I think the attack action should be a keyboard control.
Damn that art is awesome! This is my new favorite!
I liked moving around and exploring. It was fun, but when I went down the ladder a rock pinned me to the left and I died.
I liked it. Everything fit together, and I like the concept. Everything was really tiny, and I couldn't zoom in because I didn't have a mouse wheel.
I like the graphics style, and the camera zoom, but it ran really slowly and made my system crawl.
I like how it looks and moves with exception of the player stopping when he bumps into the wall.
I liked the art, but I wasn't sure how I was controlling the game, if at all. I liked seeing all the people come and go.
wat
I coulnd't tell where I was going because everywhere I went looked the same. It would also be nice to not have to do two clicks to move somewhere.
I got this error on Ubuntu 12.04:
Set current directory to /home/eric/dl
Found path: /home/eric/dl/BitmiteBlitz.x86
There is no data folder
A solid entry. I was doing okay until I came to the blue virus. I couldn't find any blue medicine at first and died. The second time, I found the blue medicine, and killed the blue virus, but another one pinned me to the wall until I died.
I really liked the music and art style. I had a bit of trouble with the jump keypresses not always registering.
I got this error trying to run it on the Ubuntu 12.04 version of Love: http://i.imgur.com/2Sne9CU.png
Very nice! Once I figured out that you can shoot back, it was really fun. It would be nice to have some visual indication of the laser recharging.
@JALgames Touch mode does work on mobile Chrome/Safari, so I'm not sure why it doesn't work for you.
@Kino333 @JALgames We plan on adding a "wave" system to slowly ramp up the difficulty.
@Marjie62 @awppy I started to work on better pathfinding, but ran out of time. It's on the post-competiton polish list!
The mechanics/physics feel rock solid. It's really satisfying to fly around and plow through the blocks. You just need to work on the programmer art.
I liked the concept of using gnomes to help each other while controlling all of them.
Very enjoyable. You should add some tiny point of reference at the bottom of the initial screen so the player knows to move downward when they naturally want to check it out.
Good atmosphere. Seems really good for 48 hours.
Loving this game. MOAR GUITAR. I'm really glad you guys ported this to unity from the SNES, all the MODE 7!!
Controls could use some tightening. Solid game but got tricky pretty fast. Nice job!
Interesting but definitely not playable for a non-programmer.
This was really cool! The story element was super cool. My favorite parts were the change in music and the momentum you can build up by falling into the sad world. Great job!
I think this really fits the theme well. I like it's simplicity, and the fact that you can restart quickly when you fail. Verry unique.
Ran pretty slowly making it hard to figure out.
This game was super fun. The movement was a little slow. I loved the combo creatures like beebears.
Really trippy. This is some weird stuff. I wish I could jump on the baddies!
Some mood going on here for sure! Very odd and trippy, I wish I could jump on the baddies though.
I really liked this one! Great job on the different states of water as a creative new mechanic! Nice work.
This game has a really cool feel to it, I love the graphics and animations, reminds me of the film Silent Running.
Interesting idea!. It would be cool if the bad guys had more variety. It would be nice if there was somthing to prevent you from overlapping the bad guys, this made it difficult to attack them.
Now this is awesome, super simple and fun but difficult to master. Easy controls and you feel really good when you start getting a good rhythm or flow going. I love the mood, the audio and colors really help with that! The art style is great as always from rogueNoodle. Great job!
It was really confusing what you were supposed to do. Once I got it the puzzles were pretty fun. Sometimes it was difficult to know what the difference was in each of the worlds. Interesting idea!
Interesting concept, took me a little while to understand it. Had a crazy feel to it.
Really nice art. It has a great setting. took a while to walk around. would love to see more puzzles or areas to explore.
Nice! This reminds me of Electronic Super Joy. It get's pretty difficult, but I really like it.
I love the idea that each patient's world is a mini game with a new mechanic. there are a few bugs, but I'm sure you are aware of them already. I hope you keeep working on it and make a post-jam version!
I really like the swifting of the levels perspective as you move from side to side. Fun simple and clean graphics. Interesting concept, first time I have seen this!
Great graphics! I like the concept of the real and imaginary worlds, that's a fantastic take on the theme.
Clicking to draw the line doesn't work in Firefox.
This is a great concept, I would love to play it on my iPad! Nice work!
Really nice UI elements (the buttons, backgrounds, etc). Controlling the wizard guy was like driving a car. You should be allowed to turn without moving forward or backwards.
I know that you are already hard at work on the post-jam version. Adding some sfx would be great. I would love to have something to do in-between waves, like kicking rattlesnakes, or maybe looking for ammo, cutting open cacti for water? I dunno. Great job!
Fun concept, I like how the cable moves as you fly. The spam emails are a funny touch. Good work!
The concept is hillarious. The artwork is fantastically cute and well-made. I love the humor of this game. This is a seriously great achievement in a weekend, great job!
This is a really great puzzle game! It took me a little while to realize that the clicking inverted the brinks in the square, once I got that it was really fun. The sound really created a mood for me. The enimy attach animation and sound scarred the crap out of me the first time, and even a couple times after. Great entry I love the reset button and letting the player fail and keep trying quickly!
