i figured it by accident as well. I think the fact that I can't type "Help" before the "tutorial" is finish is quite bad.

I hate g6 , the double or nothing game
I thought the map is kind of big =)
Not sure what else I can say since Crowbeak said it. Good job =). Kind of addictive
Thanks :P . Initially I wanted to introduce the victims one by one but I only managed to finish this at 3am(deadline at 10am) :X so I decided to cut features, which is an important lesson I learnt from this participation.
you might need .net framework. If it is not a hassle for you
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17718
I realized that I can't even collect a single ransom and it takes too long , so I modified the parameters slightly and uploaded a second version that is slightly easier and enemy is slower.
what happen ? when you click the little man icon, 6 "box" will popup and you can click those to choose who you want to kidnap. I would be interested to know what crash it ._.
I am actually thinking of making a post-LD version that is turn based instead. If I do I will update here =)
To add on to that , the bomb is really OP :D
I got through all level using cannon spamming, not sure if it is intended ;D
Thanks for the feedback. I really wanted to add a tutorial but hooking up the system takes more time than I expected :X I will make a screenshot tutorial in a bit. =)
I know it takes a while to understand =X but when you understand the concept, the game will be interesting and rewarding :P
Sorry for those who can't run. I made this primarily on osx and didn't really build it on windows until the last minute.
I will change the variable for starting cash/price to be read from file instead and update the exe again =)
I have updated a new version with some fixes. If the game is too hard, you can adjust the config file to give yourself more money by modifying the last value. If it is still too hard, you can modify the other 3 values which are the basic selling price of the different pixel.
For those that still can't run, let me know =).
The second image is kind of a tutorial/guide. Look at it if you don't understand.
I just realized that OSX I need to bundle it up into ".app" and I have never done that before. I have always used clang++. I will try to do it when I wake up.
I have uploaded a new version which package up the mac into a .app instead.
Thanks for the positive feedbacks :D. I had this idea when I was playing space chem a year ago. I didn't want to reinvent the wheel so i put it in my notebook. I couldn't find any thing to make in this 2 days so I went to my note book and see which one I really want to make. I'm glad that I made it.
You can use Q/E to rotate the chip =)
I think there should be an arrow pointing to the destination. On my last playthrough, 4 civilians surrounded me and I can't move. It was quite funny though.
The last stage is hard. .. took me like 10+ tries. Keyboard control would be good though
Nice idea.
Good job. Nice game. ;D
I expected a game like this to come out. Well executed =) I haven't beat it yet. Will try to soon :D
Please make the starting segment shorter .... Other than that nice idea !
May your next LD be better =). Every thing begins with a small step =)
Cool concept, i like it. It will probably be quite hard to do level generation, unless it is already random
really ? nice ! I kind of encounter the same stage multiple time. Will definitely replay this later since i now know it is random
An interesting take on card game :D Would be interested to see if this gets expanded.
Impressive amount of polish. Very cool concepts. I left wishing that there is more.
interesting game. Can I have this on mobile please ?
man .... that platforming .... is hard................. i spent 15 minutes on it and I still can't get through ... I thought about not rating you until end of day so that more people can suffer.
will try it later :D !
Wow short and extremely well polished.
The only complain I have is that the movement speed is too fast. It is quite hard to control the character.
very meta, i like it =) As other people mentioned, the stone is really hard to get, it should just be a hidden thing behind the boss and just for people who want to try to see what happen.
loved the concept, didn't play very long because I know how the end is like after seeing the screenshot.
I think there are many ways to expand this idea. We need more constraints. If for example, each tiles is like a tetris shape and we need to connect the input output in a confined space, that would really become interesting. There are so much that can be done in this space. :D
man too hard. got stuck on round 4. good entry
had plan for 2 more creatures; one that hunt other creatures and one that eat dead creatures, but i ended up watching the simulation too much that I didn't have time to add those in :D will at least try to finish that next week since the art is already there haha
:D glad every enjoy this. I started with a few end goals in mind, but didn't manage to get it out.
awesome, not quite sure how to view this, innovation 5/5
Nice work. The withering of the plant got me on the first try. :D
interesting concepts. :D had a good solid 5 minutes of fun. Would love to have a strong gravity tho. Didn't really like the jump
nice game, very interesting idea. Would love to see this expanded further. I don't really like the high acceleration in the movement. Perhaps lowering that would make the game more enjoyable.
Need more smaller creatures for us to eat. I couldn't find any until I was really big.
This was one of the few ideas I have :D. Glad someone tried it. Need more paths !
nice puzzle ... didn't expect that you can do so much variation.
I really like this type of choice based games. I keep trying to find new events from walking on the beach. Unless I am really unlucky, I haven't gotten any events from the beach.
Got to say... without the hint, I will never win lol .... Nice twist of the game of life
Very well done! good job. Reminded me of one of the platformer (top 3 i think) from LD45 that involve moving the world. Good luck !
What did I just play ......... Good job
I like the idea. However it is really hard to control more than 4 slime and losing after one death is really punishing. It feels like I need to try not to let them multiply to last longer.
nice take on conway game of life :D I got 1.7m ! :D
good game
nice game. I'm not sure but I think I cheesed the game with a super happy pet, not sure if that was intended.
This reminds me of flappy bird. Nice work :D
I like the idea. As mentioned, I think the difficulty can be increased, like 2x some of the requirements for the quest.
