LD33 — You are the Monster

Primer by alvivar 2015-08-26T03:55:00

Really cool mechanics. Like others have suggested, it would probably be beneficial to mess with the control layout, maybe move some of the controls to the mouse (aiming teleport?)

Gleeok by recursor 2015-08-26T00:51:00

Would be great if there was some way to reach those far-off meats!

Takodemon by Split82 2015-08-25T15:56:00

I started feeling claustrophobic trying to go through the hole :|

Tentacle monster vs rockets by el-pepi 2015-08-26T03:01:00

Was a bit confused on the controls at first, but 3D snake was pretty cool

Release The Kraken by AndyGates 2015-08-25T05:46:00

Really liked the art and music, controls maybe just a tad sluggish. It felt like I wasn't able to react quickly enough once things got hairy. Overall pretty cool though!

Homeland by Kubees 2015-08-26T03:08:00

Nice! Liked the music and watching the world grow as you clicked.

Dave Needs Milk by Arg410 2015-08-26T03:35:00

Alas, no milk was brought back

Forgotten Husk by CrunchyKingCrimson 2015-08-26T03:13:00

Enjoyed how fluid everything felt. Was able to cheese my way through a few levels by throwing bones as they jumped onto the platform. Looks like you tried to take steps against that strategy though, haha.

Get Home by hammerfrenzy 2015-08-25T15:46:00

Mabye I should have done a better job documenting it, but when the Lamps turn on their light will dispel your shadow platforms!

Smash the Peasants by Coac 2015-08-25T15:34:00

I liked the rhythm that comes from timing the Just Attacks, and the ability to reflect projectiles was also cool.

I wasn't really sure how to use the poison effectively, some times it seemed to clear the entire board and other times it didn't seem to do anything.

I think you wanted to keep the game difficult (one hit death), but allowing an attack in the direction of the mouse (or thumbstick) seems like it could improve the ability to dash around while keeping the difficulty. I found myself never using the dash because I had to face enemies to attack them.

Run, Monster, Run! by Arcadonauts 2015-08-26T04:01:00

Well done, I think the shark was my favorite. Didn't realize it was endless at first though, so I kept running off the side of the screen and thinking I beat a level.

Envelop by ethteck 2015-08-26T03:40:00

Interesting idea, I like the ghosts' expressions. Wasn't able to gain much size, but I did have fun chasing down tiny ghosts.

Bite In Tandem: Euphoria by Vem 2015-08-26T03:22:00

Wow. That was pretty crazy. Was a bit difficult knowing how close you needed to be to grab bullets, but overall pretty interesting take.

Kaiju Down Under by Hippomancer 2015-08-26T00:57:00

That run cycle is hilarious

Bug life by mramaizng 2015-08-26T03:27:00

Really wish you'd had enough time to start exploring more level design! Fun idea, I enjoyed it.

Not Enough Souls by Divitos 2015-08-26T03:47:00

Really like the spritework, and dashing around was really fun. Fun Fact: By flying to the top of the screen and trying to continue flying up, you can clip back down to the ground!

LD49 — Unstable

Fast Flats! by Stending 2021-10-06T19:39:11Z

Fun twist on the "drop stuff and balance it" genre. Also loved the little easter egg at the end!

Hikari’s Journey 光の旅 — the umbral world by Junber 2021-10-06T05:11:20Z

Very interesting. I'm kind of torn on the player restarting. Was it technical or meant to be part of the theme? I feel like it's a cool idea thematically but when it happened it sort of pulled me out of the experience. Either way, good work!

Tones of the World by khaotom 2021-10-06T04:57:31Z

That was bizarre but quite the experience. The tones were definitely unstable haha. RIP all those millions of worlds loss to my poor aim.

Cursed Duality by harusame 2021-10-06T21:08:49Z

Great art, fluid animation. I loved the slime's movement especially. Platforming felt pretty responsive, but on keyboard it was hard for me to be precise. I also had to spend so much time trying to stay alive that I never really figured out how to incorporate stomp (but thats on me).

birdbell by PaperAeroplane555 2021-10-04T04:44:04Z

Once the bell was introduced I was very impressed how it fit with the theme. The platforming also felt quite responsive. Good work!

