Not my kind of game, but I think others will enjoy it. The controls are simple, yet just hard enough to make it difficult. It reminds me of Jump King

Controls are deeply frustrating; jump starts only when I release the button, which is not what I expect after years of playing Mario games. Getting over that, this is an interesting game: what if a platformer had a new, difficult control scheme?
Played like a rage game. Absolutely loved it. Can see this becoming a successor to getting over it if it had more mechanics. Good job!
I'm glad the sfx for falling far are pretty cool, cause I was hearing that one a lot lmao. Background music is relaxing, which is good because if you're not into this style of platformer you'll probably be in for a rough time.
I think a meter showing how much you've charged up the jump would be helpful to help the player gauge when to release the jump.
The "facing forward" sprite also made me chuckle, I haven't really seen many people have a sprite for that state haha.
Definitely gives me Jump King or Getting Over It vibes. The jump only happening on release is weird at first, but I think it is actually kind of an interesting mechanic since the longer you hold it down the higher you jump. I think some kind of visual gauge to show the player how much their jump is "charged" would help a lot though--it was a bit frustrating trying to land some of those tighter jumps when I couldn't accurately recreate my previous attempts. I ended up reaching the section with the glass blocks before giving up because it was quite difficult. Finally, the loss of control when in the air also feels weird but again that seems intentional since this is clearly a rage platformer lol. Anyways, I think with a little more tuning this could be a pretty fun game for people who enjoy this genre.
I couldn't get very far due to the weird jumping mechanics, I only made it to the second screen but the sound design is good and I liked the screen shake when you fall a long distance. I have to agree in that the movement mechanics are frustrating, it feels a bit like your sliding across a sheet of ice or something. Generally platformers aim to have very precise movement so going against that creates a pretty strange feel, that's not necessarily a bad thing if you really lean into it though, could be an interesting "rage" platformer maybe.
Hey! Pontiff and ndellam our game has a biblical theme also. :) I like where you went with it about the tower of babel. I quit playing once the platforms got so tiny... I couldn't handle the precision jump like that! The game until then was really fun though, and I liked the slime cubes. Have a great ludum dare
The only issue I have with it is the transition between "screens" not having some sort of animation. I feel they restrain my player movement, as I'm not immediately aware of my surroundings. Well done.
Quite frustrating controls, but easy to understand which is good for gamejams games!
weird controls, it's a best game for hard core lovers
This is like the game jam version of jump king lol, very cool game. honestly i Couldn't finish it but i had fun trying and a little bit of anger lol.
the slippery floor and not-that-easy controls make up for a good challenge! unfortunately i can't even pass the 3rd "level" this is hard and i'm bad hahaha
i wish the camera followed the character on the y axis instead of this cut transitions.
also, i know this is a small detail, but having another sfx for when you fall from higher is a really good idea and i was really pleased to hear that
It's not my kind of game, but I bet people who enjoy Jump King would really like it! I had a hard time managing the jumps, since you have to start moving before letting go of the button if you want to jump to the sides. It also felt like the jump power increased very quickly and there was no visual indication of how strong your jump will be, so it was hard to tell what would happen every time I jumped.
I really hate this... Not because the game is bad but because I am bad. I keep freaking falling down xD
Excellent job on this game. I didn't know what to expect when I clicked on this but the physics were just right to maximize that getting over it frustration. It would be nice if there was some sort of bar that showed the strength of your jump before you release cause I am really bad at timing it.