@ssstormy oxygen overdose is due to a leaking tank. You will need to fix that :D
Hint/Spoiler
- Survive for 5 minutes - There are a few incidents that will happen each with their own effects
1. Broken wire - caused an increased in power output 2. Fire - cause oxygen pressure to drop 3. Broken oxygen tank - cause oxygen to leak and increase 4. Clogged Vent - cause oxygen level to fluctuate.
- You will also need to refill the power station regularly. - To see oxygen level and overall power level and output, you will need to be near the control station in the center. If you are near the power station, you will see the power for the specific station.
@saeedprez: Noted. Updated with the arrow keys
@goldfish-games: yeah... i feel you. I had reduced the win condition time from 15minutes to 5minutes because of that. My first map was way bigger than this and there was even more moving around. Oxygen issue are usually due to fire if it is going down, or the tank leaking when it is increasing.
@nikita-demidov : intentional that I don't want people to know where the problem is. Initially I wanted to add camera objects so you can put them in places that you want to see. Perhaps I will add it next weekend.
The "victory" screen is the realization that you can't escape and you will always lose T . T perhaps should make it clearer that you can never win.
@eldar you manage to keep going for 10minutes? that's Cool, I suppose you finish all the energy cell ? That was the intention. The finite energy cell means that the game will only last 10 minutes or so, 15 if you managed to maximize all cells (swapping only when it hits 0).
Let me add a new game over screen today to indicate that there is nothing beyond that.
Thanks for the kind words and feedback @stevenjmiller @gnocchi @peterfiftyfour @kevinworkman
I had a lot planned for this initially. I wanted to have mini game for each repair but I realise that would take too much time and I might not finish the game and decided to cut them out of the scope a few hours in. I also had ideas for "Camera" so you can place them and have more control. I also wanted to have more type of incidents but I feel that would confuse the players way too much for this LD, so I also cut them and prefer to make a tighter game instead.
Planning to see if i can expand this ideas a bit more and polish it up in the near future =). Do follow my itch and I will post it there :D
nice execution. Really enjoy TD and this brings back memories.
nice concepts. I think the disaster are fine, except the fire. The fire really reset your board too much. I had to hold on to blocks to recover from fire specifically. Having to remove the X from the board using only 3x3 delete is really hard.
Nice concept. Don't want to repeat what others have said, but many of the failure is due to me having to click before going back to keyboard. Adding a SPACE to restart would really make the game more enjoyable :D
Love the concept and really fun. May not have play far enough (200pts+) but I think it needs to be a bit more difficult. Don't seems like there are other ways to lose health unless I am missing something. Overall quite fun. Please tag me if you increase the difficulty. I am a sucker for card games and would enjoy more in my life :D, especially one that does not involve fighting monster.
You need to make your game public. I am not sure how someone already rated your game :D
I really enjoyed this one, even though it is a bit short. I was actually sad when it ended.
The last stage is interesting. I think I had your intended solution but didn't know that there were other solutions.
Good job on this.
Nice game ! I tried really hard to get pass 100 but I keep getting stuck at 90+. Good job. I realy enjoy it. I think I played it like 10~15 times.
Screenshot 2020-10-06 103223.png
Towards the end, the chaos is really perfect and satisfying. You keep pulling the strings and things just keep matching lol ...
Just curious, what is "productivity?" I couldn't figure that out.
I was skeptical when I saw a "deckbuilder" but this is really fun.
The slash card is not as strong as the shoot. I tried to dash slash but that didn't turn out well. For 1, I couldn't slash upwards and that really means I can't use it to hit the flying enemies.
and 2, the card order changed when I executed the dash sometimes screw me over. I would have dash in the first slot and slash in the second, and my brain naturally left click + right click, which as it turns out, didn't work. I wonder if the card replacing the used slot might be better than flowing down.
However, those are small problem. This is a fun game. =) good job on the execution.
Thanks for the game ! :D
Simple and short point and click adventure. Nice humor but not sure why you opt out of the humor category.
Thanks for the game !
Nice game ! I had so much passengers that the game starts to lag.
If there is an end goal that would be nice, like a score or a place to drop the passenger.
okay .. how is this made in 72hr ?
I played for 15 minutes and this is awesome. It is almost a full game and very impressive. I really love the gameplay and how tight the control is, how fun adding new room is, and how each loop get harder and harder.
I am definitely coming back later to beat this.
Good job !
Edit: Finally beat it
chamber.png
Great graphics and execution.
Took me a lot of tries to get what I am suppose to do and the timing is really tight.
Having multiple endings rather than a single forced endings might make it better. Like for example, instead of "death", perhaps if you sacrifice the infant wrongly, you get a different ending from the real one. Put a ending unlocks at the menu will allow us to play around more to find other endings, and eventually the main ending.
Overall I really enjoy it and thanks for the game !
Nice game ! Despite being a short game, the last stage is really hard. I am not sure If I overthink it or I accidentally stumbled into a solution.
Would love to see more puzzles.
Pretty sure my last stage have a different answer than yours :D. I think I brute forced it lol ....
I like the idea, a simple RTS. However, it is really hard. perhaps tune down the difficulty a bit.
Nice. I managed to get to the end ? I think, but I went to the bed and the game "froze" ? anne-topological-adventure.png
Nice game. I really like the new take on sokoban. I am not that familiar with those topology concept but the arrow really helped in understanding how it works.
Thanks for the game !
I saw your idea at the start of the jam and I told myself I must play this game when it is done.
Glad you finished it and it is really innovative and a good interpretation of the theme. I really like the design of the quests and the character. Even though it is very obvious what you need to do, the game still surprised me with what is possible.
Good work and thanks for the game !
