Played in single player and got a score of 5500. I liked how you traveled around the hex's and if you had a giant dent in your planet you had to go through that hole get to the other side

Definitely cool and very polished. Enjoyed the music/sound and art.

Only had a few issues, the starting speed is just a tad too slow, can't reach asteroids before they hit if I was on the other side. couldn't easily tell the difference between the hardened rocks and the normal 1 hit rocks. mainly using the audio from hitting those harder rocks to tell the difference and some times it was like, if only I shot to the right a little more I would have hit that asteroid,

Overall I like it, well made. and those power ups made me feel great, zipping around the planet shooting 6 bullets, compared to the start.. much cooler.

Could do with more enemy types (unless I didn't reach them) :alien:

bram-ve 2017-05-01 14:37

The start was slightly annoying and slow but after some land pieces were destroyed and picking up some power ups the game got really fun. Additionally the audio and look of the game fit decently well so overall i enjoyed the addicting gameplay and the fitting audio and visuals :)

morrilet 2017-05-01 14:53

Wow, this was really well done. Let me start by saying that the UI is striking. You definitely gave a good first impression with that. I loved the gameplay and the way that it scaled. The powerups were fun and the asteroids felt relentless. I only managed to get a score of 2800. My only bit of criticism here is that there didn't seem to be any audio in-game, only in the menu. Maybe that was a bug? Time constraints? Either way, it didn't take too much away from the whole experience.

This is definitely the kind of game I'd keep on my PC after judging ends, so great job!

nilead 2017-05-01 14:59

If you finish it, it could become a nice mobile game. I like the powerups system. My score was 2500.

lugdumdare-team 2017-05-01 14:59

Thank you all for feedback !

@morrilet : there is a know bug with audio when going in settings. It will be correct in a fix version of the game. Try check/uncheck sound before playing. There is actually sfx! ;)

fernandoadolfo 2017-05-01 15:23

Nice arcade game. At the very beginning it starts too slow, but then you start to destroy asteroids, getting improvements and the game becomes challenging and more interesting. The sound effects and the music are good too.

Anyway there is one thing I don't like, the fact that you can't defend yourself if two asteroids come from two oposite directions at the same time. One of them at least will hit you no matter what you do.

Despite that, is a really good arcade game.

nidup 2017-05-01 16:02

Cool game, well polished. Interesting gameplay, graphics & feedback, I especially like the power ups! The beginning of the game is a bit slow but then it's totally ok :)

t-mw 2017-05-01 16:11

The idea is original, and I played this for a while!

At the beginning of the game it's sometimes impossible to reach the other side of the planet in time, but the gameplay gets much more interesting as you collect power-ups. Another frustration is that some of the asteroid types are difficult to see against the background, until they start glowing. Maybe that was an intentional decision.

Overall, I think you did a good job with balancing the difficulty, and the level of polish is high for a game jam.

lookslikesomething 2017-05-01 16:17

Nice game with cool graphics. Hard to stop playing it, good job!

zeriver 2017-05-01 16:23

Gameplays gets a lot of depth thanks to the fact that the planet terrain is uneven and thanks to that your missles are being on different angle. Game looks really pretty, even guis seems polished. In overall pretty decent game.

jushiip 2017-05-01 17:07

Good job! Really liked your game. I had fun in one round when I was able to upgrade the speed and guns quite early, then I just kept driving around the planet in one direction and shooting non-stop.

Anyways, very good design! The controls are very smooth. It's quite hard to aim in the beginning due to the hexagonal ground, but after you grab some powerups, it becames much easier.

kappaix 2017-05-01 17:16

I really liked the way the planet deforms as it gets attacked - definitely interesting. It also takes a while to get going, but once you get some power ups, it's fun. Sometimes slightly frustrating because you can't control your aiming that well?

Well done! Thanks a lot for sharing!

mathijsvissers 2017-05-01 17:20

Nicely done. A bit slow/hard at the start, but once you get going it's pretty awesome. I like the way you move around the world. A bit hard to aim sometimes. Sounds are good. Graphics are good enough. Overall could use some polish but really solid game!

turbo 2017-05-01 17:25

Cool game.

holgk 2017-05-01 17:32

Nice game. A little too slow on start but after you upgrad your gun it's better.

goncalo-monteiro 2017-05-01 17:35

Was fun, decent package of music, sound, destruction and gameplay

jorbits 2017-05-01 18:19

Nice game, I enjoyed playing. But if you don't get the right power ups in the beginning it gets really hard. A nice addon would be screen shaking, when you hit an astroid.

kosmo 2017-05-01 18:24

Very good! Very polished, good sound and graphics, a lot of fun.

