This game really has the humour factor, specially when I read the web links that got me laughing out loud. Very good game. It could however use some more RAM. :-D
i genuinely wouldn't put it past windows xp to have viruses that float around your screen menacingly
Well done! Had a lot of fun hunting down the anti-virus code, but was never able to keep the pc stable long enough to active it :sob:
Fun game but pretty hard. It's cool that you randomize the file tree and the antivirus code.

Really cool visuals and I appreciated the humor. Seems really hard though unless I am missing some mechanic? Finding the launch codes is usually quick. But I can't sustain the antivirus ticking while also preventing overheating and even if I do it in bursts it just eventually gets too "unstable". Freezing seems not that useful since it lasts for such a short time. So my strategy was use trash can when chilling, collect heating dudes in the middle and mass select delete and tick antivirus only in bursts. Do I need to git gud?
Sleep is cringe... but downloading ram isn't! Great visuals, great humor. Love all the files to search through. Game is a perfect level of challenge where it tests your skills and puts you under pressure without it feeling unfair. Awesome Compo submission!

I really like the fact that I need to look through the folders to find the launch code. I figured you would randomise the code between tries but I didn't though you would put it in a different folder lol ..
I couldn't figure out how to beat the game. I have the clock tick down to about 1:50 but the temperature just always goes up too fast.
I got the idea how to run antivirus... but is it possible to remove viruses manually for 3 minutes until antivirus activate? If so, it was really difficult for me. However, great idea of window simulator with super unstable viruses!

@nshbae well that's kinda the point, you can either drag them to the trash bin, or select them and delete them in groups (costs ram though)
I love the idea of being in a computer and trying to delete the viruses.

This game is actually somewhat funny and moody.
The game fits to the theme.
The SFX and music in the background sound nice.
I like the extra details you added in the folders(stuff as in memes, polish references, etc.).
I like the idea that you needed to find the passcode to the antivirus.
Although i do find the game to be a little hard since i only got 2 minutes before the antivirus activates.

Really interesting concept and proper execution. Could use some more explanation, but it easy enough to figure it out yourself. Well done!
This is the kind of games you need to replay a lot.
First time: being confused, roaming around.
Several next times: opening the folders to see the content.
Then: beginning to really play, failing miserably even when you always have your bin filled... and eventually discovering you can select because I'm a slow person.
Afterward: serious mode, locating code and closing all the other windows to not be distracted (like a real desktop).
It is hard. I lost with ten seconds left, *thrice*, but weirdly I was motivated enough to keep going and finally succeed (I was close the first time, but the game screen was a little bit wider than my window and these dastardly virus kept gathering below where I couldn't click).
This game is about space management: you always spend (I think) the same amount of Ram, you just need to have enough virus in a small place. I think Freeze is only useful for those with a good sense of management (which I don't), remembering where each virus is.
A fun experience.
Hello! Played your game on stream, at start i didnt figure out how to get rid from those pesky viruses, but then i got it, a little difficult as a game, but very funny, 10/10 memes
