A grand emotional adventure with freaky monsters :O
i knew Jonas and Noa were gonna collab
My favorite part was the story line. I was taking me a bit to finish the game so I'll have to come back to this one and try and complete it, but I loved the controls, and boosting to get away from the big purple creatures. I also was happy that the camera pulled back to let me see more just as I was thinking "man, I wish i could see more."
The voiceacting by Klara and (I guess) Yän is awesome, art is very nice (of course, it is by Btp), exept of the spikes (everything is textured exept of them). Can you play and rate my game too?
What an amazing experience. The art is absolutely stellar. The audio design is so immersive. The cutscenes are great and super charming.
The main gameplay mechanic is so simple, yet effective. It acts as a means to damage, but also makes you go really fast. This also promotes speedrunning of the game which is always a plus.
It was really neat seeing the fish change their expression as they go, even when Bubblyn inflates. I love the initial dopey happy faces they make at the start. So cute!
The camera also adjusts at just the right times for the fast-moving areas and the slow corridors.
There was one moment where there are two spinning eels, and I was wondering what might be their secret? I even returned back there after reaching the end to bring Booba back with me, but still nothing happens. I feel like I'm missing out on some sort of secret... :3
Definitely a candidate for the best game of the jam in my opinion. This is incredibly special. I'm so glad I found and played this!
Great job! Really enjoyed playing through it, the controls felt tight, the art fit well, and the sound was stellar. The level design was also nice. The different paths to get to the destination were neat. My one complaint (it's small) is that I felt maybe a little too strong? Surely some of those big fish can triumph over my love for Booba.
I honestly didn't know how to feel about the ending, RIP Booba. Nice implementation of the theme, and great controls. The game was at a pretty good difficulty, it wasn't hard, but it wasn't so easy as well. Great job with the voice acting as well, really didn't expect that to be in the game. I thought Liam's voice was Noa's voice in the beginning
Honestly what an experience, the game felt amazing as the juice was just fantastic! Had a lot of fun just launching myself out of the water at the start. And it was an emotional experience.
Not sure if there are different endings but think it would've been nice to show a tracker of them (if there are) Amazing work to the whole team, the voice acting was especially brilliant
really cool game very polished the voice acting is great and the graphics are really really good overall 5/5
a game with impressive work. speechless.
Really loved the story and visuals, great game!
The game was really cool but at the end I got mixed up because the music was getting louder in one area and I thought something is there. Can you check out my game please. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/48/lostbrother
Beautiful graphics and sound effects&voice acting were top-notch. Good job!
Very nice graphics. Cool story. So nice and long. Cool places (open light upper water, tight tunnels, camera zooming out, ...). Controls were ok, but not perfect. Game controller would have been nice.
Great game! I loved the voice acting and sound effects, it made me smile :)
Great visuals, and this is the first jam game I've played with on-going dialogue between characters which made me smile. I liked the mechanics as well. Great job!
Awesome graphics, very appropriate sound design and music, the areas felt huge without being so big you get lost and it felt like there was a lot of *depth* to the design. Some very cool environmental storytelling/environment transitions, and I really liked the little extra area around half-way through with the two circling worm fish things that was a nice touch.
Really fun, the best part is once you reach the end you can take your buddy back up through the levels :end:
If this is not a full 5-star game, than nothing is. Graphics are just amazing. I also love the voice acting. Playing this game was a real fun.
Wonderful art style, true to form! I was disappointed I couldn't use the trackpad buttons on my laptop because I cant click both left and right at the same time. Some modification to the control scheme might be worthwhile! The larger fish were truly terrifying when first encountered! I played to the end and thought the story arc was great. No mention of our dead friend at the end though! :/ Great work for a short jam!!!
Just amazing! Everything was very good about the game! The voice acting was funny! The art was beautiful, the sfx were great. But the most important thing was the gameplay! You guys managed to capture the whole theme very well with the adventure. Very good game! 5/5 in all categories for sure
I really did not expect so much content for a jam game. Such a great voice actors you have!
I enjoyed the graphical look of the game, and the story portion with the speaking characters compelled me to play until I finished it. Great work guys!
Oh wow, art direction in this one is something else. So vibrant and colorful, I love it! And I guess I don't need to say anything about the voice-overs and sounds, this is always a no-brainer 5-star audio rating. Oh, and also fun to play! Great work.
