LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Drilbert by wheybags 2021-04-27T13:57:44Z

This is a cool mix of movement rules (move, blocking, taking earth, putting earth, blocking entry, oxygen move, move blocks, ...). I had to think twice or three times in some of the levels. That is good, as often puzzle games of this type tend to be too easy. I like the pixel graphics, very consistent and nice colors. And so many levels for a game jam!

Addict. by SachaY 2021-04-27T14:57:42Z

Very nice visuals. The music does fit well. The controls are a bit fiddly (e.g. space for jump would have helped me. Or better controller support.

Going Down in Fishstory by Jonas Tyroller 2021-04-27T15:14:39Z

Very nice graphics. Cool story. So nice and long. Cool places (open light upper water, tight tunnels, camera zooming out, ...). Controls were ok, but not perfect. Game controller would have been nice.

Protocol B.E.P by Vitor Milioni 2021-04-29T17:39:45Z

Great graphics. Controls are fuzzy. Why having different buttons for attack and collect, why any for collect at all and one to enter doors - makes it complicated.

Deep Dive by CodeForJoyCaro 2021-04-26T17:03:20Z

The game has such a nice mood!!! I love the aesthetics. And the surprise at the end.

Aquanaut by EvilScotsman 2021-04-27T14:06:22Z

Best game I played in this game jam. Graphics are perfect. Bosses are cool. Good it is possible to recover health. Only thing: Controls are fiddly. I must admit I play normally with controller. For this game twin-stick controls would be perfect.

OBLIGATE ANAEROBE UT ALTIUS by Itzemii 2021-04-28T11:30:57Z

@gilborn: Thank you! The controls (keyboard, controller, mouse) so far did work on WebGL in different browsers, on Win and on Mac. On what platform did you play?

OBLIGATE ANAEROBE UT ALTIUS by Itzemii 2021-04-28T11:31:37Z

@mortalslayer24: Thank you!

OBLIGATE ANAEROBE UT ALTIUS by Itzemii 2021-04-28T11:32:07Z

@timbertoes: Thank you! Happy you enjoyed the game!

OBLIGATE ANAEROBE UT ALTIUS by Itzemii 2021-04-28T11:34:42Z

@deepinthewoods: Thank you! I was not sure about the sound, good to hear you liked them. Good point with the colors. After the jam I will update the game to make it clearer (I will add level progression, where first you only have red ones). The mouse controls are too sensitive in the current version, I had adapted them to game pad controller axis, and for the mouse I did not do special one. I have to adapt it for an update.

OBLIGATE ANAEROBE UT ALTIUS by Itzemii 2021-04-28T11:36:04Z

@profan: Thank you! I see, I have to make the mechanics clearer. I will update the game after the jam to have some progression making the mechanics clearer to the player (I hope).

OBLIGATE ANAEROBE UT ALTIUS by Itzemii 2021-05-07T18:04:13Z

@icefallgames Thank you for playing. I see, I have to make the mechanics clearer. I will update the game after the jam to have some progression making the mechanics clearer to the player (I hope).

OBLIGATE ANAEROBE UT ALTIUS by Itzemii 2021-05-07T18:05:14Z

@ripter Thank you for playing. Sorry for the controller issues. The mouse controls are broken on some platforms. Keyboard and joypad should work.

LD49 — Unstable

And still the fire burns by Erkberg 2021-10-07T15:23:46Z

Playing it makes me sad. I tried to somehow rescue the other animals (besides the two) ... Very nicely told story with the camera movement!!! Emotionally this game touched me. The fire getting closer and tighter up front. And reliefed I made it to the big tree (only one, but at last). And very good music!

That stable looks pretty unstable by pcmaster 2021-10-07T14:44:19Z

You hit the theme twice: "unstable stable" is great. Very clean and nice implementation. Very enjoyable. Nothing to be improved. Congratulations!

Very Shifty Code by loyance 2021-10-09T19:35:04Z

This was a surreal experience. Your app is very unstable. But I see, you had a lot of new bugs introduced in later versions. Great change-log. Fun!

Silex by tigerfinch 2021-10-16T19:15:54Z

Nice little game. Clear what to do (I first did not notice that I can drive over water). Very good for a coompo!

Project Stallion / Zherebets Proyekta by dob 2021-10-07T15:48:34Z

Very solid base idea. And well implemented. It was fun. I forgot time while playing. A lot of references of the commentator I did not understand, but funny the ones I did understand. Good, really. First game I was in the flow and forgot everything around!!!

Curse of Apep by cogcomp 2021-10-07T19:52:01Z

This game has such a great atmosphere! It feels like "real": a little plastic guy/ figure in a surreal toy land which defies gravity. The sound is very repetitive, but even in all the minutes this was no problem. The glitchiness somehow fits very well ... the game and the ludum dare theme.

Catastrophic Journey by Abregado 2021-10-04T15:34:27Z

I really enjoyed this game. A really good idea, implemented in an enjoyable game. A few little hick-ups. But overall really good.

free fall by ruthiepee 2021-10-16T19:10:10Z

I love this experience! Calm, relaxing. Not thinking, just painting green. And the seasons pass by. Even in parallel: green and yellow and brown and red ... Fascinated. And very nicely implemented! Congratulations! One of my favourites!

Unstable Medicine by loveapplegames 2021-10-09T16:10:01Z

Nice idea. And adding different side effects make it more interesting. It was a bit challenging actually hitting humans with the needle.

Teeter Hero by Strega 2021-10-10T19:31:38Z

Close to perfect! Congratulations! This does not feel like a game jam game but a production game! Great graphics! Great music! Great animations! Cleanly implemented! Just the game mechanics balancing could be a bit better, as it starts already difficult and gets more difficult. For a beginner it would be helpful to be a bit more forgiving in respect to the instability of the bus. But as said for a game jam game: PERFECT!

Beep Boop Boba by candlesan 2021-10-04T15:46:36Z

I had a lot of fun. But first I did not recognize that the customers ordered special things. I oversaw the symbols. But then I noticed. And the levels became stressfull, as it should be in these kind of games. I created a few wrong orders: may be a trash bin, because I got stuck. It felt there was a must order in the delivery, I had some orders finished for the second customer but it got rejected, I did not see correctly. Really nice!

Dream Dog Dilemma by potatolain 2021-10-06T12:01:26Z

Impressive for a compo. How many layers are there, 4? First game with more than one layer I play. Cool. A bit unclear some times what the layer impacts (deadly enemies, passable tiles). I felt like some times the zombie (blinking humans) did not kill me.

Unlevel by NicMagnier 2021-10-04T15:58:59Z

This is a cool idea. And after a while of playing the controls feel intuitive. And some tricky levels in there. I liked the effect between the levels, fits the theme. In some levels actual cursor movement was not needed (but allowed to solve without tilding). Maybe disable (with a story reason) any only use the tilding to move.

Unscrambler by Antti Haavikko 2021-10-07T15:00:50Z

Cool idea! Very cleanly implemented with nice graphics. For me as a not native english speaker it was a bit difficult. But cool game!

Flip the board by Baturinsky 2021-10-07T14:51:17Z

A very nice puzzler. Great idea. Well implemented. Unfortunately in some levels it felt like tic-tac-toe, i.e. I could not find a move to win, as the AI just was mimicim my move. I like the simple graphics.

Unstable escape by Tory 2021-10-05T20:30:00Z

I like the mood very much! Nice to be able to zoom in and out!

Formula Dare by Taffaz 2021-10-09T16:41:25Z

I like the base idea very much. And I played a couple of rounds. I would have liked to have a clearer feedback on the overall status of the car before qualifying/ racing. I would have liked a direct info on the spots about the rules, instead of hovering over, which took time and was annoying. I think this has a lot of potential and I would like to check the next versions. Note: I played the original version.

Drilbert II Diggeredoo by wheybags 2021-10-05T12:07:50Z

Cool re-interpretation of Boulderdash, which you probably don’t know as it is 37 years old. Back to your game: impressive implementation of “whole junks” fall as one piece done in the restricted time frame!!! It was fun playing. And a lot of levels for a jam.

Snmuloc by tayl1r 2021-10-07T15:19:28Z

That was surprising and fun. Nice base idea. Very probably this could be expanded. Looking forward to your Sokobot!

Psychogoat Collapse by 6smith 2021-10-07T15:05:50Z

This is a great base idea. And there is so much atmosphere: knowing that I have to do something in a room, while everything around is collapsing. Plus the nice ZX Spectrum graphics. There is a lot of potential in the idea!!!

Penguin Panic by munkkeli 2021-10-07T15:09:03Z

Nice idea, very nice graphics ... unfortunately it did not really work well on a keyboard without num-pad... or which +/- did you mean? On a German keyboard the +/- did not work. Still, rated for graphics and mood and theme and ...

Sitter by NoahRo 2021-10-16T19:34:02Z

Wow ... this was a rough experience! This was a roller coaster. Great you created this feeling in me with such simple graphics, game play and sound. I just let the feeling go. I did not care about not understanding. Maybe human behaviour is not understandable that easy and less controllable with blue, green and red syringes.