@pepijn definitely. I usually don't like to make games in well defined genre like top down shooter or platformer during a jam. I don't like the theme this time round, and I don't really want to do the obvious as well; groundhog day, time loop, spatial loop etc.
I just kind of decided to just make a game and try to make it fun and addictive instead.
Thanks all for playing !
Thanks for playing !
I really wanted to implement weapons and powerup, which was why I had an ammo system. However, I realised that the game is already quite complex as it is, hence decided to opt for making sure the game is balanced and fun and not too punishing.
The game was originally just hell mode but I zoom realised it was too hard for others. It was fun for me but I already had played for hours by that point in time. Focusing on the easier round to ease people in was definitely the better move there for me =)
@barrier There is a second control scheme that you can choose in the menu screen which is a 2 key control. Have a try and see how that feels
@fabdynamic Thanks a lot !
@zeu31 there is a 2nd control scheme. Do try that =)
thanks all for trying.
oops I misread it :D. I thought you meant "a" second control is better instead of "the" second control is better hahah. thanks !
awesome puzzle.
I am not sure if some of the puzzles I got lucky and they just look harder than it really is. I would actually love to see this idea expanded on.
I didn't understand the mechanic at first, I thought it rotated the tile. Only at round 2 then I clearly understood that it was swapping the tile. I managed to get to the end and I really enjoyed it.
Thanks for the game !
Edit: I just realised the name of the game LOL .. should have realised it was swapping and not rotating.
Great game.
I knew that someone will make a game like this. Glad to play it.
Ale mention to show a gauge on how far 1s is and I also agree that it will really help. Most of the time the solution is obvious, and mostly just trial and error to get the timing right.
I really enjoy it tho.
Good game and thanks for the game.
Nice ! a roguelike.
Would love to see some animations when casting the spells :D May try for a higher score later.
Good implementation and interpretation of the theme.
Although many of us managed to complete it, I suspect that restarting people to the start of the game when they die might means that some people give up and didn't complete it, especially at the more enemy segment.
Definitely a must play for this year jam.
The combat mechanic is fun, takes a while to get used to, but after that it become easier.
I thought the wood and stone can be used for crafting or something, and was sadly disappointed. Tried to look around for secrets but didn't find any (unless I totally missed it).
Overally I like it, especially the mood that you set. Perhaps make the screen a bit darker to sell the mood.
Thanks for the game !
Good job on the execution. I think you capture the mood very well, especially at the last stage, where the emptiness and loneliness is on point.
I didn't vote in the humor category, and like Meek-bits, I would suggest you opt out of it as well.
Stay safe everyone.
Nice game. Took me a while to get used to the control.
I managed to get to the top of the leaderboard ;D
Since you played my game as well, I think we both shared the same problems with control, which is that "left" and "right" don't really work when you are in a circle. I wished you have implemented my other control, which may allow me to get a higher score :D
But overall, I really like this idea, the music is on point (although it stopped at the end), and it did get me into the zoom. The ring though .. what a bait. I can't count how many time I lose health just to get the ring and I don't even know what they do or if they are worth it.
Thanks for the game !
Nice game. I got to the end. intheloop.png
Really enjoy the puzzle. Some are really nice and really requires precise execution, while others requires thinking outside box. There were also a few that I overthink it, and overlooked the most obvious solution.
Thanks for the game !
This is like a mini metroidvania. Good job on putting so many mechanics into a game.
Thanks for the game.
the humor is pretty dark. Not sure how this fits into the theme but a fun game nevertheless.
Managed to find a strategy of camping their base and wait out the death of the opponent.
Reminded me of simants
Screenshot 2021-04-28 at 9.35.47 PM.png Overall a great game, but I would love to see more features tho.
your game always have that level of polish. Really enjoy the the water "physics". Thanks for the game ! (and the source code)
simple but fun game. There are some things that I wish were different
1. Having a jump. Okay this is cheating since I also like that it is simple, but I think the game might actually be more fun with jumping. 2. Hitting the spike almost always loses you 2 health. Not sure how you can change this tho. 3. "Powerup" having negative effects. I kind of don't like working for something, and having it be negative, but I think this is personal opinion.
Overall simple and clean execution.
Once in a while you come across a game during a game jam that makes you ask the question, "why isn't this a thing yet ?" and this is one of those.
Bomberman platformer, I really can't believe it doesn't exists yet. If it already exists, then please link me the game. If not, this is a great game and a great MVP to showcase how fun it will be :D
Great game !
Screenshot 2021-04-26 at 10.35.13 PM.png okay ... this must be the craziest idea I have seen so far. I am saving this for later.
Nice simple game, although I wish to have more, for example using button control instead 1 click control. For example, instead of just 1 click, what if we have to press different key(s) at each obstacle like some type of quick time event mini games, that would be kind of fun.
beautiful graphics, great audio and a gameplay that fits the theme. Good work here. took me 3 tries to get to eden.
thanks for playing ! i created the bounce when the game wasnt this fast pace. i decided to keep it in since it is time based so having a non-lethal way to disrupt the players is also quite interesting. will definitely remove it after ld jam rating so the game will be more fun
as for bouncing of the screen, i will likely fix that after ldjam as well
Nice entry, reminds me a bit of dig dug for some reason.
One thing that I thought was interesting is that having a longer hook is actually a drawback because missing it almost guaranteed you to take some damage.
If there is an indicator of how deep I have went would be good too.
beautiful graphics and great audio.
Some of the spikes are really to cross with the slippery control. Having a time mechanic without a way to recover puts a limit on how far we can go. If there is a way to regain health, or remove the time mechanic it would be better.
