A short , but nice game . I think it's a bit repetitive , and I think the timer is broken ...

GG it's short but still good  I recommend it !
A little bit short, but has a great mood.
Good game.
Like all the others: too fast but funny and there is some gliches
It's a really cool idea of balancing your life and your mental stability using the power-ups. The graphics are also quite nice and the backgrounds look very surreal and combined with the music, has a great atmosphere. I think the jump can be adjusted so that your character falls quicker after reaching the apex, that way it feels more precise and less floaty where you want to go. I also wish the power-ups were more distinct from the background, sometimes I wouldn't see it until it was too late. But otherwise this was a great game and I enjoyed my time with it!
Ca se finit rapidement, mais c'est sympa la mécanique consistant à bien faire la balance power up/ mental health.
Short, but cool
Short and nice game! Interesting game loop with balancing between life and mental, I didn't get it first but game over text helped a lot mostly in french  It's a good base but it could be improved adding more game feel: jump could be more juicy, maybe it's too slow we don't have the good feeling of jumps like in plate-former. But I really appreciate the work on your animation and sounds that's a really good point and make your experience more immersive. Great job and keep going!
Nice concept there! Nice mood too, but the background was a little distracting for me. Set a nice mood aswell! Nice work!
thanks for having test the game and thanks for your comments !! we will improve the game following your advices !
Le thème est plutôt classique mais j'ai franchement aimé le style, surtout l'animation du magicien (magicienne?). Le concept de choisir entre HP et Santé Mental est cool. Good effort :)
Congrats on your first game jam! Played on stream, you can take a look at the VOD https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1005214987?t=02h27m34s
It feels like the game definitely nailed some of the atmosphere the backstory set up! The enemy sprites were also really nice. Good work!
Pretty cool idea. The audio was well put together throughout the game. The art need to be blended together a bit more but still really cool aesthetic. Thanks for making the game! Was fun playing through it :)
I am win. 26.94. ez
Hey matey, thanks for submitting your game to stream! I enjoyed playing it, here's the vod, I hope the feedback helps!

Played this game on the [stream](https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1007202934?t=02h01m47s). The game is very small, but has a special charm. It is awesome as the first LD entry! Nice job guys, best of luck! :)
thanks for the game! Some of the sprites (like the powerups) were hard to see. The tradeoff between powering up and dying is a really neat idea, and the player sprite is really nice

It was short but sweet! Interesting dual resource mechanics. Good job for your first game jam! <3
Short but fun!! The idea of weighing your mental health against your physical is a cool idea. The psychedelic level art really emphasizes the decent into MADNESS. The music is great and goes well with the pixel art style. I think I might be the world record speed runner of this game!! Thank you so much for bringing this by my stream. Very cool character design. fun game with cool art style. Good job.
Cool visual direction! I didn't read carefully and died when i collected every powerup, but a second play through I got the hang of it. good job <3
Nice game! I liked the mechanic of balancing between life and mental, and how losing mental affected the experience, it was a really cool touch. Congrats!

