Really great, my favourite so far!
Really great, my favourite so far! Got stuck after I got the bread though...
Make a full game from this!
Can we get a download of this game?
This is a really cool idea! Id like to see a post-Mortem of it, With a better interface. Ive always wanted to make a game where you genetically modify things to complete puzzles, and have never quite gotten what I was looking for, but this looks like it could be a winner!
I could see what I was meant to be able to do, I just couldnt do it.
Huge rendering problems, made everything hard to see.
Really cool, and smart, with all of the little details, like not being able to pick up once the calls over. The atmosphere was amazing with the switching between music and all that. Great job!
I really liked this! It was hard to stop playing. Great job.
Sorry, it should be fixed now.
I was unable to polish it completely, but there are zombies, you dont start with any ammo(couldnt add any counters), but you can buy it in the store. Weapons dont have any display, except for a red line showing trajectory. Its my first ludum dare entry, not to mention my first real game(as in all of my other games were text-based).
You have to wait for night for zombies.
Thanks!
Thanks guys.
Thanks for the feedback. I should have made a death menu, but pressing escape and going to the main menu should work okay.
lol, I agree!
Thx for playing!
Cant run it, I get to the press space part and when I do, it stops working, and I have to press escape to close it.
Great job! I really liked it, and it fit the theme perfectly, except for fun! The only thing I would suggest is some sort of endgame, but I know how tight time is. Again, Great job!
I didnt know how I was dying, but it was an awesome idea, a 2D world.
Chaotic, Got stuck in a wall once, barely survived the round! I really love the concept, it works with the theme well.
Funny little game, Best villainous pixel hunting simulator.
Man, this is overall really great, but I kept getting stuck on the cat swiping with its leg, and the bug wouldn't let me jump over it. Really awesome use of the theme, I think you deserve to win in at least one category.
I hate this game! I love this game!
Man, I love the music on this one, so cool! Such a silly, fun, game. Great job!
Thanks! I was aiming pretty low to make sure I got it out on time.
@rijhunter good idea, I didn't have much time to set up cross platform when I was packing the jar, I'll try and add it now. (but I have had some issues with that in the past)
@WhoaConstrictor, Nice name ;) and thanks for the feedback
@Valtaroth, Glad you felt so :)
@HolyBlackCat, Ah, sorry about that, I'll need to make it compatible with non-60-hz monitors
@HolyBlackCat, Fixed :)
@rabbit, What version of windows? Can you run it from cmd for me? (hoping you know how to do that)
@cardanai, Thanks, and yeah, graphics aren't my strong point, but I'm mostly happy that I managed to get some semblance of depth, you should see what the game looked like earlier
@rabbit, try the java 1.6 version
Yay! Thanks 'Kopeph Developors'! :D
@BMacIntosh, It's possible I could port it to android, but the game isn't made to be played on screens less than >720 pixels in height. It's possible, but not preferable.
@Hellequin, Thanks :)
@RockhopperGames, Thanks for the comprehensive feedback, My aim for the game was to have the player complete one little task on the platforms, like destroy all enemies, then get to the end before the time runs out, then all of the platforms would descend into the lava, except the last one. (yes, it's meant to be lava) It would be a mix of infinite runner with dungeon crawler or roguelike. This would mean that the screen never changed, and the labyrinth just descended to and ascended from lava.
About the little dude freaking out, It never happens on my computer, but seems to happen to a couple of people I know. :/ Anyway, thanks for your replies everyone :)
@talecrafter, thanks :)
@JNyknn, I agree, I just ran out of time to add anything else
@ChaosCult, Tried the java 1.6 version?
@FloatingGhost, Sorry about that, but there's not much I can do, I don't have a linux anymore, and if it completely crashed your system, then I don't imagine that running from terminal would tell me what went wrong.
@Chaoseed, Thanks, the bubbling lava was meant to convey that the texture at the bottom actually was lava, and as for unimplemented features, I'll quote a previous comment:
"My aim for the game was to have the player complete one little task on the platforms, like destroy all enemies, then get to the end before the time runs out, then all of the platforms would descend into the lava, except the last one. (yes, it's meant to be lava) It would be a mix of infinite runner with dungeon crawler or roguelike. This would mean that the screen never changed, and the labyrinth just descended to and ascended from lava."