Cool concept, I haven't beat it yet, but will post the screen shot once I do. I want to write down the comments before I forget.
I really enjoy the mechanic of minesweeper, and I like the twist that not all danger are bad. I actively seek out bio to farm the damage and I kind of thought that was really good.
If you implement the click on "0" danger to open surrounding, that would be great. I can see myself coming back to this once in a while when i have the itch of minesweepr so maybe put it on itch.io so people can bookmark it
NOOOOOOOOOO I misclick a few times and forget to heal =(... i had 20k ..... and I couldn't screenshot because it just go into the gameover screen...
Some final thoughts
1. The level is too big for a LD game, cut it by half will probably make the game a lot more enjoyable for more people. (people like to feel like they beat the game) 2. I like how the 3 layers add various level of deduction to the game. I mostly use danger + bio but when there isn't any safe spot after using those, I switch to Loot. 3. I misclick a lot of time while trying to move the map around, so either make the map smaller or use other button (like right click) for moving the map.
I'm still salty about my misclick-death, but I really enjoy the game. Good job
What i mean by smaller is to shrink the playable area. I suspect that will screw up the balance a bit, but that would make the game shorter and much more enjoyable for a game jam game. It will not be needed if I can actually save and come back later =/
That's just me tho, I still enjoy the game a lot and might want to tinker with similar mechanics myself :P
great game, I really like the graphic. The game is really challenging though. I should have read the comment before hand because I spent 5 games without the hud so I didn't really know that I had other items.
A single hit death is really punishing for this type of game. However, overall it is still a fun experience. only managed to get to floor 4 after 10 minutes.
nice short game, really love the mood. Thanks for putting the berries on the return journey or the game would really be unbeatable.
you got me at the first weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee I guess that is a hit or miss depends on individual
interesting mechanic, great graphics and audio. Others have already mention this, I find the dialog skipping very disruptive, and having the same control to skip the dialog and drill makes it that sometimes we just skip the dialog when we didn't want to.
Overall nice entry.
Screenshot 2021-04-26 at 10.11.00 PM.png
Okay I play it longer than I would like to admit.
I like that the slower is technically easier, but if you master the faster one, you can actually get a higher score. The red 1 is just not possible
Nice ! I played quite a few roguelike and I like the chess mechanic here. It fit quite nicely in it. I didn't expect that making zombie turn takes a turn can increase the depth so much.
Thanks for the game !
I enjoy the game and the graphics and audio really fits the game. However, i feel that the game is a bit too unforgiving. I am saying this from playing the game for a good 20 minutes (see screenshot)
1. The 1 gap collision is too tight for the game, and too punishing. If you missed those, you just lose the game. The door's gap is also sometimes quite unforgiving. 2. Forcing the player to trigger the switch at close range is too random when the switch and door is far away, that is almost a gameover due to chance. 3. The incentive to pick up gold is too low for the risk. 4. The camera is too fast. 5. Adding on to (4), and without considering the switches being far from the door, the time it takes to move from left to right is longer than the camera movement. I have died countless time due to the rng forcing me to move from left to right and right to left 3 times in a row
Due to how unforgiving the game is, I am not sure if many get to enjoy your other mechanic, like the shop mechanics.
Having said all these, this is really a good game for your first jam :D. Good Job. I rarely play a game jam game for more than 10 minutes, and this is one of those few. I also rarely write such a long comment.
(I also discover a bug that slows down the game lol, not sure if that was intended. if that was the original speed that the game is in, then it is actually quite enjoyable)
Screenshot 2021-04-28 at 4.41.05 PM.png
Neat mechanic. I think there are lot left to explore in this mechanics.
One thing I thought I could do is to chain my double jump; i.e. after a jump, I wish can quick switch to another dog to jump even higher. That might add some new depth to the game.
Good job on the submission.
dogs.gif
Screenshot 2021-10-05 at 2.48.27 PM.png The last stage is so hard.. took me way too long to clear it. Wouldn't mind a few other mechanics as well.
Congrats on the submission.
Interesting game. I thought the lag at the higher level is part of the game LOL.... I guess that is one of the problem of this theme, you can't really know if it is intended or not.
I managed to get a higher score, could have went higher if not for the lag =/
Thanks for the game :D
I can't believed that you wrap a endless runner in a crypto skin ....
Good job! Quite a interesting twist on the mechanic :D.
Might be just me, but the price always goes down eventually ... and I think that is quite close to reality so I guess that is intended.
Horse Alchemist Simulator !
I like the idea. I don't usually play much of these type of simulator games but I really enjoy this one. I find myself getting rid of all the things that I don't need first instead of properly putting things in. This is really a wasteful way to do alchemy so I am glad I'm not one :P
Un-"Stable(noun)", one of the interesting take on the theme that I saw.
Good and clean implementation on the shokoban genre. Would love a few harder levels at the end =).
Thanks for the game.
Nice. Managed to beat all the stages.
Screenshot 2021-10-05 at 1.06.50 AM.png
The last 2 stage is really challenging. Good job !
Interesting concept. It took me at least 5 minutes to figure out how to play the game. A better explanation in the description would be helpful. For example, I didn't know that I need to select the rocket in order to control it.
Quite fun to have to control the various rocket. Not sure if intended, but seems like letting all except 1 rocket alive is the best strategy for highscore, although it is not the best thing to happen to the other rockets.
Very relaxing game. I only managed to find 4 of the encounters. Really enjoy my time with it :D.
Good job.
