I loved drifting with the rocket fuel! Controls feel very lawn-mowery. I don't like reversing a car in real life and this captured the feeling well. Showing fuel location with the arrows was a nice touch. I still ran out of fuel twice very close to the can, after circling the can multiple times, just because it was hard to hit - in a good way!

So close: mower.png

Possible bug report: memory use spikes heavily and took all available memory after some time in the start-new-game waiting stage. Windows 10 + Firefox. But I didn't encounter any bugs while playing.

Drifting with lawmower. Adding some colour to the ground where there is still grass left would help to hunt those last blades of grass.

@sisuisa Interesting, I'll look into the memory issue. Thanks for the feedback!

You did really well work with graphics, it looks neat and visually pleasant. I also like the boost feature, I'd like to play the whole game with the boost on  However, it seems that the controls (left/right) is somehow inverted, thus the movements was slightly unexpected.

Nice game! Fun to play :)

Cool game! The drifting was really cool!

Good stuff! Was very satisfying to slowly make it way through even just level 1 :) Suggestions: The controls seem inverted when reversing. Also, when hitting the side, it would be nice if you could avoid needing to reverse and instead just power through, maybe damaging the lawn mower

I like your game! The drifting sensation is very interesting, and the feedback of constantly mowing grass and obtaining fuel makes me feel very relaxed and happy. Mowing grass in a limited area also fits the theme of gamejam very well. However, I feel that it is a bit harsh when I find that there is only one or two blades of grass in a certain area, but I have to make a special trip to reach 100% progress. In addition, using the side and back of the lawnmower to mow grass does not seem very reasonable.

Com certeza é um dos jogos já feitos!

The driving mechanics are nice. It's hard to implement those correctly, so I'm impressed you can do it during the compo. This game is surprisingly relaxing.

Love the art! Found the controls frustrating, and the difficulty too high for med. Overalll good entry!

krynxx 2023-10-07 08:49

Interesting idea. I think the controls could be a bit more direct and maybe let the player turn without having to accelerate. Still a nice game!

chompdev 2023-10-09 02:58

Fun controls and satisfying grass clipping sounds! I like how you have a fuel limit but not a time limit; that makes it feel a lot more relaxing and meditative since you can swoop by and grab more fuel every few passes. Thanks for including the on-screen volume controls, too!

I like the idea, and I had fun trying the game. I am not fan of the controls. But overall an okay little jam game.

I've mowed a lot of lawns and this felt bang on. Except maybe the boost.. but that's fine the boost was awesome.

Looks great. Mower felt good to control (well, a bit wonky.. just like a real mower), the boost felt appropriately insane. Cutting the grass was satisfying. And the mower sound was appropriately monotonous.

On that note some music would have been great.

Also would have liked it if the mower slid along the walls a bit more easily. Like I said I've mowed a lot of lawns and they like to slide around when you run into stuff :)

Besides from the controls that are somehow inverted if you drive backwards, it is a very nice solid jam entry! Well done and keept it up! :)