@dsoft20, Thanks :)
Oh, and another late feature I was planning to add was where you occasionally see an extra platform over the end of the last platform. It was going to have a thing that gives you extra points, but that was one of the later features I didn't have time to add.
Oddly, a few people complained about this, I don't know why it's happening though, because it never happens on my computer.
I know this is an issue, and I can't know how to fix it unless people use the debug version and email me the "output.txt". I'm really sorry for the inconvenience.
Actually, you just need to be anywhere on the tower for the green circle to register you being there.
@Rothens, Unfortunately that wasn't working for me, strangely. In fact, I tried just about every variation on that theme. I think the problem might have been that I was loading resources from classes that were in a package, unlike the last two times.
@Taunia Sabanski, Thanks for playing my game, and thanks for the comprehensive feedback.
@Bonobo Games & Mechanic Moon, That name is a mouthful, and thanks :)
@JayCee23, Sorry about that, it seems to happen for some people...
@shyupuff, Thanks :) The idea was that you never moved at all between levels, and the level moved around you, but given the time I had to do it, I just had to use a screen flash for the platforms to move.
@p1x3lruckus, That's something I planned on, but I got caught up at the end trying (and failing) to pack the jar file. :/ I might add it in my post-compo version.
@joppiesaus, By using hyperbolic equations to calculate difficulty so that as the level approaches infinity, the amount of time you have to get to the platform approaches two seconds. I'm glad you liked the sfx, It was worth a total of five minutes (unless you count the music, that was an hour or so)
@efux, Thanks, that makes one of us. I jest, I was happy with how I used a minimal amount of textures and a few lines to make the platforms look like actual stone platforms above lava rather than big grey rectangles.
Really great, very fun implementation of the theme, but if the game includes the boss, doesn't that mean that it's more than just the screen?
Very interesting concept, loved that I could play this entry on my iPad!
Cool game, and quite a nice concept, but could have been improved if shooting the enemies was a little easier, (extending the time it takes for the castle to reach full power) or if it had some music. Fun game, and btw, love the picket soldiers and horses.
Really nice graphics and sounds, but controls were lacking a bit, making it hard to hit the ball where you wanted or move your character where you want him to be, but still playable. Great to see a local coop game on here, something you don't see much around. Great job!
You're definitely right, rule #1 of LD: Game > no game.
This game was actually a lot of fun, I loved the feeling of power of getting a whole load of powerups at once, then suddenly realizing your bomb radius is like 10, and almost killing yourself.
Fun little game, and a surprising level of depth. Well done!
Really cool concept, nice challenging beat game.
I thought it was unwinnable for a while there! Cool concept, really good implementation, but could have used more sound/music and faster walking. Logical puzzle games are definitely some of my favourites.
This entry is really awesome, unfortunately also pretty buggy. I kept getting stuck on nothing, or standing on nothing... I love the concept, and you've done an awesome job implementing the strange geometry
Man, really great job here, it's a very well thought-out concept, and it's implemented well. The problem is I had no idea what I was doing for the first while. The only explanations were in a font that I couldn't tell the difference between 'L' and '1', and where the command was stated as 'r1.trun();' instead of 'r1.turn();'. It was really fun once I understood it, a real gem, but it was difficult to get into. If you just post some tips here like, "arrow keys to scroll the screen" and "all commands must end in semicolons, then that would greatly improve the appeal and playability of your game. Great job on making such a feature-full (something my game is not) game, and good luck!
Awesome! Smooth controls, simple but very effective gameplay, so many possibilites, such a fun game, and really addicting, definitely my favourite so far. My best score (so far): 10940
Cool game. Smart idea to make a boss with interchangeable attributes, makes it easier to add variety. I couldn't hear the singing you told me about? Nvm, cool game, and I have to say the music fits the situations well.