I liked the voice acting and the visuals were very nice. The controls also felt really good.
its a really cool experience ! i love the art of your game, good job !
well that was a lot darker than i expected
This game is beautiful! The designs of the enemies and the whole aesthetic is really amazing
Amazing game! Beautiful graphics, intuitive controls, great voice acting and a good story. Had a blast playing it. :D
Well...I did not *sea* it coming... Great game! The graphics are good, voice acting is superb and being able to play only with mouse is a huge plus for me :D
a relly coll game, the graphics are amazing.
looking forword for devlog
absolutely beautiful entry, love the story and voice acting. controls are smooth and graphics are phenomenal as always. Great job to all involved.
The game is great! Amazing gameplay, great graphics, and voice acting is a big plus for the game. 11/10
so goood
Wow, so much great art and voice acting. In such a short time, you nailed it!
@danial-jumagaliyev Thank you for playing and commenting! For your info, neither Liam, nor Noa did any voice-acting on this. The player character Bubblyn was voiced by Jonas' sister Klara and the other two were voiced by me.
@gamesbysaul Thank you very much! There is only one ending. Multiple endings could've been cool but we barely had enough time to finish it with one ending already haha
@tim77 We should probably have enabled some kind of controller option. We actually thought of trackpad users quickly but then didn't pursue that line of thought further for some reason.
I also thought of mentioning Joefish in the ending cutscene but I wanted to end the story on a positive note. I thought, hey they're probably so happy to see each other, they won't think about anything else in that moment and would likely start talking about Joefish at a later point... I'm glad you enjoyed the rest of the story though, especially since I'm not usually a writer :)
Amazing work!
@yaen oh wow. I thout it was Liam's voice for some unknown reason. But props to all of you either way  XD
Really cute game! Surprised to see you guys changed idea halfway through developing, because I chanced upon some art Noa posted at the start of the jam! but Going Down in Fishstory turned out really fantastic as well! It felt juicy to smash into those rock walls and small fish, and I genuinely have to praise the voice acting and storytelling. Simple and straightforward, enough player motivation for me to want to reach to the end no matter what :) The art is great as well, just overall a really solid entry!
i just got so in this game really made me forgot the time and wanted more Nice Work Guys :)
The sounds in the game are divine. I liked humor and mechanic.
@keppersnapper Ah that was actually just Noa's warm up sketch. We did our ideation after he made that one and one of the first things I said was "Let's avoid making a typical mining game" :D
We pretty much stuck with our plan as soon as we had one after our 2 hour ideation phase though.
I appreciate your praise of the story & VO, especially since I'm not normally a writer. So thank you :)
This was a great game. Narration was cool and the mood was spot on, thanks for your work.
I love it, when the title is a good pun - and even better the rest of the game lived up to it  Hilarious voice acting and story, lovely watercolor graphics and the sense of tension when the game zooms in in the scary sections plus the face expressions. I dont have any negatives to say :)
This is our new home:
booba02.png
@ancient-pixel Haha that's great, the hearts make this scene pretty cute, actually. Thank you for playing and leaving such a kind comment :)
really enjoyed everything about this, fantastic work in such a short amount of time. all the extra polish really paid off. congrats!
Very cool, very well-executed! Plays well, is challenging, not punishing The little story is really cool All the dubbing works really well - great work there!
I feel you could have used the real estate of the "the end" logo to show your team's names all over again :) Great stuff! Loved it - well done :D
So I really like your game and I'm streaming Ludum Dare 48 games on saturday with my friend Teauorent on his Twitch channel - https://www.twitch.tv/teauorent - Saturday May 1st 4PM CET First of all - that cool with you? Have a great day, I hope to hear from you soon - thanks for that great moment I spent testing your little nugget of a game, and see you in the chat on saturday I hope
Great gameplay and really well executed story, loved playing it !
@strangeryann Hi there! Sure, I'd love to see you play it. As for behind the scenes materials, I actually streamed parts of the development here: https://youtu.be/AOj-sTuzqc4 and here: https://youtu.be/UoHCNMkvJ98
Other than that, most assets we made made it into the final game, actually. The "Concept art" we had was the level design sketch on our miro board and that's visible in the streams.
