Oh geez when those vertical lazers came on my SPACE got really LIMITED. Neat game, I didn't understand what everything did but it looked cool and played nice.

Liked it! Initially it was easy, but as soon as the lasers and catapult came in it pretty much destroyed any thoughts of this being easy; blocking me in such a limited space that is. I do wish though that there were a way to not get stuck and instead keep playing the game infinitely ( also really good soundtrack !! )

chusmimax 2023-10-02 23:03

@chimney-eggs @cheesepencil you can shoot the eyes that activate the lasers to get rid of them, and the game have an actual ending.

I'm actually thinking in quiting the ludum version of the game because the windows size cuts off some important visual info that the itch.io version shows.

Good idea. The LD game embeds are always glitchy, it's not your fault

It took me 4 tries but I finally beat the boss! I think the boss was a bit harsh, on my first and second playthrough I got to the boss without being hit once by anything else, just to get one shot. It kind of made the health pickups seem unnecessary. The third time I got hit by very bad RNG so I got almost no pickups in the early game which left me with at least 40 enemies in the arena when I started finally getting drops :D Maybe a few drops could be guaranteed in the beginning to prevent that. Otherwise a fun and challenging game!

Awesome submission my guy! I am a sucker for bullet hells (for self-gratifying reasons e.g. my game) and yours is really well done! The progression/rate at which difficulty scales is really clean: starting with a slow introduction as enemies are speckled here and there, then a (for me at least) surge in difficulty that is swiftly overcome with powerups that make you feel like a god (as the powerups are tied to the enemies themselves afterall). Really fun play, and a dazzling variety of enemies and attacks. Once again, great stuff!

Nice lil 2d shmup, good work

apophatique 2023-10-03 07:44

It was a trap, but a well-crafted one. The gameplay evolves quickly and I loved the appearance of the catapults off-screen! Well done!

milq 2023-10-03 10:38

Fantastic game! I'm captivated by the variability in each match and the escalation of difficulty. The power-ups inject an additional thrill into the gameplay, providing immense satisfaction with each use. The final boss embodies the quintessence of challenge, maintaining a rigorous combat experience. Ultimately, with a few determined attempts, the game can be conquered, ensuring a well-balanced and thoroughly engaging experience. An utterly awesome game!

Ooh this was an addictive game. I got as far as the catapult and beams the first time and had to come back here to figure out what to do next. I there was any hint in the game I was already too busy dodging stuff  Great game. Well done!

Pretty fun. Played for quite a while but couldnt get past the wizard person.

freeworld 2023-10-04 01:20

A very solid bullet hell! The animations were a nice touch! Great fit for the theme too, it got crowded very quickly :P

thaprofesional 2023-10-04 10:59

The music was incredibly catchy, the art was excellent and the difficulty ramped up perfectly. The enemies and the general style / theme were really cool. There were a bunch of times I said "what?!" out loud - it was great.

Had a few bad runs where it seemed like no power ups were dropping -but I stuck with it and managed to beat the game.

Great work :D

jens-g 2023-10-04 21:53

Looked basic at first but really surprised me with how in depth it turned out. Great job! Hehe

ferellia 2023-10-05 05:17

I kept being surprising and impressed by the enemy variety! I cleared it on my 3rd try. First time I got mostly health upgrades and only 1 fire rate upgrade and was just kinda overwhelmed by basic mobs. Second time I made it to the boss but got stuck and died immediately. Third run I realized you could actually clear the giant lasers by shooting the top and cleared it.

Overall had a lot of fun playing it!

anthonich 2023-10-05 07:52

Very nice games ! Pretty fun :D

minjutin 2023-10-05 08:04

Green enemies are the most annoying thing, they are going in such a smooth curve but I just can't seem to find a right angle to hit them without missing. Just when you think it's becoming repetitive it becomes much harder and surprises you with new enemies. Well done

fabula-rasa 2023-10-05 14:01

Very cool! I had fun playing and managed to escape on my second try.

You really balanced it well. There is a lot going on on the screen and there are new things appearing all the time, but it does not feel overwhelming or "too much". Rather, it feels interesting and just the right amount of challenging. The graphics are nice and clean, music fits very well and adds a cool tempo to the game.

Superb. And extremely impressive job for a compo!

The only thing that I felt was missing was some kind of feedback on sword buffs. I assume they were "bullet strength" - maybe a bullet could get larger or change colors. But that's a minor thing.

chusmimax 2023-10-05 19:14

@fabula-rasa Little variations when you enhance the bullets would be so fast to implement I feel kind of stupid now for not implementing it. I'll be sharper next time, thanks for the advice.

Also, thanks everyone for the feedback. Feel free to point out anything you feel that was wrong or any possible improvements. I'm reading every comment and I want to do even better next time.

funemaker 2023-10-07 02:02

Nice job! Definitely ran out of space!!

voidsay 2023-10-07 12:16

That part about being able to shoot the laser generators wasn't obvious. Had to play again after I read your comment. It was definitely a lot more pressure with the "infinite" lasers, but I still managed to reach the boss. With the new knowledge it almost feels too easy. Other than the boss with the insta fail pits. You have to really commit while dodging the push orb to get into the safe zone.

phlip45 2023-10-07 21:23

I liked this one! Started out a bit slow, but once things ramped up it was very fun. The boss was a little out of left field. I was fighting all these robots and drones, when suddenly.. Wizard! Or at least that is what it looked like haha.

Edit: Just played it back to make sure it was a wizard and it is, though they have a cybernetic arm so I it is sorta on theme. Very Touhou inspired it felt like.

tygrak 2023-10-12 09:10

That was very fun! I loved how it progressively got more and more chaotic over time (and it also fit the theme so good as multiple of the things limited the space :D ). Simple mechanics, but very fun -- that's often the best combination!

shigor 2023-10-14 11:29

The start was deceptive simple, but then the bullet hell came and it become faster and faster... nice use of theme , didn't expect the situation to escalate so quickly ;)