I really hate 7th stage. Having to do 1 pixel perfect aim is already darn hard, having to do 2 in a real is really way too hard. I spent like 10 minutes on it.
@mahjoub no worries. I am not hating it lol .. I really enjoy the mechanics :D
But man... when you hit 1 of the balls, and miss the second one for at least 5 times, it get frustrating =/
Nice combination of ideas.
I really like how the brain get used to the portal instead of the a bounce like traditional pong. I would love to see the ability to switch between bounce and portal mode some how.
One of the level I ended up in a situation with 0 energy and had to clear the stage the hard way. I wonder if it is better if the player have less energy.
Good job on the submission.
@bluemaus yeap those lines are screen glitches and are intentional. You can reboot your phone to clear them.
@nafe I agree. I would like to say that I would add more screens post LD but I seldom revisit my LD games. I started with 10 minutes but I figured no one would sit through a 10 minute LD game of hectic management, so I shrink it down to 3 minutes.
The game is actually quite beatable, as the initial fuel can last you about 1 minute.
@marc-grabow have you try turning it off and on again :D ? (there is a reboot button at the bottom)
but yeah overall the glitch is meant to force you to reboot the phone.
Thanks all for the play. I guess I will spend my time from now till next LD to get myself familiar with sound and music. I usually play most of my games with sound off, hence the lack of sound in most of my games.
@digitaldude555 Thanks! For the most part if you burn and mine a few material, the game is quite easy to finish.
@0x-void-x0 glad you like it. I was initially going for a power plant similar to "Cook, Serve, Delicious"/"Papers, Please" but the restriction i enforced on myself (i.e. Mobile friendly) just essentially created the mobile OS theme.
@reccy Thank you ! Have you try turning it on and off again ? :D the reboot button is your friend.
@simonchik I think the difficulty is a hard one. Initially it was way harder than this, but if you see the comments, some people still find this version quite hard =/ I didn't want to bring the immersion down by putting a difficulty setting at the main menu. Definitely agree that audio will be better.
@caudatecoder Thanks a lot ! I will definitely watch it later. Did you encounter the blue screen of death ? bsod.png
Didn't want to post this so that BSOD is a surprise. I hope people have encounter it.
Edit: Watched your video. Haha I couldn't believe you could stand the flickering lines for so long. I would have rebooted it when it hit 3 or 4 lines.
Thanks for the video as well. I learnt quite a few things from your playthrough. A lot of things that was quite obvious to me wasn't that obvious afterall.
@tetrapteryx I had that when I first build the game. I had 10 minutes of gameplay, with the first 3 minutes being slower and allow the player to ease into it. However it become way too slow at the start and you kind of have to wait for things to happen.
I kind of just went with the roguelike approach, make a shorter game and make you die and learn. The whole game is only 3 minutes to victory, and if you die in the first 1 or 2 minutes of the game, you can restart and the whole experience will take around 5~6 minutes long. I do see what you are getting at tho.
@jonah-srg yeah sound is really my weakness at the moment. I tend to play most of my games with sound off unless they are part of the mechanics. The strategy is actually not to panic. If you start the game by mining all the things you see, you are bound to lose since mining increases energy consumption. Without doing anything, the first minute will pass without problem, and if you burn all the stuffs in the storage at the start, you will be safe for about 1.5 minutes. In short, you only have need to survive 1.5 minutes :D
Thanks all for the play.
This is such a well designed puzzle game. I haven't finish it yet as of writing this comment and I definitely will be continuing after this. I am not sure if there are "save" and if I can continue later or will I have to start from scratch once I reload the page. If anyone can let me know that would be great.
I really love the various puzzles and the different mechanic present. I am really looking forward to the rest of the puzzle.
Adding this to one of my top pick for this year.
(Edit: Final puzzle is great. Mind almost exploded)
Yeap played witness, but the 3D makes me giddy, so I couldn't continue as much as I want.
The puzzle difficulty is quite well-paced, but I suspect people may have trouble getting the last 2 rules; the "dot", and the "double-line" (avoiding spoilers)
Took me a while to fully understand what the dot means, but the double line was easier
Nice ! another OS simulation. My entry is also a Unstable OS simulation :D
I really like the fact that I need to look through the folders to find the launch code. I figured you would randomise the code between tries but I didn't though you would put it in a different folder lol ..
I couldn't figure out how to beat the game. I have the clock tick down to about 1:50 but the temperature just always goes up too fast.
Nice game. Got to the god quite quickly but I couldn't place the another block at the edge of the screen.
Half the time I am trying to figure out the center of mass for the blocks and the other half is there holding my breath. Good implementation
Honestly think that the audio do more harm than good, but that's just me
Screenshot 2021-10-05 at 1.52.35 PM.png
For how simple this game is, it is quite fun. Is there an end to the game ? I managed to kill a few vamp but couldn't seem to find an end. I guess it is just endless ?
Anyway, good job on this game.
Congrats on your first jam submission !
This is a simple game that is quite enjoyable.
I think adding a timer would make it more fun. That will make it more of a time attack rather than a stage based game.
Thanks for the game !
Good job on the submission. It took me a while to realise that the screen rotate. Initially I thought I was moved to a new map. I think that can be better explained I think.
I also feel that the mechanic can be further explored with new type of obstacle but I guess that's for the future =).
Thanks for the game !.
Was looking out for this game the moment I saw screenshot for it. Was wondering what kind of game it will be.
Quite an interesting take for simulation. I find the 70% threshold the hardest among the quests. I think 50 or 60% will be easier. I tried for 10~15minutes and I couldn't get even one of them.