The one complaint I have is the balance. It's quite hard at the beginning to shoot anything due to the large size of the planet and the movement speed of your turret moving. Getting hit a few times is actually beneficial because you can move around the planet more quickly. And then when you start getting power-ups it gets a ton easier very quickly. Maybe if you started on a smaller size planet, and then add a "leveling up" component where you add more layers to the planet but keep your power-ups? Or maybe some of the power-ups healed your planet or added terrain?

Overall, nicely done!

deck 2017-05-01 18:27

I found tricky to predict the next asteroid collision in time, so my strategy was reduced to move around the planet and hope in lucky shots. By the way, a well done game

headmade 2017-05-01 20:56

Nice little game with a good amount of polish. Good job. The game looks good and all art assets work well together and there are some neat effects, like the entry heating of the asteroids.

I would have liked to be able to have more control over my craft. Something simple like stop shooting to charge the shot would have added a lot to it. The way it is now it feels to limited and it seems the most important factor in wining is spawn luck of the asteroids and not how you steer your craft.

There was no sound or music the first time I played (web version). Only after I refreshed the site I heard something. The intro music is very high quality and epic, while in game the music is much simpler and very different in style. The sound effects are relatively crude too. There is nothing wrong with the individual assets, but the mix is a bit weird. The lack of sound effects for the shooting seemed odd.

My Highscore: 37500 Come at me bros :men_wrestling:

breno-m 2017-05-01 23:00

The hexagonal tiles as a planet instead of a circle was a great idea. The initial speed was too slow on singleplayer mode and seemed unfair, maybe we could control two spaceships, one on each side of the planet? Overral, fun game to play, especially the multiplayer mode.

roberto-romao 2017-05-02 05:35

The speed of your ship on hte begin of the game is too slow! At least double o u can defend properly. I would recomend a more smooth BGM, this is much frenetic ( at least on the beggining)

Overall good job! :D

gao-ming 2017-05-02 07:53

Very fun. The graphics are beautiful. Great work!

liquidbrain 2017-05-02 08:12

Let me start off by saying that it was really hard to aim due to the hexagonal pattern. But that’s the only problem i had with this game. Otherwise, it’s a game that can easily be picked up, the controls were simple and the goal too. It started getting real fun when you got the power ups and started blasting asteroids left to right. It’s a nice entry.

Also, @lugdumdare-team Thanks for the feedback you left on [Infectera](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/infecteria) !

Hope you guys had fun making this game. Have an awesome day!

kabalatrance 2017-05-02 08:21

Fun idea and concept. Only problem that I have is that my ship is to slow, and there are some asteroids that I can not possibly get.

2017-05-02 09:51

It felt supercool to go around the planet and shoot everything and when you got some powerups, it felt even cooler.

cambryx 2017-05-02 13:14

nice little game! I liked the fact that a hit to the planet didn't only increase the chance of an asteroid hitting the core, but also increased the way the player has to travel. The beginning was always kind of boring since it takes some time for the first asteroids to appear, but as you collect more and more powerups it gets pretty fun. The user-interface was well done. Maybe the best thing was the music since it excellently fittet the game. Definitely a cool entry!

It would be nice, if you also tried out our game! Here is a link: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/42-mikronikus

japes 2017-05-02 14:10

Great game, really well polished in terms of graphics/sounds and awesome UI. Agree with other reviewers that the difficulty curve is a bit skewed - impossibly hard at the start, too easy towards the end. But great idea and with some work could be a very fun game.

unidaystudio 2017-05-02 14:22

Very polished game, but I thing you have to add some interface objects to show when as asteroid is coming. Sometimes I'm on the other side of the planet and the asteroid fall without give me time to defense. The power ups really help me with this issue, but I think you should work more on this... Every asteroid have to give the player a chance to defeat them, or this will make the player angry...

Good job!

swiftillusion 2017-05-02 16:18

As others have mentioned, the beginning is rough/unfair considering the simple inability to reach the other side-though it'd be difficult to balance if you started too fast. Maybe just have the initial set of asteroids start slower? Still it quickly becomes a fun small but engaging experience.

|+ The tilting of your aim based on the hexagonal boarder adds an easy to grasp but fun twist to your navigation/targeting of enemies. |+ The powerups being able to stack (e.g. getting more than just 3 bullets spread) is great. |+ Light hearted and fun visuals (love how the asteroids burn up).

|- The beginning inability to reach asteroids because of your speed/their quick decent/short distance before the planet. |- The weaker/stronger asteroids being practically impossible to spot (didn't even know there was a visual indication until reading these comments-though my eyesight is bad at the moment).

