Thanks for playing and here is a playthrough video! @triangle-point

Great job, very well polished, graphics and music are on point, and these puzzles are mind-bending ! Congratulations for putting up all of this in only 48 hours !
I am not much of a 2D gamer so take this however you'd like. It's a lot of fun. I enjoy the movement the character has along with how its movement reacts with the objects in the scene. When the clock hits 10 and we start working backwards is a great touch, instead of forcing a hard reset. Fun game!
A really cool idea - properly mind-bending puzzles :)
Visually incredible and very polished. Love the Interstellar like music!
Loving the take on this idea, and the audio was looooovely.. I wasn't sure for a while what "W" was doing, but it's my own fault for not reading down the game page before playing.. Nice one!
@laurahur
Thanks!
I have to admit that the introduction of the mechanics is not clear enought considering the complexity. It is hard to convey that both "standing on the machine" and "reaching 10 second" have to be satisfied.
It was intended that players can learn to use 'W' in level 2.
Could have done with some examples on how to play as it was a little unclear. But the sounds, graphics and controls were all well made. Well Done!
Nice game you have there... You really chose a great idea
Great! So elaborated and finished. I complete some levels not like in guide and last level was too hard for me, I was only able to jump on first platforms. At first I dont understand the meaning of "W" as sell. The mecanics are unexpected and interesting, good job!
Amazing game! The audio and graphics are on point, and they really help set the mood for the game. The reversing of audio when in reverse-time mode is great attention to detail, and the idea for the game is very cool. I really enjoyed playing this. Only thing i'd say, is: some levels might be a bit too difficult. I completed level 8 by carefully timing my jump such that none fell, and completing the level in 2 jumps without using time reversal. But i couldn't figure out level 9.
@gamejmunk Thanks! I'm glad that you like the game.
Actually, there is no need to use time reversing in level 8 since it is designed to introduce the trick of multiple characters, which is crucial in level 9. (stack two characters and jump)
Indeed some levels are really hard to figure out (such as level 7). That's why players are allowed to skip them and challenge the next levels. However when you solve the challenging puzzles you might feel like being the master of time XD
I have uploaded a walkthrough video in comments. You can check it out if you want to know the designed solution of each level. (By the way there are also many different solutions other than those in the video)
Audio and visuals are on point here, and the puzzle design is quite solid as well! As its been mentioned, teaching the mechanics could have been done better as there was definitely some initial confusion. I didn't solve puzzle 10 but the solution from your video makes perfect sense. Only thing I found genuinely frustrating was the interactions between the 2 characters, particularly on level 9. I would often press jump and only one of them would actually jump due to some quirk in the system. Still, fantastic game!
Awesome concept, and really clever puzzles! 6 was my favourite, the "aha!" moment there really felt awesome super smooth controls, very beautiful visuals, and the little gun was fun too haha. Great entry!
@sky Yeah I have to admit that it feels weird that you cannot jump while standing on the machine, which makes level 9 much harder. I should have done better on these basic systems. (Actually this is my first Unity 2d-platformer game. I have been using other tools previously.) Thanks for your advice!
@bosce I'm glad you like it. By the way it was once intended to make some puzzles with the gun and bullets in the reversed time at first. I even made reversed sound effects for the gun. However I could not finish the gun system on time. Then I removed the puzzles but the little gun was kept. XD
Good puzzles, really well polished game. I was also initially confused about how the W key was used as well, though. Nice stuff, regardless!
A bit unclear at first, but had fun playing it. Congrats, nice game!
Great idea on the theme, the puzzles were well designed to fit the mechanic! Took some time to wrap my head around the time travel, but I had a lot of fun figuring out the solutions.
I did liked your game. Very cool idea. Good game at overall.
Really well done! This really was a novel puzzle game, which is hard to do! I am always amazed at people who can make really good puzzles in games like this. Very nice work!
I am not sure how I feel about the physics system. It DOES make for some cool puzzles, but it also makes execution pretty difficult, even once you know the answer. Even so, these are nitpicks against a top-tier entry. Well done.
Wow, well done. Sound and graphics are amazing for a compo game. The mechanics are really clever as well.
just as complex as the movie!!!