Super Clumsy Box Galaxy by ZachsButt 2021-10-07T16:16:04Z

wow. amazing. I like the idea for the controls a lot ("jump" for a while until landing and "jump" again). I did not know this kind of control before. Reloading the jump normally is triggered by time passing. Yours is better! And the mixed in "Unstable" controlling. I was very nicely surprised by your minigames!!! I enjoyed it and played it ... until I got 4, ... I did not find the 5th part :-(

Super Clumsy Box Galaxy by ZachsButt 2021-10-07T17:36:13Z

I thought I got 4: cows, painting, tic-tac-toe, guy at right before jumping... and it said “one more” Still, enjoyed your game!

Wobble Waddle! by Gen Liu 2021-10-10T20:09:40Z

Pity it is only windows, my windows machine broke and only Mac. But graphics and animation look great!

Strong and Stable by natpat 2021-10-09T19:30:59Z

This is a very different interpretation of the theme. I like this. Great dancing animation done in a simple way. Controls are tight and good. I would have liked the attack collision range to be a bit more forgiving, especially for the EU stars. Cool!

Wanna Live - Survive! by cavejohnson332 2021-10-16T19:43:42Z

Interesting game. Simple game idea. Great graphics. Fitting sound. Unfortunately, for me the controls did not work at all. Felt fiddly, I had lot of difficulties to opperate the machines as I had to get to the exact point. Maybe because I am used to and prefer controller over mouse and keyboard. I think I would have enjoyed and replayed a couple of times with controls fitting to my style.

Celestial Heights by shp 2021-10-07T16:22:01Z

Good idea! Solid implementation. I had a bit a hard time with the controls (I normally play controller). Your game got me into the flow, once I got a bit into the controls. I wanted to get up and it was adrenalin rush. Often the platforms above did fall, while trying to get up. Tricky. And the hook not always hooked.

Picasso Bridge Disaster by TheWustache 2021-10-07T20:32:21Z

This was fun. Made me think a few times to solve the levels. Well implemented physics. Good ideas for the levels. Congratulations!

Instability Verse by Stroe Andrew 2021-10-07T20:13:15Z

Wow. Complicated game for a ludum dare. Very nice graphics and cool music! Time between the events felt a bit too long. It would be nice to see where platforms will disappear ... I would like to at least. Controls are good. Congratulations!

Council of Emotions by squirmonkey 2021-10-09T19:54:12Z

640 ... This is a nice game. I enjoyed playing it a lot. And it had fun and mature rationale. I see the "Unstable" theme in the emotions, it would have helped to visualise that they should stay in the middle. I tried to get them up to max and off they went. I enjoyed and it has a nice mood and good feel. Congratualtions!

🕷💩Poopy Parker💩🕷 by TheJunt 2021-10-21T10:41:24Z

:-D This is fun, unconventional, crazy, uncompromised. I like this. And all the small details (toilet paper!!! etc.) are great. The most fun entry I have played. Controls are a bit difficult for me, but I think this is part of it, as it makes it even more unstable. Very solid implementation! Congratulations!

NEKONOVA'S NOT HOME by LeYamez 2021-10-11T11:02:32Z

Great gaming idea! I do not know anything else like this. First the game was a bit hectic and I did not know what to do, but after a while it was zen. I like the music very much. Fits very well, mix of calm and happy, a bit pushy. I love the effect when the cat-flying-saucer (?) appears for the first time. I like the animation and effects of the blue things. Click controls are solid. I would have liked the movement of the blue and red things to be a bit slower allowing to target better. I would have liked the movement of the blue and red things to be a bit more towards the outside, very often the next target was moving towards the black hole, as well as myself, therefore not giving any chance. If the catapulting out of the current blue thing would be a bit more dynamic it would help. A bit more impulse. I see clicking the mouse far away gives it more, but maybe even more? I think the game has potential. I would love to play a version which is even more zen/ flow: maybe even allowing three targets, i.e. even if not in blue (at start 3, shooting looses one, getting into a blue increases by 1.5 or something like that).

NEKONOVA'S NOT HOME by LeYamez 2021-10-17T17:22:54Z

You asking about 3x target. I meant that in your current version when being in a blue box the player has ONE try/ shot. My proposal is to try out giving the player 3 tries before getting into next blue box. But somehow limit it in someway. All to make it more zen.

Polygonal Animal Stacking by Flying Dog Fish 2021-10-07T15:53:13Z

Made me smile. I like the graphics. And good physics. And trickier than I thought (you put the right amount of wobble into the physics to make it challenging). Nice music. Made me smile.

P.S.: I could not find the "keyboard" animal in my enzyclopedia. From which continent is it?

GONZO ALCHEMY! by kristinamay 2021-10-20T10:17:51Z

Very nice mood. I like the feeling your game creates (with your text, the graphics, what the player can do). The music does fit, might be a bit less punchy/ more background in the long term play. The controls felt complicated, as for each single thing there was another key - for a production game a simpler control (i.e. using same keys for similar/ same things) would help. I did not really understand how to find out the right mixtures, the book did not help me, everything, except first mixture were failures. Still, I'm impressed about what you made in a game jam.

PolitiGod by Nakami 2021-10-11T15:41:27Z

This is a nice little city politics economics society environment ... simulation. I saw the impact of my activities (mostly). There were funny texts. Enjoyed it for (i think 4 or 5 re-elections). Then suddenly my popularity dropped just before re-election. I think I skip politics for now. A lot of content for a game jam! Good.

Temple Of Tozi by Denzil Gomes 2021-10-09T15:32:56Z

Very nice graphics. Very nice music. Solid controls, still I always prefer controller. Only the charge up feels a bit stiff: stops suddenly at top and cannot move left or right. Did not feel good. I did not see how the game jam topic was covered.

Geiger Cubes by Samuel Hollywood-Summers 2021-10-06T19:03:43Z

Unfortunately I only have a Mac. But I watched the video clip. I love the sound: very juicy. The "pop" of the gun and the collision sounds are great! And nice and calm music. The graphics look very good. Nice "mate reflective" walls.

VelociCorp Warehouses by pancelor 2021-10-05T21:26:00Z

Impressive: in 12 hours! I like the comments by the "skull".

Chaos Dungeon by CookieRA 2021-10-05T21:21:36Z

The game creates a great mood! With the graphics and the lighting! Unfortunately there was no sound when I played (webgl).

F%$#IN BIRDS! by Substain 2021-10-06T18:51:31Z

This is fun! Cool idea and very well implemented. My neighbours now think I am crazy. Little thing for extended version: The guy falls to the left and shouting brings him to the right. Feels a bit asymmetric, any idea how to make it more symmetric?

off-balance by CodeForJoyCaro 2021-10-04T16:10:18Z

I enjoyed this game very much. And the idea was fitting the jam theme the best so far. First I did not notice that I can move front and back, I thought it is 2d movement. But when I noticed it was fun moving the "bombs" around. The "bombs" - really cool design: visually and their movement. I liked the mood, especially the change to level 3 with the black with sun in front. One little thing, the movement of the plane felt some times too fast: first no movement, then too much: maybe dampering a bit? Great game!!! My favourite!

Pile Up Medieval by zimny11 2021-10-09T16:16:36Z

I enjoyed playing the game! I wanted to get a city as big as possible. And tried again when failed. Good! Nice mixing of game ideas (city builder and tiny towers). Physics is good and the colliders are tight to the buildings, which is important. Some times I wished for mirrored elements to keep thing tidy (e.g. a mirrored building where the chimney was on the other side in order to counterbalance).

Rocky Rhodes and the Cracked Case by Brainloaf Studio 2021-10-16T19:29:45Z

Very nice visuals and mood!!! Love it! Hope to see more like this.

Grabanakki by Saturnyoshi 2021-10-10T20:08:30Z

Close to perfect! 1. Thank you for including controller support, I think with keyboard I would have given up in early level. 2. Great presentation: graphics, animation, sound 3. So many types of enemies 4. Hard, but fair (mostly) 5. Great game meachanics A few polishing things, but minor and even a production game can have these. Congratulation!

Warhead Stroll by cagibi 2021-10-10T19:49:17Z

Just perfect! A lot of fun, solid controls (I would have preferred controller, but very good for keyboard), multiple levels, great graphics, good sound, end-boss(!), ... Wow, a perfect compo game!

Stack Tower Jump by hiisileiri 2021-10-09T19:45:04Z

Game stopped with a score of 36, no more levels. Why are there no controller support? With keyboard it is more difficult. Still controls are well implemented. Without sound the mood is not there. Just getting some generic sounds would already have helped. I played it three times. Each time I was just standing at left, jumped, once in a while picked a blue diamond, stand at left without moving. No challenge. Even the red thingies were no challenge. And how about the levels don't get straight one on the other but are unstable and you have to balance them and still avoid reds and get blues - that would have been fun. With an animated ball (squeeze etc.) it would have been more fun. Still, played it three times, which is more than most other games. Very cleanly implemented.

The Lesser Evil by Jon Topielski 2021-10-10T20:12:33Z

I love twin-stick-shooter ... unfortunately I cannot control them with WASD and mouse, prefer twin-stick. But what I played I liked. Nice 1-bit graphics. Great music!

Drifter by nyxkn 2021-10-16T19:27:47Z

Wow! Great atmosphere! Great creation of tension! Very good controls! For a compo game very very well balanced (Fuel, speed, number of platforms, ...)! Great subtle increase of difficulty!

I am impressed! Congratulations!!!

