Took a few rounds for me to figure out what was going on; would have appreciated a bit more tutorial up front. That said, loved getting strategy tidbits from the game over text. The game over text was fantastic in general.

Very nice game. Loved the look of it and the enemy attack notifications, felt good to play and was fun :)

Hey, this is a really cool combination of mechanics and fits the theme really well. Took me a second to figure out that you have to load up the dead ones to get value out of eating them. In my opinion the combination of the bugs getting thrown away from you after you beat them and the slow movespeed takes away from the usual rewarding feeling you get from the consume and grow type games. If one of those two factors was adjusted I think the game feel would be better. Thank you! P.S. I also love the title

Pretty well made game, good music and visuals and fun to play. Overall it's a bit difficult, it's quite hard to dodge a few of the attacks, especially the bees as they are bit unpredictable.

Kinda fun when you get a lot of pebbles ! But really need a tutorial

I like it's idea. Fits Jam topic. Like agario but with these little fellas to do fighting for you. Felt like I am a summoner class in some game.

Visuals are pleasant and cute

Great game!

It tooks some rounds to understand all the rules but we succeed to play at some point ! Adding the feedback of the collision with an enemy and the one indicating your health state would help a lot =) We are fan of the music and the sound design ! Good job <3

(Oh and we had to move to itch.io to play the game, wasn't working on the ldjam website ><)

Nice music, which motivated me to play on. I found the game to be quite hard. Some enemies with lower health in the beginning could be a possibility. The player was also quite small and I would have liked to see him in more detail - so a larger player on screen is another idea. Overall, I had fun playing your game. GJ

Fun gameplay once you get the hang of it it's a bit addictive :) The music is nice and the story description sets the tone. Great job!

I'm pretty sure I won. hungry.png

I had a blast playing this. It was very satisfying to finally kill a beetle after having several runs ended by their persistence.

On a separate note, as can be seen from my screenshot, at least on web you can basically play the game until it completely tanks itself. It was probably around 700 pebbles that I really started noticing a loss of frames. Personally I think I would have an entity start counting as multiple pebbles when above a certain cap to allow for further progression and even *funnier* numbers.

A very interesting game! It's harder than it looks.

I've never played anything like it before and I really enjoyed it.

The sprites could be a little bigger, but from what I could see, the graphics are very nice. The music is also very good. A very solid game.

Congratulations!

The battle of the small bugs is very interesting, and the big bugs are also very oppressive

Pretty hard Vampire Survivor-ish kind of game. Bit of a tutorial would have been helpful :)

Sound is great, graphics look good too!

I really like the design, the concept is nice and it's a lot of fun to play!

This game was a blast. It seemed a bit counter intuitive to me that the pop up was saying to press space bar to consume like it should it be done immediately. It seemed ideal to wait until the left number went as high as possible first.

I really like how chaotic it gets. It was really satisfying having a ton of pebbles.

I’m really impressed with the overall presentation. For a game developed in such a short time, this is incredibly cohesive. The sound, art, and gameplay all work together beautifully. Keep it up !

Got hooked on the gameplay, at first it's a bit confusing, but when you get it feels amazing! one thing i would say about the gameplay, the screenshake effect gets too much intense when you are over like 1k pebbles, at the point i would avoid looking at the screen for some seconds, for the rest, nice presentation and the audio is great!

fis 2024-10-11 18:31

Very good idea - I enjoyed it a lot!

Sadly the performance worsens extremely after reaching about 1000 pebbles

bugging.png

Two things that I would suggest: 1. limit the screenshake - you basically do not see yourself when thousands of pebbles are attacking 2. merge the pebbles into greater pebbles - as you can't count wether they are 100 or 200, you can definitely limit them down to a reasonable value and scale the damage they are dealing, resulting in the same output but smoother performance experience as the computational load reduces significantly

good entry!
