I have the "failed to read service worker error" so I cant play it in the browser :/, looking forward to returning and seeing it in action for a rating if you fix it . Well done on submitting in 48 :))

Great game! The concept feels very unique and engaging, and it is fun to plan how many enemies to leave alive for the next iteration. The player, however, seems to get stuck on walls if holding two movement keys at once.

Really interesting to have the triangles switching from friendly to enemies, and I like how you have to dodge the bullets even when they're friendly. My best score was 55, it starts to get really hectic after a while! Only issue I had was I was losing all momentum when I touched the walls, instead of just the momentum into the wall, but I just kept away from the walls and it didn't affect me much. Great entry!

I really appreciate the somber feel (with the B/W theme, subtle sfx, and background music). You're always kept on edge, especially with the drifty-ness of the movement, and the fact that you are also susceptible to the bullets. Nice game!

Nice and simple concept. Love the implementation of it. Basic design but works! On my end the sound was cracking a lot but I suspect it was an issue on my end since no one else mentioned it. Overall good job!

After finding out wit was available to play on itch, I jumped back over; this was great to play, audio atmosphere was really cool too. Love the grey scale/ black and white styling and felt it fit the game jam theme really well. I would say it was quite innovative and the simple art style is really complimentary all in all. I really like this casual game and the UI / tutorial and win/ lose conditions were well executed IMO :)) Super well done & Thank you for submitting a cool game :))

You really nailed the minimalist feel. It looks so simple, but it feels so complete. The friend-enemy switch every 10s was a really good idea for this theme. The controls/movement felt natural too. The friend-enemy switch mixed with the self-inflicted bullet dodging is all the complexity that I want from a casual play. Well done!

Very fun! Solid arcade game. I liked the shooting mechanic - having other objects shoot and needing to avoid them was cool. The sticky level boundaries caught me off guard a few times - maybe hey should be slippery? I would often just tap a wall and that would kill my speed, causing me to take hits. Still, really fun arcade game - one of the really fun games I've played so far. Bravo!

wow! my strategy for this game kept continually evolving, but after a few playthroughs I'm still not sure what I think the best one is!

I especially liked that I could get cornered - it really made the edges of the screen feel extra dangerous to navigate

I really liked the game idea this is really good ! I ended up stucked in a corner, trapped by my strategy of moving on the border of the screen.

Cool game, you really have to think where to shoot, and I like that the triangles don't shoot immediately after spawning. I got stuck a lot on the edges of the map, and eventually got sandwiched by too many enemies.

@clement-k your are not the only one noticing the cracking of audio, I'll probably fix it if I decide to update the game.thanks for the feedback!

@ideaspersecond what do you mean with "layout" the set of rules? the graphics? the mechanics?. Try to keep some enemies alive to help you in the next round, if you don't it is indeed going to be confining.. Thanks for playing, for the feedback and for letting me know for your honest opinion.

Very cool game, the simple artstyle works really well. Sounds are pretty nice, but the impact sound from when you hit an enemy is really loud to the point where it sounds a bit distorted. Might just be my setup though, I tried webgl version on itch.

The sound design and the graphics are pretty clean and minimal. I like that. I also like that the tutorial is short and easy. Really gets to the point quickly. Only thing I would add in the tutorial is that shots can damage the octagon.

As you play you develop some strategies for what triangles you want to keep/shoot. Easy to learn, difficult to master. Epic game.

I only dislike that you get stuck on walls. Otherwise very polished.

Unique concept and it works. It's not unusual that such abstract games are hard to understand and get a hang of, but this was very intuitive and the rules worked well to create fun gameplay.

The melody was fitting with the puzzly atmosphere. The other sounds were a bit strange, like shooting for example sounded like barcode scanner. :smile:

Also, since a major part of the game is movement and dodging there were a couple of places that I think could be improved for better/more fair experience, namely: not getting stuck on walls and triangles indicating where they would spawn so that the player would have some time to react and not crash into them accidentally.

I got 63 after a few plays, not sure if that's good :smile:

Overall very nice and fun game :thumbsup:

Thanks a lot for playing, but thanks a lot-er for your feedback, I am currently trying to fix the bug of sticking in walls, and I'll probably make also some effect to indicate where the next triangle will spawn. (Of course, I am not gonna update anything until the voting period ends.) Thanks again for your time!

The idea is pretty fun, but the gameplay a bit confusing to play. I like the visuals, and the music is good, but I don't think it fits the game idea very well. Overall is this an interesting little jam game.

Yes, I did play the tutorial, and I do understand the idea how to play it. But the constant chances was a bit confusing. This does not mean that the idea is not fun.

When I talk about 'game idea' I mean the game have a way it is played and look, and this for me not really connect to the music that is used in the game.

@jk5000 thanks for your reply, I can now understand better your feedback, I really appreciate it. It is true I would prefer a longer timer for changes, or having a sound effect for when the timer is ending.I will probably update the music if I ever continue developing it.

I like the way you approached the theme. You do a lot with just a couple of colours and simple shapes, I'm really quite impressed.

The only critique I have is about the difficulty curve. The game seems almost trivial until suddenly a kajillion triangles are spawning at once. I think tweaking the fire rate on friendly triangles might help, it seems quite fast and can destroy an entire cycle's enemies in a few seconds.

That was a great compo !

Here my unsorted pile of various remarks: * First of what the heck is wrong withthat resoltuon ? I played it on itch.io fullscreen (like recommended) and everything was so blurry at 1080p... Why lock the resolution (so low) for simple shapes like these ? * The various feedbacks when you get hit or kill other are great !! It's easy to know what is going on, keep it yp ! * The music track was quite good. It felt however so out of place whith what was going on in the game. I feel like a more punchier track would have made more sense for that kind of game. * The tutorial was easy to understand, quick and interactivve. I had no tyrouvbles whatsoever to understand your game at first glance. A real pleasure ! * The gameplay was fun ! A tad bit repetitive and would have been absolutely lovely with more variety but it's still really good for a first compo entrey !

That's a fun concept, especialy the switch between ennemies and "allies" (it's a lie, there is no friends here. They always killed me :'( ) I'm not a big fan of the music, because it sound more athmospherical and think it's probably more appropriate for a "chill" game The colliding boxes that stuck you is really deadly ! Maybe too much, as if you get stuck, it's more or less the end of the game :( (killed by "bad" triangles or "good" triangles who shoot at you to kill what stuck you Anyway, it's impressive for a compo game !

OOOOH when the switch happened and I finally got why you titled the game "Betrayed" it was such a neat 'gotcha'.

Like the comment before me I agree. I'm not too big fan of the music (maybe ur going for a sad 'betrayed music') but for a game like this I felt like it needed a bit more oomph

Solid result from a compo and the tutorial was concise and useful! Got pushed into the corner once and had no option to get out, also the cycles were a bit too slow paced. I enjoyed the basic game function and I feel like you did a great job with it!

@enderswype thanks a lot for your feedback, sticky walls is a bug that I will certainly fix when the ld results come out. With cycles you mean bullets right?