Unstable Isotopes by Recher 2021-10-07T19:57:41Z

Nice. Relaxing. First time the chain reaction happened was a surprise. Fun to watch it with the animations. A lot of luck is needed, seems to me, therefore, I would have liked a bit more energy at beginning. Played it a couple of time and enjoyed it. Well done!

LabileLoL by Wouter52 2021-10-06T19:11:54Z

Wow!!!!!! Yes, as others wrote it feels a bit like "Inside Out". But I never thought of it as a game. Cool idea. And very good implementation, very clear what is meant. And I like the "hohoho" of the guy at the other side. I think it is worth developing further.

UnStabled by Zackavelli 2021-10-05T20:56:16Z

I love the game! First I was overwhelmed by the instructions. But trying it out and it was well accessible. Nice idea!!! Fits the theme unexpectedly. And a lot to see and consider: different types of things to collect the open gates at bottom, the direction of horses (little thing: the arrow shows a bit off the actual direction, which makes it a bit difficult). And I love the stampede :-) One other little thing: The dividers of the stable at top are a bit misleading: block horses from start and hide them. Very fitting music. Great game! (and very fair to get more horses later, as I lost three due to the chaos in bottom). Note: One horse got stuck outside the screen once and I had hard time clicking it. And I made it. Finished a game! Made me happy, as I never finish games.

Unstable Alchemy by sarahs7 2021-10-09T15:38:03Z

I like the mixing idea very much! And it becoming unstable after a while. I did not understand the riddle and the relationship to what to mix. It seemed as if there were always the same ingredients, but different riddle. Always exploded. ... But that's me, being impatient player.

Horsey Bash by jakefriend 2021-10-10T19:38:49Z

Pure chaos! Still controllable. Funny. Did I mention chaotic, but in a good way. Great game!

Contrary by Nekopi 2021-10-21T10:56:20Z

Great mood created by the graphics and the music! I felt "In-the-game", really good.

For me the controls felt "squishy", it felt as if something was softening/ dampering my actions. In addition, I was not sure if I was hitting the monsters or just hitting the air. [EDIT] Now I understand: the bottom left bars tell me how much jump/ attack/ block I have and it changes continuously. For the whole first level this was not clear to me: I perceived it as a regeneration/ cooldown. Maybe if the bars or some other indicators would be at/ close to the character it would help, as my eyes are on the character in front of it and not at the left corner. I like the concept/ idea, ... probably if balancing/ adapting a bit it is more intuitive? And adding some clear feedback (visual/ sound) when jumping when attacking and hitting.

Little bug (?) in third level (city): first previous music was playing and when I died, the actual music started.

I always prefer controller instead of keyboard/ mouse. So I had a hard time just due to this.

Overall, very impressive for a game jam!

Reactor by RefraX295 2021-10-05T21:13:13Z

Cool idea. And having an editor in a combo - impressive. Unfortunately I don't understand why sometimes the particle explodes ... And nice to have a sandbox.

Ethereal Runner by jabsatz 2021-10-07T20:23:41Z

I love the graphic style. Glitchy, pixely, dark colours, dystopian ... fits very well the theme. I love the fair controls: i.e. jumping is still possible when falling and touching a bit the platform (I played another game which was opposite and no fun). I would have preferred a controller support. With keyboard it felt like twisting and breaking my fingers. But still I was able to play, but had to think too much about controls, which took away from immersion.

Nucleus by mrBell270 2021-10-05T20:40:55Z

234.94 seconds :-) I like the simple minimalistic art style, fits very well. As well the sound scape and effects are very nice and fitting. Nice animations. Very solid game mechanics: 1. controls of the shield 2. Two types of challenges (electrons and emitted particles) 3. Clear objective and clear feedback 4. Extra: full shield (first I did not understand what the changing bar on the shield meant until I pressed space). Very enjoyable!

Fire Risk by Soul Grinder 2021-10-06T11:55:14Z

I enjoyed playing your game. Easy to understand and well implemented. Good it became more difficult and darker the deeper you get. I like the player sprite, especially the big on the title screen and when loosing all energy.

Eldritch Horse by Knipsch 2021-10-07T15:16:02Z

Crazy, chaotic, unstable, still somehow controllable. A lot of fun. Great idea! And nicely implemented. I enjoyed it a lot.

Watching the Lava Lamp Facility by A.J. 2021-10-06T18:56:46Z

This is a good idea. And I love the graphics - very very different. Little idea: it was a bit tedious to always switch between instructions and the lamps to see what to do - maybe make it possible to see both at once?

Rock On by Leuthil 2021-10-07T15:32:36Z

I like the idea very much!. Very nicely and cleanly implemented. I am not good at it, probably because I am used to controller controls. This would be perfect for a twin stick controller controls. I would have preferred easier to get extras, as this is just a jam. So I did not get too far.

Noinun40 by Itzemii 2021-10-09T15:39:37Z

@candlesan Thank you for playing and the feedback! Yes the four corner at once was on purpose, as the field wraps around. But that's not intuitive, removing it from next version.

Noinun40 by Itzemii 2021-10-09T15:40:35Z

@dob Thank you for playing and the feedback! Yes, the goal was not clear. I will make it clearer in next version and have a clear progress/ completion rate.

Noinun40 by Itzemii 2021-10-09T15:41:49Z

@flying-dog-fish Thank you for playing and the feedback! The rendering issue happens in the embedded WebGL, but goes away in full screen. At least that's the way I managed it with my game (and others).

Noinun40 by Itzemii 2021-10-09T15:43:54Z

@fractale Thank you for playing and the feedback! Yes, text rendering is very bad, noticed, but did not have time to fix during the 48hours. I see, grid is too big and first positioning is too boring. Good idea to make it more challenging by finding more challenging spot. Didn't think about that. I will try for next version.

Noinun40 by Itzemii 2021-10-09T15:45:18Z

@zachsbutt Thank you for playing and the feedback! Oh yes, ESC is not a good idea - is next version Backspace. Unreadable font, I did not have time to fix in 48hours game jam. Will change.

@shp Thank you for playing and the feedback! For music I got 50:50 positive:not-positive feedback.

Noinun40 by Itzemii 2021-10-09T15:47:07Z

@codeforjoycaro Thank you for playing and the feedback! Game jam theme got lost during development. The game went through essential changes from idea to implementation and no time at end to make it clearer/ more unstable.

Noinun40 by Itzemii 2021-10-09T15:48:53Z

@wheybags Thank you for playing and the feedback! It does not end, because I wanted to add a "completion percentage/ stability percentage" and make the challenge getting closer to 100%. Did not have time for it before end of game jam. But an immediate-end game mode would be good as an option.

Noinun40 by Itzemii 2021-10-09T15:49:45Z

@mrbell270 Thank you for playing and the feedback! Yes, the instability visualisation is not there, no time until game jam end. But adding it for next version.

Noinun40 by Itzemii 2021-10-09T15:50:48Z

@witchhat Thank you for playing and the feedback! Nice you like the sprites, they were done in a quick-and-dirty way with [caution hidden advertisement] Logoist 3 for Mac.

Noinun40 by Itzemii 2021-10-09T15:51:22Z

@substain Thank you for playing and the feedback! I will try to evolve the game idea.

@soul-grinder Thank you for playing and the feedback! And thanks for appreciating the instability visualisation.

Noinun40 by Itzemii 2021-10-09T15:53:07Z

@wouter52 Thank you for playing and the feedback! Yes, at beginning it is not clear how it works. I will add some tutorialization for an improved version.

Noinun40 by Itzemii 2021-10-09T15:53:51Z

@pcmaster Thank you for playing and the feedback! For music I got both, positive and not so good feedback.

Noinun40 by Itzemii 2021-10-09T15:54:21Z

@cogcomp Thank you for playing and the feedback! Important to know that it works without instructions.

Noinun40 by Itzemii 2021-10-09T15:56:12Z

@abregado Thank you for playing and the feedback! Good to know that a no-time-pressure game mode is a thing that is appreciated. The wrapping ... I started, as I thought it is needed to avoid border cases, then I continued, even complicated to implement. But I think it is not intuitive and I already removed for improved version (and here the border cases create additional implementation effort :-)

Noinun40 by Itzemii 2021-10-09T15:57:15Z

@kingslee142 Thank you for playing and the feedback! Important to know the the elements are some times a bit confusing. I will try clearer elements and maybe a "confuse version" with very similar elements.

Noinun40 by Itzemii 2021-10-09T15:58:42Z

@alec Thank you for playing and the feedback! Yes, the music gets too much after a while. I did it while away from the computer, with iPad in literally 15 minutes with no editing at all. Played 10 little pieces. And focused afterwards on other things of the game to finish in 48hours.

Noinun40 by Itzemii 2021-10-09T16:02:26Z

@samuel-hollywood-summers Thank you for playing and the helpful feedback! Yes, in this version it is close to impossible to win. I added 4 elements to choose in improved version I am working at. No, the wrapping is not intuitive. But as I started, as I thought is is needed, I continued and left it in as there was no more time in the 48 hours - removed for new version. No there is no strategy in this version ... I will think if I can add strategy or just leave it to the local decision/ tactics game play. Yes, unfair with only two elements and no check for fairness in this version, sorry. Black elements are visualised in improved version I am working at. I will add SFX for every important event.