Midnight Maintenance by Tattomoosa 2021-10-04T05:46:04Z

I enjoyed the head wobble when the zombies attack.

... ALL HAIL THE POWER COMPANY

Unstable Them by Jeremy Ryan 2021-10-07T01:08:22Z

536! :horse: I think the squeaky horses were great considering how small they were compared to FORSE, who is indeed a _force_ to be reckoned with. I haven't come across a "mash to fill the bar" game yet either, so that was something a bit different for me.

Mystic Push by TheSomeoneXD 2021-10-06T20:11:21Z

Very polished, art & sound are quite good. If I had to nitpick, I would mirror what others have mentioned about the perspective, and maybe try to have the camera not move around as much. That being said, great work given the constraints of a game jam!

Unstable Atom by PowerAnze 2021-10-05T21:49:26Z

Definitely gets exciting as the speed ramps up. Perhaps the speed could start a bit higher but ramp up slower? Most of the time avoiding things was pretty easy, until suddenly it was quite difficult! I like the take on the theme as well.

Help, I cast the wrong spell! by JUSTCAMH 2021-10-05T16:46:24Z

Definitely unstable. I liked the dynamite jump mechanic & the comic style storytelling at the start.

Aimless Wizard by pvp 2021-10-04T00:35:46Z

I must be a weak wizard, I was never able to get past level 5. The "unstable" magic was interesting, before the first power up I was able to just spam cast and run at the same time, but once more fireballs were falling that was a lot harder of a strategy.

Temple Of Tozi by Denzil Gomes 2021-10-06T20:43:00Z

Visually appealing, nice ambience. One feature I might suggest would be a way to knock back a platform early, occasionally I would hit one in the wrong direction and then just have to wait for it to come back. Good work!

Temple Of Tozi by Denzil Gomes 2021-10-06T20:43:00Z

(duplicate comment)

Unstable Chem Mystery by Alexofp 2021-10-06T21:26:50Z

Clever use of the theme, I really enjoyed how free-form most of the solutions were. It seemed like there were several ways to solve most puzzles.

On the wire by fortey 2021-10-04T00:43:23Z

Made it to the end after a few tries! The birds are quite mean.

Turnip Boi and the Forest Lost in Time by Codeman1010 2021-10-05T22:01:55Z

I liked the art of the sprites, and it looks like are many paths to take (I didn't make it through all of them). The forest sprite must be quite dense though, whenever the hover runs out you plummet!

Good work overall

Download more ram (100% Legit) by NoelOskar 2021-10-04T01:26:15Z

Well done! Had a lot of fun hunting down the anti-virus code, but was never able to keep the pc stable long enough to active it :sob:

Purps by Str8griz 2021-10-06T04:50:37Z

Releasing a ring of spells is quite satisfying. I was just able to defeat the boss with hardly any health left! I like the idea of seeing your next spell and choosing something to do with it, but in practice I just mashed left click haha.

Rickety Ranch by GreenXenith 2021-10-07T01:00:04Z

Cutscenes were great. As some said the collision detection was a bit mean at times, but it was doable after some practice. Loving all the farm related games.

Un-Stabled by Denhette 2021-10-04T21:02:49Z

Howdy, another "Un-Stable"-er here! I liked the frenzied pace and overall ridiculousness. I got stuck on fences a few times (I think where they have some detailing around the edges), but overall good fun. Couldn't quite achieve escape velocity to send the horse into orbit.

VolatileTD by Haydads 2021-10-04T05:29:04Z

I like the idea of your turrets going rogue for "unstable". I wish they were a bit harder to fix though, it felt like the biggest threat was actually your own towers turning on you, but they were fixed quite easily. Good job overall.

Unstable Tower by Ibrahim Oezhan 2021-10-05T17:10:26Z

Made it to 26.6 meters with only the skinny tall blocks (9 of them I think). The tower fell over partway through scoring, but it still counted!

