The graphics were really neat. I'm assuming hand drawn? Good use of it!

omg its dance is so cute. I feel bad for laughing at his dead parents, but the cutscenes were really well done.
Sadly, I couldn't actually play it. None of the keys worked, except for the Escape key. I even tried downloading it, but had the same issue. I thought it might have been the Xbox controller I had plugged in, but I unplugged that, restarted the game, and had the same issue :(
Cool presentation. The title screen got me hyped, then the intro-story was awesome and funny. I actually thought about doing some kind of "Running out of outer space" kind of thing, cool to see others had the same idea. I was thinking "man they did this in 3 days?!"
But the actual game play was disappointing. Sorry...
I wish the planets worked like Mario Galaxy, I found it odd to fall off to my death. I was expecting humans to be a threat. I only played a couple levels.
Why no run animation??? The art style is cool, but the lack of animation for the main character really let me down.
Overall solid Jam Entry. Title screen and story slides shine!
Nice looking art style and great music to acompany it, sweet little game. The dificulty semed to escalate quickly at the end, and the shooting cross and where you actually shot is way of if you're not on stable ground, as in don't jump and shoot! Excelent ending, what great treasure I got!
Art, story, and voice acting was very good, but I found the main game a bit lackluster. The lack of effects and feedback when something dies made it quite boring. Most of the levels felt the same, even when the spaceships were introduced.
Very nice Graphics. This drawings were amazing. But at first I thought the planats have gravaty and I could walk on all sides of them but then I died. maybe such a gravaty effect would have been nice.
sadly there was no sound in the opening scene and also the game music just stopped at one point.
but other then these small bugs gread game :-D Oh and at first I always shot the Snugs because I thought they were Enemys x-D
**@CraigDuth** > The graphics were really neat. I’m assuming hand drawn? Good use of it!
Thanks! All the art in *Sniggle* was hand-drawn by @brooke. She did an amazing job :)
**@Jamiso** > omg its dance is so cute. I feel bad for laughing at his dead parents, but the cutscenes were really well done. Sadly, I couldn’t actually play it. None of the keys worked, except for the Escape key.
Thanks for the kind words :) I think I've fixed the input issue. Could you try playing again?

**@ismael-rodriguez** > Cool presentation. The title screen got me hyped, then the intro-story was awesome and funny.
Thanks! We're all really pleased with both of those :)
> But the actual game play was disappointing. Sorry…
Oof. As the guy who was really proud of the gameplay, this hurts a bit to hear :(
> I wish the planets worked like Mario Galaxy, I found it odd to fall off to my death. I was expecting humans to be a threat. I only played a couple levels.
@pipe01 actually had the idea for mario-galaxy-esque planet behaviour, but by that point we had solidly established our gameplay and I didn't want to scrap it all and start anew. Humans *are* a threat, but you don't begin seeing them until level 4.
> Why no run animation??? The art style is cool, but the lack of animation for the main character really let me down.
Firstly, time, and secondly, it may not have worked well with the gameplay, particularly with how sniggle can cling to the side of planets. In lieu of an animation I made him wiggle side to side in midair, and personally I think it's super cute.
Thanks for your honest feedback. It's actually inspired me to make a post-jam levels pack which are more difficult and more fully explore the gameplay possible with the systems we implemented.

Thanks so much for playing our game! Glad you liked the ending :) I agree that the difficulty curve isn't great. I wish I'd had more time to polish the levels.

Thank you!
> I found the main game a bit lackluster. The lack of effects and feedback when something dies made it quite boring.
When ships die, there is both a visual and audio effect. I assume you were shooting the snugs? You're supposed to save those.
> Most of the levels felt the same, even when the spaceships were introduced.
I can see what you mean. I plan on making a post-jam level pack with more interesting and varied levels.
Appreciate the honest feedback!