Noinun40 by Itzemii 2021-10-09T16:04:12Z

@loveapplegames Thank you for playing and the feedback! No there is no strategy in this version, and it is unfair in some cases. Improving this in a version I am working at. Black items feedback already included in that one (not published yet). And thanks for the idea with a "how well done" percentage or so.

Noinun40 by Itzemii 2021-10-09T16:05:16Z

@iacopo Thank you for playing and the feedback! I didn't think of too similar coluor/ shape. I will improve on that in next version.

Noinun40 by Itzemii 2021-10-09T19:21:08Z

@natpat Thank you for playing and the feedback! Yes, there should be more strategy. I am thinking about a solution for an updated version, but as you said, not too easy to make.

Noinun40 by Itzemii 2021-10-09T19:23:03Z

@loyance Thank you for playing and the feedback! The wrapping/ duplication of last/ first row and column are not intuitive. But during game jam at the end there was no time to change that. Removing for updated version.

Noinun40 by Itzemii 2021-10-09T19:25:59Z

@hiisileiri Thank you for playing and the feedback! Yes, this version for the jam is random and often unfair, changing this for an updated version. The jam version has a restart: "ESC" goes back to start screen, but an extra skip button is a good idea. 4 choices is a good idea, already implementing for updated version. But I will leave the random position as it is and try out for two reasons: too complicated is not liked by people and it would make it a different game and I enjoy it with random spot - but I will try out different game modes. Scaling was an intend to make it "unstable" looking during game jam.

Noinun40 by Itzemii 2021-10-09T20:29:36Z

@fizzget Thank you for playing and the feedback! Yes I was worried about the random aspect to be too annoying and for easy levels to be just button hitting. I’m creating an updated version and will focus on the balancing and maybe add some AI to select pieces instead of pure random. To make it a bit more strategic, maybe.

Noinun40 by Itzemii 2021-10-10T13:36:31Z

@zimny11 Thank you for playing in for the feedback! Yes, the music does not fit. I did it within 15 minutes and did not redo due to the time restrictions of the game jam.

Noinun40 by Itzemii 2021-10-11T10:48:34Z

@polkoii Thank you for playing in for the feedback! Yes, the jam version is very random and often unfair, not providing too much choice. I am working on a new version which allows to place 1 of 4 (instead of 2) elements. And I am adding better visualisation of the match-3 and too-close-together. Points is a good idea - I will think of counting somehow how well the player does, maybe 100% is perfect and getting match-3 etc. reduces this.

Noinun40 by Itzemii 2021-10-11T21:54:16Z

@ruthiepee Thank you for playing in for the feedback! Yes, in not-full-screen unfortunately the text is cutoff. Yes. Controls initially are unclear, I will tutorialize in an updated version. Ok, good you liked the wiggle, I will add more/ Different feedback to player. Music was done quick and dirty and is a bit too much after a while, will change.

@kristinamay Thank you for playing and for the feedback!

Noinun40 by Itzemii 2021-10-21T10:37:16Z

@evangreenwood Thank you for playing and for the helpful feedback! These are very good points! Yes, both the graphics and (especially) the sound are unrelaxing/ unstable from the beginning. Both were just created during the 48 hours by just doing without thinking much and without any polishing. It is a good idea start pleasant and get more unnerving over time! I will consider this for the updated/ derived version I am currently working on.

Dahu Hunt by Fractale 2021-10-07T16:00:47Z

I did not know this kind of animal :-D Very nice idea. Mix of stealth and jump and run and crazy animal. Took me a while to understand what to do. I found the easter egg!

Charon by EthanKessler 2021-10-09T16:27:19Z

I love the atmosphere and the game idea. Unfortunately I had a hard time getting any barrels. They were in the air and I clicked them and nothing happened. Then some times another felt on my ship, I was able to move. Then one exploded when landing on the deck. I did not get it. Even I really like the idea and the mood of your game!

An's Table by Iacopo 2021-10-07T15:38:08Z

Chaotic. Not easy to control (Note: I normally play with controller and I am not used to mouse, WASD). I like your graphics style overall. A lot of things happening. Very difficult, as one bullet kills. Nice idea!

Lemmini by aplegatt 2021-10-05T20:46:29Z

Nice idea. Putting wood planks to safe the lemming. I enjoyed playing the levels. I like the quick and dirty art style. Unfortunately it is possible to just put plank under lemming and quide it full way to the safe spot: maybe disable plank if being moved by mouse?

Wobbly Cannonry by LucDeligne 2021-10-07T20:07:03Z

WOW!!! I love this game. Great idea! Very innovative. Never thought of something like this. My favourite Ludum Dare 49 game (after playing 32 games). Not only the idea, but as well the feeling while playing is great. First I was very cautious, and then over time I took more risk and was able to hit things. And it is good you dropped plenty of turrets. CONGRATULATIONS!

Pink Dragon by Witchhat 2021-10-05T18:27:18Z

I love the art style. Especially the colour palete and the background graphics. Very distopian. This is a really hard game, even crossing a bit the border towards unfair. I enjoyed the first level and was frustrated in the second. Control instructions as sprayed letters in world is good idea.

Unstable: Save a Herd of Horses by Alex Chertilin 2021-10-09T20:02:29Z

Nice! Very much fun to play. Very nice graphics. Well implemented controls (even I normally prefer controller). I got stuck a few times, but could get out after a while. Very crazy chaotic unstable after some time passes ... cool. Feels the urge to save them here, while they are burning there and everywhere. Yes, UNSTABLE in different ways. Congratulations!

Forest Fire by JNI 2022-04-05T17:28:15Z

Nice, I like it! I love the graphics, the way you created a forest just with cubes. I like the way the fire leaves back black remainders (not in reality, but in your game). I felt helpless with a little fire extinquisher or bucket. And ran back to get a refill and to the fire and being alone doing it. Wow. I liked that I could find the fire by following the sound.

Shotgun King: the Final Checkmate by benjamin 2022-04-06T14:11:12Z

Cool! Wonderfull fusion of game genres/ ideas. Very well implemented. I never would have thought of such a game idea. And so polished for 3 days. Congratulations!

Rockmageddon by hunttis 2022-04-07T16:44:37Z

That is cool! Solid graphics and great music! I like the game mechanics, having to balance the holes in the shield for the pods to escape and to keep the shield intact. Great! Balancing does not feel good: Pods at beginning appear so fast, that I have to loose some. End (many "rocks") comes to soon. But cool! Congratulations for an innovative, well playable game. ... stressfull game 🙃

Worm Food by Genpaku 2022-04-05T20:12:54Z

Simple cool idea. The 2D version is kind of too static, I did not have any feedback about how I was doing. The 3D is better, but still I would have like to have some struggling of the worm or something to see how I was doing. Just nothing was too little. The 3D end animation was great, a pity it is just at the end. But cool idea and 2(!) implementations, wow!

The Inevitable Relay by Papaver 2022-04-21T12:05:50Z

Cool idea having three characters and having to choose which one, based on the energy level. This is a hard game. Jump controls felt to me a bit "limiting", but it might be because I normally play with controller and I am not used to keyboard controls. Funny sounds ... "switch" ... :-)

Snooze by NicMagnier 2022-04-05T11:36:27Z

Cool idea with the timer! And very clean polished presentation, and it has nice variation of enemies. The BGM and SFX fit very well. Me personally, I have very difficult time playing with keyboard and mouse, I am a controller guy, so I did not get very far, even shoot'em'ups/ twin stick shooter are my absolute favourite genre.

Descending by pev 2022-04-05T20:02:24Z

Nice! Cool behaviour of the people (very good implementation). Feels very very alive. I tried to save them, but I lost all of them. Very solid graphics. In WebGL I did not hear any music.

Pass The Torch by Dan Smith 2022-04-06T13:45:18Z

Rushing through life, rushing through the day, quickly this and quickly that, all the game jams awaiting to be played. And then I start "Pass the torch" ... Wow! Intense. Makes me think. ... No words. Impressive presentation (music and graphics and effects). Very fitting the theme. Great! My only mini comment, and that is taste wise: I think another font would better fit the theme, some handwritten, serif. The 8 bit to me feels out of place. One other thing: When the light went out, I did not understand why. I did not have any indication, at least I did not notice any, before-hands, so I could plan. Besides that: My highest rating, except for fun. It is not fun, it is emotional deep. P.S.: Thank you for providing the code. I am curious and will have a look to learn.

Tantric Adventurer by bucketh3ad 2022-04-05T20:15:53Z

Fantastic music, very fitting. And when dead the smooth switch to the other one is cool. The controls felt stiff, or it was the missing feedback and the feeling that I was not able to hold them back that hold me back from playing more often. Overall a solid game!

Nice cute graphics. Building fences is fun.

Pachinko is Life by Don Fouts 2022-04-11T20:48:11Z

So surreal, strange. So much effort put into the text, graphics and polishing. I am impressed. I did not really understand why everytime each of the four gets an initial amount of balls in the basked and what happens to the one with most and the end ... But I enjoyed shooting balls into the machine. ... and such a surreal scenario, very! Cool!

Shades of Deception by AMastryukov 2022-04-17T16:02:17Z

This is a huge game for a game jam! Congratulations on such a polished game!!! Great mood created by graphics, music and story!

fireme.club by velvetlobster 2022-04-05T17:32:56Z

That's a cool game idea. And very polished complete implementation. Very unique experience. Sound does not feel like what a procrastinator does, but ok. Graphics/ style is great. It felt a bit complex to me, so I did not dive into all the depths of the game, which is probably has. Good job, impressive for a three day jam!

