I really enjoyed your implementation of minimalism in this one. Good job! :)

I really enjoyed your implementation of minimalism in this one. Good job! :)
By far the most funniest game I've played so far in this jam! :)
At first I was wondering why the controls weren't so responsive, then I was like "ahhhhhh!"
Nice idea with the movement, and the fact that destroyed enemies affect where you can move!
@Nolojen I used 2d toolkit. It's really good for making 2d games in Unity!
@Gama11 I agree with you there. I wanted to color-code the text, but I didn't get a chance to. The GUI was the last thing I worked on before submitting :/
@captainkraft I've had similar issues with that before, where the web player thinks it hasn't been installed. Have you tried restarting chrome, then re-running the game?
I'll try to look more into it to see if it could be something else. Worst case, I've provided downloadable builds you can try playing on.
This game by far takes the crown for humor :)
Also, it fits the theme perfectly hahaha
I really enjoyed your game and the use of minimalism applied to a 2D platformer!
Also my condolences to your friends. I can see that you had a great mentor, and I'm sure they're enjoying the game you made for them up there.
Even though I had no licking controller, just the combination of the graphics, music, & licking planets made me smile a lot. Great job on this!
Wow, this is probably the best execution of the theme that I've seen so far! Playing this really made me feel like a monster. Excellent job!
Too much fun kicking tanks around! =)
Great job! I really enjoyed devouring planets & its fleeing inhabitants! =)
Also, nice pixel art!
Wow, this is one of the most polished games I've played so far in this jam! Awesome pixel art too! ROAR!
Good job guys!
I really liked the art style, plus hacking away at soldiers =) Great job!
Most dramatic Cthulhu game ever :)
Nice job!
I really liked the gameplay idea, combined with the whole presentation! Good job!
I really like the art style & music for this game! Great job!
Nice job! Squishing humans is a nice motivator to learn how to type :)
Great puzzle mechanics, great story, great work!
One of my favourites so far in this jam =)
Nice idea! Reminds me a little of Every Extend Extra, but with a fun application of this LD theme :)
I really enjoyed this! Makes for a good introduction to those new to Ludum Dare!
Also, it made me feel like a monster for constantly trolling the narrator ;)
Cute house destruction simulator ;)
Nice job!
Haha, nice job with the theme! Hilarious watching people being shaken out of their cars!
That was really fun, with how you presented the art, music, and theme. Punching zeppelins feels great! =)
That was fun & cute! Great job! :)
Great art style, plus it felt really satisfying flinging humans off! Nice job! =)
Great job! The game really made me feel like a predator. It would be interesting if you decide to develop it further!
I really liked this! Reminds me of all those old-school shooting games.
Actually, I think you did a pretty neat take on the theme. Because the bullets you shoot end up killing you, you can say that you really are the monster! =)
Pretty interesting with your choice of input! I really enjoyed playing it using my mouse scroll!
I really like the interesting gameplay, especially with having to balance various stats in order to live. Great job!
Thanks for the feedback Nick! For the RMB to un-holster issue, I fixed the web build so that right-clicking doesn't pop up a right-click menu. Alternatively, you can press Space to aim as well.
You're right about having no in-game instruction; I'll consider that for the next Compo I participate in!
Thanks everyone for all the comments and reviews!
My intention was, yes, to take advantage of the fact that in a lot of shooting action video games now, we're conditioned to shoot first, do whatever else later. However, because they're the enemy, we often don't give a second thought about who we end up killing.
To that end, plus to go along with the LD theme, I was thinking if the player knew more about who was being killed (in this case, the white CPU's that don't shoot first), then perhaps the player might feel like a monster, especially if the 'enemies' they killed were, in fact, innocent victims. Once the player realizes that, then the next time they play, the intent is to have them only shoot at the red enemies/dodge for as long as possible, changing the way the game is played.
At least that was my intent in making this game. I'm not sure if I was able to successfully convey that in this game jam entry or not.
@bombjack
The only update I made was last week was a bug I fixed where pressing right-mouse click would open up the right-mouse button menu on the web build. Difficulty should have been unchanged, although it seems like something I should adjust in a post-competition update!
Really liked the art style... and covering farmers in slime! =)
Great job!
A fun twist of the theme! Cthulhu music is the best!
Great job all of you! The progression up until the ending really drives the theme home!
Haha, nice use of the theme, plus music! =)
Really well done! Nice job! Probably one of the better Kaiju games I've played so far in this Jam
That's one really flexible Kaiju! =)
I also got some framedrops, but I still really enjoyed eating dwarves & evolving! Great job! =)
Pretty neat take on stealth gameplay! Also, everything is quite nicely polished. Great job!
Nice job! Reminds me of playing the resource collection parts from Star Control II =)
I liked the atmosphere you set up, plus having the vision cones on the characters helped too!
Too much fun stomping on police =)
Quite a cute, fun game! It feels really polished. Nice job!
Really liked the visual look of this! =)
Haha, interesting fight system options
Quite a fun take on football! You should consider developing this further! Great job guys!
Nicely polished! This can be something interesting if you choose to develop it further!
Hard, but I really enjoyed it!
Nice idea! It could be a solid base for something great!