A fun and accessible foundation that's already a joy to experience, great work!

seanohue 2017-05-04 04:21

I enjoyed the game once I got the hang of it, though I wish there were more powerups in the beginning to make up for the initial planet size. That may help with the difficulty curve. Also liked the sound, graphics, and particle effects when the planet gets smacked.

christina-antoinette-neofotistou 2017-05-04 09:16

Loved the mechanic and the strategic depth it provides. I had fun playing it and felt so invested that I was shouting "shit shit shit" a lot when I was about to be hit by a meteor. Good job! Top marks

pcmaster 2017-05-05 10:19

It reminds me a game I created a long time ago. Very nice! I just had problems targeting as I orient with the edges of the hexes. But the music is good, graphics too and the pace is killing :)

miggyg 2017-05-07 02:18

Very fun game! Hard to aim at first but the power ups helped a lot. I loved the overall look of the game, that UI and those particle effects looked great! Fun only wished I could stay alive longer, maybe adding some placeable turrets as a power up or adding a layer to the planet. Great work!

fueelin 2017-05-07 04:43

I basically went infinite. Was able to weigh down my left arrow key and live forever, amassing score. It was pretty great.

What an awesome game! Really inventive mechanics that fit the theme well, and it was well balanced once you got past the initial learning curve. Could very well be my favorite game that I've played so far this LD. Fantastic work!

kcreanor 2017-05-07 08:11

This was great fun! Took a few tries until I got enough power ups to be able to give it a proper bash, but once I did it was brilliant! Sound and art are spot on, with really well put-together and all in all a really solid entry, well done!

markusfisch 2017-05-07 20:16

This could be so immersive!! Really cool driving music, quick gameplay and really nice graphics. Somehow I really like the use of hex tiles with that idea. But sadly I feel it's just too unfair to really get me going. As other have mentioned, the turret is moving too slow and you don't have a chance to get astroids coming from above or below - or am I playing this wrong and there is a way?

Great entry either way!

hegemege 2017-05-09 20:00

I think you should drop a lot more powerups at the start, I only managed to get 3 in total throughout my play session. As mentioned above, the movement speed is a bit slow and I feel bad for having no decision over most of the hits early in the game.

I also had problems with the music and other audio, it didn't play on my first go, and had to play again after coming back here. Good job on the visuals though! With some tweaks this could turn into a nice game. One idea I got was having a turret on the ground where the player could go into, and they would be able to shoot anywhere on that hemisphere, but not move while inside the turret.

anv 2017-05-09 21:45

Loved the idea of planet made of destroyable segments,! Visuals and music are spot on too! Powerups could use some balancing though, like limited amount of time - later in, you can just keep holding one arrow button, and every asteroid gets obliterated without much strategizing on Player's part. Maybe initial movement speed and asteroid frequency could be decreased, and then steadily increase with time instead? Anyway, definitely one the most polished LD entries.

pandy 2017-05-10 08:30

Cool game and really fun to play the co-op mode. A bit to long time before the first asteroids appears.

mieeh 2017-05-10 10:40

One of the more fun games I've played this jam. Good job.

hlavik 2017-05-10 19:35

Cool game. Nice space background. I don't understand the name of game but that is fine. Good job.

cerno-b 2017-05-13 13:53

Awesome presentation. The graphics and music are really pulling this one together. The sound and visual effects pack a punch which makes the game fun to play.

Unfortunately I feel that by choosing a hexa-layout for the game it becomes quite tough to control, since the direction of the shots changes dramatically whenever the player turns a corner, which creates a lot of blind spots where you can't hit the incoming tiles. It may be tricky to pull off, but I think hexes with rounded corners might boost the fun significantly as that would close the blind spots and would have added some measure of strategy (will I stay near the spots that give me more control or keep moving along the edge to hit more asteroids) and skill (fine-tuning the sweet spot on the rounded corner that will hit the asteroid).

Overall you made a beautiful game (sight and sound) that could have benefited from some more tuning of its gameplay mechanics.

**Edit:** After reading some of the comments, I decided to give the game another try and I have to say that after collecting a few powerups, it gets really easy. I got to 280200 points just by holding Left down until some random asteroids managed to get past me.
