I loved it! Movement and presentation feel so polished!
Great concept and execution. This could really be expanded and made into a fully fledged puzzle adventure. Amazing use of colour and a simple square. Big props!
Neat and simple and complete! I like it. Once one of the levels so cunningly forced me to think about it how to choose where to go, it wasn't that hard to finish.
Bonus points for using Rust. Seems to use pure OpenGL/WebGL. Cool, I suppose.
Showing the goal right at the beginning (and again in case you missed it) was brilliant. The ending is hilarious. :) Very well done!
I liked how it sort of was like get over it, as when you failed, you had to start from pretty far at the beginning
Great job! It blows my mind when I realize the direction matters. That changes everything! The visual effect of going into the next stage is awesome. Overall, it's an amazing work as a compo game!
Really liked this! If you expand on this you could create the most convoluted puzzles xD. Don't know what I can say that is negative, perhaps there's a way to make the "boxes" more visable? Good job and good luck.
Cool concept, really innovative. For me the character was a bit hard to control, but could be me, I'm really not into platformers. Great job!
This was a very nice experience! Liked that it didn't need much explanation, very elegant. Good job!
Really cool game love the concept of recursion and nice ending with the infite fish maze. Really great concept!
Love it!! The recursion feels so natural :)
Very cool puzzle gimmick with chill music and satisfying controls. It was immediately understandable thanks to the color-coding of the mazes. I thought it was also a nice touch that you showed where the goal is right up front, that gave me something to work towards and avoided making the game feeling aimless. Great job!
Very nice puzzle mechanic! I enjoyed this game a lot!
This is a neat idea! There isn't a lot to the audio or visuals but what is here is good. I like how clean the transition is between boxes, and considering how much it happens it's important to get it right. The gameplay felt good, but it was hard to tell what I was supposed to be doing at times because I could barely see into the small boxes. Overall this is a great entry!

Very good job!
Really good job, the puzzle is a really interesting mechanic and a great take on the theme.
My only real complaint is that it can be a bit harsh, a couple of spots will knock you all the way back to the start if you fail, which can be a bit too frustrating.
Overall a really good game, especially for a compo entry.
Very cool game!
I really liked the main mechanic. Nice use of the colors to foreshadow the different levels!
Maybe the weakest part for me were the controls, it was kind of hard to land exactly on the upper part of the blocks.
Great job!
Wow, this is one of the best compo games I've played so far in this LD! Only thing I might change if I were you is that one wrong turn can ruin a lot of progress for the player. Maybe it would be even more fun if the levels themselves are a bit more challenging, but the player is never reset so far back?
But otherwise, very well done!
I really love the mechnic where levels are connected via one way transitions and yet their succession is not linear.
Platforming puzzles were pretty well done, with the exceptin when you need to land on the top of the transition block.
Fin! Bravo, an excellent concept. The colors and miniature map layouts make the mechanics clear very fast. I would love if it was a bit longer, but for a jam entry, and a proof-of-concept of the mechanic, it's great.
Oh, and it's written in Rust? Very cool!
Cool stuff, strongly reminded me of Patrick's Parabox which I assume has been a strong influence. It would be nice if you had credited this creator inspiration, but maybe my assumtion is just wrong. Had a good time nonetheless!
@minotalen never heard of it, looks cool though!
Wow, this is an awesome game with a great idea and a solid execution. The technical details look amazing too, incredible for a Compo. Congrats for your submission!
@healthire guess sometimes it happens that games are weirdly similar! Sorry for complaining then. I really like what you did with the game mechanic, the restriction of only being able to go deeper makes it suit the theme well.
This game is built on a really solid idea--the recursive maze is easy to understand and quite a bit of fun to solve. The execution of this idea is also quite good. The graphics are clean, and their simplicity aids nicely in recognizing the individual maze screens.
The incorporation of platforming challenges where the failure state was going backwards in the maze was, I thought, a very nice usage of the different mechanics.
My only real criticism is that, the one point where I had to jump on top of a maze-entrance block, it was surprisingly difficult to land right on top of it. I think the platforming physics could be adjusted a little bit just to make them control really smoothly, as there's no real need for difficult platforming physics in this game, I don't think.
really cool! great use of the theme :) I bet I would have found making mistakes too punishing if this were a bigger game, but it worked well in a game of this size; I enjoyed it a lot! really cute ending too -- not what I expected but it fits excellently
Really like that mechanic! Only sad it was so short, or maybe I just got lucky 😅 Might be down to the shortness preventing me from really finding out too, but I did feel like I didn't think very much, I kind of just hopped around until I suddenly found the goal, so maybe there's some extra ingredient that could really elevate this. The implementation is really cool, and once I realised the side you enter the boxes from mattered, even more so. I guess that's where the thinking mainly came into it. The movement feels good, the character with animations is charming, and the music is nice and relaxing!
On the one hand, this is a really *clever* mechanic, and a good fit for the theme. On the other hand, the way the puzzle interacts with the platforming is often frustrating. I wish there was a "go back one room" or "go to last checkpoint" functionality. Basically, I agree with @honey-pony.
Also this reminds me of _Recursed_ and _Inside a Star-Filled Sky_. Were they your inspirations?

Thanks for the feedback! I'm surprised the platforming turned out too difficult because I thought I tuned it to be on the easier side and I consider the controls pretty tight. It's very easy to make it too hard though, after hours of testing you get really good at the controls. This seems like a consistent problem with LD games, especially platformers. Hard to get it right without external play testers!
I felt the punishing failure conditions were okay because the game is so short, and none of the rooms were (I thought) particularly challenging.
I don't think it was (consciously) inspired by any particular game. I just saw the theme and knew I wanted to do something recursive. This was the first idea that came to mind.
EDIT: Okay looking through it again there is one particularly mean room that sends you back to the beginning if you fail what is probably the hardest jump in the game. I would probably change that one.
 Hi there! This game has been featured on the GitHub Blog: [Ludum Dare 48 staff picks](https://github.blog/2021-05-19-ludum-dare-48-staff-picks/#micronaut)

It appears to be very good, and I enjoy what you've written. [UNO Online](https://unoonline.co) is one of the best card games ever created, and it is available for free. You must match the colour or number of any card in your hand with the card at the top of the discard pile. If you are unable to discard any of the cards in your hand, draw a new card. Use wild cards or action cards to gain an advantage or stymie your opponents' progress.
