed some kind of shelter around the goblin. And for some time this did not allow him to be upset because of the blows with new gifts on the head. But sooner or later, you still lose because of the accumulated parcels that are randomly sent to the spring. gob.png
@weirdbitgames I found that the unopened packages don't seem to do anything when they land on the goblin's head. I just ended up with a huge pile and opened and repackaged them one at a time.
@amolker Ah so your score is basically legit. I don't know if there's much I can do about packages forming a barrier for him. It seems that sometimes they don't boop him and sometimes they make him go "oo", "oo" over and over.
@josephgallear ah thank you, I can double-check but I believe they are programmed to boop the goblin!
@weirdbitgames Yeah I'm not sure, at the start of the game I can definitely reduce his happiness by dropping packages on him, but after a while he gets very surrounded by them and nothing boops him.
interesting game, definitely unique. I think the hit register could be better on the packages, sometimes i had to click a bunch for it to open or pick up. But overall it was a fun game and unexpectedly intense towards the end.
Music was also chill and adequate to the gameplay, well done!
@josephgallear I hope I can figure that out one day hehe! Thank you for your swift replies!
@pedrohpf Oh hmm, I've never had an issue opening packages, thanks for letting me know! Thank you for your comments!
great gameplay and juicy visuals
@agudar Thank you kindly!
I love what you did with the theme! Perfect anti delivery game, yet so, so cozy too! Lovely!
@purrseus Thank yoooou! I like your profile icon too btw!
This game is sooo good! I loved everything about it.
@ron88 Thank you!!
The Highscore board was getting a bit crazy so I've reset it. Here's the legacy highscores for those who earned them though:
legacy scoreboard.png
Jake Marks and WeirdBitGames's GobEx is basically what happens every year when good kids end up getting bad gifts. Yeah goblins are real. I think this game was hilarious and put me in a great mood :) Overall everything seems really detailed and polished which is impressive for a ludum dare submission. I think one area that can be improved on is just a little more consistency with the gui. I felt like at times I was juggling the menu rather than the packages. It wasn't a huge complaint, and maybe it was on purpose :)
Anyway have a great ludum dare and thank you for sharing your game.
@austin-sierra I ran out of time to remove the clipboard from the game, I added hotkeys (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) instead y'see! Thank you so much for such lovely and detailed feedback!
I like how goblin stealing gifts xD
I think you should add interactive tutorial, because it's really hard to find out what is going on, and tutorial text don't help a lot. I need to try things on my own without knowing what it is :)
Art is good, music too. It's very unique game, and gameplay is fun. I like this game, thanks for sharing!
Super innovative game and some great humor. I was launching coal packages left and right. I did get a little confused about what to put inside the packages at first but eventually I got the hang of it. The artwork is great and I liked how the packages hit the goblin on the head.
Super fun little game! Feels polished and well put together, great job!
Game is very cute! Idea is good also i like the arts, nice ld entry.
@sneakyfox There is an interactive tutorial? It's just above "instructions" in the title menu? Goblin takes you through what to do! Thank you for the kind comments!
@russ-moonbase I'm glad you worked it out in the end, I spammed so many tutorials around too hehe!
@stuembi Thank yoooou!
@yusp Thank you so much!
This was fun! The music and the goblin sounds are great, and it's easy to zone out and realize you've been playing for a few minutes on autopilot. It does seem to slow down a bit around 5 minutes in, especially if you're in fullscreen. Other than that, very nice game - the art fits the concept perfectly.
Very cute game. Feels quite polished. Really like all the sounds and audio effect, something that is often somewhat overlooked. Good job
I love how cute and fun this game is! I included it in my Ludum Dare 53 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. https://youtu.be/3W4lG4WsUMw
Great game! I found it pretty tough, but good fun! Love how polished it is!
@chucks-feed-and-seed Oh right I didn't know about the slowdown, thank you for telling me! I didn't really do any optimisation, I can look into it <3
@ben-toosey Thank you, I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
Good job, cute graphics, original idea. Fun little coffee break game. I quite enjoyed it. The clutter is a bit frustrating even if it is the idea. The physic is a bit wonky at times. Overall a success in my opinion!
@chromaticgray Thank you for playing! And yes, all of that was intended hehe!