Cairn by Amaroq 2021-10-07T01:35:30Z

Nice somber atmosphere. I appreciated the puzzle twist on the "stack unstable blocks" genre. It was a bit difficult like some of the other commenters mentioned, but I think I was able to get it (although perhaps it was a bad end - their fate is sealed :scream:)

Crash by Recessive 2021-10-04T01:40:08Z

Very cohesive theme, well executed. I think something like a "market predictions" window could have been a cool addition, but compo time is limited so I understand :P

Crazy Kitties by Mighty Tiny 2021-10-04T01:11:07Z

I liked the cats, the maze, and the spinning hammer. Only issue I had was that the first few times I thought you were supposed to NOT be on the color the cat hits with the hammer.

Un-Stabled by hammerfrenzy 2021-10-04T15:32:07Z

@wamien the "yee haw!" is what plays when animals make it back, but I think you're right that some kind of floating "+1" would help drive the point home.

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Cypon by tybantarnusa 2022-10-04T03:49:26Z

I wasn't a believer at first, but juicing the projectiles pays off! Feels like there was a breakpoint around rank 6 or 7 where I really took off which felt good.

cypon.png

Crazy Frenzy by cavejohnson332 2022-10-03T22:41:37Z

Pretty goofy! I liked the variety in the weapons, they all felt different to use. I wanted to be able to reload though, since some of the single-use weapons left me waiting for quite a while before the next swap.

Warrior, Wizard Rogue by TheseusInABottle 2022-10-04T03:12:24Z

I like the idea of swapping between classes on the timer. Being force to attack in the direction you're moving does make it quite challenging, but when my wizard went down early, the rogue started hogging the exp and becoming quite powerful!

Honk Hard by bigwhiteshogun 2022-10-05T16:42:15Z

Pixel art is executed pretty well, and the concept is goofy. I think bullet time was my favorite mechanic, personally it would have been cool to see it recharge some on the 10 second timer to encourage use.

I was unable to find the secret weapon :(

p.s. `m e l o n`

SPACE PARIAH by DS Nahogara 2022-10-21T20:54:38Z

I like the art, and the execution of the 3D movement works well. I was ultimately unable to figure out what to do with the resources that were gathered, though. It would also have been nice to add a bit of a 'vacuum' when picking up resources, just as a convenience. Good work!

Super Garden Lord by poboy 2022-10-04T03:52:37Z

J U I C E D

Slow Mo Samurai by Rawb 2022-10-03T23:23:16Z

This one is excellent. A solid core mechanic, and then forcing the player to alter their approach to different situations (moving around water, hiding behind rocks, avoiding explosives) and think on the fly.

Minor nitpicks are the bullet contrast that was mentioned, and move the 'Menu' option away from 'Replay' a bit since there's no stage select (I clicked too fast).

Well done overall!

Salmon Run! by werdnalt 2022-10-04T03:22:35Z

Made it! Really enjoyed the spin jump in particular, and the sounds & music are pleasant. Keeping momentum from flies/whirlpools through jumps was also fun. Good work!

salmon run.png

Wizard's Basement by Kongo 2022-10-05T16:57:28Z

Very well executed overall. Art is consistent (I personally liked the scroll selection green trail). Frankly I'm not sure how I ended up with multiple wizards (it was one of the mutations?) but being able to set some up as turrets and then ferry one around to close portals was when I was having the most fun.

Good work.

Home R.I.P.airs by JoyKangpae 2022-10-04T02:55:32Z

I was able to make it through to the end, although I did have to adjust my hands to the "MASH POSITION" haha. It was getting quite hectic.

I probably had the most difficulty moving between the floors - maybe a ladder or stairs could be useful? (unless you intended it to be difficult).

Good job!

Chaos Pigeon by jabsatz 2022-10-03T22:26:00Z

I was sold when my poop caused a chain reaction resulting in several cars exploding. Starting with a pigeon that can auto-aim was a good choice, makes it easy to immediately see what effects the poop has. If I had to make a tweak, I'd probably reduce the round length. Good overall!

Turnip Terrace by Jonah_SRG 2022-10-21T21:10:12Z

Solid compo work, the pixel art is cute and I liked the noisemaker sound in particular.

LD53 — Delivery

Game Genie: Crunch Time by LandoSystems 2023-05-02T05:55:51Z

Well that was wild. I think the Golden Axe thieves might have scored more goals than I did lol. Nice little bgm track & the game genies gave me a big dose of nostalgia.

