:D Its a very lovely story about Nessie! I really love the theme and the music.
Sadly I always died very early, but I still think its a very nice idea and game.
It was awesome :D
Its a very good start, I recommend keep work in this game in the future if you have time. For example, make powerups, different enemies, (I better like skillshot attacks) so maybe change that (for example shoot with "space" and to mouse position).
Gj with the random map and pathfinding.
I like this game.
Simple and excellent, but I'm missing some sounds. For example:
-background music
-spawn sound
-bite sound
I especially loved the menu sheep buttons :D
NebulaOrbit says: "I found it annyong that the wolf ran back to the beginning" - Yes, wolf should stay in place.
Very nice game, but success is look like totally random. I failed too mutch and this was annoying :/ Btw awesome design, nice graphisc, lights, sounds and cute monster.
:D Very nice product! I like it!
Funny game! Simple but good. I had only 1 problem: Rockets have too long collider. I died many time after I dodged them and went back to my original position.
The sad little mushroom :) Cute story, nice game!
Thanks for response! I fixed this issue! Sorry for that.
Thanks for feedback. The original idea was using the player's friends names and profiles from Facebook :) Maybe I try again the FB integration later.
jcwelgemoed: Sadly game is calibrated to 1280*720 resolution. In the future I will take care of this problem.
The most annoying game ever 10/10 ;D
:D Funny game, I like it.
Very unique :) I really like it. Good job guys!
Nagyon hangulatos lett :)
Good game. We really loved the sound of the gun :D and the other vocies too. You should give some pause time or use a button when players change. The sphere map is a cool idea.
Good little game. I like the graphics, animations and effects. The idea is unique, I like it. If you would like to improve it, I recommend to change the fire sound and add some new guns and enemies. Btw a great game overall. :)
I enjoyed it, good work. It starts to get a bit frustrating when the enemies spawn right next to the poles, which means no matter how good you are you'll always lose within X minutes. But the encouraging text popups make up for it!
I enjoyed it! I don't know if this was intentional, but it reminded of the Commandos series, with the FOV cones and hiding places (obviously the theme is completely different..). If you continued working on the game, it might be interesting to have team members with different (feline) skills, and levels that can be completed in different ways. That would be bigger than a 48h game though, and the mechanic you've got is nice.
The graphics were very cool, especially that jumping animation, but I would've liked to have seen the person in the voxel style as well.
Nice work!
I really like the idea, because I love these kind of games. This game need more work to be enjoyable. What you made is a very good start, but it feels unfinished. I hope you can improve it.
:D hehe :D I stopped ~250 idiots, then missclicked on "Restart" button. I like this game, it's an original + funny idea. Highscore record is a good plan and I recommend resizing the restart button to a bit smaller to avoid missclick in this crazy fight :) Well done, it was fun.
That was pretty unique! I had trouble beating the second stage, but the highlight of the game for me were the theme / art. I thought the music in particular was great, and the title screen music is something I would enjoy on its own. Nice work
Nice work! The controls / camera movement took some time to get used to, but I'm not sure how much of that was because of the gimbal lock. After a couple of tries, I got into it. The red 'teleporting in' effect is really nice, and makes it clear where things are spawning, even if it's chaotic. The sfx were distracting sometimes, especially the bullets seemed too frequent, but I'm also getting old so...
:D I think I am a terrible god after this game. It was funny to play. I recommend to make a "year counter" (=turn counter) and use it as highscore. I really like the planet generation, where [spoiler] you can kill everyone before it all starts.
Thanks for the response. My goal was not winning the Ludum Dare with premade content. I would just like to get some feedbacks about how to develop the final game. Well, the game is not finished, so a lot of things are missing, like a real tutorial and graphics. The other thing is, I am a programmer, not an artist and since I'm a one man army I can only use google for arts. :/ The game was a skeleton before Ludum Dare and I had a really hard job to make it playable in 72hours. Probably the next thing to do is making a good tutorial.
I enjoyed this - it's really polished and the concept is original!
The gameplay is good and to take it further, I would adjust it to rely less on luck. Dodging the police requires skill, but being able to collect enough people in time is very dependent on where you spawn. Besides that, I was a bit confused if there was any use in rotating the ship with the mouse - I don't think so, so in the end I just used the keyboard.
The graphics + music are really nice, especially the explosion + bullet effects. Good work!
The idea is original, and I played this for a while!
At the beginning of the game it's sometimes impossible to reach the other side of the planet in time, but the gameplay gets much more interesting as you collect power-ups. Another frustration is that some of the asteroid types are difficult to see against the background, until they start glowing. Maybe that was an intentional decision.
Overall, I think you did a good job with balancing the difficulty, and the level of polish is high for a game jam.