The End? by michaelaranda 2022-04-07T19:56:35Z

Intersting concept! Very nice graphics and fitting music! I am not a keyboard player, more a controller player: to me controls felt stiff, but that's me. I like the concept, having to balance the delay and filling the rocket! Is it possible when playing alone? Congratulations to this quite complex, polished, innovative game during a jam!

One Bite by Lenan 2022-04-10T20:22:45Z

Cool! It is a lot of fun to "skate" through the level and slash the enemies, getting into the flow. Still having to time everything not to kill too many at once and allowing more to come. Very solid graphics. Great juicy effect when "skating" and hitting enemies. Vey fitting music. Congratulations to the very well playable (used controller left stick) and fun game!

Go Go Car Boom by Russ Moonbase 2022-04-07T20:12:48Z

Wow 3D for a game jam. Nice 3D models. Solid controls. First i thought that I am a police cars with red lights all over ... even got rid of them and it said no bombs at the end. In the second playthrough I noticed that it is bombs. God game! I just did not see the game jam topic ...

Mr.Filton Deluxe by DS Nahogara 2022-04-08T20:22:01Z

This is cool!!! I enjoyed drawing and letting my creation fight. Animations are really nice, simple but give my drawing life. I played around to see how the HP are generated and good concept! (my record is 860HP) I can see that with some more of such rules you could created a complete game based on this. Congratulations to the innovative, fun game! 860HP.png

Board to DEATH by nsadie 2022-04-05T12:22:16Z

Wow!!!!!!! This is impressive. Very polished, complete, visually striking, fun to play, addictive. 1. I love the graphical style. And the cool death figure, which watches my moves. Nice. 2. The sound fits well. 3. I loved the puzzles, got to the end, where there is only one pawn on the big board. Unfortunately, after placing multiple times and giving up, the game crashed: white screen where I still could retry/ give up and hear things, but nothing else, then real crash (WebGL Chrome). 4. I played a lot of chess derived games. Still this one feels fresh and enjoyable. 5. Why are the enemy figures nicer than my own 😄 ? ♞ of death is nicer than my own. ... Just joking. 6. A little too much for my taste: The "hump/ shake" when placing my figure. Overall: Great. And amazing for a game jam.

Question: I am rating graphics, assuming that you did them during the game jam, else it would not be fair for people who created graphics from scratch.

100 Seconds to Midnight by Substain 2022-04-07T16:05:51Z

Wow, this feels dark. And yes, makes clear that decisions are not black and white. And you even "only" have added three things to consider. Feels deep and thorough. Makes me feel helpless. Well implemented. The music fits very well!

Delay Decay by CodeForJoyCaro 2022-04-17T21:30:47Z

I really like your little game! I am fascinated of the surreal mood you have created by the graphics and the mixture or reality and the demon-thing in the shrine. I really like the world graphics: the shader of the grass, the water and how it behaves and the fuzzy borders of the core world and then ... nothing beyond it. Cool! And the switch of the colors when time runs out (and really nice that it is not a harsh-at-0-seconds end!). You have created a nice little story, ... maybe a bit bloody in the words (eating cute bunny hearts). The angriness/ egoism of the demon-thing comes through very well in the dialogues. I like that you have added so many little details (the red eyes of the wolfs, the idle animation of greeny, the surreal fast walking of greeny, the fitting fonts, ...). I like the distorted music effect after dying. Music in general adds a fourth layer (surreal graphics, comic drawings, the demon-thing dialogues): the music is slapstic-like and pushes forward, and for some reason I cannot describe fits your game. Difficulty level is good for a game-jam! Congratulations for this very own-special-nice game!

Unfaithable by Furano 2022-04-18T11:46:25Z

Very nice presentation!!! Cool graphics and animation. Very moody setting. And even a cut scene! Solid game play and controls. I wish I would have had auto fire, but ok. At one point the camera went away from me and did not follow me ... Overall very polished, moody cool.

Mr. Final Boss by Oroshibu 2022-04-05T17:05:36Z

Wow! Cool! This is great! I am impressed. I enjoyed playing it (best: killed 9 heroes). Its a cool idea to be the one defeading the heroes. It is spectacular graphics/ effects and good BGM. I struggled a bit with the controls: I often did not see the direction I would attack and I did not feel like I could aim the direction. But cool to have so many different weapons/ fire attacks!

Keep It Steaming by Jvdwijk 2022-04-07T20:01:24Z

Wow a lot of minigames for a game jam! Impressive. Train graphics is superb. Sound is ... Even a tutorial! Not my type of game, but I am very impressed with what you delivered!

Reaplechase by emk4 2022-04-05T16:53:38Z

Nice game idea. And I really wanted to hold back the reaper and give the guy some time. Still, I struggled with the controls, probably as I am not a keyboard, but a controller/ console guy. Really good work. Very polished!

Countdown by alpharock6 2022-04-21T19:49:12Z

Nice the way you build up and tell the story! Very solid implementation! Feels fresh. Just the end when I collected to much life energy came too surprising without announcement, did not feel good. Congratulations to this very own style nice game!

Baggy & Maggy by Revetoon 2022-04-06T14:08:07Z

Cute! Controls on keyboard are solid, still I prefer controller. I got the match back to the mug. But I did not understand in the upper right side of the level how to climb, what to do. Still, enjoyed the little playtime. I like the graphics, very consistent and cute. Music is fitting, but a bit too repetitive to "present".

Never Alone by fachscahfttf 2022-04-07T19:47:57Z

Online components in a jam game! Wow, that's great! Congratulations. Game itself is very standard twin stick shooter.

SensenCemetery by Wouter52 2022-04-10T15:05:14Z

I am bad in this game. I thought I am so far ahead and then swoosh ... Well done! Impressive for a game jam! I am a gamepad player, so I had a hard time with the controls, especially the shift key, so I did not get really far. Graphics is nice, sound is ... stressful. Congratulations to the complete, very polished game!

Smog TD by Zackavelli 2022-04-06T15:55:56Z

Wow, you did a lot within a very short time! There is really a lot of stuff implemented in it. And a really nice add-on with the pollution/ second layer of things to consider. Graphics of the towers is great, while the graphics of the level is solid/ practical. SFX are very classic, remind me of my early tower defence games. Zoom and scrolling is good, but I would have liked to have a bit more top down view, less flat. I did not get very far, as I was not able to stop the early waves. Overall, really nice, enjoyed playing it.

Chess? by dreamscale 2022-04-07T16:37:25Z

After playing 7 times. Solid classic graphics, would be great if you did them from scratch during jam (did you?). Sound is minimal, but ok. First I did not understand the game at all, just by trying out a few times. And even now it does not feel intuitive (e.g. when shopping sometimes I can take a piece and sometimes not, why do I get material reduced after turn, other times increased, ...). But it feels deep. I think there is a lot of potential. My problem is that I don't explicitly, and not even implicitly see the dependencies/ rules. Probably some clearer feedback on some actions, e.g. warning about the scarce material (it feels very abrupt when game ends) . Playing feels zen. Small thing: own pieces beating own pieces feels strange ... not good. Another thing: I would not use Jack, as it feels random after second turn. Info on left about pieces is not complete: e.g. it says horizontal, but means "horizontal left/ right" not "up/down". Overall impressive for a game jam.

Erefos by exopunk 2022-04-05T17:21:55Z

Really nice and "complete". Up to the point I got stuck it felt like a finished complete game. Cool! Controls with a controller felt very good (not perfect, but good). The graphics are nice. I like the flying insects and the big punching hand! First I did not understand that I have to get to the next light. And then I got stuck at the "platforms stacking up" I did not get to the top, did not jump high enough at the top one. But I enjoyed, great game!

Sapper Master by yusovv 2022-04-08T19:10:57Z

Very nice overall style/ graphics theme, very consistent! And even more on the webpage! I like the cutting, that it is not yes/no but the player really cuts-in! Curious how you implemented tis. I like that the colour is not just shown at same place, but changes, which creates even more stress. Flawless controls. The game creates stress for me, which is the intention. I personally look for zen-games, so I would not play it more often than I did the jam game. Impressive what you did in the short jam!

The Itsy Bitsy Jumper by sakura_magika 2022-04-06T20:50:31Z

Niiiiccccceeeee!!!!!!! This is so refreshing, nice, cute, well playable, cool! I do normally not play beat/ rythm games, but this one is great and I enjoyed playing. Got 666bpm ... I like electronic music, even drum and bass, but that has a limit of about 180bpm. Your music is absolute hardcore 😜 Very well implemented, controls are tight and fair. Music is fitting. Graphics are lovely. I like the style and feels consistent. Maybe another font would fit better. Overall: congratulations to this pearl in the game jam!

I Love My Sheep by his-games 2022-04-09T18:40:15Z

Very nice graphics, very consistent! Fitting music. Impressive what you did within 72 hours! To me (not a keyboard, mouse player) the controls felt a bit clunky (e.g. getting out of the crafting menue only with TAB, but not by just clicking outside). Congratulations for such a large scope game!

Trash Panic! by Defrag 2022-04-06T13:59:46Z

Panic. Rush. Chaos. Destroying valuable trash. I just got into the flow. First not even knowing what I was doing. Fun. Cool idea! Little problem I had, at one point S did not open at all. Graphics very 80s style, and sound very personal style: nice. I will remember this game, while other jam games I forget.