First of all, great game! Loved the graphics, the mechanics, and the overall vibe. Also, really well done for putting hotkeys. So, I played the first time and it took me a while to understand everything going on. Then I play a second time, now getting the hang of it, and manage a 9799 score. Great, but I want more. So, the third time I opened letters real quickly and set the money aside, so I had a plan b for when my little guy get too sad with packages falling into its had. So far so good, a lot o packages start coming, he start to get sad and I don't know if it was something I did, but he just stopped taking damage? I think I broke the game....sorry....hahaha please forgive the 70k on the leader board. I kept trying to understand what was causing the issue. I don't know if it means something, but the goblin was not getting mad that i didn't give him new things. Also, the only wrong packaging I could do was putting the potatoes inside the ball package, no other combination worked. Anyways, congratulation on the great entry! had a lot of fun playing it
@cabritta Thank you! I'm glad you had a good time playing so many times! There's a bit of a glitch with his hitbox, it comes with the territory of making a game in 3 days heh, sorry about that! 70k? Wow, yeah that's totally my bad! Oh right, all combinations *should* work.. thanks for letting me know! And thank you for such in-depth and detailed feedback!
Fun little game! I really like the art style
such a fun and cute game!!! the art style is amazing!
Thanks for submitting your game to be played on the stream! If you wanted to watch my reaction again here’s the vod timestamped to your game https://youtu.be/0LdDwOAkfzc?t=9210
@camden-obertop Thank you for playing!
@ategon Awesome, thank for recording yourself playing it!!
@projectcolorball thank you! <3
Fun game! I can really see this game being played on mobile devices.
@quabmara Yeah actually thought about releasing a mobile version in the future maybe, great idea!
Nice game with simple graphics.
Well done, tons of fun!
High innovation score here, great idea.
@sergio-nikol Thank you!
@ruruie I'm glad you enjoyed!
@alpacalypse thank you so much!
Very polished game. And the art is really good, I loved it! Good job
Awesome game :o
Quickly become an absolute mess, i loved that ahah Art is gorgeous, sound design funny and the gameplay is neat ! Great job !
The game visuals are very nice and sharp, like them a lot! The music was also cute, and the sound effects kind of worked.
The tutorial, albeit clear, is probably a bit too long and the game seems more complex than it probably should be.
I felt like I was getting thrown too many items right from the start and felt overwhelmed, but the thing is that there was really not much of a challenge in just filling the packages and throwing them out. After like 20-30 seconds of actually playing it (knowing how to play) I was hoping for the goblin to get angry and call it a day.
What I thought is that the object u had to fill the packages with were also coming to you instead of popping by pressing the numbers, maybe that would have been a bit better. Maybe the "create the package" part of the game could be more interesting! I also guess that there was too much going on in the game, u have to avoid the goblin getting hit, you have to unpack, then pack, then deliver the pack, then check the letters, and so on, but nothing felt really important, just a list of things to take care. I mean you can make any game sounds boring this way, but I think in this case it really feels like that, to me of course.
Overall, the game is polished and works well and I really appreciate this, but the game design or at least balance side of the project is its weakest part.
@rodrigo-denubila Thank you!
@thomaslebel Hehe that's the idea, I'm glad you had fun!
@toccio94 oh my gosh, thank you for such a detailed response! True but I had some people who still didn't know what was going on even after the tutorial so I made it a little longer. I think if I had a little more time, the fake presents available would be limited by which presents could possibly turn up, which as you'll notice starts off with just the ball/coal at first. You make a good point, thank you! Like having the items float to your mouse from off-screen? Ooo interesting! Thank you so much! I'll take and work with this feedback! <3
Omg this is the cutest little goblin I’ve ever seen in my entire life! ♥️
@blueanoli Thank you! He thinks you're cute too!
I had a lot of fun playing this game! Quite addictive, trying to get in to the highscores board. I got to 10705. The goblin is cute and the packages and their replacement gifts are funny :smile:
Instruction + tutorial felt a bit double, but it's nice that you included them.
Sometimes I would have the package selected after I filled it with a replacement, and sometimes not. I couldn't find out yet when what happened. This was sometimes a bit frustrating. Maybe it would be nice to highlight the package that the player selected?
Cute art style + nice music + fun gameplay = great entry! :clap:
@papaver I had people who didn't know what to do, so I included both (it may turn out that they just skipped reading things!) The chaos and accidentally packing the wrong item was intentional, but you make a good point! Thank you so much for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed!)
This game was really fun! I got to 9k on my second try, but then I noticed that as it got to be a little too fast for me and let packages hit his head, they stopped making him mad :p
A suggestion is to make the hitbox for the package a little easier to click on when it's above the goblin. It gets difficult when they keep coming fast, if you let one slip through cause you barely missed the hitbox, it starts a slippery slope. The game also hurts my hand after a while, maybe if you make the spring also a 'drag over' instead of needing to click again to let go, it will require fewer clicks.