Very simple, but fun. Liked the concept of choosing how you level up as you progress. Would have liked to strafe up and down too, but I can imagine how time constrains you, especially on your first LD. And btw, great job finishing in time for the compo, I certainly didn't on my first time.
Very nice, And a cool idea, very nice use of the theme. One problem. You have more than one screen :O Nevermind, the theme is more of a prompt anyway.
Did you use a vignette or shaders for the light around the player?
Really nice art, and I love the story, really funny. Unfortunately, I got stuck in the floor, and enemies stopped coming...? Anyway, great, fun entry.
Really fun spin on an economy game, and really smart spin on the theme. Good job.
I don't normally give 5-stars for mood, but you definitely earned it!
Man, really top-notch work here, Great graphics, Fascinating mechanic, absolutely everything is perfectly polished, from the shading on the screen, to the hand pressing the buttons. I'll be looking out for this one at the top of the results!
Funny little game, and who's that on the background poster? I love the way the door slides upwards. As for the people, they have a really cool little art-style, which makes this the best hectic-squabbling-simulator I've ever played.
Really nice graphics, and I especially like the way it gets snowy.
I thought of this idea when I was trying to decide what to do with the theme, and thought, "Nah, that wouldn't work." You, sir, proved me wrong. Great job. I love the penguin too.
Man, love the Graphics, audio, mood, I can see why those are three you chose to be rated in
Overall, really well done, great visuals, and btw, I think you can add the newer fixed versions if you wait a bit then label them as post-mortem or post-compo.
Very cool, and very well done, making it fit all of those themes! Nice procedural generation, but I got stuck in a room of my own once, haha. Quite a technical achievement for such a short time!
Good for a pacman-sanic-ball-coffee-bean simulator
Nice graphics, challenging gameplay, but could have used some music, or at least some ambient noise like wind or splashes.
A fun, silly game, not much missing from this one.
Haha, love it. Lots of fun ruining people's fun, eh?
I'd love to try this one, but it just came up with an error

This is really great, I love puzzle games like these, and you can have all of my stars!
A lot of fun! As always, the graphics and music are very nice, creating the perfect mood for the game (although you apparently opted out of mood?) Although some of the sound effects, namely the sound of the generator being destroyed, were a bit harsh. A short, but all around very well polished experience!
Heaps of fun, and nice graphics, would make a wonderful mobile game
Darnit, man, you're taking all of my stars! Fun gameplay, plus the fact that I really want a high score, with clean graphics and perfect audio, I can't really complain about anything except the fact that you only have 6 levels!
Oh :( Could you run it from cmd for me?
@Mcmahoniel, thanks :)
@timtipgames, thanks for the feedback, and I'm very glad that it looked nice and natural. Btw, that's a really great score!
@fiddenmar, glad it works, but it looks like the natives don't like the way I'm losing the music. Luckily it's running at all! :P
@irwatts, thanks for the feedback :) I can understand that feeling, but if you're careful, there's a surprising amount you can do with the simple controls.
@gironC, thanks :)
@uvwar, I'll have to check that out. The 'rails' unfortunately are somewhat of an unavoidable result of the theme.
@batmanasb, Yeah, its hard to get the balance right, cause you want them to stick together, but you don't want them to pack into the middle, but thanks for the feedback :)
@Ingon, Thanks, and I can understand what you mean, it's hard with a game like this , given the theme especially.
@Archonthewizard, Thanks for playing.
@equiposalchicha, Thankyou, and I agree, I just couldn't find time to fit it in.
Very interesting game, but could have used more variety in the events that occur. I liked the graphics, and the sounds were quite nice.
Overall a really great entry, a lot of fun, and a fun story to follow along with.
I love the way it looks and feels, the graphics are great!
Well done on a solidly implemented game.
As a wise man once said, "Very rewarding murdering fish"
A lot of fun, and perfect mood for the game.
Heaps of fun, fast paced gameplay, it would be cool if there was a little more to it, but the difficulty levels were a nice touch. Btw the game is truly beautiful, great art, and the audio was very good.