The Entropy card sounds like a good idea, but when I clicked it, I immediately regretted after seeing the result. I ended up throwing the run due to it. Oh well.
Anyway, great game and good job on the implementation.
Great game ! I really love the game.
1. The block in the middle add so much depth to the game. 2. I like how when you concentrate the weight on one side by accident, the end is almost inevitable. The game almost split into 2 parts; the first being trying to get as much store as possible before the game become unstable, and the 2nd part of trying to get as much score as possible once it became unstable. 3. I wonder if it will be interesting to add a "weight" block that cannot be remove except via the bottom hole. This weight block will force the player to change their mental model slightly.
Added it to my collection. Will definitely play it more.
PS: WASD doesn't work =/ Screenshot 2021-10-05 at 3.09.56 PM.png
Like the turn based tactic. I couldn't figure out how to dodge their attack, so it feels very unfair that they can move and attack immediately but I can't. (as bloodbane pointed out above)
I also think that there can be more ways to play with the unstable mechanic.
Good job on the submission =)
Screenshot 2021-10-05 at 2.28.03 PM.png I find the goal of the game conflicting.
On one hand, you have a score that goes up as you destroy things, on the other you have a timer that counts up which means I want to clear all the charged particles ASAP.
I think it would be better to remove the score and just keep the timer, that might focus the game into a better direction :)
Anyway great job on the submission.
Nice game. I see that the game is for another theme
I think the difficulty of the game is too high.
1. The timing is too short to move around 2. The collision in a few place is really tricky to move into 3. Having to remember where to drop the parcel is really hard. 4. Dropping parcel into the wrong place "works" and for a few games I thought I was doing the right thing. 5. Took me a long time to figure out where the buildings are.
I do enjoy the few minutes I had with it, perhaps drop the difficulty will make it more enjoyable.
Congrats on your first submission.
Great art style and concept. I think the explanation for such game needs to be better. For example, I don't understand when the dumpster is available. I think the art is too dark (might be my monitor), which makes it a lot harder to see.
Anyway good job on the submission !
Nice twist on the classic "shokoban" mechanic. Really love how I need to plan where I need to throw the bomb.
Level 14 in particular is the hardest for me. Screenshot.png
Good job on submission. Quite a simple puzzle game. However I do find the mechanic not fully explored and there are a lot more potentials.
Thanks for the game.
Screenshot 2022-04-04 at 11.31.34 PM.png
Interesting idea. I didn't know that water physics is possible on pico8 :D. There were time that I thought I wouldn't make it in time but I did :D.
Thanks for the game
Looks like you lost the game, maybe you should try again. - No, I don't think I would.
Screenshot 2022-04-05 at 11.04.59 AM.png
I tried for a solid 10 minutes. I keep telling myself "Last one" but I keep trying. At 35/36 seconds, there is this combination of wind + stone. That is so brutal
Good job on making me enjoy the game but also hate it at the same time !
Screenshot 2022-04-10 at 11.56.56 PM.png
Nice ! like this game. The idea to include the timer as part of the game is quite unique and innovative. The idea of adding one minute to the timer is enticing but definitely not worth. The game is surprisingly polished as well.
Good job on the submission.
I find the hammer pointless, as repairing takes too long and it is much better to build more. Making it a single hit to repair to full might make the decision to build vs repair more interesting.
Congrats on the submission.
I play this more than I like to admit. I tried so many different tactics
1. Aim only horizontally 2. Aim only vertically 3. Spam the bottom row until I can't then go up and alternative between last 3 row 4. Chase after enemy before they spam
My highest is still only 24. I don't die due to them killing me. I usually die because I didn't see that I am going to die =/
Nice game :D
Very cute art style. Personally I'm not a fan of dating sim but I really enjoy this one. Took me quite a number of tries to get to the good ending.
Congrats on the submission :)
Screenshot 2022-04-10 at 3.21.42 PM.png
3 game for the price of 1.
I kind of enjoy these and the 2nd stage reminds me of ice climber from NES https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ice_Climber.
The frustration thing about the 2nd stage is sometimes I get pushed from the platform and sometimes I don't. I can't find a pattern to it. Not sure if this was intended but it does adds to the frustration of that stage.
Congrats on the submission
@jefvel Nice bug. yeah there are quite bugs that I didn't manage to find. I think running requires 2 cards right now, but I might be wrong. but yeah, the game is not really that balanced.
I left spaces to draw in the artwork but I kind of ran out of time towards the end.
Thanks all for playing
@ddrkirbyisq really ? that's nice. I did some quick math to make sure it shouldn't be possible to infinite, but I guess some of my calculation is wrong.
@lukuluk @hulien22 Kind of wanted to do card selection, but I ran out of time. That's kind of the staple for card games.
Thanks all for playing!
I was expecting a bit more levels/endless, not really expecting it to be level based.
Control is probably the biggest problem than anything else. As someone who grew up with WASD instead of Arrow key, right hand doing movement is not really comfortable for me :D but other than that no complain.
Nice little management sim there. This reminds me of the various simulators out there.
For the first few rounds, I actually couldn't figure out how to water the plants (because I didn't read) but I still managed to pass.
Honestly, I think the game would have been better without the physics of pots flying around, but that's just me ;)
Good job on the submission.
I can't believe this is made in 48h. I will try again later to beat the game.
Can I suggest a change to the control scheme ? Left Ctrl + Arrow key on mac changes the Desktop. The control are more frustrating than the boss =(
Nevertheless, good job. I will try again later.
