LD51 — Every 10 seconds

TBD - Time-based disaster by Zirrrus 2022-10-03T11:10:45Z

Unfortunately this didn't run for me in the browser. Looks great from the screenshots though, clearly a game in there so well done from me :)

Portal shield charge by GettingRekt 2022-10-04T10:06:52Z

Hey I really enjoyed your game. I liked the mechanic of switching shields every 10 seconds, nice theme tie in :)) I thought the audio complemented the game both in style and gameplay. The controls were a little tough to get comfortable to for me, i felt the Q and E buttons for turning made it tough and wonder if you removed gravity and left the ship floating to a stop instead of dropping, it might give new comers a chance at the start. Thank you for submitting and well done for doing it in 48 !! Looking forward to seeing this evolve as I love a space shooter

Automatos by Mikushi 2022-10-06T11:56:03Z

Nice survival game, I thought the game aesthetics and audio created the right mood together and the game pace/ levelling worked really well. I guess UI is the only issue as I have terrible eyesight so it was difficult to see some of the UI metrics during play and wonder if they could be enhanced/ enlarged without detracting from the game space?! :)) Overall I thought this was a well developed submission using the theme to effect. The nuance was of it all was cool,, I just couldn't see UI too well to enjoy it in all its glory [this might be my bad for having poor eyesight probably ha] Tahnks for submitting and letting me have a play through - good luck in compo!

Echo by caeonosphere 2022-10-06T11:39:17Z

I really loved playing this. Thank you! It felt the most original in terms of idea to me so far, implementing a really cool shader effect tying in with the "every 10 seconds" theme really well. Player mechanics seem standard - no insights there although I enjoyed the wall running mechanic and would love to see more of that - maybe a little more forgiving for newcomers :)) The ping shader mechanic has been my favourite visual experience in trying the COMPO entries so far, it ties the aesthetic together beautifully and the duotone/ black n white low poly style is right up my street. The guy with the video review [TIP: worth a quick watch before playing versus after like me lol] coined it nicely "mysterious and spooky". Well done on such a great sub, and thank you for providing a cool experience! :))

Space Kitten by Renan Felipe 2022-10-03T12:55:24Z

love it, great fun. possibly feature complete [but i didnt finish it as it got too difficult for my skillz]! This has been the most fun and most complete game I've stumbled across so far today. fits well with the every 10 seconds theme for LD51 and the difficulty ramped up quick on level 6 making it a real challenge. I really loved it! Thank you for submitting in 48 and well done on such a cool little title, plus who can deny any cat as cute as that, especially a space cat!

TENET SECONDS by MoebiusMeow 2022-10-10T15:46:56Z

Well, like the many other before me here, I have really enjoyed this submission and thank you for submitting. If I could pick a negative to feedback on; it seems like you could implement more audio with non-linearity versus the current offering, which I still enjoyed and found easy on the ears but so much I would just love to hear more of it ha :) Thank you for letting me play it, highly recommended to anyone who hasn't yet!

Great idea, and love the swell effect when you warp. Very macabre theme, but I like it! Could you perhaps give players a quick run down before sending them in, I know my submission felt flawed because it just throws you in and relies on a user reading the description below game window before jumping in making it difficult to grasp the gameplay mechanics immediately/ easily - something i felt was similar in this for me . However, Great submission, thanks for letting me try it out

Keyboard Dungeon by Kevin Du 2022-10-03T01:35:59Z

I really loved the innovative movement controls in this submission, using the keyboard keys was different and felt good after a few attempts. I didnt get to the end :( Thank you for letting me play your game :))

Compulsive Jousting by Mavvy 2022-10-10T15:25:35Z

This was a solid game and I enjoyed the challenge. This is a viable vertical slice of a potentially great little casual game here with lots of scope IMO. I feel it would be a great fun time passer particularly on mobile platforms :) Overall, a very well delivered submission with some cute graphics and easy to pick up gameplay, a key mechanic conforming to the suggested theme, and all done delivered in 48 hours... Sir, I salute you! Thanks for making :))

10 Second Apocalypse by TexelProto 2022-10-03T12:07:54Z

would love to play this idea, but web browser version is broken for me unfortunately. well done on your first jam entry and super well done for submitting on time !! that's a skill/ experience you can take away from it in and of itself ha! Happy to return if the game gets fixed for a play through and a rating :))

Betrayed by greenphox 2022-10-03T12:15:25Z

I have the "failed to read service worker error" so I cant play it in the browser :/, looking forward to returning and seeing it in action for a rating if you fix it . Well done on submitting in 48 :))

Betrayed by greenphox 2022-10-03T13:03:08Z

After finding out wit was available to play on itch, I jumped back over; this was great to play, audio atmosphere was really cool too. Love the grey scale/ black and white styling and felt it fit the game jam theme really well. I would say it was quite innovative and the simple art style is really complimentary all in all. I really like this casual game and the UI / tutorial and win/ lose conditions were well executed IMO :)) Super well done & Thank you for submitting a cool game :))

Ten Seconds To Midnight by reevest2 2022-10-02T23:35:11Z

Greta stuff, like the movement and the power up change

Spooky Shooter by mgnta 2022-10-03T00:25:54Z

This was an interesting bit of fun, I liked the switches but woudl have liked to see an indicator the change was coming perhaps. great 48 outcome, nice work !