Maily Melo by Blix 2023-05-06T00:32:05Z

I think this is the best looking of the letter-delivering games I've seen so far. The squash & stretch animations along with the emote on delivery add a lot of character.

I would have to agree with some of the feedback on a few of the letters being vague enough that I just guessed, and sending letters back didn't feel like it fit the flow. Totally understand that time is the enemy here though :stuck_out_tongue:

Good work overall!!

Special Delivery by Ismael Rodriguez 2023-05-02T05:34:37Z

Well done. The rotation of the package is really fun, the puzzles are interesting and no mechanic really wears out its welcome.

Impasta by Jozef 2023-05-02T17:58:30Z

Really enjoyed the sounds & feel of the peggle portion. Also curious on how the jokes were scored because some truly terrible ones ranked in the 7-8 range while most others were 2-3 haha. Level design was also good and kept things fresh, but unfortunately I ended up softlocked at this part:

Screenshot 2023-05-02 at 12.55.12 PM.png

Totally Legal Baby Delivery by Sassages 2023-05-05T18:22:29Z

The first game to get me to laugh out loud to myself. The special camera and bullet-time effect when the baby gets close to the delivery zone was excellent.

QWOPcopter by Bytomancer 2023-05-05T01:38:20Z

It's definitely what it says on the tin. It took me a while but I was able to get through the tutorial level after noticing the button (and focusing on staying patient). After that I'd had my fill of QWOP'ing :joy:

The art's pretty good, the parallax effect on the city background adds welcome visual depth. Also, I went back out of curiosity to try the controls on "hard" and yup, quite hard haha.

Broomstick Blitz by nsadie 2023-05-03T17:29:11Z

I played through the main story, and was able to complete everything but the final delivery in one go. Cranking up the speed as you fly as probably my favorite part, it felt good to zoom over the dropoff when I lined up properly.

Culling Cards by picross 2023-05-04T04:24:35Z

I really like the environment art, I got an Inscryption vibe from the game in general. Trying to conserve packs adds an interesting dimension to the usual decision making. I was able to clear the left choice ending. Only critical feedback would be that I would have been ok with 10 rooms instead of 12, as it was starting to feel pretty same-y by then. Pretty minor issue overall though, this was a very good entry!

Parcelmecium by Bokonon 2023-05-02T06:13:22Z

The attachment mechanic is pretty cool, and so is the bullet-time when you zoom in to make changes / shop. Is the only place you can find green attachments in the shop? I spent a long time looking for them in the world before buying some purples and noticing they got replaced with green (seems like it might be RNG).

Some health UI would be helpful, as well as some kind of vacuum effect to make picking up exp a bit easier.

I think overall there's a solid core concept here with building your cell.

Harpoon Lagoon by Adam Gallina 2023-05-02T05:22:25Z

I enjoyed the fish designs, and the transition from boating to the underwater fishing was cool.

Toad Tart by Olsie 2023-05-02T17:42:16Z

Very cute, soundtrack is quite relaxing. I did have to look at the comments to realize there was a tongue-shot mechanic (left click if anyone else has this issue). Was able to make the delivery afterward :frog:

Delinquent Delivery by SJPixels 2023-05-02T23:32:38Z

Enjoyed the sprite work and the BGM. The dodge roll was also pretty fun. Too bad Dusty Dan only brought his fists to a knife & gun fight, but that's a game jam for you I suppose. Good job!

Diseased Dirigible by Falk Hoeppner 2023-05-02T03:40:47Z

Almost fumbled it with a last-minute bug but we got submitted in time.

Here's my PR from development (the one where I didn't cheat, anyway)

dirigible_pr.png

Diseased Dirigible by Falk Hoeppner 2023-05-02T05:23:58Z

@greatcadet Yeah, some browsers are having that issue and we aren't certain exactly what's causing it. You could try the desktop build if you're on Windows.

Codename: STORK by Matt Green 2023-05-02T23:15:45Z

I was not expecting Stork Lore, but I'm glad I got Stork Lore. Fun concept, great job for a compo entry.