Nice take on the card game. As someone who also made a card game for the jam, card games are not easy to make during a game jam if you do not yet have an engine for card game.
Honestly, when I saw the combination at the card shop, I immediately wonder why the OP combo exists. When I saw the infinity deck, I immediately knew why.
Congrats on the submission.
Screenshot 2022-04-10 at 11.46.30 PM.png
The trick I went with is only dealing with calculator on a need basis. While doing whack a mole, I try to remember the simon say. I really enjoy this one, but I don't enjoy the sound effects tho
quite well polished and long for a game jam game.
Screenshot 2022-04-06 at 11.35.02 AM.png
This is just too hard. I gave up after like 5 minutes.
Screenshot 2022-04-06 at 11.10.24 AM.png
As mentioned by EagleV, a bit more instruction would be helpful. I'm not sure if there are any more to this :X
Nevertheless, congrats on your first submission =)
very nice. I really like this game. The use of boundary instead of health is nice and fits the theme very well. it is like smash bro but for bullet hell.
Screenshot 2022-04-10 at 3.51.16 PM.png
I tried so hard to get past one minute and I barely got it.
Good job on teh submission
Screenshot 2022-04-05 at 11.21.37 AM.png
Simple Asteroids inspired game. I like how Earth move as well. It took me a few game to come to the realisation that the game is not about shooting them but avoiding them. I got better after I use the shooting to avoid the asteroid rather than actively destroying all of them. I also don't think that they can be called asteroid if they are bigger than Earth =/
Good job on the submission.
Screenshot 2022-04-10 at 2.49.53 PM.png
The game is basic so there isn't much to comment on. However, nothing beats the frustration of walking to the green cube and it disappearing right in front of you. Adding some indicators might be a good place to start, unless you do want the experience of frustration. Diagonal movement would have help as well.
Anyway good job and congrats on your first submission.
Screenshot 2022-04-05 at 2.39.00 PM.png
I thought I managed to find a strategy that can keep going but I think the press just come down faster overtime. I kind of wish that there were incentive to go deeper but I guess there isn't.... (I checked)
Screenshot 2022-04-05 at 2.42.29 PM.png
Congrats on the submission and thanks for the game :)
This is really addictive. I couldn't get pass round 30 and I have no idea how the above 2 is getting such high score. I think I tried at least 10 times. I think my starting placement is really bad. My best score is 27 and that's my first game.
Thanks for the game. !
Great speed running game. I like how you just us infinite dash in the middle of the game and that changes how I have to play.
Not sure if it is intended but even though I took more than 10seconds, I could still continue.
Edit: ohhhh if i miss the checkpoint is not added. Gotcha
Great entry and art style.
I wish that there is a way to heal. I keep dying at around level 5 / 6 due to lack of health. The aggro mechanic is quite interesting. I keep dying initially and not sure why they keep attacking me until I realised that the circle increase as I fight. I have to tune down my aggro to survive.
Thanks for the game :)
Short game :) managed to beat it on first try. Took me a while to realise that the other guy is my mirror and not enemy lol ...
Thanks for the game !
Nice ! I think some of the levels are really tight in term of timing. Most area I beat with less than .5 seconds left. I think this is a good design :)
^ mention above, this definitely reminds me of SMB.
Also, one of the level I beat it when I die and slide to the finish line. It works I guess :P. Not sure if it is intended tho.
I gonna admit, I knew that someone will definitely make this game.
Congrats on making this in 5 hours :)
I think the difficulty is fine, if there isn't any scaling up in difficulty, the game would be too easy. I think having multiple additional and add in subtraction would make it even more "fun".
Interesting take on the roguelike.
I couldn't figure out the rule initially and took me quite a few games and re-reading of the rules to understand the game. Might be just me :/
I thought didn't thought the arrow would change the game much until it shoot at me while the cat is looking.
Thanks for the game.
This is a really cool puzzle game, but some levels are way above me. I only got to level 8. The time mechanic is really neat. Are there new mechanics at the later stage ?
I will try to finish this later when I am more awake.
Thanks for the game :)
Interesting concept for sure. +1 for hotkey.
It is better to think about how to get to certain numbers before you start the game. For example, 2 ways to get to 75, 35 * 2 + 5 or 40 * 2 - 5.
After a few games, you learn a few tricks to get the to number you want, then the game become a roguelike with extra steps :/
Cool idea tho
@coke don't worry when I played the game it was already rate-able
Screenshot 2022-10-09 at 12.11.57 PM.png
Nice tower defense game. When I saw the invisible wall blocking my unit, I thought there wasn't a victory screen but turns out I was wrong :) got it after pressing end turn.
Congrats on the submission and thanks for the game :)
Screenshot 2022-10-02 at 11.59.02 PM.png
Thanks for all the feedback :). My high score was from before some of the OP food was changed. Now I am only averaging around 20 for score.
Definitely :) I want to make the decision more important but it is quite hard due to the theme. Thanks all for playing :)
Great game :) I am just curious if there is an end. I got to 59.
Also, I really like how each color changes the way I play. Also, did not expect a "boss fight"
Screenshot 2022-10-09 at 4.46.31 PM.png
challenged accepted
Screenshot 2022-10-09 at 9.02.16 PM.png
First, congrats on the submission.
I haven't read the comments above while typing this, but I think it might be the same..
First I think the game is great and well done :) definitely giving it quite a good score. But man, this is one of the reason why I don't like to play platformer or make platformer during a game jam.
Platformer lives and dies by their control and how tight it is to navigate the world. Something about the control feels off for me. This usually isn't a problem, but because of how tight the levels are, and how precise you need to beat the last 2 levels, the is really frustrating.
