I love the mystery of the world uncovering. The game kinda dragged on though and I didn't know what each upgrade did. I think there is a lot of potential!

I love the mystery of the world uncovering. The game kinda dragged on though and I didn't know what each upgrade did. I think there is a lot of potential!
The pace is VERY slow, and there is a lack of communication as to what each upgrade does and which materials I can/can't break, but otherwise is a solid game and fits the theme very well.
Nice exploration game. It feels complete. Music is cool (tho too quite, I thought it had no audio at first). It feels nice to level up. The pace is too slow tho imo, everything takes a long time to do. I struggled to understand why I could dig things or not at first, the water bar UI is not that clear at first glance. So it's lacking a bit of fun for me, but the rest is well made, good job!
I get the criticism you have received so far. I feel like I got lucky in that I understood the upgrades and the best strat at the beginning so it didn't feel /too/ slow. I think the slowness is part of it and pastelly color palette and the music really works with that. Edit: I still keep clicking on the upgrades.
I love the art style, and the music is so good, too good to be that quiet! I agree it's missing some information, I got really confused at the beginning, I didn't know I should keep going on the direction of the tiles to destroy it, also the upgrades didn't make a lot of sense for me in the beginning. But overall it's a really solid entry! Good job. :)
Nice
I liked it! The world is well built despite being simple and the gameplay is easy to pick up on.
very calm games, but it's hard to understand which improvement does what.
Felt a cool sense of exploration at first, the way the world is revealed to you bit by bit as you move closer feels really cool. I think the progression would feel more satisfying if it felt like I was working towards more than just new colours of dirt to eat? I don't ever even feel like I'm digging through the dirt that much faster as I get more mouth upgrades because each colour of dirt is tougher than the last, this makes it feel kinda tedious. I love the way the upgrades are represented with abstract icons where you have to kinda figure out what they mean.
Took me a bit of trial and error before I understood what each upgrade did and what the blue bar meant, but once I did, it was very enjoyable. I think the base speed for everything could have been just a little bit faster to keep things moving through slow segments. Definitely enjoyed the exploration feel.
love the music. It made for a relaxing experience. If I'm understanding the upgrade system its Sight Range, Dig Speed, and Move Speed. It feels like your testing the players ability to pick out an optimal upgrade path. I think you run the risk of people not choosing the correct path and having a frustrating time. Congrats on the entry!
This is a simple but really well executed game. There's actually a lot going on here but I like how considered everything is. I like the sense of discovery and adventure like having to go and find the collectibles/XP boosts and having to continuously roam around the map. Nice work! btw - it's strangely addictive. After leaving my review I felt I still needed to beat it so I did!
Nice game! At first, I did not really feel the difference the upgrades made, but after some time I got it. :)
Cool graphics, groovy music which made it easy to keep playing. Took me a bit to figure out what was going on, but once I did it was really relaxing. Maybe too relaxing.. but it was really easy to keep playing to the end.
Kind of wish all the bugs didn't run away.. but also liked that it made the upgrade choices mean a bit more.
Was fun to explore and level up the snek, and finding all the bugs gave you a good reason to level up movement. Was satisfying to see 'em all on the end screen too!
Not bad, but at first I expected it to be a puzzle. The gameplay quickly got boring, maybe it would have been better later. The sound design is good.
There was music the whole time!? I finished the game without any audio and such it felt kind of slog. The base idea is good. Upgrades could be more effective and include a tooltip what they do to initially get going.
I wasn't a fan of the fleeing bugs, would have preferred if they at least fled a couple blocks away. The controls felt little janky with the accidental diagonal movement.
Loved the music once I found it. Good job!
