wow!!
Sub-50 seconds, I'll take it! iamspeed.png
Anyway, this was awesome! I was all on board from the first line of dialogue followed by the deadpan titlescreen, such a funny concept! I loved going to everyone and telling them everything (especially "I'm the best detective in town!", truly Trivia's attorney badge), most of the times it didn't do much but when it did that was so fun! The wizard puzzle was my favorite, I was honestly unsure but the "Are you all right?" question confirmed it for me, no way that wizard's mental health was good. I also really liked the boat crash and guard look over there scenes, they were perfect. Overall I don't really have any feedback (except that the Speakeasy thing flew over my head cause I associate it with the German language school and am not American but that's no fault of yours), truly amazing game!
Wish we could have a Mac or web build :( I watched the walkthrough and it looks pretty nice! I loved the colors!
That's absolutely great idea with dialog card! And how much vocal lines you have in a game that's awesome! Love the style. And love this challenge with speed run photo_2026-10-19_21-25-40.jpg
I loved this! So funny
I found going back to the mainland after crashing the boat a bit strange though
with captcha i could only use one card and had to reset out and in :) other than that game is fully flushed out it seems. Really refreshing humor. Tank you for experience, enjoyed it
Once again a delightful little detective adventure from Trivia Hart!
The title card mechanic was a lot of fun, even though all of the puzzles were pretty straightforward (except "blind tiger" - I don't think I had ever heard that phrase before!). I love the random weird little characters and some of the gags like the boat crash. The jokes were on-point, especially "Nope, just a detective" and the Captcha text actually being verbatim something a character said.
My one disappointment was that I couldn't respond to "I'm going to get away with it!" with "Yes" to immediately end the game in a loss! The previous game made me think that could actually be a possibility.
I don't give these out lightly, but for such a lovely game you've clearly earned the Funniest Nautical Jump-Cut award!
I mean, wow! I think the credits screen summarizes it well. "So... many.. art assets" 😆
Incredible work, super impressive!
The title cards was such a great take on the theme. And it worked really well as a mechanic. Some of the puzzles, like the captcha, were just hilarious.
It must have been so much work making all that content, but the end result was great. The whole game was smooth to play and very well paced. Beautifully drawn backgrounds!
Here's a little fan art portrait of Trivia
Amazing and funny game, visuals were top notch and many cool and funny ideas! :)
Alright my recording decided to corrupt itself so we're doing this the old-fashioned way.
First things first, obviously the amount of effort required for each of these rooms is astounding. The visuals were incredible, and I really liked the choice of that pinkish-red as the accent color. It was used in really smart ways and really made some of the details pop. The voice lines were really well done, and there was a good variety. I do think in some of the multiperson scenes it would have been nice to have some indication of who's talking since I got mixed up a handful of times.
In terms of puzzle design, I would have liked to see a little bit more variation. The limited number of interactables and title cards makes sense from an effort perspective, and it does help with avoiding getting stuck, but the flow was really just "go here, get card, go there, use card" until the game was over. It was also a little confusing how most NPCs only had the one line of dialogue but then there were a few you had to interact with more than once. The drunk guy was the one place I got stuck because I think I tried to use the second card on him at one point but it wasn't the right time, and I finally came back later and that time it worked. I did appreciate the little marker that showed he was the one I had to interact with when I was stuck though.
All in all, I think the game was really technically sound, and the art and audio assets were particularly clever, but I just wanted a little bit more... game. I know this is just the nature of LD, but I really found myself longing for something more mechanically deep and would have no issue trading some of the cutscenes for more involved gameplay. That being said, it was still a really great end product and I did enjoy my time with it!
To celebrate, I've given you the Alcoholic Drinking Fountain award! That guy should be a little more careful next time. alcoholic-drinking-fountain.png
Another case closed! Probably the first game in all jams where I was grinning from ear to ear.
Awesome dialogues. Only thing, it would be cool to change the pitch of the main character voice, the lines sometimes blend together and you don't immediately understand who is speaking.
Wonderful game, and the amount of work (especially voice recording) is impressive.

Unfortunately I'm pig-headed so I took a little more time than I really should have. I thought after getting the caption from the drunk guy, I didn't think there was anything else you could get from him. Thank you for having the bulb indicator to show that there's still more you can say/ask
I don't really have any qualms with this since it's honestly a really funny and charming little point-and-click. My only issue is that it was a little hard to tell who was talking at some points. I don't mean to throw any shade to your voice acting since it's great. I just felt like the intonation of some characters were a little too similar. That and some of the puzzles devolved a little too much into trial-and-error. None the less, these are just small issues all things considered. The boss theme song was great
All in all, good stuff here
Thoroughly enjoyed this adventure, and loved the premise! There was such a delightful grin I had whenever I realised I could use one of the stills, but particularly when I could *reuse* one. The style was very pretty, very evocative of Obra Dinn on the pier scene but with that splash of pink highlight that gives it its own style. Oh and I love the acapella song. Kinda took me too long to realise it was looping as I was just enjoying it. If I had any qualms, it was that it took me a little while to realise who was speaking at times, especially in the initial doorknob conversation. I think that would get fixed immediately for me if you just did a cheeky bit of panning so that we were always slightly panned left, and the other person slightly panned right. Lovely job as always!

The number of voice lines is crazy impressive, and the silent film titlecards are brilliant.
Aw, I liked the ending! Reminded me of the ending to Dicey Dungeons, for some reason. And the sentimental final blow. I only wish it were longer/harder, but there's only so much we can do in 48 hours...
I didn't know what to expect when I started this, but it had me laughing before I knew it! I loved the experience.
I could tell a lot of care was given to testing it, because you even added a little '!' symbol for the drunk guy when he had something new to say to avoid the player spinning their wheels. Also, poor truth speaking guard. I hope he feels better soon.
I recorded a video with my thoughts again:

My speedrun got completely mogged, no way ;_;
Rewatching it, I lost an INSANE amount of time on needless interactions with the key rooms. ROOKIE mistakes in the Trivia Hart speedrunning community.
But yeah, once again, hilarious game! Pretty much every line had a funny joke in it, it's amazing. That plus the environmental humor, it's really top-notch.
Voice acting is superb as well again, I love the little touches you gave the different characters, each one had their personalities come through in their voices.
Lots of charming effects in the graphics again, everything looks great, the many art assets paid off. I think that's what I didn't mention in the video, but it's also an innovative take on the theme, I haven't seen anything about silent films so far I think, plus turning that into the gameplay mechanic is super neat, that's a great idea. Great game all around!
I watched through your developer commentary / video as you only have a windows build and I cannot play that. Really cool to make a developer commentary. It is a really neat idea to collect silent film dialogue cards and use them in a little adventure! I kinda expected them to also show up when using them, but then again the game isn't a silent game either and I can see how that might become annoying in the end. The art direction is also really cool and all those voice lines would have been fun to experience. I wish I had been able to play it!
This game is so funny! Your full voice acting is a delight, especially "yoink" and the acapella group (the boss fight song had me laughing out loud, and then a great pay off when the boss is annoyed that his singers are not there). The gameplay of collecting title cards instead of items was really clever, and you introduce it really well at the start. The art was excellent. This might be the most fun I've ever had with a LD game. I applaud you!
Not a lot of entries can convince me to take the old Windows box out of mothballs, but I'll do it in a heartbeat to play Trivia Hart II. (Loved the physical "Look over there!" card.)
