Burry this… Thing by LeReveur 2021-05-03T11:39:04Z
I enjoyed playing your game, it's definitely something different and well executed. Congrats!

I enjoyed playing your game, it's definitely something different and well executed. Congrats!
Really awesome art. I would love to see a multiplayer version. Congrats!
This is one of the best games I played on this jam, congrats!
The only thing I don't like is that damaging yourself doesn't turn your invulnerable for a while, which I think it's kind of the usual.
Great game! Awesome art. I agree with other comments: it could be a bit easier (keep in mind, in jams it's always better to aim to something easy to play instead of ending with a really hard game).
I think the gameplay could be expanded a bit adding some bubbles with movement?
BTW, keep in mind that you should opt-out from Audio ratings if you didn't create the music.
Anyway, congrats for your submission!
Great art style! I think the pixel backgrounds looks good behind the drawn characters (not sure about the tiles, to be honest).
Congrats, it is a nice submission!
Amazing game! I felt some Blasphemous vibes, really cool mood. The gameplay could be polished a bit more, but you have a nice base. The web version works a bit laggy and sometimes only played the music (this was maybe related to changing it to fullscreen, but I'm not sure).
Incredible polished game. The art is just lovely. Congrats!
Nice submission! I think the movement is too slippy and that makes it hard to play. The sounds in general are really cool.
Congrats!
Cool aesthetics and effects (like the scroll of the screen). The gameplay could be polished a bit more, but it's ok in general. Congrats!
Pretty good and solid game! The escape mechanic (waiting for the rope/hook) is a nice touch. Congrats!
Interesting game, congrats! I think you could add some in game tutorial to explain each pill, it was a bit hard to understand without the description.
Great submission, amazing art! The player control is pretty fun. Also it feels really polished, congrats! I would just check for the checkpoints (it's really frustrating to do big chunks if you died a few times), or maybe adding some kind of health system.
Nice idea, solid submission! It doesn't feel too hard, which is great for a jam game. The only basic change I would do is adding some animation when you hit the word (like showing the full word in green and then fade both the word and the ring/figure).
BTW, please go and rate other submissions to get more ratings/feedback, you still have a few days to go and it's definitely doable.
Congrats!
Great idea, good submission! It was a bit hard to understand, but it was pretty fun after that. Congrats!
Amazing game, it feels great when you understand what to do. Congrats!
Great take on the theme! I had some issues with the UI scale on Chrome on macOS, but it was fun to play. Congrats!
@joh yeah, it's working fine now!
Nice submission! I liked the idea but maybe it should be shorter, or at least the latest mechanics should appear sooner.
Nice idea and great execution, congrats!
Funny mechanic and nice implementation. Good submission, congrats!
Amazing game, lovely art and animation! The mechanics are nice but feel just a bit frustrating sometimes.
I really like it (and I'm not a big fan of text adventures), congrats! Didn't have any major issue with the WebGL version. The only thing I would add is the full history of commands (or at least more than the last one). Oh, and maybe a tab for autocomplete hah.
Amazing game, it feels incredible to play! Congrats!
I would try to improve the tutorial to explain a bit more about the game, mainly the score system (maybe avoid going deeper with all the interactions but doing a few more rounds without all the tiles? I'm not really sure).
Congrats, this is a great submission! The art and aesthetics are great.
I agree with some other comments: it's too hard. Enemies are hard to beat and souls are hard to harvest, so it's a bit frustrating to choose between fighting enemies and getting more souls (which is also hard because they spawn far away from the wain). Maybe the souls could be harvested with just one hit? Maybe adding some time between _waves_? (at first I said "hey, this is a tower defense!" and then I was really surprised about not having _waves_ and time between them hah).
I loved it, great submission!
I really liked this game, the idea is great and the art feels awesome (sadly there's no music).
I also think you did a nice job with the "tutorial", the only thing that I didn't get was the ability to select any previous node again to create a new path (I had to read the instructions because it was weird to me that never kept the last one selected haha).
Even though I never was near to win it, I think you have a solid base for a game, just need some balancing (something I learnt from previous jams is that it's better to have an easy game that a real hard one, so if you're running out of time or don't have anyone to do play testing, just make it easier).
Once again, great game. Congrats for your submission!
Wow, this game is incredible! One of my favourites from this jam so far!
It's amazing how much content did you managed to put in this. I loved the art style and the implementation. The monsters are great.
As some feedback, I struggled a few seconds trying to understand where do you get upgrades/defend the dome. Maybe some text indicator for the first use could be nice. Also, after dying one time, the second run was darker (like if some light value was not reset properly).
Once again, congrats!
Nice game! I think you have a good base to polish as a post jam version.