I really liked the look and atmosphere of this! Nice job!
This is probably the most pretty-looking game I've played so far. Great job!
Interesting idea with the ghost tethered to the tombstone! The mouse aim is a little touchy, but you should consider developing this further, it can be really interesting. Good job!
I loved the art style!
That was pretty creative! You certainly nailed the mood pretty well... guess playing in a dark room did that for me =)
Excellent job!
Fun blood effects & pixel art! =)
Nice old-school PC style game! Nice job!
Great job with implementing the functionality of an RTS in such short time!
For my ancestors!
Pretty interesting, nice take on the stealth genre! =)
Good job!
I really like the simple combat system you have here. If you decide to develop it further afterwards, it could be interesting =) Great job!
Haha, nice concept, quite fun to run my own sla- ...er monster business =)
Great use of colours not only for the art style, but to convey the atmosphere of this game! Nice job =)
Really cute date sim! I really enjoyed playing it!
Great job =)
Violence pays! =)
Spent quite a while playing this game!
I really like the mechanic you have when walking through walls! Great job!
That was fun! Nice job!
Neat take on Jack & the Beanstalk! =)
Pretty neat twist on stealth gameplay! Could be really interesting if you choose to develop it further after the jam. Great job! =)
I should've signed up for Lakitoo training instead... :/
That was pretty interesting. Nice job!
Great game! Really well-polished, plus you should really think about developing this further with the cool mechanic you thought of! =)
I would like to think that some creator out there is entering in stuff through command-line. Interesting twist on the theme!
Had too much fun scaring children! Thanks =)
I really liked the idea of constantly switching bodies to heal! Good job!
Nice little fun game! =)
That was fun kicking/throwing off those cute characters =)
Nice job!
Funny idea! Also, simple, yet pretty interesting game mechanic with the blood/speed balancing. Well done!
I really like the one-button controls, plus the whole NES-style package! You should really consider developing this further =)
Really nice & cute from what I played. Could be really fun if you choose to develop it further! =)
That bunny is truly a monster! =)
Good job!
Great job for your first attempt. Pretty funny when the zombie hits an obstacle... fits the zombie theme well! =)
Watching villagers jump to their doom while chasing you is fun to watch =)
I had fun playing through all the levels =)
Nice job!
I really like how it mimics real life when there's always that last holdout who won't sell =)
Really makes it fit the theme well when deciding who lives & who dies! Nice job!
Great job on this! I think I spent over an hour just playing this =)
Love the monster design =)
For some reason, the comical music adds to fun of destroying people's homes =)
P.S. For your web build, link to the .html file instead of the .unity3d file so that people can play it in their browsers correctly.
Cool idea with it getting harder with the more socks you collect! Good job!
This is awesome! Best monster workout simulator ever =)
Great job working on this!
Nice clicker game diversion, even though I played by myself :P
@seththefirst
If you're playing the web version, try clicking on the game window once it loads. That should allow you to use the controls properly!
@ChiPassGames weird... I'll have to take a look at why the A & D keys would not work...
As for the music, I guess I should learn how to make music properly... :/
@PowerSpark oh wow, I can't believe that I didn't notice that! Thanks, I'll update the build when I get the chance!
Wow, this is really, really well done!
Great job! :D
Great job! Reminds me of playing Downwell, but up.... Upwell? :D
Great idea! Pretty hard, but really creative with the use of both themes!
It took a while to get used to the controls, but once I did, I enjoyed playing it! Thanks!
Haha, nice! Brings back memories! :)
It took a while to get used to the controls, but nice, simple fun! :)
Really cool control scheme, plus nice splatter gore graphics :)
Really neat idea! It took a while to get the hang of everything, but this can be something really interesting if you continue working on it! :)
The slimes, they keep on coming! Nice job :)
Nice! It kinda reminds me of playing Skifree back in the day :)
For a first game, not bad!
Don't give up, and keep on making games!
Remember, all great game developers started from somewhere!
that was
That was quite the finger workout! :)
Awesome graphics & music! Also a nice interpretation of game development too :)
Even though it crashed sometimes when playing the windows build (I think when it tries to load the red tile set...), I really enjoyed playing this! With some post-compo polish, this can be really fun!
This is a really neat idea! Simple, fun, and addictive! Great work!
Even though you started late, you do have an interesting proof of concept for a nice & fun puzzle game! Nice job :)
It took a while to get used to the controls, but I nevertheless enjoyed sneaking around! Also the art works quite well :)
Simple, yet addictive trying to stay alive as long as possible! Great job on this!
Fun little bullet hell game; loved the final boss :)
Nice puzzle game! I had fun transforming things into rats and squishing them :) Good job!
Really love the cute voices and presentation in this game! Great job!
This game is hilariously awesome! 5 stars :)
This game is deceptively hard! But a great workout for the brain :) Nice job!
Looks really pretty! Loved the atmosphere in this!
That was a nice and relaxing experience! Nice job! :)
Reminds me of a certain awesome old-school game ;)
Great work on it! :)
It was a little hard to remember which form works against the enemies, but a nice, funny, and cute entry! Loved the dinosaur art!
Insanely hard, but fun! Nice job!