Switcheroo by Prologi 2022-10-03T00:58:57Z

It wont load the page on itch for me :(

Switcheroo by Prologi 2022-10-03T02:02:39Z

I won, I beat the hexadexgonic evil mage thing! got to have another try i thought on your now sorted upload - great lil fun game, sticks well to jam theme and can see lots of passion in there. liking the pixelated shader !

Monster's Dungeon Shop by Deniz ARAS 2022-10-03T01:39:54Z

This game hook was addictive after you get good at moving the items to the shoppers! Thank you for letting me play your game :))

My WebGL version broke due to a compression format exception, so it may be the same for the one uploaded here if it has the same rules as itch.io for web gl uploads... So, I have uploaded a fixed version to

You're going up [whether you like it or not!] by Gruff 2022-10-03T01:57:06Z

@smilewood, thank you for the feedback, i have added a small description which i forgot to add first upload around. But in general, you have to hit the coloured boxes that match the big colour squares, if there are 2 green and a blue, you have to hit the green box twice and the blue box once to get the order right, you will discover if you got them all correct at the top level :) You only have 10 seconds per level rise which is the theme tie in alongside the 10 second audio loop :) Hope that helps clarify it a bit , sorry it was a bit obtuse on first play through

You're going up [whether you like it or not!] by Gruff 2022-10-03T11:49:28Z

Hey @thegamearchitect, have a quick read over of the landing page under game itself here, there are basic instructions.. but basically speaking, and it is basic ha, its similar to a "Simon Says" clone. You must hit the boxes below the big colours and hit them a number of times according what the big boxes display, E.g. Two green and one red, hit the green box twice, hit the redbox once - do it before your dragged up to the next level, at the end you will have dont the hits correctly and win or lose if you didnt :) Thanks for your feedback though dude :) P.S There are power ups per level, which may or may not boost your speed for you - you will jump higher when standing still than when moving, unless you have a power up and your distance and height will change to cater for long jump hits if can time if right.

You're going up [whether you like it or not!] by Gruff 2022-10-03T13:05:29Z

@kevin-du haha thank you for playing it. I thnk youre right the add nothing at mo and in order was the original idea, but i ran out of time to implement that part, lazily left them in is the answer to that I'm afraid :)) Thank you for giving it a try! Good luck _ I loved your keyboard controls in your game , thought it was very innovative :))

You're going up [whether you like it or not!] by Gruff 2022-10-04T09:52:34Z

Thanks @linus-lindberg, ah yes the power up, it is on a chance that you'll get a speed boost versus nothing, so it's a distraction or a potential saviour ha. Also I felt I had to slow the player down a little in order to make the 10 second timer feature half effective at least against player movement. Thank you so much for the constructive feedback and playing my entry :))

You and Floor by Climbing Dolphin 2022-10-03T12:33:53Z

I actually thought this was a great idea, its obviously early[made in 48 hrs] but the gameplay loops is really cool. my only problem mi could not get over was when the bamboo is floor and blocks you completely versus being able to maybe slowly get over them instead, as I had Bamboo is Floor several times in a row which made it frustrating. Anyway, great title screen, nice tight UI, easy to play[controls could be improved/ smoother feeling but you kinda get used to it as part of the game difficulty curve... Thank you for submitting, well done for doing it in 48 too !

Castle Keep Courier by TemperateEnd 2023-05-02T14:54:51Z

I really liked the concept of collecting and dropping off, it was simple to get going and easy to undertake, once I had discovered what to do. I felt the game lacked any sort of preamble or UI text telling you what it is and how to play this. I was also able to get out of the game area, which seemed cool to do, but if I had fallen off the end of the map, I would have been stuck falling FOREVER... and with No way to exit the game too! [outside of pressing the Windows Key and cancelling through a Windows context menu]

simple resolve:

if(Input.GetKeyUp(Keycode.Escape) Application.Quit();

Put one in your Update or a better place like a state machine and shazam: it's where our fingers wanna take us when its quitting time :) Loved the effort, didn't join this Ludum Dare so cant award, but great looking simple mechanics game but with no indicators or sign posts regarding what to do [except the particle effects once you get what they mean after a run about for a bit :)]

Ooh, I also liked the slow down mechanic for really heavy things like the sword