Some assorted feedback: - The controls are a bit weird (because you aim with the mouse but then move fixed with WASD). - The next wormhole is usually pretty close to your origin. - Sometimes you have enemies too close to your new spawn point. - The camera is sometimes unreliable (specially when going down).
In general it's a good submission, congrats!
Incredible fun game, great submissions. Congrats!
The art is so cool and cute! Great submission, congrats!
Nice submission, interesting concept!
Great game, I loved the aesthetics! The progression feels cool. Congrats!
Really cool submission and nice idea. Congrats!
Nice game, good submission!
As some feedback, try to make the UI bigger (looks like it's not scaling properly) and maybe adding some pulsing effects to show important information (like when you're running out of oxygen).
I loved this! It feels really good, and the art and music are great. Congrats!
Just as a small feedback, I think sometimes the camera should show a bit more of the upcoming terrain (I shoot blindly a few times hah).
Wow, this is an amazing game, congrats!
Great game, very polished! Congrats!
Nice game and pretty interesting mechanics, congrats!
Wow, I loved this game, definitely one of my favourites from this jam.
Just to mention some good stuff: the lovely art, the cool zoom in/out animation and the cute story.
Congrats!
Great aesthetics and take on the theme, it was really a touching experience. Congrats!
Nice game! I just felt the progression was a bit slow, that could be improved for a post jam version.
Congrats for your submission!
Nice game, loved the art and general aesthetics! I had a few issues with the rope (like if it was stuck at the same level of the player) but other than that it's pretty enjoyable, congrats!
Nice game! I loved the work on the mole sprite (having the shovel on its back, etc).
I would recommend adding more keys to the controls, using S to dig and something like J/K/L to attack (so you can keep one hand for WASD and the other to attack).
This is definitely the best game I played on this jam. Congrats!
Nice game! I like the mechanics and implementation.
I wasn't able to finish it (I felt like the order to pick everything was too defined or maybe just the upgrade path, I'm not sure) but I had a fun time! Maybe you could add some small coins spawning near the surface on every reset? That way, if you're having troubles to get something valuable, at least you can try reaching the next upgrade by collecting those coins.
Anyway, congrats for your submission!
I really enjoyed playing this game, the main mechanic was pretty easy to understand and control. The art and music are great too.
If you're thinking about a post jam version, maybe you could add some enemies. Also, I think this could really work in a 9:16 aspect ratio as a mobile game
Congrats for your submission!
Nice submission, interesting concept! It felt a bit weird when I got to some end for the story (I think?) but didn't have any visual clue about that.
Fun game, congrats for your submission!
Nice game! I had some issues with the attack not responding to the input and the camera following the player from behind (instead of showing more information about what's coming), but overall it is a good submission. Congrats!
Your game looks really good and the music is amazing. I agree with the last comment about the need of balance on the gameplay, however I found it fun to play. Congrats!
I played the web build from itch.io, so I assume it's the jam version.
I really liked the atmosphere, but I couldn't pass the first elevator. I don't understand if I need to dodge the blue things (which is really hard on that small place) or what.
However, I think the idea (from what I imagine and read from other comments) is cool, so keep working on it. Congrats for the submission!
@franciszek-pyrc sorry, I just tried again and I think I choose some words poorly, because the game is full of elevators haha. I meant the first elevator with a yellow triangle on top, like the first one (probably) that you need to manually activate.
Very fun game, the player controller was a bit tricky but satisfactory to use. Congrats!
Really cool game. I had some troubles trying to destroy the walls, I'm not sure what was going on with the collisions, but in general the controls felt pretty nice. Congrats!
I loved the combat system! I think you created a great base for something bigger, keep working on it!
Great game, nice art! I had fun playing it, congrats for your submission!
Nice and peaceful game, congrats!
Nice game, I had fun playing it! The camera perspective looks really good. Congrats!
@binaryprinciple I think we both had the same idea about the perspective instead of going full 2D hah, I'm glad you liked ours too!
This is nice submission, hope you find time to finish it for a post jam version! The 3D models are great (specially the ones at deeper locations). I would try to add some _water sounds_ and maybe even some quiet music.
Great art and solid game, congrats!
Amazing art! I think the setback after being hit by an enemy is too long, it kind of breaks the flow in my opinion.
I really like this idea! I think you could add a cool down for the fire button, to make it more challenging.
Lovely art and music! I struggled a bit with the controls, but it's a great submission.
I really enjoyed playing this game (once I started to use the slow motion a lot), it's a great submission!
Maybe, for a post jam version, I would add some combo system and limiting the slow motion time (this way you aim the player to use the slow motion but also make it something that needs to be managed).
Pretty interesting idea, nice take on the theme!
Really cool submission! I had fun playing it and enjoyed the learning curve for the glide/parachute mechanic. Congrats!
Really cool game, congrats!
