Hehe fun, got stuck after the 2nd jump spot where it looks like mario tower blocks.
I like the art here, but I'm having a hard time understanding exactly what to do. It feels easy to get the bomb stuck in a corner where you can no longer get it to jump up to a platform. I also get a really low framerate that makes it hard to play. The description says that you find fuses in the wild, but I haven't actually seen the fuses. I just explore and the bomb eventually explodes sometimes.
I really like the idea of a sort of 'escort platformer' where you have to bring the bomb along with you. I think there is a good amount of potential here for puzzle-esque platforming and interesting interactions.
Really difficult to control but I can see there's definitely room for mastery, speedruns or TAS of this game would look incredible, hard to kick the bomb around, where are the fuses? It's fun to bounce around lol cute funny game
Fun, but very challenging. The art is great and I love the retro screen effect. The music is also great and fits it well.
@bitdecay Thank you for playing! You can always get the bomb going again, sometimes it can help to jump on top of it to get it bouncing more.
Sorry about the confusion with the fuses, they are only a story element, the only thing you need to do game mechanic wise is to touch the bomb at least every 10 seconds, or it will explode.
@apphons6 Thank you for trying our game! Yeah, maybe we made the map a bit hard. Let's just say we got a lot of practice wile play testing lol.
Sorry, the fuses are only meant to be a story thing. In practice, you only have to touch the bomb at least once every 10 seconds, or the bomb explodes!
@moasip Thank you!
Wow. First one I've played. You really set the bar high! Fun mechanics, neat graphics, brilliant URL level generator. Very well polished!
@deathhound Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it!
Phew, this was challenging! After reaching the top twice I finally managed to beat it. The first time I wasn't sure what to do once I got up there, so I just tried to bounce it as high as possible, and then it fell down and I had to start over
It's a solid game, but can feel a bit unfair at some points when you have to almost glitch jump the bomb when it's stuck in a corner. It would be nice with a timer that showed how long it took the player to beat the game, and also optional checkpoints to make it a bit more forgiving.
Other than that I liked this game, but got really mad at it at the same time :D
Nice job!
@jefvel Thanks and I'm glad you like it! Good job on making it to the top and yeah it can be a bit frustrating XD
This is great! The game mechanics idea is cool. And it is implemented very very well. Controls are fine and the bomb behaves fair and controllable. I did not expect it to be possible to control it, but it is, intuitively. Well done on that! Graphics is nice and music is very fitting. I like that just the bomb explodes, but not the player, room, village, country, world, ... Congratulations!
Overall really like this, got quite frustrating though when I got the bomb to the top and it fell down on the side :D I would recommend a few simpler levels to get players into it before turning up the difficulty. But who am I to say that, I make my own games too hard all the time as well, so don't listen to me :)
Clever idea and as itzemii said I like the ending with just the bomb exploding, thats nice.
Thanks for the feedback @itzemii and @marc-grabow !
Love the look of this game, especially the CRT look is awesome. A bit too hard and unforgiving for my taste though, clumsy as I am. Ectra kudos for the possibility to build customer maps!
I think the idea was interesting, I kept having the bomb get stuck though and not being able to get it off the ground, maybe a way to like kick the bomb upwards might be nice? Visuals looked nice also!
@Lychee Yeah, being able to kick the bomb up is a good idea. It is possible to get it moving again by jumping and hitting the bomb at varying distances, but it can be a bit tricky. Since that isn't really the thing about this game that should be hard, I think your idea is smart!
Fun, but super frustrating!
The game looks good. You used good effects and it feels good.
But it is really way too hard from the start. It is already hard to just go to the first floor. Or maybe I'm just bad.
Also like alreay said, the bomb is hard to handle. After a while I found a way to unstuck it by jumping on it. It got a little better from there.
man this game is frustrating and reminds me of "Getting over it" it took me so long to get pass

and when i got up there and the bomb rolled down, I gave up =/.
Congrats on the submission :)
I am having a hard time with the controls. Moving the bomb around is rather difficult and I wish there was a way to more easily get it airborne again. That being said, it's a cool idea with cute music and art. The concept of having a pet bomb is very amusing as well.
I think there is something quite fun in these bomb mechanics, and I want to try to explain...
So my favorite moment when playing happened when I was on the yellow platform straight above the starting area. Here, I figured out that I can let the bomb bounce to the left wall, and then jump up under it (as long as it is currently bouncing high enough). This feels like a very natural technique built on the bomb physics, and it works well and feels good.
I think what would make me really enjoy this game is if the bomb physics were tweaked so that this kind of feeling is more consistent throughout the game. Most of the time, the bomb is just bouncing up and down in a sort of tiny hop that doesn't really make sense to try to control. So, the physics most of the time are just about running into the bomb and hoping it helps some how.
But those moments where the physics have some controllable nature to them (even though they are still chaotic) are the best, I think. Because it is fun to try to manipulate chaotic physics when they react in an intuitive way with the player. I mean, that's the core mechanic of Getting Over It--physics that are very strange but nonetheless eminently controllable and learnable.
So I think this game has a lot going for it as a difficult platformer. I also think that the graphics and audio come together pretty well here; I especially like the ridiculous grin on the main character's face. The only changes I would make is to hone in on the fun part of the difficulty more precisely.
It is like an escort mission game but your escort is trying to kill you XD. I think the concept is interesting.
I found some of the jumps very difficult to accomplish and the bomb is very difficult to control. I think the game would be more fun with more open spaces and if the character is less limited in the movement (e.g. could jump higher).