Finding the solutions was not the problem for me, what was difficult was executing it. As other said the issue when stacking characters and jumping and not being able to jump while on the machine made the last few levels more difficult than necessary. Great game still.
Super cool idea, and very well executed!
Cool game. I got lost at beginning, but got it. Graphics are very cool!
Best game I played this jam so far. The graphics are amazing, the reversed sound sounds great, the idea is cool and matches the theme perfectly.
Awesome look and feel, music, sfx, just great. I will say that without reading the description I was super confused by "W" input, I think there could be some kind of indication that something is happening when I hold "W" (sfx, gfx), also time reversal itself is a bit confusing at first
Last one took a few tries but all in all this was a cool game with good level design, artstyle and mechanics.
Unexpededly clever with a whooping 10 levels!
I love it ^^ amazing compo game, 10 well made levels and everything works really well together as a full game.
This was a clever idea but I feel it was almost ... too clever? I think it would have been good to introduce the player to the various mechanics one at a time. Why can you switch time direction in the first level? How do you know that you can collect the orbs with any blue or orange object? What do blue objects even do? And so on. I see now that these things are explained in text in the description, but it is so much better to let the player experience them first-hand.
(For that matter I felt the blue objects were somewhat inconsistent with the game's own rules: at the start of the level they are static for 10 seconds, but for every other cycle from then on, they will spend those 10 seconds reversing through their motions.)
It's nice that you note in the description that there are unintended solutions, but I think I solved more levels unintentionally than intentionally :D That also makes me wonder if there isn't too much freedom in the system vs constraints in the level design.
I think I would have spent more time trying to solve the remaining levels had it not been for the platforming: it was way too floaty and jumping from the diagonal platforms was a very bad experience.
The visuals and audio were quite polished. Playing music like this in reverse is always an interesting sound, and it didn't get old too quickly.
@aurel300
Thanks for your detailed feedback! I tried to introduce the mechanics using the first few levels, though I have to admit that it was not clear enough. As a result, placing a time machine in the first level is not really a good attempt.
It was intended for players to try the machine themselves and obtain a brief understanding of the machine. During their exploration in level 1, they would probably meet the time reversion in 10 seconds. And then there would be a test for these basic mechanics in level 2. I thought that players can feel like they're clever when they figure out all these things by themselves. However, the fact is that I should have made it clear,
This also holds for the orb collecting mechanics. In level 4 there is a ball naturally running towards then orb which is on the top platform. Then player have to push another ball to collect orbs. I tried to use this level to tell players that you can use anything to collect orbs. (When it comes to orbs with blue objects, I originally designed different colors of orbs but I didn't make it to implement due to a lack of time.)
Indeed the freezed blue objects are a little strange considering the whole mechanics. As far as I know, you can use this feature to push the big blue box in level 7. (It was actually my first solution to this level.) The point is that even though the time is limited to 0-10 second, objects do not always go in loops, since the unseen former loop is undetermined. I also planned to further exploring this mechanics if there was more time.
By the way in level 6 you can directly jump to the orb if you push the top part of the box and perform a jump on it. The moment feeling that "Oh I'm more clever than the designer!" is great. So didn't lock the rotation of the box as in level 7.
Indeed the physic system need to be optimized. I should have done it better.
After all, thanks for your advice! ^^
My brain hurts from this  Good job :thumbsup_tone1: I liked simplicity of the graphics. The mechanics weren't exactly easy to get in to - but I did like the core concept. Really really nice entry.
Well, like the many other before me here, I have really enjoyed this submission and thank you for submitting. If I could pick a negative to feedback on; it seems like you could implement more audio with non-linearity versus the current offering, which I still enjoyed and found easy on the ears but so much I would just love to hear more of it ha :) Thank you for letting me play it, highly recommended to anyone who hasn't yet!
I like the base concept. I had fun figuring out how to navigate the characters in time. Also the art style are amazing! I love the lighting and how the shadows of the clocks move as time goes by (or goes back).
The controls felt awkward sometimes. I don't play many platformer games and I can't put my finger on it, but the platforming did not go as I want it to be in level 8 and the bottom right part of level 9.