Exit by Krzyhau 2022-04-09T18:53:35Z

Very cool atmosphere, created by the sound and the graphics! I am not a puzzle person, so I did not get very far.

A Small Fable by HiddenTavern 2022-04-06T21:06:38Z

Fantastic! Such a complete, nice, innovative, wholesome, enjoyable game! Very well implemented, nice controls (thx for including controller!). Very nice fitting graphics! Scary fable. Horrific birds - it felt like Hitchcock's "The Birds" towards the end. And cool you decided to end it! Felt like I wanted to play again. Probably, if it would just have continued I would have stopped. Overall a very holistic game! Congratulations!

Panic by woahitsjeff 2022-04-09T18:47:50Z

Wow. This feels terrifying. Luckily, I don't know this feeling, but your game well transports it. I felt ... bad while playing, trying to avoid people. Really good graphics and very very fitting sound. Only thing on sound: it immediately starts very strong, even at the beginning there are no others. I think an increase of anxiety would be great addition. Even there is the panic meter, I was surprised how fast/ suddenly the end came. I was expecting a bit slower increase, as at the beginning/ middle it was easy to avoid/ even get quite close to people. Overall: impressive!!!!! Your game transports very well the panic.

Life - Delaying Death by Itzemii 2022-04-05T15:08:07Z

@jamsgams Thank you for playing and for the nice and constructive feedback! Yes, the sound effects when picking up get too much. In the beginning when there are more good things that is too hectic, while I think towards the end when there is mostly only bad stuff it creates a hectic and a feel, that I did not intend, but occurred. I still don't know how to balance a pure BGM or having SFX on top, to fit - as the SFX are "random" when something happens it is difficult. Oh, puzzles, I thought of it as a symbol of worrying/ thinking to much about something/ being overloaded with lives "puzzles", ... but I see that a good puzzle is a good thing.

Life - Delaying Death by Itzemii 2022-04-05T15:09:12Z

@nicmagnier Thank you for playing and for the nice feedback! The games vibe and zen style just happened, I did not notice while developing, but just today when (really) playing (not testing) it myself. I did not have much time for finding the right speed/ ratio of good:bad but twisted the parameters until something acceptable was there. Funny detail: the game behaves very differently in the Unity editor and in the executables (frequency, speed) - I did not encounter this before. I think for a more serious game I have to include my own "random functions" or a clean "seed" thing.

@shabo Thank you for playing and for the feedback! Drinking a bit and enjoying is good! The symbol is about abusive/ extreme drinking, which is not good for the liver and for social life.

Life - Delaying Death by Itzemii 2022-04-06T20:58:56Z

@sakura-magika Thank you for playing and for the nice and constructive feedback! I really appreciate it! Let's start with the puzzles ... yes, a relaxed (jigsaw) puzzle is good and extends life, I think. I chose it as symbol for thinking to much/ turning around thoughts in the head, but not a good choice. In my update (1.1) I did change it to an anxiety symbol. Yes, balancing is not good in the jam version. I was happy just to have something, an hour to the deadline. (I was doing art/music and my jam partner should have done coding, but no code by Monday morning, so I decided to do a game with the art assets on Monday until Monday night). Version 1.1 has a (fuzzy) limit of 1100 (by increasing up to 500 with full value, then less up to 1100, i.e. if you have 1050 collecting a good thing just increases by e.g. 20, while if you have 700 it increases by 100). Yes, life without challenge would not be a good life. Thank you for your detailed, helpful feedback and the time you spent!

Life - Delaying Death by Itzemii 2022-04-07T07:34:29Z

@bucketh3ad thank you for playing and for the nice and constructive feedback! Yes, the difficulty and balancing is not good. The deadline was close and I was happy to have it working and then changed one little parameter, which reduced good probability from 5% to 0% at the end … For the icons while doing them I noticed them not being clear and thought of adding a clear marker (underlay, color, animation) but then decided to leave it vague, as life is not so clear. And actually reshuffling the icons on the borders. Thank you for your time for the detailed comments!

@wouter52 Thank you for playing and for the nice feedback! Yes, "Puzzle" is confusing, I thought of "anxiety"/"too many thought"/ ... but misleading. Replaced it in the post game version.

Life - Delaying Death by Itzemii 2022-04-10T18:20:32Z

@praccen Thank you for playing and for the nice and helpful comments! Yes, balancing in the game jam version is not good (a little last moment change of a parameter changed intended late-game probability for good things from 5% to 0%). I see, the counter is not clear, I have to make it clearer. The one below the player is the current "life-energy"/ "potential life", while the upper right counts the actual "lived". I.e. even if you had 6000, they were reduced by bad things, that does not count towards the total.

Bomb Over by Lucy Lu 2022-04-05T15:26:22Z

Nice! I got even on first try into the flow. First I thought, yeah easy and why not mixing up the words and colors, and then it was like that word!=colour. I wanted to get as far as possible. And then boom. I like the nice simple art style, I love the mood of the title screen (pink bomb style). Good smooth controls. I wish there would be at the end a total time, so I knew how "far" I got. But that's different philosophy, yours is like real life. By the way, something is broken in your implementation: I got very often pop-ups, which I had to close before continuing 😜

Mr. Fuse by Praccen 2022-04-06T20:44:22Z

This is great! The game mechanics idea is cool. And it is implemented very very well. Controls are fine and the bomb behaves fair and controllable. I did not expect it to be possible to control it, but it is, intuitively. Well done on that! Graphics is nice and music is very fitting. I like that just the bomb explodes, but not the player, room, village, country, world, ... Congratulations!

Bitboy by Proxy-Games 2022-04-10T18:30:07Z

Same as others: The initial message about deleting scared me ... Not cool.

I love your character facial expressions, animation, effects in the dialogue! Really well done. I like overall the graphics, except the 3D barrel, as it does not fit into the rest of the graphics. Music is good, mood is different from what I would expect (apocalypse, hurry, ...). Game mechanics is generic, but very fitting to theme. Controls are solid. Still a bit in-air control, further jump would feel more natural. Your current is good, just stating what in my opinion could improve it. Overall, a very complete/ polished/ clean/ funny game! Congratulations!

Happy Piggy Farm by TomatoOmelet 2022-04-07T16:57:32Z

First I thought, ok, nothing special. Then I played it. Wow! Cool! I did not expect the depth, the stress, my motivation to get to the end, the strategy and tactics. And even I knew better, I thought that "killing two pigs if only one is there would let me survive" ... Graphics are nice, each pig different. Font does not fit. No need to put "Weight" at each pig, but have the weight number bigger. Small things: I thought, I would like to see a ranking during the game, but no it is good not to have it. I would have liked to have a special pig, even I was in the middle at the end of each round, my eyes had to look for "me". Congratulations for such a fun, surprising deep game in the short jam!

RUNOUT by RobLaro 2022-04-10T19:21:15Z

Fantastic concept! Very unique! I really enjoyed playing it! And it fits very well the jam theme! Congratulations! P.S.: I think the mechanic has a lot of potential!

Colorful Love by Mikomoares 2022-04-06T14:38:28Z

This was fun! I enjoyed it very much. And it was difficult. I liked the things that were said, brought the game into some context. I was very surprised that getting very close together would annihilate each other!? Very polished! Very fitting graphics and music! Great entry!

Brakeless by silkmeloni 2022-04-05T11:51:11Z

Nice! Very nice for a game jam! I like the environment. I love the huge coke bottle hovering in the air, I wish I could drive or jump there. WebGL for me did work. I got stuck very often, in the floor and just getting close to obstacles. I got dizzy from the very direct movements, but just because I am tired, as I worked on my game until 2 am. I think I got all keys, went through the doors to the black hole ... and fell into the river. I played for quite a while, fun!

LD52 — Harvest

Apples & Oranges by euske 2023-01-11T15:46:02Z

That is an innovative twist! Give me some fruit ... Pac man maze. Pac man ghosts. But turn based movement and hallucination. I like the hallucination idea conceptually!!! This jam version is playable. The following are notes on the problems I ran into. Not expecting these not to be there in a jam version, as these are mostly finde tuning and balancing issues: - some random generated levels are "unfair", as I think it was not possible to solve them without running into ghosts - I had cases where the switch from one to other maze led to dead end, because a ghost moved to my exit (maybe that's "intentionally" as I have to remember the other maze?) - the mazes are mathematically (graph theory) trees, right? That makes them hard and over time boring. Overall cool conceptual game, especially for a game jam!!!

Cat Farm Panic ! by Yvanor 2023-01-26T19:26:36Z

Cute and funny! This is a cool idea ... harvesting cats. I like the game loop: feed, keep sand in cat loo, ... keeping cats happy. I liked that you can move cats around, did not expect that. Graphics reminds me on early PC games, cute. Sound is ok. I liked that the game is relaxing.