Cool concept!
Wow this is a really cool concept, very unique! Great work
I am going to add a note since we can't change this in the jam version of the game. The skull destroys only the blocks you touched, we're going to add some sort of indication of that like glowing or cracks on the blocks as you touch them.
I like the concept, the three seperate games was cool. I would have liked to see the asteriod from the first game be a diffferent (more fitting maybe) sprite on the others like traffic cones for example on the car game. Might be hard to explain. The music did not fit well in my opinion. Good job!
I like the faded other world, fun little platformer you have here.
Faster respawn/restart of the level you are on woul make this much much better. Any game where you die this much needs have instant respawn, so it is not punishing the player. Controls were a little awkward but overall this could be a great game with some more work and polish. I liked the puzzle aspect of it. Great job on your first jam.
I love the art style, fun puzzles. Great job!
Great concept, great execution. I love the fun way all of the creatures interact and the art style!
Great first entry to Ludum Dare! It would be awesome to have feedback or another animation for attacking, at first I could not tell that I was doing anything, I thought my button was not working. I liked the story intro! Great work
I liked the screen wrapping and the overlay of the different maps a lot. Good colors too.
The art was nice, and the world generation was pretty neat. I did spawn inside of a mountain, and I couldn't figure out how to mine a block.
I like that I got to play as a hat!
Very fluid and fast-paced. When I learned that your shots bounce off the walls it really made me rethink how I played.
This is amazing for being made in such a short time!
Hamsters in space? I like hamsters! I even made a hamster game this time!
Hey great game, nice job. unique concept of roping the planets, I would play this on mobile for sure. Keep going with it! Thanks for making it browser friendly also!
Fun and simple. Great art & animation. Fun concept. Would be perfect for mobile (which I think you already know :) ) I like how there are two dinos, so you have a second chance! Solid entry!
I like the murder beams, I wish you could move faster. Where is the space hoarse?
I am so confused.
doot doot doot doot do doot doot doot. I died too easily, this was hard.
Joel gets a 5
I really like the idea of building the levels and mechanics specifically for speedrunning. This game is crunk off the hizzy yo. Cump cump.
rad triangles. I am intrigued by the world you are creating here, and I enjoyed being pulled into it.
Really interesting concept. A little tricky to manage all of the controls. Great pixel art!!
Cute characters, cool backgrounds. I was confused most of the time, but for me that is normal. I think the music concept is a great idea, but could be better if you use the music to color grey characters and make them happy.
This was a super fun concept, I had a great time making my friends fabulous!
This is an interesting idea, but really hard. I like the jet pack.
I really liked the art style, Great work. The UI is really polished, The concept is cool.
I was pretty confused, but this shows potential. I liked the tim burton art style. it could use some faster pacing.
This is an awesome concept! I like the art style and the controlls felt good.
I can't wait for the post-jam version that fixesd the couple bugs. Keep up the great work!!
I loved the art and the arrow sound. the cat was funny. I liked the bouncing arrow mechanic.
I like the bouncing off of walls back and forth mechanic more than the pooping on cowboys. It was fun that they melted though! It felt almost like two games overlapping. Interesting concept, and I had fun trying it out. Good work.
THis was super fun! I loved the mood & sound. I liked the graphics and the crunchy feel when you pop those ghosts! The ball that pops them all was a stroke of genius, it made it really exciting.
My favorite parts were the name, the sound, and the art. I was confused at first by the gameplay, and then caught on. This could be a fun multiplayer game if you want to expand on it. Perhaps make the 'health' regen button more obvious visually?
Pretty sweet square jumper! I had a tough time getting over the enemy and onto that overhang, but I eventually got it. I think making the death & respawn much faster will help the pacing. Also, it gets a little tricky trying to press all the keys correctly when teleporting.
Works fine on Linux. The monsters are creepy! I would like to change the camera angle to see more stuff.
Really neat idea! I like how you actually have to type, though it gets a little tiring. I'd like to see a blinking cursor, and have key-repeat working.
Sweet little experience. Like watching someone else's fond memory.
This was super-awesome! A+++ Would buy again!
Very well done, I'm excited to see what happens next!
I loved the ogre animations, how the arms and legs moved. It made me laugh. I think it would be more fun, if you your throws charged up faster, and if you could throw multiple things without waiting for the first to land.
The shooting action is satisfying, but I wish there was mouse-aiming, and shooting in more directions.
Really interesting idea, it made me feel creepy.
I liked the music, and thought the dog was pretty sweet. I liked the style of the bad guys. I had a hard trouble jumping over the tall block dividers.
I liked how the camera moved to show you the most view in front of where you're walking.
I liked the music and presentation. I tried to figure it out as best as I could despite the language barrier.
I loved SkiFree, and it's pretty great being the abominable snowman! The camera could use some work so it doesn't jarringly wrap around, and WASD controls would be nice.
I really liked the sounds and writing. The game was pretty hard to read and manipulate at first, but was WAY better once I full-screened it. It took me a while to figure that out. Also, I was pretty confused by "PROBLEM SOLVED: F!". Did I fail or not?