Have a great stream :)
Pretty and polished tiny story about tiny fish =) Defintly liked all components of the game : polished mechanics, stylized graphics, great voiceover and nice timing of the stroy - ideal for gamejam! 10 out of ten - would visit again XD
You can tell a good story by this.
Not going to lie, voice over was the best thing out of already great game :)
Okay, so I'm not going to tread any new ground here - this is obviously brilliant stuff. Full product quality, and a lot of love. If I was going to provide any constructive criticism at all it would be this: I wish during the cutscenes I wasn't locked in place. I would understand if the screen was stationary, but I would still like it if I could swim around. I'm sure that's a personal choice, but it made the cut-scenes seem to drag on (even with their wonderful storytelling).
Minor nitpicking aside, seriously great work!
Hands down best ludum dare 48 game. We found the winner guys! This ticks all of the boxes! The art style is incredible! I loved the watercolour aesthetic. It wasn't too hard or too long. Did I mention that it has |VOICE ACTING?! Also the Brrrr sound effect is the cutest thing! It won my heart immediately because of that!
Also that pun title!!!
Wow the art is absolutely stunning. Sound design is incredible/creepy too. A great twist on a "Finding Nemo" style narrative and the voice acting was also a nice touch. One of my favorites so far!
What a wonderful experience, the idea is great, the voice acting was so on point and the gameplay was a lot of fun.
Great game, you are very talented guys.
Good job.
Damn the story hits hard, I love it. It's absolutly beautiful and feels really nice to play. It's lacking a bit on the innovation side of things to get the perfect grade imo, but it's pretty damn close.
Fun game. Nice story. I would be very happy if you would play my game.
@argorum thank you for playing! Glad you enjoyed it :) @pixel-lifetime Thanks a lot! It's cool to see how many people enjoyed our voice acting. I know I was super happy with the delivery we got from Klara and had to try hard to match that quality with my own lines :D @threeli Ah we could have done that but allowing movement opens a whole can of worms: what if there are spikes on screen and you swim into them? Do we just let you die in the middle of a cutscene? Do we have to restart the cutscene? What if you swim off screen? Do we push you back somehow? Do we just let the camera snap back onto you after the cutscene is over? It would've been cool to find solutions for all this but it seems like a lot of scripting would be involved for a minor benefit ^^ Glad you still enjoyed our game though, cheers! :) @heiach Oh I loved the Brbbrbrbrbrs that Klara sent us. Sooo good, we just had to use them! @yorsh I'm happy that you liked the story. Writing isn't usually my strong suit so that's good to know ^^ As it's mostly a linear story-adventure, we decided to focus more on making the experience nice and less on innovating mechanics.
Oh wow. I mean at this point a great jam game is to be expected of you lot, but this one exceeds even my high expectations. I don't really have anything in terms of criticism. The game is gorgeous, the soundscape is great, voice acting and writing is pretty good. The game controls well, is fun, creative and I never felt lost as what to do.
Just high marks all around!
I wasn't prepared for the horror theme and story. It's rare to get a ludum dare game with voice acting. Good job!
I was fully unprepared for this to be a horror game
@charliegray Thank you very much for all the kind words :) Glad you liked our game!
@maytch @wanooknox Thanks for playing & commenting. Things do be spooky in the deep sea.
This is Insane! Almost Perfect for everything, except I would like more combat options... but for a game made in 72 hours!!! This is a great example of how good team can achieve even in a short period of time
A rather nice little adventure game. Kudos to all of you for the amount of work put into this. For what the game is and for what it was trying to be, I don't really have any complaints other than just a few nitpicks lol. Great job on this. Although I kinda wish the fish had animations. I know it's Blackthornprod's art style but some animations would have really helped. Either way though, Amazing presentation. While the actual story was nice, I felt that the ending was a little too abrupt. Voice acting was great though lol ( Even though one or two lines felt a little forced IMO XD ). Controlling the fish was very satisfying and responsive. Great entry
I love this game! It's amazing how much you guys were able to do in such a short amount of time.
Fantastic game! Great art, soundscape, story. Loved it!
Amazing game! Congratulation!
Good job! I liked the audio and humor, they were really good!