Good job with the graphics (the joint on the whale's tale is a nice touch), and I think there's promise with the gameplay. I found it difficult to make progress though, because the whales were either too far apart to jump between, or there were too many blocking the way. The jumping is also a tad unpredictable - sometimes I jumped really high without meaning to. I like the idea, and was curious what the backstory was behind the whales (before reading the spoiler)!
Good job with this! A really like the world generation, it's makes me feel I'm totally lost in dimensions :) I couldn't finish the game, maybe my mistake or some problem, but I think it's fine for a game made in 48hours.
I thought this was really impressive, to get something this polished in the time available! Little details like the planets screaming and whistling add a lot. Music and art are nice, and the gameplay is really enjoyable.
Getting a good shot is satisfying, but if I would improve one thing, it’s that it sometimes felt too much like luck. Some ideas:
- Either allow camera panning or show the whole map at once - Be able to see roughly where you’re going to shoot, as you hold down the space button - Automatically reset the asteroid to where the red cross is after a shot - Show the previous shooting strength, while you hold down the space button
But I also think with more time I would learn how the bat behaves for different angles/strength. Good work!
This fits the theme perfectly, and it's fun to play. I love the design of the car!
I'm torn on whether the car physics is a plus or a minus, on the one hand it makes the game challenging, but on the other.. it makes the game challenging. I think the most important thing is that players still feel in control of the car, and I think that's the case here, but there might be tweaks you could make to improve that balance.
The backstory is a nice touch, and those chickens look really evil when they line up in a row..
Cute game :) use this music while playing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ytWz0qVvBZ0
I think its a perfect game in 48hrs. One thing I missing is a deconstuct button, because I totally failed the early building plan :D Btw I am very satisfied with this game, I can honestly say: Good job! I would play this game more if you'd upgrade it.
Short and sweet, but I felt it could be a bit more challenging. There's a big lead-up to the pistons coming out, so they're quite easy to anticipate. Overall a nice entry, good job.
This is really nice, I haven't played Locoroco but it reminded me of Gish. The music fits really well to the theme. I got frustrated that I couldn't fit into the gap at the end, and replayed it by trying to avoid the fuzzies, got frustrated when I still couldn't fit, then I read the comments and it all became clear.
Very cool how you synced the music with the bullets on the second level. No big complaints from me, apart from the vertical difficulty curve!
This is a really well-rounded submission, nice work.
@agentparsec @oats @frankiesmileshow Thanks for trying it out and sorry about that. I've updated the instructions on itch.io and added them above as well.
Great music, great art, great intro cinematic. The gameplay wasn't addictive as such, but the overall atmosphere makes up for it.
Nice minimalist idea! One small detail that I think @mike-inprinciple noticed as well - the game responds to the space key being released instead of it being pressed, which can trip people up.
The introduction is funny, and the mechanics are interesting. A couple of minor issues: I assume the loading dock is the bit jutting out to the right, but it's not clear that moving stuff in there makes the roof appear. Similarly, I couldn't work out when the best time to eject rooms was - is it when the timer is high, low or negative? Adding some visual hints could help with those things.
Apart from that, the game has has an interesting atmosphere that keeps your attention. The speech bubbles are a nice touch!
Simple, but still feels polished. I had similar issues as the previous comment, with thinking I could land on blocks.
Original and polished, nice work! Small details like the wind-up effect on the music when you complete the level add a lot.
The graphics and music are great. It's difficult to predict how rotating will affect the fleet, which can be frustrating at times. Perhaps being able to continue rotating the fleet even while the asteroids are moving would help with that. Overall, nice work.
Great atmosphere and an original theme. Nice work!
Really glad I played this. I ran into one bug where the key disappeared and I had to restart, but nothing major. The art style takes me back, and I enjoyed that the solutions to the puzzles weren't too obvious.
This is my favourite game that I've played so far. The only issue that stood out to me was that it's hard to tell when the shield has timed out because the timer dots are so small and they have a similar colour to the background. Also, I sometimes seem to receive damage even when the shield is active, for example when I tried to pick up cards from the circle enemy. Otherwise very addictive gameplay and nicely polished. Good job!
Cool idea and good execution! Worked well for me in Safari.
I thought that the two genres work surprisingly well together. It gets quite tense trying to fish while the tower defense is going on in the background. One small issue (already mentioned by someone else) I found was that it's hard to tell how much the upgrades cost. Otherwise, good job!
@smbe19 https://github.com/TannerRogalsky/love.js/ has issues with performance and is missing some features, like the pitch shift on the motor
Thanks for the feedback everyone. I agree that adding something like a time limit would have made a big difference.
Once I worked out what I was doing, it was all good! Nice artwork.
I enjoyed this! I had to stop at level 3 though, those purple towers are brutal. Reversing the roles of a tower defense game is a nice idea.
Well-deserved ratings - I've played this a lot over the past couple of days!
Very nice graphics, good job!