Froot Processor by Joel Davis 2023-01-16T23:02:14Z

Wow! Cool! First I thought ... mmmh. Then after learning the controls, I thought, nice. Then I saw some random results. On my second run I knew some of the workings, some of the customers and it was fun. On my third run I really enjoyed improving the products! Fun! Feedback: - Graphics: very nice - Sound: ok - Controls: solid, but sometimes felt a bit fiddly (as the Z and X are somehow strange) - Icons for machines: well readable - Changing from fruit to pie to shake to ... nice and well understandable - I did not like that the customers/ shops were hidden when seeing the playfield, i.e. I always forgot what was where and what was rejected etc. I would have liked them to be shown all the time ... I know difficult on a Pico-8 screen - Harvest theme: OK, kind of "post-harvest" what you did, but good! - I love the naming of the products!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Superfancy canned watermelon pie ... not sure if that exists, but the ones I saw were cool! Congratulations!

Froot by dob 2023-01-17T16:53:32Z

Great use of AI tools for the art (i.e. using tool, selecting, preparing). The results are impressive. Sound ... I only could hear a humming thing, not much. Controls do not fit me at all: I like simple intuitive controls and had a hard time with this. 1. felt like a random distribution of functions to the keyboard 2. I believe that the game could be done with one or two buttons/ keys (besides the steering), but here are many 3. Not everybody has a numpad nowadays (e.g. on laptops) Your core game mechanic is nice and well implemented (grow, collect, bring to truck loader, truck moves). The meta game is solid. Overall an impressive result for a game jam!

P.S.: One note on AI created art. Your machines, rats, ... are very concrete. I strongly think that they fit 1:1 the art style of somebody out there who did the original art on which the AI learned. Don't forget that. Maybe one day an AI learns your games and takes bits and pieces (even larger) from your game and somebody creates a game, which fells like yours.

Space Harvest by lfreinoso 2023-01-16T19:03:21Z

I like the graphic style and the music! The colors are different to what I normally see, cool! One of the few non-3D-UE5 games I have ever seen, cool. Crazy idea, ... harvesting humans. But maybe that's what aliens would do, if they see us just as a crop. Game play simple, but nice.

Vegetableau by bentglasstube 2023-01-19T19:06:39Z

Wow! Very nice! I normally do not like shift/ reshuffle games. But I did like yours! Let me think why: - the controls are surprisingly intuitive, straight forward - the goal is not one-fixed-solution, but there are multiple solutions - I think this is the main reason why I like it over any other such game Overall: - solid implementation - nice graphics - nice fitting music - good difficulty ramp up (even some, like level 3 not so) - fits well the jam theme Congratulations! - Nice!

Harvest Battle Adventure by Falkreon 2023-01-10T22:26:45Z

Nice hand made graphics I understood the click/ attack. I was able to grow plants, but I did not understand where these grown plants affect the attach game loop. They grow and disapear. Leaves me puzzled. I see the four icons on the top and I think one is the seed for growing, one is clearly a coin, and I see that with the green thing on the right I can buy things. But I do not know when they appear (except coins). I "feel" the game idea/ mechanic and that is cool. But it felt a bit unclear what is actualy happening. Yes, I clicked and plants died. And I can add a seed. But it felt a bit detached from my doing. Not sure If I expressed myself wel.. I think one reason is the missing visual/ sound feedback. And the other the not clear communication of the link of the two game loops and making clear what the icons mean/ when they appear.

Void Walkers by Pope PAF 2023-01-17T12:46:05Z

Very nice feeling music. Graphics is very different to any other game - cool! Game mechanic are at the beginning a bit "unused", but with the time it "feels" better, even I cannot really explain how the mechanics is. At the beginning I was totally lost - where am I. Yes the dot "shows" the direction, still. I was not able to get out of a dimension after completing it, not clear how. Overall a cool mood, sureal experience. Feels like I am a bacteria or something in the body of the host.

Safari on Mac did work well.

🥕 Grow a Carrot! 🥕 by pauljs 2023-01-10T22:16:11Z

Nice graphics with very little resources! The repeating pattern and especially the vignette effect gives it a very nice touch (I must remember this). Nice little portrait mode game. The best portrait mode game so far! ... Just joking. Nice game!

M.E.A.T. Rancher 2199 by Brendo 2023-01-16T23:24:08Z

One of my top three in this game jam (about 30 played so far)!!! I love the feel, feedback. It feels satisfying to harvest! I like the dynamics of the growing, going for 100x, avoiding being shot, having to go back. Always on the move. Cool! Graphics is very nice and music fits the dynamics. Polished overall. Only thing I did not like: when dying, I could not see anymore my highscore :-( And too much screenshake .. I understand that you want to have impact. But continuous high "impact" after a while does not feel anymore like a lot. And it hurts the brain after a while. Congratulations!!!

Harvest Day by Linus Lindberg 2023-01-08T21:52:49Z

Tree of Destiny by givit-game-studios 2023-01-19T18:58:43Z

A classic dungeon crawler. Felt claustrophobic, as dungeons have to be. In battle I did not really "feel" if a bug was hit. Solid game. Very big indeed for a game jam.

Furious Farm: Total Reap-Out by TRASEVOL_DOG 2023-01-17T12:38:43Z

Island Survivor by ursagames 2023-01-10T22:13:37Z

Acornville Escape Room by candlesan 2023-01-19T18:55:54Z

A classic escape room. Small classic puzzles. Very solid clean complete implementation. Controls too me felt a bit too "narrow" (having to be very close to be able to interact).

Harvest Me, Harvest Me Not by outstar 2023-01-10T21:42:14Z

Wonderful drawing style! I love the cat! Very funny story. I really enjoyed it. The only thing that does not fit too well is the font. Some handwritten one for instance could be good. Standard game mechanics, but that's ok. Its about the story and characters. Even the dialogues were ... long. I am a strong believer that each line (or two one for each) should have a meaning, else I just click, click, click. Death mumbles a lot, ... too much I think. Nicer game for a jam.

Whap Harvest by pushmepullyu 2023-01-14T22:21:01Z

Nice little game! Nice graphics. Missing music. Good idea with the catching fish. The bear felt a bit too slow to me. In a post jam version you could add some sfx, maybe some visuals that show that the bear ate the salmon. One thing I did not like was that 4/5 of the screen is completely unused.

Bas by salmonmoose 2023-01-10T21:11:05Z

Oh. It does not work on my latest Chrome on Mac OS, even Chrome crashed. That's a pity. I was looking forward to play the game.

Harvey the Harvester by Simone 2023-01-16T19:15:28Z

Surprisingly impressive art style ... Cool you were able to use AI during a jam to create such visuals! And they fit the theme. Music is solid and fitting. Game mechanics is very standard, nothing special. But impressed you were able to implement it during a game jam! Still not well balanced, but I would not expect it to be in a jam (to much shield for player, too strong weapons, ...). Game mechanics do not fit the theme. Overall a big game for a jam. The visuals stand out ...

It's Corn! by grid96 2023-01-16T12:07:12Z

Help! It's Raining Seeds by VaizAragorn 2023-01-11T22:49:04Z

Cool ❤️ This is a very nice mix of platformer and "press the right directions"! 🥕 Controls felt a bit stiff. Music fits and graphics is nice.

I would have loved to be able to hit the bird 🦅 with some vegetables 🥬. It felt like I would be able to hit it. First I thought that is the goal of the game. What are the green boxes 🟩 at each end of the level? Container? Any purpose?

A nice surprise entry in the jam. I like it very much!!!

Loot Chachos by Kiddy 2023-01-16T22:40:59Z

Very nice graphics (and lots of variety) and fitting sound. I understood the basics, but I did not really get: - feeding the animals with "E" did not really work, they continued straight ahead and ate my crop - using "W" to harvest??? When using "W" often the plant disapeared, then often it became a different one, then another appeared in addition at the side ... did not understand - Cachet went up and down, ok. But I did only a bit see that it went up when harvesting. Maybe some visual feedback of what happens would be helpful (not expecting for game jam, but maybe in update). Overall impressive for a game jam!!!

Drought by CalicoSpartan 2023-01-10T21:57:35Z

Harvesting ... water. That's an interesting twist. Solid graphics. But there are two "styles" that look different: collecting and the isometric view. I like the concept: 1. skill water collecting 2. RT water dissemination. The visuals about the trees getting brown felt a bit too subtle. Great for a game jam!!! Congratulations. Now some comments, for things I would not expect in the game jam, fine tuning things. - the two graphic styles, make them one - clearer visuals on the state the areas - different areas: forest and crop fields (that's where the food comes from ...?) - instead of entering numbers another way of disseminating; in the game it feels like a break of the player moving the bucket, which is kind of physical and the player entering numbers and looking up at the gallons, ... in my brain these are two different things and it breaks the flow ... not sure if I am making myself clear I think there is potential to make a proper game out of the concept!

Samhain by daitli 2023-01-10T21:18:09Z

I am really impressed about the graphics, the overall visual style and feel!!! Wow. gread doing this in a game jam. I had difficulties with the controls, they felt a bit unresponsive.

The Eversoul by Substain 2023-01-10T19:46:00Z

I love the way the "dark soul knights" look like, spiky cool! The music drives well the action. Nice idea with the indirect attack of the castle. Great you did this with a team, I assume it is challenging to coordinate!

Sky Harvest by vrerabek 2023-01-10T21:34:42Z

I am impressed. Just in an afternoon. Great! I like the style: graphics and music. Feel both VCS2600. It is a difficult game. Even frustrating. As the pointer moves fast, is short and the character flies balisticaly. I did not make 10 points. I did not see the harvest theme in the game, except for the title and description. Congratulations for a nice little game ... especially done in an afternoon.