@francis I'm glad you had fun. Sorry about your hand! Thank you for the feedback <3
One of the top games in this jam! All the different mechanics was a bit confusing at first, but I got the hang of it and had a lot of fun, I even got on the leaderboard :D
@ogelgames Sorry about all of the mechanics! I'm glad you like it, and thank you for the high praise! <3
What a sweet mischievous goblin! I think the tutorial should have had the same setup as the main game. For a while I was confused where the pile of coal was in the real game :D. But eventually I figured it out. I think the game looks and sounds very good and the gameplay itself works fine but the possible strategies are a little shallow. The production values are so good though that it could be like an older actual flash game. Nicely done!
Awesome fun game with great graphics, it really got overwhelming. The only thing I didn't understand is when does the game end? Also found a bug: If I looked at the instructions, I can't open it for a second time.
@bradur Sorry for the confusion! If I had kept the same set up then I'd have had to have 5 piles of trash items and that would get quite a lot I think! Thank you so much! Yeah the gameplay needs a little love <3
@sakii Oh thanks for the bug report. The game ends when the goblin gets unhappy and you submit a highscore, I have a working leader board too!
Cute, endearing, surprisingly hectic and overall well made game. I was surprised how much depth there is to selecting and wrapping gifts, after playing the tutorial I expected to only play with coals, I was hugely surprised when that didn't turn out to be the case. Very well done!
@sodoj Thank you so much! Yeah I tried to add as much to the game as I could, even a highscore board!
Graphics absolutely on point, really nicely polished and adorable! Love the little goblin, love taking his little hat. Very well executed idea overall!
@jhax thank yooooou for the lovely praise!
I played a lot of neopets games as a kid, and this looks exactly like a game I would play there!! the aesthetics really come together and the tutorial is very clear (although it still took me some time to get it). the highscores were also a nice touch (just like neopets games hehe). really cool idea overall :D
@isadora thank you SO MUCH for such lovely feedback and positivity! <3 I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Love it ! So much fun and innovation, it was very funny ! The music is very nice, maybe the only negative point are the Gobelin's "Oops" a little too much present ahah but overall it's very good
@babaorhum thank you! Yeah the oops have been hard to balance, he either does it too much or not often enough hehe. I'm glad you had fun though! <3
I'll say, this game is pretty fun and cute game! I kind off didn't understand what to do at first, because I've seen that the goblin was getting sadder by the time and I almost thought that it was a bug... but that was because I didn't see the tutorial first. But once I got the gist of it, I've lasted more time.
Well done!
@poisonbirb420 Yeah next time I'll try to integrate the tutorial better. I added an extra "instructions" option because people said they didn't know what to do, but I think it was because they weren't doing the tutorial or reading the controls on the page hehe. I'm glad you got there in the end and had a good time! Thank you <3
Very fun and cute little game! One thing I'd recommend would be to have the grabbing be a click and drag system (where letting go of the mouse button drops the item), or maybe have an option for that style.
@corrupt-spaghetti Yes indeed, I think someone else suggested that too! I think if I were to port it over to mobile, it would have to be. Thank you so much! <3
This was really cool and witty, but at the same time really hard! My screen got cluttered really fast lol. I loved the reactions of the goblin and the attention to details, like being able to accidentally send the golbin's hat, and the overall experience. The graphics and music are great and the game is really polished, congrats! I have some feedback :)
- I wish I could clean the screen more somehow... I.E Erase the ripped parcels, etc. Maybe a dumpster somewhere? I'm not sure if sending stuff to get rid of them causes you to lose score or not - Drag and dropping everything was a bit too finicky for me... I'm not sure about this but maybe the lil goblin could pick up presents on their own while I deal with the mess? - The spring was a bit glitchy, sometimes stuff got stuck on it
Great entry!
Awesome game. Please like mine because nobody want to like =( https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/53/fantasy-delivery
@aviv-levy Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed! All of those things were intended pretty much, a messy cluttered screen, the spring being crazy af etc.. At one point it was almost pointless having the goblin character on screen so I gave him more uses like needing to hand him gifts etc.. and at one point he was going to move around and pick up the gifts himself!
@greatvv Thank you! I'll have a looksee!