I really like this game! The inflating mechanic is simple and fun and executed very well. The art style is very nice and it's overall a fun game. I also love the voice acting. My only issue was that it's not possible to play on a trackpad, and I had to find a normal mouse to play it, but that could be solved simply by having a keyboard alternative for inflating along with right click. Otherwise this was a very enjoyable experience!
Great game, impossible to play on a trackpad though :( Rest in peace Joe-fish, and I liked the dynamic changing of the faces for the fishy cast
Absolutely **loved** this game! Stunningly beautiful graphics, awesome audio and voiceovers, and perfect gameplay. A real joy to play! Brilliant work!
I usually don't like Noah's art style, but this game is so awesome. Top quality voice acting, visuals and the charge mechanic feels so good. Such a polished game! Probably my favorite so far. The camera zoom does a great job for the atmosphere.
Ohh man, i can't put to words how much I love your game.
The art is just fantastic. I was even sad that i can't explore more in this world :D
The gameplay feels really cool, too. As I realized i can dash forever I was just racing through the whole level. This as a multiplayer game would be fun too xD
The sound design and the voices are pretty well, too. Sometimes you notice that some sentences arent as fluid, but overall crazily good!
It's just nice to see, what a team of talented people can get done in such a short time!
Great jam! The art is fantastic. The voice acting and sounds are great! Really nice jam!
Snipaste_2021-05-04_22-16-10.png so nice ; and when I see the picture and art style l; I wander if is draw by blackthorn and it is true; nice controller system and never fell long to finish all stiry ; that is my top 5 games in this event ;nice job
@olddog You are right! Art is mostly done by Noa from Blackthornprod :) Thank you very much for leaving such a kind comment!
Not only the art style is gorgeous, the camera movement also creates beautiful settings and sense of spaces. Combined with the audio, the game has a fantastic mood. Just the right amount of ominous and wonder. Really nice to also have a cute story with likeable characters!
The game mechanics are also fun. Never too hard, yet never too boring. It's just pleasant to control. Congratulation!
Omg the art is so cute! The voice overs are really fun, and all the little effects are great polish (like the bubbles behind your character, and the screenshake etc when you make yourself bigger). Using frequent auto save points instead of say a life system was good too - fits with the laid back atmosphere of the game.
Was a lot of fun to play - absolutely love this game :D

This game is superb! I really loved everything about it, and I honestly don't have too much feedback. Really impressive amount of work in just 72 hours. Fish!
Really cool game. I had some troubles trying to destroy the walls, I'm not sure what was going on with the collisions, but in general the controls felt pretty nice. Congrats!
wtf. 72hours. wtf. Level design and progression is insanely polished wtf. and shaders. and mood.. and what voice acting... whaaat. great job
This is fantastic! I loved the entire experience and by that I mean this game made me feel several emotions with the plot and atmosphere while I was playing. The voice acting and characters were so likable! Level and sound design are flawless. Both made the player see the progression of the story very well. And about the art, collisions, player movement and skill... Well, all pretty polished. Great game! For sure one of my favorites from LD48.
Great voice acting and general vibe! The controls were smooth and fun as well and it was cool to explore deeper and deeper. Felt like a lofi and a bit creepier Finding Nemo. The amount of stuff and different enememies in this is really impressive for a jam game.
It did get a bit difficult for me in the end, but overall a great entry!
Such an awesome game for a 72h game jam. I particularly loved the sense of wonder as I was exploring the deep ocean. The attention to detail in the FX and the game feel was so on point. I felt like the animations and sound effects could have required more polish, but honestly, that's to a minor extent looking at the amount produced in 72h. Insane. Great stuff!
Great job! I loved the artstyle and sound effects.
Just generally fantastic. The art was great as always, the full voice acting was as lot of fun, the atmosphere was perfect, and the mechanics were simple yet enjoyable.
Great game, well implemented, and the voice acting is really really nice overall. I'm not 100% sure on the change from something pretty cute to something dark and dense, as it did strike me a little too odd, but that's about my preferences and not something necessarily wrong. Anyway, good job!
The animation and voice acting are amazing! I really like the movement mechanics, the game itself is a bit short but I can for sure see this growing into a bigger game! The speed up is super satisfying, congrats on making such a cute and awesome game!