Astral Aberration by ModdingMachine 2023-01-11T22:55:36Z

That's a lot in one game. Really a lot. Impressive you did this in a game jam! Even it does feel unsurprisingly incomplete. Controls of the ship in space are ok. To me they felt a bit stiff. But that might just be because I normally use controller and the WASD mapping you used felt unnatural to me. I got lost in the ship. I mean I had no idea what to do. Harvest = asteroid mining: ok. Sound in ship fits well. ... Is that a diesel engine in a space ship?⛽️ Graphics is nice. I wish you two success with bringing the game to a completion.

Alien Cropping by CodeForJoyCaro 2023-01-10T21:28:09Z

Nice you did a Mac version :-) I love the colour choice, overall mood of the game! Especially the coloring, animation of the alien-robots as well as the "trees with the perforated mushroom umbrellas". As always a very caroesque moody cool world!!! I would have liked some visual(accoutic) feedback when hitting (or not hitting) the robots. It felt often that I did not hit, seems only the body could be shot at, but I don't really know. It took me very very long to find the seeds ... Nice moody entry.

Barvest: The Iconic Bug Harvest of 2005 by picross 2023-01-14T22:33:27Z

Thats a big game for a game jam!!! Really cool! I love the animation of the spider, I love the spider. I cannot see the "harvest" theme. I had several times glitches: after falling down (cool animation) and reappearing, the spider automatically ran and I could not do anything. One time the game froze and my browser crashed. But overall cool game!!!

Doki Doki Ninjin by ChevalBancal 2023-01-19T19:16:24Z

Congratulations for a big game in a short game jam! You added some nice twists to the classic jump'n'run: - I like exploding tomatoes - I like in general the game mechanic of harvesting Very nice/ solid graphics. Controls are good (not yet production like, as they feel a little bit stiff). And please add controller support in later version. I give you 9 golden carrots out of 10!

Wheat Master by nyxkn 2023-01-08T21:57:42Z

Very cool, nice, relaxed, enjoyable clicker game! - Music is good, easy to listen for a longer time. - Graphics is well fitting, consistent. - Game mechanic is a cool blend between clicker and ... tile placement, ... game. I like it very much. - Surprisingly well balanced for a jam game. - Thank you for the ? extra, ... I think I would have continued for much longer ... addiction Congratulations! Very addicting game.

Fruit Picker by Harmadillo 2023-01-16T19:20:48Z

Nice and complete game. Graphics are very fitting, the whole package of all graphics is really nice. Music is ok, does not really fit the graphics theme. Good game mechanics idea: mix of jump'n'run and physics building. Many levels and good ramp op of mechanics and complexity. Controls are a bit fiddly, but that might be just me, being used to controller/pad. Overall a good entry.

Hare Runner by Crychair 2023-01-17T17:02:06Z

Such a stylish, special slash'em'up in bullet hell style! I like the graphics very much (color palette, the sprites, ...). Music fits very well! Great you allow to use controller!!! Feel fluid. "Crouching" short-cut is nice way to keep it in (probably you did not have enough time). Even I did not really know when to practically use. I love the voice over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "You have to beat the corn! It's huge and delicious!" Yeah!

Moon Harvester by owca 2023-01-10T21:02:23Z

I love the graphics and the moody very fitting sound scape! I like the setting, in a crater, so the level borders don't feel artificial but somehow fitting to the world ... I mean moon. I was a bit overwhelmed at first with all the numbers, but I understood after a while. I did not really understand the harverster's damage. I had cases where the harvester went in circle and breaking. Impressive for a game jam!

Maize - Harvest Edition LD52 by Itzemii 2023-01-26T19:30:07Z

@yvanor Thank you for playing the game and for the feedback! Concerning your question. With "generic self developed libraries" I mean pieces of code, acutally C# classes, which are not specific to a game, but generic. I.e. I can use them in any game. For instance, the pooling (means: creating game objects, but not destroying when not needed, but storing them until needed again). You can find all the generic libraries in the source code zip in the folder "General". While all other is specific for the game.

Combine Harvester: Time Attack! by Christian Zommerfelds 2023-01-11T15:51:46Z

Satisfying to harvest a field completely!!! Your game vey well triggers this completion, "clean-up" feel. I like the little, simple but effective animation of the harvester (the wheels turning into the direction). I love the controls: like driving an RC harvester. Very nice game!

Eden Harvest by KeichiTS 2023-01-16T23:47:20Z

A rollercoaster for me: - I did not like the epic introduction text at the beginning at all. This is not an epic movie ... - I like the mood, graphics and music. Fits very well. - I did first not understand, but after a bit of "talking" I understood. - Then I delivered a rose, but the colors changed to white - Then I thought, cool. The color is only visible when far away - THATS actually cool, even it seems you consider it as a bug - Then I delivered everything, but the game did not end. I put the roses close to the people asking for them ... I think right colors, but no end. Frustrated

Overall: A special experience. A nice game. An artwork. Cryptic. Romantic. Frustrating not to know if a rose was correctly delivered. Congratulations! For me the most emotional game: content wise, and unfortunately as well on the meta level, as written above.

EarthWorm Bob by Senso 2023-01-17T21:57:33Z

That's a hard game. I did not make it. A raven it was the last time ... Great game!!! Cool graphics, cool speech-sfx. Very funny. Very nice/ fluid controls. I would have liked the camera a little bit zoomed out. Too difficult (first level?). Congratulations for the big, fun game!

Mineralia by googlypoo 2023-01-14T22:23:13Z

Wow! Very polished and complex for a game jam! Surprisingly well balanced. I think it is worth adding things (larger, more difficult, ...) in a post jam version.

Grandma's Garden of Crystals by Xlores Liang 2023-01-10T21:08:38Z

You did a long story for a game jam, wow. Impressive. I understand that you did it to honour your grandmother. That is a very nice thing! These kind of games are not my type. But I loved the graphics, the mood and the sound scape.

Another Harvester Game by Sleeping Dog 2023-01-11T22:59:36Z

Cool idea to have the timer-up being the main goal of the game. I was expecting that I have to complete a field. But that does not matter. Just drive and get green clocks and don't hit a rock. On the graphics side: When zoomed out the chosen corn sprite/ texture terrible flickered. I had to zoom in. The little music fits the harvesting in the mid west of the US.

Orbital Oranges by MisterIXI 2023-01-12T20:40:27Z

Wow. Fantastic looking game!!! I am impressed. I have seen "ready" games which do not look as good!

(Test) by TweekStudios 2023-01-17T12:53:01Z

Such a nice looking, very well playable little game! Brought down to the bare essentials makes this game very special. It is more than a prototype. It has its own right of existence! I like the graphics and animation! And I like very very much that you kept it to the important game cycle: dig, collect seed, plant, water, ... I have played a few games who made it more complex and failed, as it was either clumsy or not finished. But your game focused on the core - that is an art in itself! Congratulations!!!

The Polar Vet and the Non-Swimming Penguin by bezbiletnym 2023-01-14T22:29:16Z

This is a very polished, nice looking game. Even animations of the water - looks good without being too much. No uncleanliness, bugs. That's great for a game jam! I can see a bit the harvest theme. The game idea is very much Sokoban, but that's ok. Congratulations for a complete game!!!

Olive Harvest by reivilibre 2023-01-14T22:39:13Z

Wow! You implemented the whole production pipeline: harvest, transport to squeezer, squeeze, load onto delivery truck!!! And a cool Kiwi! The controls feel very stiff, but that's acceptable for a game jam game. Congratulations for the perfect match of the jam theme with a nice little, ... actually quiet complex game!

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Barn by Lila Pause 2023-01-10T21:38:43Z

Nice graphics. The music is nice, but I don't think it fits the theme. I must admit that I did not understand the game. I did not find the keys to plant, kill animals, build, grow, harvest anything. I am very confused. The animals are far too fast.

Ratalie's Escape by masternoob 2023-01-10T22:05:17Z

Nice! First I thought: that's a simple game. Then I noticed that I have to rescue the other rats. Then I noticed that I can collect the corns. Then I had "the power". Cool! The necessity to go back to collect corn/ to be not too fast is great! Controls felt unresponsive, the jumping felt not really too control-able. I did not really get when the rat jumps higher, there were at least cases where the rat jumped very high. But it might just be me, I am normally used to play with controller. Overall cool idea, mechanics and it fits the theme!!!

Moon Harvest by swarrizard 2023-01-26T19:22:26Z

I like the idea and the very solid mechanics. I.e. I love the way the rover moves and flips. Very nice! Graphics is ok. I like the engineS "blobblobblob..." sound! Cool little game! I believe that you could take the mechanics and turn it into something bigger: a 2d platform exploration or something like that.

Down to Earth by Chum Chum 2023-01-10T21:15:23Z

Interesting mix of twin stick shooter and farming game. I had a very hard time with the controls. But that might just be me. I am used to play with game pad. Nice animations, nice 8 bit graphics. Sound is very basic. Doing all of what you did in a compo is fantastic! Congratulations!

Techno Plants by morpheyz 2023-01-16T12:22:53Z

Awesome! This is a fun fun game! I normally avoid rhythm games. But I liked this one. I was disapointed that there are only three levels ... I kept on playing. I love the graphics and the dancing sun flower and the little insects and ... Music is techno, ... you know. Easy to get the beat. Good. Congratulations to the fun fun game!