Divine Messenger by ndellam 2023-05-05T01:49:53Z

I'm glad the sfx for falling far are pretty cool, cause I was hearing that one a lot lmao. Background music is relaxing, which is good because if you're not into this style of platformer you'll probably be in for a rough time.

I think a meter showing how much you've charged up the jump would be helpful to help the player gauge when to release the jump.

The "facing forward" sprite also made me chuckle, I haven't really seen many people have a sprite for that state haha.

LD55 — Summoning

Thalatta's Grand Heist by Silas Reinagel 2024-04-16T04:50:47Z

There's some good puzzles here. I like the underwater temple theme and the summon minigame (although I agree maybe a 4-5 arrow code would have been less taxing on my fingers). However I found myself twice being unable to solve the puzzle two rooms after learning about mechanical advantage (hopefully that's vague enough to avoid being a spoiler). Being able to slide along walls instead of getting stuck would have also been some great QOL.

edit: Also a huge fan of puns. Fin-tastic.

Speed Demons by Laniph 2024-04-16T04:17:02Z

Controls are pretty responsive, and the racing part feels good. Some kind of interaction with the summoned racers. would have been a great add.

Unstable Elementals by sdelaney 2024-04-16T05:52:40Z

Love the art. I think this is a decent execution of a survivors-style game. I wish the combination elements didn't reset your levels in the other categories (or were much much more powerful), because it made it really hard to experiment. Suddenly being 8 levels down as the enemies are scaling up meant I never really got to a place where I felt powerful.

LD59 — Signal

Signal Blast by smilewood 2026-04-24T04:00:38Z

I like the idea of your upgrade choice affects how the difficulty increases. Would have liked to see how charged your blaster is, especially since it seems to be the primary weapon.

Signal's Shift by Snowdrama 2026-04-21T04:52:29Z

Perhaps my brain is too small or tired after the jam, but man I had a lot of trouble getting the signal to match x_x

Effigy of the Sky Lords by Purrseus 2026-04-22T04:53:19Z

Very cute! The text progression and visuals feel pretty polished. Wish we could swim uphill just as fast :P

Resonance: Pulse of the Deep by Meemog 2026-04-21T01:13:49Z

Nice atmosphere, enjoyable pixel art. Agree that some of the spikes were a little aggressive, but overall I liked it

packet_loss by NikaZ 2026-04-23T04:04:59Z

Got into a groove and then was given 5 deletes in a row...alas. I like the way the background moves a bit with the mouse, it's a nice touch.

Sin(x)mancer by Roboolet 2026-04-21T05:17:21Z

Really like the aesthetic and idea of getting stronger by matching your waveform to the nodes. Definitely would benefit from pacing out the concepts & enemies

Long Distance by conduit.games 2026-04-24T03:38:47Z

Retry/level advance wouldn't work consistently for me which made it difficult to learn (had to refresh the browser every time).

Switchboard Sprite by Falk Hoeppner 2026-04-21T05:24:00Z

Gonna have to run it back for perfect payroll >_> ld59.png

Switchboard Sprite by Falk Hoeppner 2026-04-23T03:02:15Z

@clymm Yeah, it's a rare bug unfortunately :/. We were a bit strapped for time this go around and a few remain unsquashed

Warden of the Depths by Alex de la Cour 2026-04-24T04:11:20Z

I did it :weary: congratulations.png

I think if you could only be hit during an attack and not just moving around that might feel better, although its a pretty big design change. I felt really cool doing the double projectile parry and then fell straight into the flames, that was rude.

Stray Flare by The Spinning Sofa 2026-04-23T03:36:33Z

Good atmosphere. I think I expected the compass to work the opposite way and that got me lost several times before I figured it out lol.

Lost Crab in the Great Sand Labyrinth by Alpaca 2026-04-24T18:46:53Z

Polished and one of the more unique games I've come across this jam. I do agree the theme isn't 100% there but there's no denying this is well executed.

m01d by gujiufeng 2026-04-22T05:09:29Z

Definitely unique, definitely very difficult!

SignalM by Thoth 2026-04-23T03:21:39Z

Took a bit but I was able to figure out how to get the meerkats out. Would be nice to be able to move them after they've left the hole. Congrats on your first jam!

Tooth Fairy by FLemming1k 2026-04-24T04:35:15Z