If you have plans for a post jam version, I would suggest to apply the selected ability to the upcoming dice when you tap it (leaving the option to drag it for others strategies).
Lovely art and nice mechanics, congrats!
Great game! Lovely art, nice idea and really solid implementation. Congrats!
Nice submission, great ambience!
As a small improvement, I would make the smallest circle of light a bit bigger, because it's like playing blind.
Nice game, loved the art but struggled a bit with the controls. Congrats!
Nice and fun experience, congrats!
This is a nice submission! The art is definitely great.
I think there're a few roughness that could be improved for a post jam version (for example, I didn't realize I could hurt the enemies with the pickaxe, because when I tried nothing changed until they died) but it general it's pretty solid, congrats!
Lovely art, it was pretty moody and it definitely touches _a thing_ on these times. Great submission, congrats!
This is an incredible game, congrats! It's pretty relaxing but still have challenge and fun. I loved it!
Nice submission! I really liked the audio. The fixed camera was a bit annoying sometimes. Congrats!
I'm pretty bad playing this kind of real-world-space-physics games hah, but it feels pretty good!
I would try to make things easier at first (somehow) to flat the difficulty curve.
First at all, you definitely created something amazing for being 14, so keep pushing on that!
The take on the theme is very creative, which is always a nice thing for jams. The player controller feels good too.
Hope to see you again on next jams, congrats for your submission!
This was a really nice and smooth game, congrats!
As a small feedback, some jumps felt a bit like leaps of faith (maybe you could fix this by allowing the player to move the camera a bit).
The characters look amazing, congrats!
Great submission, specially for Compo, congrats!
Nice game! I really liked the take on the theme but it was a bit confusing at first because I was going deeper on almost every piece of food I got, so I didn't feel that "hey, you need to look for more food to keep going" (which is pretty clear a few levels after). Maybe you could just increase a bit the minimum weight for the first few levels.
Overall a cool submission, congrats!
Nice game! I think the art it's great. The SFX could have a bit less of volume. It's fun to play.
I'm not sure if this is a bug or intended behaviour, if I go quickly to the bottom, I lost. I think it could be nicer if you just move the camera quickly and make the player face the consequences of moving too fast (hitting enemies that they couldn't see earlier, for example).
Nice game! I liked the mechanic of balancing between life and mental, and how losing mental affected the experience, it was a really cool touch. Congrats!
@strangeryann thank you so much! Sadly we don't really have too many extras/insights to share with you, it was a well paced development with almost no early stages.
Good luck with the stream!
@phlebas the flashlights allow you to flip a card before moving to it (you need to select it in order to use it). I think we definitely failed with the communication there.
@kr4ft3r yes, the transitions could be way smoother, I just realized that. Thanks for your feedback!
@franciszek-pyrc thanks for your feedback! most of the things you said were left out of scope sadly, but we'll keep them in mind. BTW, I want to play your game too but don't have any Windows at the moment, hope to do it soon!
Thanks everyone for playing it!
@msipp27 we tried to keep the balance simple, we kind of have that idea in mind but didn't make it in time. Thanks for the feedback!
And thanks everybody for playing, rating and commenting it!
Thank you all for the feedback! We're already working on a post jam version :rocket:
@oadt battles are random in both cases, but with the harpoon you got like 80% chances to win. Also we're doing some adjustments for the post jam version to reduce the sensation of the RNG even more.
Thank you all for the great feedback and your nice comments
Nice game! Probably you wanted to add a shop and use the money for that, but didn't make it on the scope of the jam. I think you could even add some turrets or drones to help you out.
Congrats for your submission!
Nice game! I think it's a cool baseline to add more stuff (like power ups or more enemies). Congrats!
Lovely art and solid game, congrats!
Nice idea, it was pretty relaxing to watch.
Great game! I enjoyed playing it and loved the effect when vanishing ghosts or the other things. Congrats!
Incredible art, music and aesthetics. Great submission, congrats!
I love everything about this game but the gameplay feels like it could have a bit more of polish and balance (like the movement of the player and the enemies). But I think it's an amazing submission, congrats!
Interesting concept, I had some issues with the scroll while pressing up/down, but it was fun to play.
Nice game! Good scope for a jam, congrats!
Great game! It took me a bit to understood it (even after reading the tutorial hah) but eventually it was good to go. Congrats!
Really nice art style! I had a bad time figuring out the diagonal jump using the dash, and it's kind of weird that you cannot see your own HP during combat
Anyway, it's a good submission, congrats!
Great submission! I loved the aesthetics and the music.
Maybe you could try to make a bit more clearer where the sides are going to end? I think that, at some point, my brain understood that but at first it was a bit frustrating.
Did you consider trying this as a mobile game? I think it could work (and shouldn't be too hard to try, at least on Android, with Godot). It's a bit sad that they still have those bugs with the sounds on the web exports.