I liked the graphics, and the jumping/shooting action. The walls were sticky and clunky to get off of, and I'm not sure what the other shooter people were for.
I thought the yellow warning sign was a great idea. It helped me to feel like it's my fault that I died.
I love the art style and polish in this entry. The rotating castle is really fun. This is an amazing level of polish for a jam game, great work!
I liked the sarcasm. Had a hard time with a bunch of the levels, the timing is really tight.
My shop sold dank memes. Many happy customers!
The idea is interesting, and I liked the music/sfx. I had trouble using the controls.
Excellent animations, solid gameplay. Very nice!
Swarming and scattering looks awesome. Great interpretation of the growing theme.
The game mechanic and artwork stand out a lot in this game. The beard growth is a clever riff on the theme. Particularly great is that I am able to "accidentally" discover that waving the beard around triggers buttons -- but that doesn't mean I don't have to put in a small amount of effort to make it happen. Great gameplay experience. While I would love for there to be more levels and game content (and I hope it will come!), it's a solid and promising start.
This is a really unique concept. cute game.
This really controls perfectly. I love the solid feel and the stickyness on the walls is great. The eyes on the box are cute. The strongest parts of this are the perfect controls and the great level design. It seemed a little easy in the first few but the challenge ramped up and was very fun. Great job on this solid entry!
This game is crazy/scary/awesome! It gives me chills.
I loved the music, and that supernova was creepy! It didn't feel like the supernova on the rescue screen matched up with the supernova on the planet-chooser screen. I ended up squishing a bunch of the people I was supposed to rescue.
I like the art style. I'm curious about what the big bear was going to do.
Neat idea, but I wasn't sure how to fill in a hole I accidentally made to progress to the next level.
Really interesting. I played this one for a while. Also really dug the music.
Fun and simple game, like it a lot! I'm into the idea of your ammunition acting as a swarm and attaching to your enemies for retrieval. On the flip side, this means that if you miss your enemies on the first go and fail to run and pick the nanobots up, like I did, you'll be forced to restart the game. Liked the boss fight - fun but a bit challenging (though nothing I couldn't beat, haha). Would love for the space bar to work as a firing button - both z and ctrl were a bit awkward with the WASD controls. P.S. Not 100% sure I understand your interpretation of the growing theme. Is it growing a swarm of nanobots? Are the nanobots coming from the tumors? Not totally clear.
Nice art and a novel idea. Doesn't work in Firefox, had to switch to chrome.
The chicken is sooo cute! Amazing for a first game!
This game just did everything perfectly. Amazing job. I love love love the interactions between characters and the characters that cause different status effects on the elevator. The feel is spot on and the music and sounds fit the game perfectly. Great work, please continue on this game and release a paid version. I will be your first sale.
Such a corny game! It made me laugh. Reminds me of QWOP.
The artwork is really really well done. I love the idea and the volcano is fun to shoot. The music and sound make this entry have a great mood.
This game is fantastic, I love the concept and the artwork so much. Great work.
Fun and cute little game with a lot to it. I liked the characters and the sound effects felt right.
Really enjoy a couple things about this game - exploring the sea map is fun, and even more fun is watching survivors travel, settle and explore the land after you rescue them, and as your rescue others. The game also uses the two button theme nicely, though the core mechanic is a bit rough. This type of control scheme is definitely hard to implement well; perhaps the rotation rate could increase over time as the player holds a button down, so it's simple to both rapidly paddle left and right for forward movement, or turn sharply when needed? My other point of critique is simply that it gets a bit dull after awhile. I only played up until I had rescued 34 out of 100 survivors. Perhaps there could be shorter level segments, and as levels progress, you could encounter different sorts of places and people? Great work so far, looking forward to what comes next.
Enjoyable prototype. I love the action of slashing left and right to take down enemies. I also enjoy the elements of strategy required to succeed-- a balance between the need to grow and the need to be ready to attack new enemies, and the need to time well, since there's a limited window between when an enemy can be attacked, and when the enemy attacks you. The art is clearly lacking, and some nice sprites and animations would only enhance an already fun game.
Link says permission denined.
I liked how the speed lines made it feel faster. The art and sfx are cute. I don't like how hitting obstacles slows you down, making it take a long time to fail. I'd rather fail faster.
This is a really funny/interesting idea for a game. I'm a fan of the aesthetic in terms of music and art; the beard itself could use some work, but it works. The controls and mechanics are a little bit unstable. It's difficult to steer correctly, and it's also somewhat strange that running through a guillotine, so long as the end of the beard makes it out, effectively does nothing to you. That said, I love the idea of the beard fetching keys to unlock doors, etc. That idea could be expanded upon, along with some sharpening of gameplay controls, and the game could start to shape up very nicely
I really liked getting different powerups. The homing missles were my favorite, the starter gun seemed unhelpful. Some basic bfxr sounds would bring it to life better.
Nice shooter! I would've liked a little more UI, like being able to tell which direction you're facing, and bars for things instead of numbers. Also, some basic bfxr sounds would helped.