This was a fun little experience, and we had a good time trying to complete it as fast as we could
It would be nice if there were some kind of way to tell when the next level was coming, but other than that I had no problems with this one.
The idea is really cool, I like where you were going with this! The character is very well drawn and its design is really good, although I feel like a few of the backgrounds were a little odd because the style didn't go that well with the art style of the character. The colors changing on loop was a good idea since it's a cave of hallucinations but it was a little hard on the eye. Maybe some other effect like the background distorting slowly could have worked better?
Overall the game was fun to play, I liked the aesthetic and the music, and the idea was great, so good job!
Very nice game for speedrunning! The "levels" are not really hard, so it is easy to focus on getting to the final scene as fast as possible. If you dont go for a speedrun approach, however, this game is way too easy. Maybe adding in more enemies in more dangerous clusters could have improved the game a lot. Overall, a very nice game with a great underlying idea!
congrats for your game. I hope to see you in next ludum.
Fun game. I feel like it was a little too zoomed in though. The music was also nice!
Thank you for your comments and your feedback, we will improve the game by following your advice.
@andyem We are sorry that the background hurt your eyes, we will follow your advice to improve the color change.
I had fun playing. I wasn't sure if the power ups were good or not. I kept dying after picking them up and wasn't sure what benefit they were, so I found it was best to just avoid them all. Player and monster are looks good and music was nice too. I think it would be cool if there was a little heads up on the level transitions, they happen suddenly.
Maybe the camera its too close from character, music is nice, also the graphics. good game congrats.
Unfortunately my Timer broke, so I finished the Game in 0 Seconds. ;)
The GAme is to much zoomed in and the levelchange is pretty weird.
Regarding your powerup mechanic i woul recomed maybe some more depth, like a way to balance Health and Mental more instead just have the One Way Mechanic where you just have to avoid powerups. Maybe different Powerups for Health and Mental and different enemies which damake one of the both.
In general a great Job that you finished the Game and submitted in. Well Done Good Job
@deathstorm Hello, first of all our apologies for the problem of the chronometer, we are surprised that this problem reappears despite the update 1.3.1
Thank you for your return, we will make every effort to improve the game
I had the opportunity to play your game on stream :) Here is a link to the correct place in the video: https://www.youtube.be/watch?v=Sx1MQ445u7k&t=14040s
Your will find my review in french in the video.
To resume it here in english: You had a really fun game, the character sprite is really cute and the controls are easy to use. It was a bit confusing to understand what is the benefit of picking up the power-up. I understood they value they changed in the ui but not what was the gameplay benefit of more mana. On a last note, the flashing background color could be a bit more pastel. It's nice to indicate the level of craziness of your character with a background that change color, but the colors you pick are too saturated and can bother the eyes a bit.
Overall, this was really fun, even though it was vey short.
As promised, I have played the game on-stream, although it's been two weeks since I've made that promise.

In summary, I thought the game had an interesting idea, but it wasn't presented in a way that made said idea interesting for me. It first attempts to subvert the idea that power-ups are almost always good. Unfortunately, that's nothing new for most players: even in games like Super Mario Bros. series, I naturally end up deliberately skipping power-ups I don't like. Second, it asks the player to balance between two meters: health and sanity. Since collecting a power-up recovers all health, though, for a number-crunching player, these meters look less like a resource balancing act, and more like just an extension of the classical health bar. For example, I would argue with the inclusion of power-ups, each sanity unit can be equated to 2 units of health. Since the player starts with 3 health and 3 sanity, and reducing the sanity down to 0 is game over, that means the player has 2 x 3 = 6 units of health. And so I end up treating these units as just a representation of 6 units of health. That...doesn't seem like the intent, given the description of the game.
I think the idea of increasing power having a serious cost -- often known as risk vs. reward -- is a good goal to have, and a lot of great games can emerge from testing the limits of that balancing act. With more thought and time, I'm sure this game can create something more engaging with its premise. As it is, though, I felt like it was a beginner's platformer game: gravity is too low, jump isn't very high, camera doesn't have a look-ahead system so platforming has a lot of blind jumps, enemy encounters are slow and easily skippable, etc.
Thank you for letting me play this on stream (forever ago)! [Here's that clip](https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1007876502?t=1h28m30s) in case you ever want to rewatch. You chose the sprites well and I appreciate the concept, even though I took a few explosions to accept that the pick-ups were all the same kind of mental- and physical-health-affecting items. And as I pointed out on stream there was some side-snapping with the landing (possibly just on that first platform) that made me feel more like the sudden scene changes weren't really what I was supposed to see. But well done making a very playable game for the jam!
The base platforming seems to work well, you don't get stuck in walls and jump works well. The sound effects are a bit on the loud side, especially compare to the music. You also have to be careful about the background. In the first level the shoots become invisible at some points since you cannot see it on the background color. I think it could be more fun if you could zoom the camera out a bit and then let the player shoot faster, maybe adding a penalty to make the player not want to spam click. Overall it works and plays well.
Thank you very much for all your comments! I learned a lot from them and i am sure that it will help me in my future projects! We will maybe continue the game following your advices and add all the mechanics we could not add during the jam. It was a very nice experiment and i will surely participate to the next ludum dare. see you soon!