@brooke did an excellent job :)
> But at first I thought the planats have gravaty and I could walk on all sides of them but then I died. maybe such a gravaty effect would have been nice.
You're right, that would have been cool. We considered exploring this but didn't have time.
> sadly there was no sound in the opening scene and also the game music just stopped at one point.
Sorry about that... both issues should be fixed now.
> but other then these small bugs gread game :-D Oh and at first I always shot the Snugs because I thought they were Enemys x-D
Thanks for your kind words! Perhaps your Sniggle was resentful of snugs who have living parents, and so he set out to make some new orphans.
@iamsodarncool Played it again now the sound worked all fine. And your voice acting was amazing. This end scene was very nice x-D I saved 98 Snugs.
@stames thanks for revisiting the game! Glad it's all working now. To clarify: the majority of the voice acting was done by @Lethalfirestorm - I *did* lend my voice in the ending cutscene though. I'm quite pleased you enjoyed it :)
The art and sound on this is great. The intro was also really smart. Where I felt it fell short was the gameplay. It started out ok but it was very samey. Overall though I did enjoy it and well done.
Lovely art work, I am in love with the cool intro, which definitely adds some mood element to the game. The platforming is pretty difficult actually, I died a lot haha. I enjoyed the game a lot. Great work!
OMG i loved the graphics and art. Great music too. Really fun game, congratulations!
Nice game ! I fell in love with the intro :)
Thanks so much for all the kind words @pixelshorts @nam-nguyen @adam-harms @amaury
thank you guys so much for the positive feedback on my artwork/the cut scenes! <3 Really means a lot :) So glad you guys liked it
@adam-harms @nam-nguyen @pixelshorts @stames @bentekiller @jamison @craigduth
Hey thanks, @ismael-rodriguez! Glad you liked the menu/opening scene XD
And about the lack of animation in the game, as @iamsodarncool said, we just didn't have time for making it and it was a little risky anyway since we weren't too sure if it'd feel/look right with how he moved.
Plus, I'm still not very experienced with animating. But I'll be working on that between now and our next game jam. So hopefully our next game will have some animation!!
Thanks again for the honest feedback! :)
@iamsodarncool Thanks for trading feedback, I appreciate that. I definitely don't want to hurt your feelings or discourage you, just sharing what I think could be better, what stood out to me. I understand Jam games are just a rush to the finish, so a lot of things get left on the table and the most important thing is having SOMETHING, ANYTHING playable. You guys got it done!
@brooke
I think a few key-frames would have been enough to satisfy my thirst for animation. Megaman NES has 3 frame animation.

I think I was expecting it because the dancing title screen, and the game being about "running" out of space. Overall great job on artwork though!
Great music, great art, great intro cinematic. The gameplay wasn't addictive as such, but the overall atmosphere makes up for it.
I liked the graphic composition of the game very much. but I think that it was possible to shorten the story but to enslave gameplay and animation of your character. I really liked the game
Beautiful artwork, great voiceover in scenes and love the awesome, awesome BGM!
The platforming gameplay is quite interesting although a little unintuitive, was expecting some kind of circular gravity or zero gravity, rather than gravity in a single direction. Didn't realize I could double jump until the mid levels and things got substantially easier. Think this would benefit from a zoomed out view as its kind of hard to see where you can land. Managed to get toaster though. Great job!
Thanks for the great feedback @randomphantom ! Yeah, zooming the camera out a little would have been an improvement.
Nice idea! cool game!
The music and introduction feels perfect for this game. I really enjoyed the character. and colors of the universe. The only thing missing would be some animations for the player to polish this up a bit more.
Great game! Very cool and interesting! :D
Interesting childish aesthetic for an unusual gameplay. I loved the actor voice during the intro. The main gameplay is interesting, and all mechanics work well as expected - really smooth. You did a great entry. Funny experience. Thank you and bravo ++
Cute game, great idea. I liked that all the graphics appeared to be hand drawn - more animation would've been nice. HTML5 version didn't work for me, but the mac version did.
This is one of the best entires I played so far. You have very nice intro with original story and with voiceover! It is amazing. Graphics is in special style and not bad at all. Great! I have to show this game to our oldest kid tomorrow. She will like it. Good job. Good team work. What else to say. I believe you really enjoyed doing this game together. Keep it up! ;-)