GobEx is very cute! I love the endearing premise of keeping all of these gifts for yourself and sending nonsense items to everyone. The colorful style, combined with the little "yay" just smacked a smile on my face. There's a lot to like here, from the expressive, devious goblin friend to the fact you can send people teeth and watermelons. I love this! :heart:
Delightful pandemonium! The art's a treat, gameplay's a hoot, and the goblin, cutest ever! Initially daunting with the mechanics, but once you get the hang of it, it's all very fun and games :D
@mavvy Yaaay! Thank you so much for all of the praise! I'm glad you liked my little goblin game! <3
@trexxak yeah sorry I ran out of time to do a more "ease you in" tutorial and had to resort to pictures. I'm glad you had a good time though! <3
Thanks for your submission! I cracked at the physics and interactions I was having with the gifts, plenty of "whooops" and mad goblins, but hopefully no real goblins were hurt.
@debone I hope you had fun at least!
WOW!!! That was chaotic and just a blast to play!!
I really loved the creative take on the concept and it was executed so well. (A postal delivery goblin that steals shit??? omg! :rofl: ) So good.
It did take me a few tries and then finally reading through the tutorial to figure out how to package stuff properly. On first try, I thought the items below were things he wanted. (I also thought the numbers meant how many, not hotkeys).
Everything else felt so tactile. I loved the drag and drop and physics feel to it all. And the way a package looked and sounded when opening. It was very satisfying ripping packages open!
Having to hit (or remember) hotkeys for which items took away from the tactile experience of it all. Maybe clicking those could be buttons? And it drops those items somewhere to grab? Or maybe you just drag from there (as if there are boxes of that stuff, and it puts the item into the mouse drag).
Regardless, I really got into it and played multiple times. The fact you have a high score leaderboard on top of it is crazy!!!! And awesome. I might have to dig back into construct again, because everything felt so polished and nice, and I can't believe how much you packed in here. Such awesome stuff!
As it got more frantic near the end, a few little minor tweaks stood out to me that might make it feel that much better...
I loved how gratifying it was to package a fake item. More satisfying than giving the goblin a thing. And I realized what it was... when you are dragging a fake item and you hover over an empty package that matches, it's instantaneous. You don't have to click again. It just does it. I wish it did the same when dragging an item to the goblin or the spring launcher. That extra click got painful as it got crazier. Having to click an item, drag, then click again over the goblin started to feel a bit cumbersome, and I wanted to just drag it quick and he just takes it and does his little happy thing. :smile: If the spring and the goblin were as instant as packaging an item, this game might end up being too much fun, and then I might not play anything else. LOL
Overall, I had so much fun with this one. It was so frenetic and such a blast. If I could give it 6/5 stars for fun, I would.
@scrapmetal Thank you so much for such a huge review! Yeah I think next time I make a game, I'll try and incorporate the instructions on screen more, rather than have them as something people will (probably?) read before playing the first time!
Oh you're a fellow Construct-er too, hi!! I'm so glad you had such a blast playing it! And yeah the franticness, chaos and screen filling up was intended, mostly hehe. Ah ha yeah, a number of people have said I should've used click-drag instead, this is my first mouse-based game! Thank you so much for the feedback -studiously adds it to his notes- if I make a post-jam version I'll definitely take them into account! <3
This game was freakin' adorable! Love the art style and the sound effects! I legitimately felt bad when I made the goblin sad (he got hit by too many parcels when I played lol)
This is one of the first entries I've played where I don't really have anything to mention that I would change or do different, it was a really solid entry. Good controls, sound, everything seemed responsive as it should. Great work!
Interesting game. At first, I thought it was more drag and drop than click drag and click to drop so I got confused but it was fun.
@julienlussiez yeah a lot of people tried dragging, my bad! Is my first mouse-driven game. I'm glad you had fun though!
@rubixnoob13 It's okay, no goblins were harmed in the making of this game! Thank you so much for such a lovely review, I'm glad you liked it! <3
Nice and unique concept!
The art is so adorable and the music and SFX help a lot to increase your game's mood! (Liked the "Yeah" scream when we deliver a item to goblin)
Took me a while to figure out how to play properly (I thought the game would only use the mouse and didn't notice the hotkeys), but once I managed the game becomes very fun!
Nice that you put a online leaderboard into your game (I didn't get my place in the ranking, these players are too skilled for me :laughing: ).
Overall, a incredible and nicely polished game! Good job!
@joao-marcello Thank you! Yeah people said they didn't know what they were doing so I added more tutorials and controls to the page/this page etc.. Thank you for playing, I'm glad you had fun!
Game cutie. I'm pretty messed up with this type of game, but I had fun. I thought the idea was very good and it is very well executed. My kids will love it!
Congratulations for the game.
@euler-moises Thank you so much! Yeah it's a little tricky at first, sorry!
I really like your little goblin! I've drawn a small comic to express my love for it. I hope this brings you joy.

@yuriscat I think I said this at the time too, but my first ever fan art! Thank you so much!! <3
