Aww, what a sweet game and a nice message. Playing this made me reminisce about similar experiences in my own life. Thanks for the trip down memory lane

Aww, what a sweet game and a nice message. Playing this made me reminisce about similar experiences in my own life. Thanks for the trip down memory lane
I got stuck in a wall. I could still attack but since I couldn't move, all I could do was wait for them to kill me. Also more feedback on when you get hit would be nice. I missed the slight flash many times and looking away from the character to see the healthbar is difficult when you're trying to dodge away from enemies. It felt unsatisfying to hit and kill enemies because there were no sound effects.
Funny concept, I liked it. I second what was said about the inventory. The screens with the waterfalls, and shop were different enough visually that I could tell immediately what screen I was on but the two with the villagers in their houses look too similar so as I'm falling I'd get them mixed up.
Pretty chill with the fact that there's no loop limit or something. You said that there are 10 quests and 10 pieces but I was able to complete the warp thing without completing all of the quests (I didn't do the "stop the loop counter" one. I discarded quests a couple times including that one.
@fupi, the only other thing I can tell you about it is that I discarded the back and forth arguing between the villagers in the middle before discarding the counter quest.
As I was on my way to completing a quest (the last one I did) I noticed the warp thing was missing one piece and the counter guy still had an envelope so I thought, "huh, so you don't have to do them all".
When completing quests, I also spammed the click because I didn't want to miss hitting them.
That's all I can think of.
Nice game, strong Don't Starve vibes. I ran into a bug where the big shadow monster was stuck running into the fire so I could shoot him at my leisure. I'd also recommend more immediate feedback on when you get hit.
I second the game being really loud compared to other games on here. Also it would be nice if the ship shot bullets automatically - there's no reason not to spam the fire button anyway and spamming the spacebar while trying to navigate was kind of hard so I used two hands for it.
Aw that ending tho - but I enjoyed the game. Was pretty funny, especially the sound effects. Dog busting into the yard scared the crap out of me.
The controls felt floaty to me and it was hard to tell if I was damaging something or being damaged. Nice pixel art for 3 days though.
So about the "stuck in a loop" theme. Basically in my game is about the never ending struggle for survival / success. You're one of many ducklings and even if you're a little special, a little more talented, smarter, and inspire your fellows to follow you - in the end, your only reward for winning is being eaten to give your mama the energy she needs to move on to greener pastures and start the cycle again... C'est la vie.
@wolfier The call mechanic is to gather your ducklings for an attack on the enemy side. They will follow you and attack the enemy ducks you run into and they won't gather food until you release them. I'd be pretty impressed if you were able to beat angry quacking mode without using it!
@wolfier Oof that's too bad! I don't know why it crashed, I've never had it crash on me. Maybe it's an issue with the WebGL version. I've had a request already as well for a Windows version for streaming so I added a Windows version if you want to give that one a try. :v: I'm sorry if you're not on Windows - I don't have any other OS and I don't want to upload something I haven't tested. Have a nice day and thanks for playing my game! ^^
@djayne Thank you very much! I'm kicking myself for forgetting to record my screen while I was working on the game. If I had, I would have offered to send you the parts where I modelled and animated the characters. >.< Either way, feel free to message me if you have questions about my process at artsyAngelee@gmail.com
@fupi Thanks for playing and for the helpful feedback :3
"Z" calls your bros to you and "X" releases them (both of these keys do them one duck at a time) you can also do the same thing by clicking the plus and minus buttons on the bottom right corner. While they're following you they will attack enemy ducks around you and they won't gather food until you release them. It's for when you want to mount a concentrated attack on the enemy. xD
You can win egg and maaaaybe normal mode without using them but it'd be pretty hard to beat angry quacking without using follower ducks.
@virtual-turtle-studio lol the thought of the ducklings in little helmets carrying tiny swords cracked me up. Thank you for playing my game, thank you for the feedback, and glad you enjoyed!