Well, I did enjoy this one :/ if not I would not have try so hard to beat it but man is it frustrating.
The star/collectible is a great addition. If you want to take it, the path that you need to take is sometimes different from the default path.
Congrats on the submission. ! :)
I like the idea, but a lot of things can be explained clearer. However, after playing a few rounds, I roughly got the hang of things.
Towards the end, the challenge becomes how fast you can drag rather than strategy, perhaps a click control might be better.
Thanks for the game !
This game might the few that I wished that there are more mechanics. I thought the game was easy until the non 2s shows up. Those really screw up the math a lot. I thought that the solution might be to allow them to be add up, but I suppose that would be too easy.
For a first submission, this is really good, congrats.
Congrats on the submission ! :) Screenshot 2022-10-09 at 1.33.15 PM.png
The peach event is really punishing. Spawning extreme left and right feels super unfair.
Thanks for the game !
Congrats on your first submission.
I can see why you changed it from 10s to 2s. Waiting for 10s for each move would have been really frustrating.
Screenshot 2022-10-09 at 1.40.28 PM.png
Congrats on the first submission :)
I really like the effect of the wipe. Initially I thought it was a bug. I like how you turn the programming feature of a platform into an actual game feature :). I wish the difficulty ramp up a bit more towards the end. I got bored so I decided to end it.
Thanks for the game.
There is a bug with the order of items picked up causing the game to be soft locked. I had to reset a couple of times to proceed.
You should also blocked any input upon the final puzzle solved. I clicked out of it after hearing a sound thinking that there were more but I couldn't find any.
Overall the mood is quite nice and the puzzle is quite nice :)
Thanks for the game.Screenshot 2022-10-09 at 1.04.06 PM.png
the first time the app closes and open 3 more, I thought it was a virus. The weird language that is there makes it worse lol ...
Seriously, I did not expect the ending. This is such a good game. I can't believe this is done in 48hours.
Someone really wants to make a golf game :P
Okay this entry surprises me. The biggest twist is that the board start to disappear and the game changes from a precision game to a chess game.
Screenshot 2023-01-10 at 2.35.35 PM.png
I thought I could last forever, and in theory I could if not for me accidentally throwing 2 of my balls into the abyss.
Great entry !
Screenshot 2023-01-10 at 3.42.45 PM.png
This might be the most interesting fishing mechanic I have played in a while :)
I love the graphics and music, and the mood that they set, it is really relaxing. The game quickly went from "huh this is fun" to "I am going to deplete the ocean of fishes." I quickly realised that they respawn, so I gave up on that goal.
The message at the end is a surprise :D.
Thanks for the game !!!
Not really a fan of point and click but this is good :)
Love the art style and the mood set by the game.
Thanks for the game !
Nice game, I really enjoy the tetris mechanic. Initially I thought it would be similar to my game from screenshot but it isn't :)
It took me a while to figure out how to play the game, especially why I could plant seed without tilling.
Thanks for the game :)
Screenshot 2023-01-10 at 3.13.16 PM.png
Okay I don't know what I hate more, the fact that I played it for so long, or the fact that the jump height could be a bit higher.
This is a good game :) but don't make the jump height so precise , my run ended because I jump into the worm.
I kind of wish that there were more to the game.
Thanks for the game !!
Nice arcade game :). I did not know that I could zoom out until the end of the game. I spend a lot of time trying to find my mothership :/
Screenshot 2023-01-10 at 11.54.51 AM.png
Thanks for the game!
@rhum Glad that you found a new genre :)
@zahkros Yeah, I wanted to do a tutorial but it was late when I finished the game. Planning to make a full game from this so tutorial will definitely be there :).
Thanks all for playing !!
Yeah I think the game requires a lot of explanation. I kind of just assumed that people do have some ideas on how "Drafting" game works.
@rickylee @harmadillo @cannibalgirl thanks for playing !! I am planning to expand this to a small game, probably by Apr or May. :) if you like to see more from this genre, do follow me on itch. The new expanded prototype will likely be on itch around end of month.
Screenshot 2023-01-10 at 3.22.43 PM.png
Congrats on the submission. A good recreation of PvZ.
Took me long enough to realise I need to go back to the mothership to get points. Just my bad for not reading the instructions :/
I tried playing to unlock everything but it is too grindy for my liking. I like the game but might want to reduce the amount needed to unlock everything to allow everyone to "finish" the game :)
Screenshot 2023-01-14 123845.png Lost at day 25 I think.
I like the idea and as you mentioned in my itch page, it is quite similar to my submission :).
I think that you could add a way to show all numbers of the crops and that would make the game much easier to play. I have to click on each crops every turn.
Thanks for the game :)
Screenshot 2023-05-04 at 4.55.45 PM.png I tried at least 10 minutes to get pass 3, but it is really hard.
There are few section that is really punishing. I was hoping for random levels but I guess that was asking too much.
Congrats on the submission ;) and thanks for the game.
Screenshot 2023-05-06 at 3.08.10 PM.png
Love the new take on Sokoban. Everytime I go into a sokoban game, I always thought that there is no way that this genre can have new ideas. I was wrong about Baba is you, and I was also wrong about Patrick's Parabox. Similarly I was wrong about this.
I think there are some nice ideas here that can be explored further.
Thanks for the game. :)
Screenshot 2023-05-06 at 3.21.15 PM.png
A very simple idea, but personally the control doesn't work for me. I think it might be a good idea for an alternative control, unless the key challenge is the control :)
Thanks for the game
