I couldn't run the mac version because the wrong permissions was set on the app. I changed them but the game was quitting after the first screen.
I tried the love file and I have the following error: ``` Cannot compile pixel shader code: Line 15: ERROR: Invalid call of undeclared identifier 'texture2D' Line 16: ERROR: Invalid call of undeclared identifier 'texture2D' Line 17: ERROR: Invalid call of undeclared identifier 'texture2D'

Graphics, Audio and Mood wise, Very Great! Sadly not that much fun.
@nicmagnier I'm not sure about the permissions, but I uploaded a new version that hopefully fixed the error you got.

Absolutely great! You could make a commercial game out of this where you can make something more with the items you retrieve, but I already enjoyed what it offers.
ok the game is working for me now! Thanks for the fix :)
This is a really good entry.
At first diving is quite nice and relaxing but the experience become a bit more tensed quickly which is nice and kept me hooked. And despite the upgrades the tension is still very much present until the very end. That was a very nice balancing.
My only grip might be that especially at the beginning it bothered me that I had to rememeber where I already went or where I wanted to go. I made multiple fruitless back and forth because I kept being lost. After a bit I got used to it and I also realized there was pockets of air that made it easier (and necessary).
Easy to pick up. The pixel art is clear and easy to read. The dither effect in dark places is awesome. The heartbeat adds to the tension. It was fun swimming around and discover stuff, but it's also easy to get lost after a while and keep track of everything. Maybe add a minimap? Overall nice entry!

The blur effects are a bit harsh, but other than that it's a great jam game. :)

This has the solid makings of a great survival game. My main complaint was the blury view in the water but once i realised you need to find goggles it went from a bad feature to a good one. the Art was on point and was fitting to the theme, i never got to the end after 10+ attempts but thats cause im bad :P
Great Game!!
I love the exploration aspect and the Metroidvania powerups. I also like that you don't lose all that you have collected when you die (I should have done that in my game)
I knew that wood was what I needed to collect to end the game, but I didn't know how much, so near the end when I was collecting the last piece I didn't know if it was my last or if I needed to go even "deeper". Might be nice to know how that you are "completed" so you can know when to return to the surface.
But I stuck it through and finished the game!! Great Entry!
Took me about 20 minutes but I finally found all 10 pieces of wood :evergreen_tree: You nailed the atmosphere/mood. The audio suited the visuals well and I gotta admit I developed a sense of anxiety while playing  I got over it, though (thank god for pockets of air).
Well done for creating so many items and animations in 48 hours! Pretty impressive considering it's a compo entry.
Thanks for making it <3

I really appreciated the cool upgrades like the mask that undoes the blur effect and the flashlight. This was a really neat game and while the core mechanic of swimming isn't all that engaging, the world you built and upgrades to find kept me interested until the end. Really cool game!

Really well polished! Quite hard! A little slow and tedious, which doesn't work so well with the punishing difficulty and having to restart from nothing. The pixel art and effects is quite nice and the sound is great. I wasn't sure what the things I picked up did.
I like graphics and the animation of the character, she is hilarious. Concept is good and there is a lot of good idea on it (sound of the heart when oxygen become critical etc....). Just a thing this can be frustationg because i want to explore deep but i rapidly limited because of the oxygen at the beginning (and i lose all the items). The level design with shortcut to go more deeper with the good tools is also a nice idea like a metroidvania. That's really a nice work !

I was holding my breath the whole game watching your fun animations! I liked that the game really did make me want to go deeper. And the risk reward of going for it or playing it safe was fun too. Nice game! :)
Fun animation and effects! Could be pretty harsh for a jam game, but I'm not really one to talk since I always make my games too hard. A nice, effortful entry.
Fun game! The drowning animation is brutal.

why dont we just chop down the tree on the island bruh
Really liked the animations and effects. They added a lot to the mood. Great use of shaders too. Good beginning for a sandbox game.
Lots of potential for expansion here, great art, great use of the theme!

Great game. The effects were used well. The darkness halftone shader was not so good, I think because it faded into the water colour water than black making it look like the blocks were dissolving rather than getting harder to see. A minimap would have been nice. I was stuck for a while just before finding the pickaxe because a route I missed.
As others have recommended, I think a minimap (with fog of war) would be very helpful since it's difficult to keep the whole maze in your head, but it depends on the type of challenge you're going for.

This game is so cute and the dive animation always cracks me up haha. It'd be nice to have something that tells you how deep in the water you are. I've tried to keep track of my breathe but often ended up getting lost. I still enjoyed that part of the challenge =) Thank you!
I really like it. This game feels like an adventure!

There's some very nice animation work here - though I was surprised there wasn't any character animation for swimming diagonally down-left or down-right, especially considering how many of the tunnels were set up to be swam through that way.
But I do especially like how the music, sound effects and visual effects all build up the atmosphere, especially when you're running out of oxygen! They really help build up the tension of the "you are going to drown"-ness.
It's always a pleasure playing your entries each Ludum Dare, and this was no exception. I don't know how you manage to create such an intensive feel for the game using fairly simple graphics and animations. It's some kind of "Sheepolution magic".
As you start to run out of oxygen, you feel it, almost physically. I loved the metroidvaina style progression, a lot of the items where really cool as well. I liked the blurry screen effect, but was thinking that maybe it was going to get a bit annoying after a while, and then boom, you find the googles and everything becomes super clear. Another example is the flashlight, and how you find the dark deep ocean before you find the flashlight. Which makes it feel even better when you do find it.
It's a very good take on the theme, you are constantly debating weather or not you can afford to go deeper, or if you need to cancel and try to find air.
Fantastic entry! :)
The drowning felt super intense. I thought it kind of clashed with the cheery tone of the graphics and the diving animation (which is great)! I was pretty addicted to the diving flow so that worked well, but I think the items were too spread out and random for me to get that metroidvania enjoyment. I didn't end up finishing it. One thing that was strange was this air pocket under some dirt, not sure if that was intentional. I also didn't quite know what all the items did - not sure if it affected speed or oxygen or what.
This is (in a good way) a poor man's Subnautica. The level design is GREAT
