simple and fun
Wow I really really liked this. I felt that the control scheme was a bit weird but could just be me. But I LOVE the flavor of this. The particles were cool and the teleporting/climbing was solid.
This is simply AWESOME! Great job, keep it up
Pretty sweet square jumper! I had a tough time getting over the enemy and onto that overhang, but I eventually got it. I think making the death & respawn much faster will help the pacing. Also, it gets a little tricky trying to press all the keys correctly when teleporting.
I liked the controls, the graphics were much better than I expected from the screen shots, nice entry!
I actually really liked it, with some more polish it could be pretty awesome. I think the most challenging part was figuring out the controls, but once you have those down it get's pretty easy. So maybe as you work on it make sure you are introducing things that keep the game interesting. Awesome work.
Very nice!
This mechanic is definitely worth exploring. Nice way to have tutorial - with instructions fading in.
Very cool mechanic, I feel like there would be a large potential for secrets and easter eggs with areas that you wouldn't normally think about trying to reach
Really cool mechanics. Like others have suggested, it would probably be beneficial to mess with the control layout, maybe move some of the controls to the mouse (aiming teleport?)
This is excellent. It kinda reminds me of super meat boy but with a simple art style.
The game could've used some audio, but it doesn't really matter. Excellent concept.
Love the teleport mechanic, it feels smooth and has a lot of gameplay potential
This was awesome. The controls felt great! And even though the aesthetic was minimalist the thought and effort towards achieving that was not. The dust clouds and particle effects, the lean the square put into his/her step. The snow and fog gave life to the world that otherwise would have been just squares on a screen. You explained the controls in a non intrusive and simple way. And it was super fun to explore with it. Great job!
Great mechanics, Teleporting mechanic seems to have a lot of potential (making an enemies homing blasts hit themselves after teleporting behind them).
I like how you added snow to create a moody atmosphere.
Would love to see a full game developed on this premise
Fun little movement mechanic. Reminds me of 2DCube's Focus, which I had to search for extensively to remember the name of. Interested to see where this goes!
cool look and clean controls. Well done!
Really nice platformer. Cool style and controls.
I got stuck in the wall here though: http://i.imgur.com/ra8iOYm.png
Nice, fun mechanics
I'm such a fan of your work. To anyone reading this comment: go check out the rest of @matnesis's work on their itch.io page (http://t.co/vALe1sMFMd).
That having been said: nice demo! I like the feel of the teleport, the slow motion is nice. Can't wait to see the finished product. You should hide some secret platform way off to the left that the player can only get to by repeatedly teleporting. ^o^//
Controls are very fluid and fun. Sometimes I've felt like it's even too easy to navigate the world given the amount of movement possibilities you have, but I guess with more enemies and things to avoid it would be quite fun. Maybe it should be a little bit harder to climb walls (slip down slowly when you don't press anything?).
Simple, but really fun. With a bit more of content, this would of been a killer
Too bad you couldn't finish ! Very nice gameplay though =)
very nice! You should take this further post-jam. :)
nice, needs an escape key though
Fantastic gameplay prototype! Really wish you had more time to work on this, would have loved to see what you could have done with this!
Hey, great job on this. Definitely something there. I'd say keep feeling around for a better way to move/jump/teleport at the same time; that can be a bit convoluted on keyboard. But great job overall!
Teleporting mechanic is very intresting. I can see how level design can get difficult when the player can scale almost anything :)
Great concept! I wish there were more to it, but what you have already feels really good. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished piece!
Really cool game, loved the teleporting but i found a bug where if you spammed teleport it would ignore the cooldown and teleport you miles in the sky :D
Unique gameplay mechanic. Make it a full game!
Love the mechanic! Please finish it!
Even with the simple graphics, you got the mood right for the game! :)
The controls work fine the way they are, but I'd do some adjustments with the wall climbing/jumping mechanics. More like when close to a ledge.
Teleporting works like a charm and it feels nice for a stealth-type of game. :P
Nice snow, btw. ;D
That was quite enjoyable! Add a comment for controls in your description, such as saying its Shift for the out of body mode. Took me a bit to figure that out!
Do keep it up! I love these types of games!
Cool game simple but fun. The teleport mechanic was really nicely done (would be cool on touchscreens) but it did not feel realy intuitive.
Very cool teleport mechanic.
Nice proof of concept for a potentially interesting mechanic. You did great work giving character to the cubes with your animation feedback, tilting, and particle streams. I immediately understood that the badguy was bad and that I wanted to avoid his flashlight. There are a few things I think you can start to play with if you want to push this further. One, consider trying out a lead camera instead of centering it directly on the player - sometimes I felt a little cramped in the direction I was moving. There's a lot you can do with camera so I think it's worth experimenting. The teleport mechanic has potential but is really sensitive and a little unruly. If you haven't, I'd love to see how that works using a controller and analog stick, and if that precision makes moving around the teleport circle easier, that way you could really push things like needing to move your teleporter around corners and such. I hope you keep it up, nice work!
It's a pretty nice twist on the usual platforming. Keep working on it!
There's something about the teleporting controls that never felt totally solid though. If the game went into teleport mode as soon as shift were pressed, instead of shift + direction, it'd be a bit more controllable I think.
Interesting gameplay
Great start! I included it in my Ludum Dare 33 Compilation video series, if you would like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/K5Eh9xNFJGY
